I came here to do a firearm registration transfer. I had never been to this location before, and I won’t likely be back. First off, there was NO parking. There is barely space to turn around your car in the lot. Literally, there are about 15 public parking spaces in front of the building. I came here at 3:30 pm on a Tuesday, and the lot was full. I ended up parking on the street and having to walk a couple blocks in a «great» neighborhood by myself. It took us 40 minutes just to get a number and another hour to see someone. When we did get our number, she just asked what we were there for, and I said«firearm registration» and she shortly handed me the form with no explanation. There were only 2 people working the windows and an entire lobby of people waiting. Additionally the window bays are very very close to the seating area, so you can hear everything that people are saying. My heart went out to the woman reporting a domestic violence situation. She was very emotional and everyone could clearly hear her personal details. When I got to the window, there was confusion about the registration. Because her previous lack of communication, we had improperly filled out the forms. The clerk had no problem showing me she was peeved with me. As a tax payer, I certainly appreciate the services they provide, but as a law abiding citizen who was trying to legally transfer a firearm registration for the first time, I would’ve liked a bit more communication and help.
