History

Established in 1983.

Originally named the Las Vegas Stars (’83-’00), the 51s have been playing baseball at Cashman Field for over 30 years. As member of the Pacific Coast League the team has been playing Triple-​A Baseball since its inception. The team has been affiliated with the San Diego Padres (’83-’00), Los Angeles Dodgers (’01-’08), Toronto Blue Jays (’09-’12) and New York Mets (’13-​Current). Las Vegas has won the Pacific Coast League title in 1986 & 1988. It was in 2001 that the name of the team changed. Capitalizing on the mystique of the United States Air Force secret base north of Las Vegas, Area 51 where it was rumored that crashed UFOs and aliens were kept. The team adopted an alien them complete with a 7-​foot mascot, Cosmo, and took the name 51s.

Manager

Chuck is the team’s General Manager working under team President Don L. He has worked for the baseball team for a combined 16 years and has vast experience in professional sports and media/​sponsorship sales. Started with the club as a sponsorship sales executive, Chuck has worked his way up through the organization garnering experience in almost every aspect of team operations.
