Las Vegas Convention Center

I have had to attend trade convention here and many years now, at this awful excuse for a convention center. Finally HAD to write this including pictures. We were told to park in the platinum parking lot, behind the center; walked all the way up to the South Hall doors, they were locked. Mind you, we could see random construction workers/​security workers, they just looked at us. Then we were told to walk around outside through the construction, squeezing through barriers — walked through junk, (see pictures – not just us also two other women had to get inside this way.) It was appalling! Inside are some more pics to show that this place has never heard of attention to detail. And what is going on with the CONSTANT construction going on around there? I have also previous years been in meeting rooms and ZERO water or other drinks available. This place sucks and it’s unfortunate when guests have no choice really. CORRUPT.

This is an ok place, very extended, but where they fail is both a lack of organization and a lack of detail. I get the impression that they’re doing the whole «too big to fail/​only game in town» thing. Probably they are? Maybe they are? Doesn’t matter, they are far from perfect or even ideal.
Signage here could be a lot better, but layout and creating lines seems to be more of their forte than it should be. Staffing is mostly friendly and does a good job of handling crowds, but teetering on the brink of chaos as a way of running things is definitely not ideal. Solid, but lots of room for improvement. This is one of those places you only go if you have to, I’d say and avoid like the plague at all other times.

Having been in numerous Convention Centers, they are all similar to each other. This one is really no different than most. Large Halls can accommodate big shows/​conventions. As expected, because they are located in Vegas, you can expect a much larger than usual space. It’s located right off the Vegas monorail, so if you’re staying in a casino, access is pretty good. They even have free bus service to many hotels/​casinos as well. It is clean with plenty of bathrooms. I wish they had more food services, but you’re in Vegas so you should go off site for meals any ways.

After having not been to the Convention Center in a very long time I went in with wishing for the best. I happened to be there for two specifics events and attend both on this day. The 2015 Coaches Clinic and the yearly Cowboy Christmas event, so I will be providing a brief overview of both and the Convention Center itself.
The Coaches Clinic was ok I thought the vendor area could have been laid out better, with more items being demonstration the sessions were good with knowledgeable instructors, and an amazing lunch. The labels indicating softball and or baseball were hand written and seems last minute. This brought down the professionalism of the event a little. All in all not a bad little conference to attend.
Cowboy Christmas was held in the South Halls and was a very large convention. None of the booths were spectacular (The ones at Mandalay Bay over the last couple years seemed better.) although is was in a large convention hall it was very packed, which is a testimate to the success of the event, but a little annoying to maneuver through. I love this event though and will be coming back again and again.
Ad for the Convention Center itself this spacious building can accommodate several conventions at the same time with ease. The carpets, walls, and seating chairs throughout need a lengthy cleaning or to be revamped. Both times I had to use the bathrooms they were easy to find, and clean. Only downfall is I had to search for a sink that had soap. They have added several restaurants and eateries that add to convenience which is a great touch, and the staff wondering around the building was very friendly.
All in all a great place to have a conference. Some small improvements to the décor would push this to a five star establishment. I will be giving this four stars as 3 ½ is not an option, but definitely would not hesitate to attend another show, expo or conference here.

Visited this place for the past 2 years for Mr. Olympia. Both times were very pleasing. The venue is very open and pretty large. Numerous fitness events all happening at the same time and still the space was not crowded. The staff also kept the place pretty clean. Easy access to restrooms including signs as well as handicap accessible too. Great venue for events!

I guess I expected better (more organized, more updated, more food options?), considering Vegas is largely hyped as the Convention Capital of the World. Interesting educational side note: Atlanta actually has roughly the same square footage of convention space as Vegas, but it’s significantly less popular.
PROS:
Lots of parking (which they don’t appear to charge for?), convenient downtown location, accessible by the monorail, helpful staff directing traffic at entrances, clean facilities, Starbucks on site, looks small on the outside but it’s actually pretty massive.
CONS:
Typical overpriced and poor quality convention food available, less options than expected (previous restaurant in lobby by Starbucks is now closed), limited signage to navigate your way around (hence the need for helpful staff), outdated bathrooms.
I rarely attend conventions to begin with, and I appreciate the business ($$$) that conventions bring to our city, but considering planners have several options for convention centers here in town (most of the hotels have space, Sands center, Cashman is available, etc.) I think this one needs to step up their game a little.

Awe, yes, Las Vegas the land of conventions and yes I’m guilty of attending more than a few of these held at this Convention Center over the years. I think most employees try to sell this to their bosses as an important part of doing business and a chance to network with the industry leaders which is required in the competitive market we operate in these days and for the most part that is true but there are also always some self-​serving interest being served here. Most companies understand both ends of the spectrum when it comes to conventions and rewarding those that earn their keep by allowing them to attend these venues usually goes a long ways with those that need a little something extra when it comes to compensation to feel good about themselves so these are relatively inexpensive pecks to break the monotony during the year and hopefully something positive will be learned and their representative won’t be arrested and end up on the national news.
I find most convention centers rather boring these mammoth structures are constructed to maximize uninterrupted usable space that conventional building construction doesn’t address, except of course airplane hangers which makes my point since both are rather boring in my opinion.
So this convention center doesn’t wow me in any sense of the imagination and besides being just plain ugly they are very uncomfortable spaces that have minimum air changes and are rather stuffy in regards to air quality. So as unimpressed as I am with the brick and mortar I continue to come for all the reasons listed above including some self-​serving interest being this is Vegas. I am not so sure these venues would be as popular even though the same work benefits could be accomplished if they were located in places like Arkansas or Kentucky for instances or a hundred more less exciting place than Vegas or Chicago. It no accident Vegas attracts so many of these multimillion dollar extravagances each year I know I have no interest in spending a week in let’s say Wisconsin lol…

Attended this center for a ISSA convention. The environment is large, but you can feel the age of the building. The upper conference rooms smell musty and the carpets are old and dirty.
The most disgusting area was the bathrooms on actual showroom floor that were upstairs. The stairs and flooring going up we’re very dirty, low lighting and the bathrooms were really gross.
Would not be excited to attend an event at this convention center again.

Just at the NACS show. Crazy large! Stay at a hotel near the monorail for easy transportation to-​and-​from.
Über, taxis, shuttle buses also available but plan on 30+ min trip because of Vegas traffic. Monorail was about a 5 minute walk, and 10 minute ride to our hotel (Harrahs). Monorail runs every 8 minutes.
Shop online for monorail tickets at a discount $ 33 — 5 day unlimited ride pass.
Setup and dismantle of booth is not easy at convention. Aisles are too small. Give yourself an extra day.

Food service is not acceptable. Pouring new product on top of existing product in warmers.
Short staff, long lines, and multiple outlets. Trash cans not empty often enough.
Temperature of convention space with 2,500 too stagnant, hot, uncomfortable.
This is my 3^rd visit. Standards have changed, and not for the best.

This convention center is HUGE!!! So far everything has been very organized. It’s clean and it’s also very conveniently located. I’m staying at the MGM and took the Vegas monorail here. It’s the first time I’ve ever taken the monorail (I will have to review that later). I paid $ 28.00 and its good for 3 full days. I don’t mind walking but this would have been a far walk. The whole travel process depends on how long u have to wait for the monorail. I waited like 5 minutes today. I got here in about 20 but yesterday I didn’t have to wait so got here in 15 min.
The bathrooms are clean and they also have a Starbucks and a food court down stairs. Although, they set up this convention with food up here for pay and some drinks too.
The Wedding Merchant Business Academy has been worth my $ so far. I’m learning a lot and I have met so many people in the industry as well as lots of cool other stuff to further my wedding planning career.
It does get cold in here so bring a sweater!!! Or dress fairly warm. And comfy shoes. There are two sides to the convention center so make sure you know if you are going to the north or south building prior to showing up.

I enjoyed attending the Society of Human Resource Management national conference here this past week. Their were over 15,000 attendees, but it didn’t feel too crowded since the convention center is so large and easily accommodated everyone. The convention center is accessible via the Las Vegas monorail, which made getting to and from different areas on the strip easy. There are a couple restaurants inside (including a Starbucks) so you don’t have to leave for meals.

Came here for some nerd stuff, and by nerd stuff I mean the Magic the Gathering Grand Prix. This place is massive! It seems to be a perfect venue for tournaments, indoor festivals, sample sales, etc. Also, it is close by public transportation such as the Monorail, and bus lines so it’s easy to access if you don’t feel like driving.

I was expecting better things from the Las Vegas Convention Center. It’s pretty big, so I’ll give it that. I visited the Las Vegas Convention Center for the Wizard World Comic Con. Oddly enough, a car wash convention was taking place in another area of the convention center at the same time. Really? People go to car wash conventions? Anyways…
There were only 2 food options in the Comic Con area: A pizza place and a hamburger place. Both were outrageously expensive for extremely sub par food. The first day of the Con we ate at the hamburger joint. I ordered a veggie burger with fries, and my dining partner ordered a burger combo. The total came to an astounding $ 27 + change. You’re killing me smalls! The food was, uh, edible.
TIP: Try not to at the Convention Center if you can help it.
Parking in the convention lot was $ 10 and was limited. Most lots were full, too. However, we parked across the street in a lot for free! (If you look across the street on the corner, there’s a walkway and elevator that links to another parking lot. More walking involved but it beats the $ 10 price tag).
Unilocal 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #102

I was here today for Wizard World Comic Con.
The Covention center is easy to get to with close proximity to the strip. The parking area is also easily accessed for a fee of ten dollars.
There is a north and south side to the covention center. This event was held on the south side. Its a large venue but easy to navigate. There are a couple restaurants on site including Nathans hot dogs. Dont settle for the nine dollar pizza slice (tasty but pricey).
The Wizard World con itself was pretty interesting. I got to meet two of my favorite characters which was awesome. Theres a lot of the same merchandise being sold at each booth so shop around. The Q and As were organized well. This gave me a preview of what to expect when I go to Comic Con in San Diego this year. Just on a much smaller scale.

This convention center was MASSIVE! I guess everything in Vegas is always over the top. I attended the 2015 NAB conference here for work. And there were rows and rows of great booths and everything seemed organized.
The flags labeling the sections at the top of the ceilings were extremely helpful for locating booths and colleagues.
Beware that there are different buildings and different floors so it is best to map out ahead of time the booths or floor shows you’d like to attend ahead of time if you have limited time.
If you find yourself hungry while at the convention center remember the food is always better on the 2^nd floor of all buildings. Don’t settle for the first food stand you see.

This was my finest experience as a conventioneer, for the Bar & Nightclub Expo.
Can’t think of a more fitting experience for Vegas. I barely remember my CES experience years ago, as it was quite different than this one.
Getting in was easy, the line kept moving and it only took a few minutes. It got crowded later in the day but not that crazy CES crowded. I enjoyed being there when it opened and perusing the booths without crowds of booze hounds everywhere. Finding the restrooms was a little sketchy, but it’s an older facility. One can walk from the Westgate to the CC, and I parked at a friend’s place for the expo due to my lack of knowledge about the parking.

I’ve been to the Las Vegas Convention Center for many different trade shows through the years and throughout the year from the ASD in the beginning of the year to the SEMA show towards the end of the year.
It’s a good venue, very large and I think can accommodate any event… dare I even say «San Diego International Comic Con» which there were once rumors as to moving to LA or Vegas at one point too.
The convention halls are large, sort of spread apart, so the convention center can host multiple events simultaneously.
It’s on the end of the strip towards the Venetian /​Wynn and getting a hotel is easy, since you can go lower end with the Circus Circus (sometimes rooms as cheap as $ 20 or less) and the soon to be demolished Riviera, or the higher end of the SLS, Venetian, Wynn, etc. and many other options in-​between.
Parking seems limited, but there’s both hotel shuttles, taxi cabs and it’s walking distance for many able bodied folks who want to venture on that journey depending on the weather /​time of year.
I’d recommend this as a great venue for any trade show, convention, conference or expo considering holding an event in Las Vegas.

This is my 2^nd time here at LVCC and my wife’s first time. We came to the ASD tradeshow. This tradeshow was huge and can’t believe how busy it was. We came to tis tradeshow for a business we are trying to work on. They do have a FedEx Kinko’s business center and a small food court that includes a Starbucks.
LVCC provides a large space for conventions and shows.
The main parking lot which was right in front of the convention was full. This parking lot was not big. So we had to park across the convention center and this lot was very big. I thought we would have to cross the street to get to the convention center, but instead it has a building that takes us to the convention center which was convenient.
The only bad thing was that it is hard to find hotel parking and the convention parking was $ 10.00. They do have a shuttle, but no need to take the shuttle.

Came here for Magic, was mostly in the NORTH end of the convention center. The Starbucks line is always LONG! Not the best selection of food. Also, the taxi line gets super long after the show, it’s about a 15 – 20 minute wait. Some hotels do offer free shuttle buses. Tip: get coffee before coming here & eat before.
