Hello, my name is Romeo. I have multiple rentals all over the Vegas valley. This is the 2^nd time I had hired Legacy Air come out and help me w/​Heating and Air issues. Regarding this issue (issue was that the fan would not stop blowing). Legacy first had a young gentleman come out and look at my unit. The young gentleman spent a lot of time on it but could not fix it, so they had Dean Knight come out the very next day. Dean is a total class act! I guess he’s been in the HVAC tech business for a while. I asked him a lot of questions and he was able to answer everything very quickly and seemingly knowledgeably. Because it took them more than the one day, (and I was a repeat customer), they were able to give a discount. I’ve dealt with many different HVAC companies in LV over the last 6 years as a landlord. I felt super comfortable w/​Dean. Hopefully Legacy sees the quality they have in their employee Dean. Since I’ve been doing this for so long wherever Dean ends up, my business goes! Thanks a lot Dean and thank you Legacy!

I unfortunately had a negative experience with legacy air. I was charged 3 separate labor amounts for the replacement of one small control board (which wasn’t left for me to inspect). My recommendation is to very careful check your bill before you pay. Most customers are in a bind when HVAC Services are required and unfortunately this leads to uninformed decisions. Diagnostics, Parts and services and labor is redundant and is just price gouging in my opinion. Next time I will get a second opinion before paying what ever amount is quoted.

A few days ago our heater went out. It just happened that Y_​S! Service had just set an appointment as part of our service contract.
When the technician came over, I explained that the heater had just gone out and it appeared that this service time was perfect.
Well, in less than 15 minutes, we were told that the whole HVAC system was shot and it would be a waste of money to repair the system. Coils were completely impacted, blower wasn’t working and on and on… BUT, for $ 10,000.00, Y_​S! Service could replace everything and by the way there was a special of $ 500 credit special going on.
Stunned, I said I had to think about it.
By the way, the technician never tested the system…
I immediately went on Unilocal and looked for reviews. Legacy Air was at the top.
I called the office and asked to set an appointment. I also relayed to the gal who answered the phone what I was told by Y_​S! «We really prefer to see if we can repair a unit rather than recommend the purchasing of a new unit. Let’s take a look first before we go to the purchase route.» WOW! I liked that all ready.
In less that 2 hours, we received a phone call from Mario letting us know he was only 10 minutes away and would be there to look at our unit.
When Mario arrived, I explained to him what was going on with the heater.
He looked at the thermostat and then went to look at the unit.
In 20 minutes, Mario had the heater working.
Mario replaced a capacitor — $ 123.00
Mario stayed and extra 20 minutes to insure that the unit was working properly and he replaced our filters — what more could I ask for? ;-)
Nothing wrong with the unit, good for a few more years.
We are definitely having Mario come back in Spring to service the HVAC!
Say NO to Y_​S! Services and YES to Legacy Air

I called and left a message Saturday evening and Carissa called me back Sunday morning and was very helpful. I asked for a ballpark estimate on the job (with the understanding that it could be higher if the problem was more extensive than what I was describing) and she gave me an estimate that was spot on. She also (understandably) re-​iterated that it was just an estimate and that it could change based on what the tech found. She managed to schedule someone to come out that same day and within 45 minutes, the tech, Mario, was at my house.
Mario was knowledgeable and very helpful. He was very fair with what he charged me for and how much he charged me. There were a couple things that some other companies might have nickel and dimed me over, but Mario did not. The final price actually ended up being under what I was thinking and what Carissa had estimated, so I was happy.

This will be Legacy Air’s 185^th review and they still have 5 stars! That is quite impressive especially for a Vegas company.
I have rentals in town and have called them twice for Hvac issues on one of the houses. Mario didn’t take any shortcuts and tried to rule out all possibilities before making a diagnosis. It’s a big deal especially when the suspected problem is the AC compressor! Unfortunately it turned out to be the compressor. He was able to replace it at a fair price.
Just today Mario promptly fixed an issue with one of the furnaces in one of my rentals and was proactive about doing maintenance on the home’s second furnace to prevent the same from happening even without me asking.
Don’t hesitate to call Legacy if you have any type of Hvac issues. Ask for Mario.

There’s a reason this company is the only one with over 180 five-​star reviews, and I’m SO glad I chose them. I called late this morning, and spoke to Anita. I explained to her that I was hoping to speak to a technician to see if he was familiar with my system (Aquatherm-​pain-​in-​the-​a$$), and the problems I was having BEFORE setting up an appointment. I had been though a nightmare after dealing with a plumbing company that has not been able to resolve the issue in the last 12 days (all while I’ve been without either hot water or heat, sometimes both).
Anita said «absolutely. I know exactly who to put you in touch with. Give me your number and I’ll have him call you». I gave her my number, and figured I wouldn’t hear back for a long time (if at all). Well, 10 minutes later, Dean was calling me. I explained what was happening, and the plumbing company’s inability to resolve it. He told me he was familiar with my system, and with plumbing, and that he was relatively sure he knew what the issue was.
Guess what? He was 100% right. When he got to the issue, which was a check valve located behind the cartridge in the circulator pump, he showed me what the real problem was… A small pebble of debris that kept the valve open allowing backflow. Oh, and guess how it got there? When the plumber that installed the improper water heater didn’t purge the system properly. Granted, Dean could have lied and said it needed to be replaced, or that the entire pump needed replacement, but he didn’t. He was totally honest, and didn’t have me fix anything that didn’t need fixing. I should also point out that he bled the air in the system the CORRECT way — which was not done once during the 5 – 6 times the plumbing company did it throughout this ordeal.
Dean also pointed out that the electrical box for the pump is never supposed to be mounted on the bottom (which is something I had read in the online-​installation manual earlier in the morning). So, Dean rotated it making sure it was now safe and installed properly.
12 days of aggravation, guess work, multiple water heaters, and disappointment after disappointment, all fixed in 90 minutes with Dean. I don’t regret having called the plumber first, since it revealed that they installed the wrong water heater last February, and now I’m at least running my system properly, but MY GOODNESS — I wish I had called Legacy at the same time. I would have saved myself so much grief.
I’ve been so conditioned these past two weeks to the problem being resolved for 20 minutes, only to go back to broken, that I can’t stop checking to see if the hot water is still working. Several hours later, and it is. Hopefully it lasts.
Legacy, you guys are amazing! I can’t believe how friendly and accommodating Anita was, and Dean is the BEST! Thanks again for putting an end to this nightmare.

I had a similar experience to another reviewer where the invoice was not broken down as far as parts and labor. It would be nice to see when comparing against other reviewers/​competitors. Also, I requested a video inspection of my duct but never received a video. Regardless if my duct needed cleaning or not, what’s the point of advertising free video inspection of your ducts when you don’t do it?
From Legacy’s website: «Pricing is difficult to give over the phone as everyone’s needs are different, and this is why we offer Free video inspections. We can’t tell you if only your ducts need to be cleaned or if your air handler and coils should be cleaned as well. Our certified technician will come to your property, take pictures and video, and then show you what exactly needs to be cleaned and why. He will then leave the quote with you, which will be good for 90 days; No high pressure sales techniques ever!» I received no video AND no pics.
The cleaning was ok but nothing any other HVAC company couldn’t do better for less. I probably wouldn’t use Legacy Air again and would look elsewhere for future HVAC services.

Love these guys. A/​C repair seems to have a bit of a bad reputation, since a few bad companies capitalize on the urgency to overcharge customers.
I called Legacy after my A/​C stopped turning on (just made a buzzing sound). It was after 8:00pm, so I left a message and waited for a call back. Unfortunately, when they called back the next day, they did not have time for me until the following afternoon, but I figured it was worth a wait for good service. Tech showed up on time and explained the failure. Since the problem could have been caused by one of two parts (fan motor or capacitor), they changed the least expensive one (capacitor) and told me that if the fan motor was the problem they would fix it and include another capacitor for free (within 30 days). Three weeks later, it is still running great. Definitely recommend!

I have a very strange very old swamp cooler in the garage. The kids decided to turn the garage into a rec room and the swamp cooler wouldn’t power on. I understand this is a small job and possibly not worth a big company’s time but Legacy didn’t make me feel that way at all. The tech was polite and respectful. He was honest about the work needed. He replaced a small water fitting and the plug on the end of the electrical cord. It was a small job and he priced it fairly. The garage is cold now and the kids are making noise out there instead of in the house while I’m trying to sleep. Thank you for that!!!
I do have two AC units in the house and others at rental properties and business properties. The next time I have a bigger job this is the company I will call.

5 Stars for service; 3 stars for price.
Dave is on the Pricey side. The office told me that my job is 475 $ flat price. I asked the office to break down the price and they wouldn’t. The board is about $ 150 OEM on Amazon which leaves about 325 $ for the labor. My fan relay board was shot, He had a universal board in the truck. His pricing was way too fat, he used an after market board, which I’m sure is much less.
Now on the other side this guy is fast and accurate and amazing service. He fixed it within 2 hrs of my call. It’s fixed and no worries with Dave. If you want to price it out you can do better but not service wise and dependability, cuz Dave is it. Dave texted me a photo of the burned board as I’m a thousand miles across the country. That is service 5 star. So for a once in 10 year repair this company deserves the money.

These guys are AWESOME. Awwwwwesome!!! My downstairs AC unit stopped working on a Saturday. Not cool on a 108 Vegas day. The expense of having a company come out on a Sunday scared me but it had to be done. I called these guys and left a message. They not only called me back within the hour but was able to get David, the technician out to the house soon after the initial call. He was even earlier than the scheduled time span and he called when he was on his way. It ended up being a very simple battery fix and he was done. David was so professional and friendly and very trustworthy which is hard to find.
I use Unilocal to find professionals and read reviews before calling any company. I am the type to always price compare and get three reviews. Will I recommend ‘Legacy Air?’ ABSOLUETELY YES.

They charged me $ 195 to replace a $ 15 dual run capacitor. The operator quoted me $ 59 for inspection and $ 60 per hour for the labor + parts and no inspection fee if I decided to to the repair.
The technician spent less than 30 minutes fixing the problem and send me a bill for $ 195. I want him to put down the part number on the invoice and separate the part cost and labor cost. He refused. When I complained about the high price, he started to throw the travel cost, gas cost, phone operator cost, insurance cost, etc.
So my advice is to find other company that is fair and stick to their original quote.

After all the raving Unilocal reviews, I thought I might have found a winner. However, this was not the case. I scheduled an appointment over two weeks ago for a complete system check-​up and possible major work and they gave me a four hour window that they would be here in. The lady that assisted me on the phone was very polite and called right back to schedule the appointment. Well, today is the day and they were a no show! I am very disappointed and will not be calling for another appointment. If you can’t call me the night before to confirm the appointment or keep the schedule, I don’t have confidence in the business practices. I recommend you have a plan b person before calling this company.
Update:
Dave contacted me after posting my review and got me squared away. It appears that a scheduling problem had occurred and he wanted to make good on it. I obliged and I am glad we did! When he arrived he was very professional and took the time to listen to my problem and give me options and advice. I liked that he was conservative on his approach to things and that he didn’t want to just throw parts and money at something that didn’t need it. I will definitely call Legacy Air again and have him check things out before next season.

Update: I originally left a 1-​star review (below), but the owner, Dave, takes great pride in his business and followed up with me quickly to make sure that my AC system is working properly. He said that he would send a different team out to the house to re-​inspect the system and ensure that everything is working properly. I appreciate the follow up and dedication to customer service.

Called Legacy to check out an 18 year old A/​C unit that had not had problems previously. Called on Saturday and left message during business hours and a woman called back later and left a follow up message. Called again Monday and earliest appointment was Wednesday.
After determining that there was a leak in the freon lines without running any tests for leaks (technician stated that it must have a leak because the freon was low), technician stated that my options were to refill freon and hope it holds, run a leak test (he recommended against it because he said it could cause more leaks?), or replace the entire AC system (of course they would probably prefer that).
I asked if he could use a sealant in case of a tiny leak and technician said it wouldn’t work– his explanation was not convincing.
Overall, based on my discussion with the technician, I felt like these guys were trying to take advantage of the fact that it is a rental property and I am not available to be there in person in order to upsell a brand new AC system.
Finally, after being quoted $ 100 for the repair over the phone, the final bill was $ 125.

Woke up and my ac didn’t seem to be cooling. I have a 4mo old and can’t have him in 100+ heat so I called Legacy on the recommendation of a friend. I called before 8am on a Monday figuring I’d be getting a hotel room for a day or two because they would be backed up but he said he would be right over… awesome!
He arrived and got right to work, I figured I was gonna have to sell off some investments to pay for this $ 10k Job but he was completely honest and said it would only be about $ 150. After he put 1 ½ pounds of refrigerant in my system it was back to working like it always had. This system is 20 years old and has never had any maintenance. I offered him a tip for coming over so fast and doing a job he could have charged me way more for but this is the way to do business and build a customer relationship, he wouldn’t accept the tip. I will use Legacy Air anytime I ever have a need for my HVAC system…

I live in Sacramento… but my elderly parents live in a older home in Las Vegas… their AC went out and my parents called 3 companies out to take a look.
All 3 companies quoted $ 5000– $ 6000 for a new AC unit (one of the 3 companies was Sears).
Legacy came over on a Sunday, went up on the roof on a blazing Las Vegas afternoon and fixed my parent’s unit for a service call fee ($ 70).

Vegas in June is already hot. This year we are having a heat wave. I know… So, instead of 98 – 99 degrees, it’s 112 – 113. My dad suggests that we have the air conditioner looked at, «just in case». We’ve had the damn thing 20 years and we have never had it checked. I told him we will be opening a can of worms…
But, like a good daughter, I start doing my research. I, of course, resort to Unilocal to check out a couple of places, get an estimate, time frame, etc… I left a message at two places and they never called me back. Both had 5 star ratings. Makes a girl wonder how you can get a five star rating if you don’t answer the effen phone or return calls. Legacy Air, on the other hand, answered right away! I set up an appointment and I was told $ 59 for the check up and that Alejandro would be the person coming to our house.
On the scheduled date and time Alejandro, (I just like saying that name. Ya know the Lady Gaga song Alejandro…) Anywhoo Alejandro was on time. That’s a plus in my book. He asked me if the unit was having any issues I said not really. It’s 20+ years old and we just want a maintenance check. To some, that could mean $$ and estimates based on the age and not the health of the machinery. Alejandro took his time to check everything inside the house and out. He explained in detail the results of all his findings and said the unit was in great working order. I kept waiting for the bomb to drop and for him to say, however, you need an arm, a leg and a pint of blood to repair the blah blah… He said that will be $ 59. My dad said pay the man before he changes his mind! ;)
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Legacy Air for their commitment to customer service/​satisfaction, integrity and honesty. Not to mention their professionalism and expertise!
You heard me!

Amanda, Anita, and Carissa at Legacy Air were all super professional. Amanda modestly downplayed her HVAC knowledge and then went on to describe the various parts of the system more intelligently than many servicemen I’ve interacted with.
With all their great Unilocal reviews, it’s no surprise that they are busy so the soonest they could give me a guaranteed appointment was three days away. When they had a cancellation they bumped us sooner one day. Then the service technician showed up early! (How often does THAT happen?)
Unfortunately, we needed a new compressor, the a/​c had been broken for a few days already, and it’s 110+ degrees so we had to go with someone else who could fix it today. But next time we are definitely calling Legacy Air FIRST.

Here is my review for Legacy. And the 4 things I learned from that experience.
I decided to give Legacy Air a try after I received an estimate from another company. The other guy said if he didn’t replace a certain part, the wires would start to burn up inside my house and also both compressors needed to be replaced very soon. He also said they will stop making the coolant for my compressors and it’s a good idea to switch to newer units which were better for the environment.
Now I’m all for a better environment and saving the world but the only green I saw was the bunch of dollar bills flying out my door into the hands of the other company.
I’m not that smart so what resource do I turn to? Unilocal!
And the first one was Legacy Air. 5 star rating? With over 124 reviews at the time? That can’t be true. So I read through some of them and was so impressed that I decided to give Legacy a try.
Dave came over to the house and I explained what the OTHER company said. He smiled and asked where the units were. About 30 minutes later, I had an explanation for everything that totally made sense, remember, I’m not that smart.
Long story short… and the four things I learned.
1) The wires to my house are not going to burn up. (Good to know my 4^th of July will be safe)
2) If the part needs replacing, it can be done easily and by me.
3) My compressors are good and don’t need to be replaced. So I’m being responsible by not ordering new environmentally friendly compressors which would further deplete our earth of resources. Meanwhile my old ones would have been hauled off to some landfill to further pollute the world.
4) Legacy Air is all that the other reviewers said and more. They are honest, upfront, and have integrity. I will definitely use them for all my HVAC needs.
And that’s their Legacy!

Unilocal to the rescue once again!
It’s a horrible feeling waking up to a warm house in the middle if summer. Not knowing which company to call doesn’t help either. Luckily our first place to search is Unilocal.Legacy Air had great reviews so we gave them a call.
The lady who answered was very nice and willing to have someone out within a few hours. Wow!
Dave arrived at our home at the scheduled time. He was great! He walked us through each step of his process determining what the problem could be. He made sure we were fully understanding of what he was seeing.
I’m so thankful for a company so reliable and trustworthy. There werent any sales pressures to put in a new ac unit. Our problem was fixed swiftly and easy on the wallet. I’d highly recommend them and their impeccable service!
