Kahunaville Island Restaurant

Rowan (waiter) was awesome. What a nice guy. We had the Dude Burger and it was great. Spicy but the tasty. ;)

BYO pirate flag and an island girl. This restaurant is tucked into the depths of Treasure Island, Yo Ho.
We had a BOGO ½ off entrée coupon. After wrestling with options, we settled in on coconut shrimp and the piña colada chicken.
Now for the main reason I was here –the rum. 1 Pirates booty for me and a tiki torch for him.
Here’s where it starts getting fuzzy.
I remember the rice being cooked perfectly. The shrimp were fresh and not over cooked. You had better love coconut because the force was strong with this one. We kicked ourselves for ordering two coconut dishes, our fault. The piña colada chicken was moist and had plenty of sauce, which was pretty sweet and very rich. I tried to focus on the vegetables but everything was getting blurry.
What was in those drinks?!? We had originally planned to hit up a tiki bar afterwards but I quickly realized that after just one drink — all I wanted to do was go back to the rooftop of our hotel & take in the empyrean glow of the strip.
Service was good and we were seated right away, no complaints there. They say that Kahuna can be defined as a «priest, sorcerer, magician, wizard, expert in any profession.» Who ever made those drinks is definitely the Big Kahuna in my Kahunaville.

We only stopped into the bar and didn’t see the evening show. Sitting in the bar area, our server was friendly, and we all ordered a round of sugary frozen cocktails (covered by a Groupon). All of the drinks were quite sweet, which I guess is expected. The frozen lime margarita was okay, but the strawberry was almost undrinkable due to being saccharine sweet, but I guess that is typically of slushy-​machine drink. They were out of Mango, which was really disappointing to 3 of our group. We ordered 2 appetizers also, so combat the sugar rush. The hummus was ok, but came with very few flatbread. The artichoke dip was just ok. Overall, maybe I’d come back for the evening show, but I wouldn’t come for drink or food again.

Off. So we followed guests to the in blocked area. We’re then scolded by bartender that was the wrong side? Bartender turned it around once we were seated.
Looks like we should have bought the groupon for drink deals. Paid $ 27 for 2 cocktails. Drinks were delicious.
May have been a coincidence but 10 minutes after boyfriend drank his drink he was in the bathroom for a while. He lost those stubborn last few pounds.
I immediately got acid reflux. delicious but potentially deadly!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been here and it’s not as good as it once was. But then again, neither am I. I got a coupon when I checked in for $ 20 off so we shuffled down here. We didn’t get seated in the main dining area which has a much nicer ambiance to it. We ordered the crab cakes and coconut shrimp dinners. Both were good and well worth it with the coupon.
I ordered a cocktail from there… I think it was called a zombie and it was terrible. I’d stick with the regular drinks next time. The service was good and I’d be back again.

Hate doing this but I have no choice. Stood in front for 2 minutes and no one came to seat me so I asked the girl I saw working to seat me. She called over someone but that person quickly went to book an event for people that were behind me waiting to be seated. The same lady saw that and told me if it was cool if I sat at the bar So I did. Starving and waiting for attention again, this time from the bartender. Not even a glance or any type of service from the woman behind the bar. I literally sat there for 10 minutes looking at the menu I grabbed from the side of the bar. I walked out never got to eat there again. First time I ate there was spring of 12′ and it wasn’t memorable.
There is a plus though, if you go there and actually get service, the bartenders flare bottles and do some pretty cool tricks. That’s the only thing that’s awesome about this place.

Fun place… good food and an oxygen bar. My friend did a deal at the oxygen bar where she got a massage and some essential oils to relax so I thought that was a nice touch. We ordered a few apps and drinks. The vibe is fun and makes you feel like you truly are on an island somewhere. I enjoyed my tortilla soup and a friend had the spinach dip which was pretty good. If I’m ever at the Treasure Island hotel again I’d definitely pop in to hang out and enjoy some eats.

The new show is so fun and funny ! We loved it compared to the old show. This show is maybe a month new. The new main singer is younger and more energetic and it’s a more energetic show with a hilarious comedian in between show times.
Food is soooooo amazingly good. Chicken tortilla soup. Salad with feta cheese is a MUST! And at least my fav! The AhiTuna!!! Ahhhh I wanna go back already ! So so so good! My mom got a chicken pasta that was amazing to. Had a good time ! Glad we brought my mom who’s visiting to see this show she loved Elvis and laughed we all had a great time. Elvis was my fav also he was hilarious .
Kids are allowed mine are 7&8 they enjoyed it and also got called up on stage ;) kid friendly
You can just watch the show you don’t have to eat !

I took my mom and her friend to the Dinner show, they enjoyed the show. I felt like it was a bit old Vegas, lounge lizard type stuff, at least from the Elvis impersonator. Mr. Mars was great of course and played great music, it was the singing that was somewhat amateurish.
The food was surprisingly fantastic, I ordered the tuna an it was great and the presentation was really nice, reasonably priced as well.
I would take guests to this show again.

We did the dinner and show and it was WONDERFUL! Price was $ 50 a person with tax and all that mambo jumbo. Pretty awsome to be vegas. Totally worth the price. For all you people that have been to similar things like medieval times or pirates dinner adventure you might know you get either good food or good show but definately not both. This place had BOTH great food and an amazing show. My husband had the steak and i had the piña colada chicken we both picked at each others food because we couldnt agtee which one was better. Needless to say, there was absolutely nothing left on the plate.
You get a little bit of everything. A little elvis, hawaiian dancers, and what made my vegas trip… doo-​wop. This man needs his own show he was so talented. I dont know if it was the drinks in my system but the music was so beautiful made me cry lol. We met a very nice girl by the name of tara she explained to us the show and the oxygen bar she offered us 2 for 1 yard drinks. She was very friendly.
Check it out guys you wont be disappointed

Pros: If you are living in Treasure Island, this is a great spot to hit up! In this case, I needed a quick place to eat before our Circus Du Soleil show and it was perfect! To get things going faster, choose to seat at the bar and you can get seated faster with all the options as a normal table. The food was surprisingly good! There is a shrimp entrée that comes with this delicious curry-​like sauce and the steak salad was pretty good too. They are not frugal on their portions so you will definitely walk away full! The bartender was really cool and well traveled who checks up on his bar people often.
Cons: There isn’t anything too special about the food and the décor is kind of cheesy like the rain forest café (but without the aquarium).
Overall: For what you get on the strip, this a pretty decent deal though there are many other more interesting restaurants in my opinion.

Happy Hour Daily 4−7pm
Kahunaville has a great happy hour menu on their website so we decided to check it out before a comedy show at TI. We sat at the bar and planned on being there for a few hours. The happy hour and drink menu were totally different then what we had looked at online. Gone were all the fun fruity drinks I wanted to try. We asked the bartender about it and showed him the menu. He said it was an old menu and said «fucking idiots» I guess at whoever didn’t update the site. I asked if he could make the Green Iguana and he begrudging said yes. I told him it was ok if he couldn’t and I would happily pay regular pricing. He said he could make it but you could tell he wasn’t happy about it. The whole time he was dropping F bombs and it was really uncomfortable. I cuss like a sailor but to have someone do it in such an angry way was different. Our visit just kept going downhill from there. We were looking at the regular menu for some apps and he took the menu out of my friends hand to give it to a guy asking what beer they had. Instead of just telling him what beer they had or getting another menu he took it away from her. It was crazy. When he brought our drinks he asked if we wanted to run a tab. I looked at my friend cause I was ready to leave. She said «I don’t care» «It’s up to you» to me. The bartender goes «Well I care!» Like dude give us a sec. I can’t believe how rude this guy was. We paid and left. To bad because we planned on running through the whole menu and having a great night.

I went here for quick dinner before Mystere show.
It took 40 mins to bring out the sampler — dried ribs and wings

Husband and I were looking for a cheap-​ish place to eat on the strip. We didn’t have the funds or clothing to eat at a fancy-​fancy restaurant. We were towards the end of the strip, so decided to try out Kahunaville in TI. It’s a little hidden in the resort, but not too hard to find.
I had the Pirate’s Booty drink to start. Loved it– it was light and refreshing and not super sweet. After having a LAAAARGE Pina Colada earlier, it was a nice change.
To eat, I had the fish tacos and husband had the Dude burger. I was a fan of the fish tacos– the sriracha aoli was a tasty addition and I liked that it came with sour cream on the side to balance out the heat. Husband liked his burger as well, came cooked just as he specified (medium). I really liked his fries, they were nice thin ones, seasoned well.
My biggest disappointment was that we didn’t see any flair bartending. Maybe we were there too early (7 PM)? Also, was not aware there was a dinner show at the restaurant and was not asked if we wanted to go to it.
Service was okay. Little on the slow, unattentive side and it was not busy in there. We were not asked if we wanted an appetizer or dessert.
A nice added perk was we got a free photo postcard just for eating there. You could buy a larger photo for a price… Free in Vegas is rare, so it was a good addition.

We came here for dinner and a show. After some confusion with tickets (our fault, not theirs) the manager allowed us to bring in our meals from the restaurant into the dinner show room and skip the provided meal instead. Absolutely top notch service.
Food was AMAZING, drinks were STRONG, and the show was a lot of fun. I much prefered the dancing numbers in the show to the singing, but i think the older members of the crowd enjoyed the songs so it is definitely a show the whole family can enjoy.

So far we’ve had breakfast here twice.
My husband and I like to share, not only to save money but also because food portions are usually so big it’s nice not to have leftovers and not feel too stuffed.
The first morning we had the omelette and it was delicious. It came with potatoes and a slice of fresh watermelon.
This morning we had the stuffed french toast and it’s the best I’ve had. It was nice and crispy on the outside just the way I like it! I definitely recommend it.
You can sit outside by the pool and take in the scenery!

This is one of those restaurants you come across in Las Vegas where it is generally a cookie-​cutter restaurant slapped with a simple theme and a generic menu. I was underwhelmed by the food and so was everyone else at the table. The tiki theme was alright and the drinks were decent; however there were something lacking at Kahunaville. Speaking of lacking… I was shocked how key ingredients were missing in the menu for their drinks. Case in point shaved coconut in one of their signature drinks. Now i know that most tiki drinks have some sort of coconut but there are plenty for those who can’t have coconut. I’m lucky enough that I took a look at my drink before having a sip or I would’ve partied in Sin City in the ambulance.
I was also surprised how big of a deal they made to split the checks when the restaurant wasn’t even packed. Actually I should’ve taken heed of the attendance in the restaurant before walking in. We were starving and couldn’t walk anymore before trying to eat our straws in our drinks.
This place also shocked me when I ordered a side dish of mac n’ cheese and literally received a lump of kraft box, orange dyed, clumped mac n’ cheese. The potatoes tasted like they were from the box and most of the main dishes were just bland. A chicken plate where the grilled chicken has no seasoning is crazy. If I didn’t know better I would’ve thought this was me in my own kitchen. (I don’t even think my cooking is that bad though)
Ultimately this is one of those learning experiences where you know to avoid this place in the future.

This is not a restaurant that you go out of you way to visit because it is tucked in the back of Treasure Island. However, if you are staying in TI there are quite a few good coupons that make this place affordable.
We just missed breakfast by a few minutes which is a great deal with the coupon but we opted for the buy one get one half off lunch. I had the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich ($ 13.99) and my hubby had the wedge salad ($ 9.99). Both were decent but nothing earth shattering.
The service was a bit slow on getting the food and the bill. The restaurant was not even crowded so I would fear going here during a busy time. The atmosphere is very cool., obviously Polynesian with a surf channel playing on all of the televisions. The only thing missing is outdoor seating because it really feels like you should be sitting outside.
Kahunaville often appears on Groupon as well so definitely take advantage of their deals! It is much less painful to pay $ 14 for a chicken sandwich if you have a coupon.

Sehr durchschnittliches Restaurant. Keine Überraschungen beim Essen — weder nach oben, noch nach unten.

Before going to see Mysère again, I decided to try Kahunaville once more. I had been here over 10 years ago and while I liked the food, the loud bar customers and louder music were a complete annoyance. I never thought I’d return.
I had a reservation for 5 PM which would give me plenty of time for the 7 PM show. As the hostess was walking with me, she asked if I wanted bar seating for happy hour or did I want dinner seating in the downstairs dining room. Bingo! Downstairs to avoid any loudness! I never knew it existed.
Down about 7 steps is a large room off the pool at TI and this is there main dining room. I was seated halfway in the dining room and I had a good view toward both one pool area and the stairs. Right in front of me was a TV with Monday Night football so that took my attention.
Rowan was my server and he was there soon with menu and took my order for iced tea. After looking things over and asking about the soup of the day, I opted for chicken tortilla soup to start and Bang Bang shrimp for the main course.
The chicken tortilla soup is listed on the menu as spicy but it wasn’t – at least not for me. The soup was very hot and it was good. The chicken was a bit meager. There were some tortilla chips standing in the bowl instead of the normal tortilla strips most places use. This was good. At this time came the only glitch in service. Before I finished my soup, a runner came from the kitchen with my main course. Damn, I wish restaurants would watch this. If I hadn’t been somewhat close to finishing my soup, I would have sent her back. But then, it would probably sit under a heat lamp for a few minutes.
The Bang Bang shrimp was very good and a reason to return. The dish consists of 8 shrimp with bacon, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, red pepper, and carrots. The shrimp have a nice spicy zest to them making their bang bang name appropriate. The rice appeared to be regular rice rather than jasmine and the shrimp wasn’t served over a bed of rice as the menu states, but it was a good looking dish with an orchid in the rice. Nice touch.
For dessert, I got the pineapple upside down cake with vanilla ice cream. It was OK and something different.
Service was very good. Rowan brought a new iced tea before I finished the first one and he asked if I wanted a cup to take my leftover iced tea with me. His service was very good and he was a very personable and polite man.
On the way out, the hostess wished me a good evening and used my name which was a very nice touch. This is a place to which I’d return if I were coming to TI, not something I do very often.

Inside of here is where I found the cheapest spa treatment in Vegas! At the oxygen bar you can in hale relaxing smells while getting a 10min back and neck massage for $ 20 bucks! They also throw in a souvenir cup!
This is the most affordable massage after you have lost most of your money on the slots. The smells will help you forget all your problems and exhale strength to go back hit the tables lol
