I have been a member for over 4 years and regularly visit this gym. It is the best spent $ 20– per month, you can find, anywhere. I am writing this review now, because each time I come in, which is about 1 time a week, the facility is cleaner, and nicer than the time before. The cleaning staff at this location obviously takes pride in their craft, and even though it is one of the older facilities her in vegas, it looks, smells and feels great. All these years I have never had any kind of problem, always felt welcome, and there is always numerous choices of equipment, a separate work out area for the women, and a nice variety of classes with choices for every age and ability. Additionally, a full sized pool, large jacuzzi type pool, very steamy steam room, hot hot hot dry sauna, clean showers, great locations and open 24 hours a day, what more could you ask for in a gym? If you are wondering which health club to join, go no further, you found the best in town.

The equipment is always available and I always tend to go during the night time because I like a bit quieter. The staff is probably why I’m rating it 2 stars, not the lobby people who scan your card there always nice. Its the sales staff, I remember asking for the personal trainer from one of the them. It first took a 20 minute wait to finally have someone come see me about signing up, then some one just took me to a wall to choose from a list of Trainers. I clearly should’ve done my homework and found out what I’m really suppose to ask for when it comes to hiring personal trainers. I ended up just talking a card and saying I’d call but I just felt like I was being passed over, I’ve worked in sales for 8 years and know when someones rushing me along. No hard feelings I still will go to this gym but clearly going else where to find a trainer.

This gym is the BEST!!! It’s close to home but my favorite is the JUICE BAR!!! Gloria and Irvin are my favs!!! They are always willing to help and make my favorite shake ORANGE DREAMSICLE!!! They have it ready as soon as I walk up!!! Thank you guys your the best!!! Keep up the good work

Lots of everything you need so the wait on the equipment is minimum. Mid morning and late at night are the best times to come. I believe they are 24 hours too.

I live 25 minutes away from this LVAC, and the nearest one is only 15 minutes from my home. Reason why I come to this location is the «comfort level» I Love the women’s gym here. I have to remember it’s Not mine, Lol. Never a wait for a machine. I’m in and out; Love it, Especially when I’m in a hurry to place mi Sports bet. :-)…Also have been a member for over 15 yrs now. I keep coming to this location. Friendly staff also!

Not my favorite of the LVAC gyms, but when it comes down to having everything I need to get an awesome workout and lift in… I can’t be too upset.
Location is pretty sketchy — for me it’s great because it’s next to Sunrise Hospital.
Staff is friendly and nice.
They have everything you could want. A Plethora of free weights, cardio machines, indoor swimming pools, sauna, café, and class studio.
This place definitely caters to anyone who is serious about fitness, lifting, and getting into shape. It has everything.
There are other gyms out there like Lifetime Fitness that are a little nicer and feels like a country club. But when I go to the gym. I go to get it done in there! I got to sweat, to work, to push my body to fatigue… Not to be pampered.
Since I work at all of the hospitals, having a gym by every part of Vegas really helps out when trying to find time to squeeze in a gym session. This location being so close to Sunrise really helps me.
I would choose most of the other LVAC’s over this one — or most gyms in general — but for convenience factor — this one is awesome

Don’t ever plan on moving if your in contract with LVAC，Be sure to read the fine print before signing up for a membership here. Shady costumer service at the time of sale， I locked in to a 2years contract，Worst customer service，they pretty much had a «tough shit» attitude about the whole situation. has zero respect for club members, is the most unprofessional person I have ever met, and has no business speaking to customers on any level.
The water fountain is old & the water does not run clear. the locker room & it smelled horrible!
Don’t waste your time on one with a complex!!!

Extortion. They refuse to allow you to cancel your membership without exorbitant cancelation fees. Quoted me $ 300 over the phone. Save yourself the trouble and go to a reasonable gym that is run by human beings.

So after I returned my wedding dress I went over to LVAC and signed up for a membership!
We’ve officially finished out fourth week and I couldn’t be happier with our progress and the facility.
When I signed up I only had to pay a $ 5.00 start up fee paying $ 23.00 a month for 24 months. My first payment doesn’t come out until April plus Enrique (the guy who got me signed up) gave me two weeks passes for some friends to try out the gym!
We go every Monday-​Friday from 4:30AM-7AM and I love that this location is ²⁴⁄₇! It works great with our busy schedules and at the time we go the gym is relatively empty.
Nice selection of gym equipment plus they just purchased all new smart machines that count your reps! Love!
They have a lap pool, a sauna, and even an all women’s gym for the girls who don’t feel comfortable working out in the open gym.
The staff is always friendly and encouraging! They remember our names when we come in and I can definitely appreciate customer service like that.
Plus they have their own little juice bar that while it is a little pricy is super convenient! Great selection of Protein packed blends and healthy eating options which is great for those days our workouts run over and were rushing to work.
I would recommend this location to anyone looking to take the step to get back into shape!

I have completed 2 of the the 26 month contracts with LVAC since moving out here in the late 90’s. I did it once in 2000 and again in 2006. After that, I would renew every year by paying the year in advance upfront for a good price. Well in December of 2014, I missed the expiration of the deal by 4 days and they then refused to honor the deal.
When I called customer «service”(the Maryland Parkway location), they pretty much had a «tough sh*t» attitude about the whole situation. They said my only options were a) renew for a 3^rd — 26 month contract (I don’t think so) or b) wait to see if they would send another renewal offer. The representative literally told me to just keep checking the mail and see if they decided to extend the offer again. Suffice it to say that here it is, over a year later, and that offer never came. The gyms are large and well equipped, but the service is completely pathetic! I have patiently waited to see if I would ever receive any kind of fair offer, short of a new contract that anybody who fell on the planet in the last 5 minutes could simply walk in and get, and it just never happened. Nice way to insult someone who was a loyal and paying patron for the better part of the past decade. Thank you so much. (*sarcasm*)
The facilities are awesome, yet the service and the attitude of the company simply sucks!
I have been extraordinarily patient in giving LVAC the benefit of the doubt before posting this update, but after 14 months… time is up.

CAUTION: ZERO STARS based on their business. They trap you with their ridiculous contracts! I initially signed up for this gym because its location was convenient and the individual who enrolled me had informed me that if I ever needed to cancel at any time, the cancellation fee would be $ 50, so I thought «not bad.» When I ended up moving back home, in another state, I called to cancel. They told me I would need to provide multiple proofs of relocation (i.e. NEW state ID, mortgage or electricity bills in my name addressed to an out-​of-​state address, mail for new address, etc.) If I couldn’t provide two forms of proof, then I’d have to pay the 2 years in FULL in order to cancel. Mind you, I’ve only had the membership for about 4 months at that time. So I’d have to pay approximately $ 600 for a gym I can’t even go to! I cancelled my debit card they were using for my automatic payments, then they put my remaining balance into collections, which affected my credit score! They are horrendous! I live back with my parents, so I don’t have any bills to send as proof, and I’m NOT going to purchase a new ID because I don’t need one.
THEY ARE SCAMMERS! Any gym is better than LVAC!!!

The facility on Karen has poor maintenance, and the hygiene of its guests need to be reevaluated. Spitting, coughing, grunting, blowing noses, UNshowered, loud individuals should not be allowed in the pool or sauna area.
I have low back issues and the sole reason for joining the gym was to use the pool area. Due to poor maintenance and management I can count the number of times I have used the facility in two years and each time I leave more disappointed.
The initial membership does not meet the expectation promised to it’s guests.
The rat race of urging the public to join this overcrowded and disgusting gym rather than evaluate their character and hygiene so that it would not be detrimental to the facility is the reason canceling my membership.
The staff’s poor judgment of making this gym a healthy place to work out had rather created a disease infested facility leaving its guests ill with an unwanted return.
I am appalled at the «nickel and diming» and bullying their members. When I called to update my expired CC on file they hit you with an additional $ 28 fee (20,5,3). I waited days not weeks to call and updated and was still hit with the fee.
I immediately cancelled. This place is terrible.
24 hours fitness is the same cost and a much better gym that holds it integrity, service, quality, and trust. I was a member for years and made the mistake of the leaving. Sometime the grass isn’t always greener.

My boyfriend used to go to this gym
For years before he moved to the west side of town. He said that it always got the job done but he mentioned a few complaints. The staff was always a hit or miss, depending on whose working. Half the staff are friendly and half the staff could care less about this place. There were times when the staff failed to keep the place clean or failed to reorganize weights for an extended period of time. He now goes to the W. Sahara location and loves it there. He also said that this location seems to have been forgotten by management since it seems very old and outdated.

The Not So Good. The décor is dated. It is not the cleanest. Steam clean the tile floors!
This is one of the older clubs so if your are looking for a club, just think of this one as a convenient location if you happen to be downtown.

This location has a lot of negative comments and a negative reputation, but I personally enjoy the retro time-​warp of a gym. Yes, it feels AWESOME knowing that I just time traveled back to the 1980’s or 1990’s!
On a more serious note, this gym does the job. The size isn’t as big as other gyms, and some of the machines are a little older, but it really does have everything you need along with friendly staff and a generally good atmosphere (nicer crowd, less pervs, more people who actually go to the gym for the gym). I always go during the day so there doesn’t seem to be too much of a crowd and parking is readily available.
On the plus side, there is a car wash located in this parking lot so you can conveniently get your car washed while you work out! :)
I have been to the other LVAC locations and they are definitely cleaner and bigger, but they don’t make you feel retro so it isn’t as cool! ;)

If you dream of running into Zac Morris and AC Slater, this is the place to stake out. I know other folks refer to the Sahara location as the «Saved by the Bell» gym but this one takes the cake– décor is straight out of 1982 with neon lights, seafoam green accents, and guys in sweatbands.
The other oddly-​dated thing about this place is the lack of females. I haven’t yet made it in to a cardio class, but when I drop in just to use the equipment, there’s like a 36:1 dude-​to-​lady ratio, no exaggeration. In some ways I like that, everyone here is focusing on their fitness and leaving one another alone.

Haters gonna hate — but non-​poseurs who are dedicated to FITNESS (such as myself) recognize that this gym is the SHIT!
First off, all these other reviewers bitching about the membership fees better check themselves — there is NO other value to even compare. When you first sign up, it’s around $ 22/​month. — recockulously cheap compared to other gyms with comparable facilities and number of locations. After your initial 2-​year contract expires, you have the option to renew for around $ 125 a *YEAR* — that’s TEN DOLLARS A MONTH. How fucking cheap do you have to be to bitch about that?! I get the feeling everyone on here who’s complaining about the fees is a lard-​ass who’s secretly looking for any reason to avoid working out.
Fees aside, unlike «other» LVAC locations, this humble, old-​ass location is never choked with fake-​titted idiots and ‘roided-​out douchebags (we do get a few… but are never choked with them). The clientele here is an unpretentious mix of old folks, blue-​collar types, Latinos and random-​ass weirdos. In other words… my crew! Since no one can afford a car, there’s always plenty of parking… and the juice bar never has a line :)
Size-​wise, it doesn’t feel smaller than the newer locations — the women’s gym is maybe even bigger than the other locations’, and there’s plenty of room in the main weight area, with all the machines they have at the other gyms. Pool and sauna are comparable as well. There’s no indoor track… but who the fuck cares?
Smell-​wise, I don’t notice any weird odors here, and I’m super-​anal about that stuff. It feels and smells clean to me – the bathrooms as well.
I’ve been working out here since 2003 (!!!) and I’m here to tell you, it’s LEGIT. Fuck all the haters, and especially fuck the poseurs who prance and preen at the suburban LVACs. I’d rather work out here any day — the parking lot is well-​lit and patrolled, and there’s WAY LESS FAKE-TITTED/‘ROIDED-OUT MORONS hogging the machines.
If you’re serious about fitness, and not going to the gym to pick up chicks/​dudes, then you will enjoy working out here.

Did I just step in a time machine back to the ’80’s? This gym is a trip! Tons of equipment, free weights, cardio, pumping music, racquetball, juice bar, pool, and more. $ 20 for a 24 hour pass that can be used again if arriving within that time span. Pastel colors and seafoam green paddings on equipment everywhere! LOL — love it!
I worked out here for a few days recently while in town for a convention. Only about a mile away from the Las Vegas Hilton. Front desk staff was easy to deal with and explained that as long as I used the same pass within 24 hours I can come back again so I got in two days of workouts. In the early morning it was not that crowded and easy to get on any rack or bench I needed. Win!
Juice bar made some tasty protein smoothies and was a perfect breakfast meal while heading back to the hotel. Overall, from what I saw the gym was clean and the equipment well maintained. I would definitely come back here when on biz in Vegas, and recommend to anyone looking for a day pass.
I don’t know about the other reviewers here complaining about the staff, equipment, gym size, but I wish this type of gym was up here in NYC where I live!
