Linda Woodson Dermatology

I went here twice and after leaving with a «eh» feeling after both visits decided it was time to switch to another dermatologist.
My first visit I specifically requested Dr. Woodson herself after reading a lot of neutral to negative reviews for her PA and NP. After filling out a ton of paperwork (most of which was not very welcoming– I think I signed about three different forms promising I would definitely pay my bill or be sent to a debt collector. I get they want their money, but what a way to greet your new patients!) I went into the exam room and lo and behold PA John Notabartolo walks into the room. Since I was already there I just went with it. He examined my skin (I went in for some mild adult acne) for less than ten seconds, told me basic skin care advice that I’ve known about for years, and then wrote me some prescriptions. The whole visit with him lasted about three minutes. No real suggestions or overview of my current skin care régime, no explanation of the possible cause of my condition or what level of severity it was. Basically the only thing I couldn’t have found on my own online was the prescriptions.
As another reviewer noted, they tend to prescribe the newest brand name drugs and of course both of mine were brand name and expensive! Thankfully my insurance covered mine with a reasonable co-​pay, but definitely double check with your insurance before getting them filled. The prescriptions did help my skin, which was awesome. I went back for a follow up as they’d requested to see me in a few weeks and after waiting for over forty minutes past my appointment time was taken back with very little apology for the wait. Again another three minute visit with the PA with another very hurried skin examination and I left wondering why I’d wasted two hours of my time and another doctor’s bill.
Only one lady at the front desk was very friendly; everyone one else in the office seemed less than thrilled to be there. They did call with appointment reminders, which was nice, however the first time they left a voicemail with the time but not the date, and the second time they left a voicemail with one time and then called back and left another voicemail with a different time. Their bills also have the quickest due date I have ever seen. They give you 10 days from when they print the bill until the due date– but they seem to take 1 – 2 days to mail the bill (so 8 days left), plus 1 – 2 days in the mail (6 days left), so by the time you get it you have about 4 – 5 days to get it in the mail to make sure it arrives on time. You better hope you’re not on vacation when they send the bill!
The last in the chain of events to make me move on to a new doctor was when I called to reschedule my third appointment and was put on hold for 7 minutes and then was greeted by a bored sounding woman who barely apologized for the wait. Instead of rescheduling I just asked her to cancel. I hung up and smiled as I realized I’d successfully broken up with my doctor.
Nothing this office did was horrible, but nothing they did was great either. The little moments of what I consider mediocre medical care and blasé customer service just added up for me to the point where I didn’t want to deal with it anymore. There’s plenty of dermatology offices in this city and given the low reviews dating back for years I feel like this office isn’t that interested in improving their business– so I’ll just take mine elsewhere.

furthermore she does not do a very good job with a dermatology scan of your skin. On a second opinion from another MD, her «diagnosis» was WRONG. This office is not very well run and is more for cosmetic issues than actually dermatology problems. I do not recommend this practice to anyone.

The staff at the front was friendly. About an hour wait. The RN saw me. She seemed nice enough, but not very outgoing. She was unable to readily diagnose my condition. Took a biopsy test and ordered a blood test. Days later, came back for stitches to be removed. Only the biopsy results were on hand; no blood test. RN didn’t come in to talk to me. Instead, ordered another test through assistant, which I now think was unnecessary as the answer I needed was in that missing blood test results. Meanwhile, left feeling so uncertain about my health and had to wait another several days to go back to the office. I decided to cancel my 3^rd appt. Also, I had to go back to pharmacy a second time bec not all the meds came through at once.

Wish I could give a 0 star. My main doctor put in a referral with this office. Apparently scheduled the appointment for me because I do not recall having any appointment set up myself… 2 weeks ago got a no show bill for $ 25. Called the office yesterday, got told I was going to be called back today… I do not want to have anything to do with that place already… Oh and I’m firing my main doctor tol for referring me to this terrible doctor’s office.

Great doctor! Office staff is amazing my husband had some issues with his insurance and the office staff helped us get it figured out. Thanks Sarah for all your help!

I went to my first appointment at the Pecos location and found everyone to be very friendly. My appointment was 1pm and they had me in right at my scheduled time. I had my answers pretty quickly and was on my way!

This my second attempt at writing this, after the first I was sent off to join Unilocal and when I came backit seem I have to do it again. If you visit the Pecos office you had better have insurance OR DEEP POCKETS! Billing for a 10 minute «HealthHistory» was $ 239.93 …

pros:
Their PA, Erica, is nice with no nonsense.
cons:
They are inconsistent about calling with an appointment reminder, so don’t rely on it. Most recently they did call, which was a good thing considering they failed to process my appointment cancellation from a few days prior.
I have waited up to 1 hour before being seen, with an appointment, all the more time to stare at the walls that are filled with annoying ads for anti-​aging treatments (all targeted at women).
Like the other reviewer, I also had the experience where they failed to send the prescription over, and I had to make a second trip to the pharmacy.

Dr. Linda Woodson has been my dermatologist for several years. I have always received excellent service from her friendly and accommodating staff. She takes time to listen, observe and explain which is a very important part of effective medical care.
The helpful referral to an online pharmacy saved me a significant sum of money.
Dr. Woodson is a credit to her profession!

I’d love to make this –5 stars. Don’t go here. The doctor tries to make you use some mail order pharmacy then prescribes only brand name items when there ARE generic alternatives. My fiancé (the patient) expressed concern about changing the medication that has worked well in the past and was brushed off and given the newest brand name prescription that pharmacies don’t keep in stock and insurance companies don’t want to pay for. They are all about money here at Linda Woodson. Obviously they receive perks for sending patients to mail order pharmacies and for prescribing brand name drugs. Go somewhere that actually cares about your concerns, your finances, and your skin health because here you will only receive what makes them money.

I was a patient of Dr. Woodson for over 2 years. I am posting this in the event that anyone else has been given abhorrent treatment by her staff, especially Pam. I am a reasonable person and a skin cancer survivor. I make my appointments in advance, show up early and I call in advance to confirm my appointment. Unfortunately, appointments that are made (in my case a year) somehow «disappear» after «computer glitches». Come on Dr. Woodson, it’s time you manage your staff. I called and spoke with the Henderson office 2 weeks ago and confirmed my appointment to be seen by you. I show early for my appointment and I get accosted by a homeless man in your office (gee maybe you should get that front door fixed) and told that I do not have an appointment. Huh? After being treated poorly by the staff I patiently explained that I am disabled and it is a challenge to get there, how I am the bad guy? Pam, you are a dreadful person and I hope that everyone treats you the way you treat them. I was willing to drive across town to see Dr. Woodson until Pam continued unloading her aggression on me and made me more upset. Shame on you Pam that you enjoyed tormenting a disabled person, shame!
Your choice to not to keep appointments for your patients is very disappointing. Clearly, you don’t feel it is worth your time to honor appointments with your patients with a long history of melanoma. Sadly the only option you offer for a full body cancer screening is to be seen by a nurse. If this is an example of how you treat your patients, better luck on your music career. Don’t get me wrong, nurses are great but it is your name on the door, it is your medical practice and you are ultimately responsible.
If you are a new patient and looking for a dermatologist in the Vegas area, please do yourself a favor and keep looking; because even if you make an appointment with Dr. Woodson, who knows if she will be in the mood to show up. But if you like to be harassed by homeless people, made to feel stupid by people who clearly can’t use a pc, and are yelled at while asking for assistance, or just like to be abused, this is the office for you.
Dr. Woodson, good help is hard to find, but if you continue to allow your practice to be run in your absence by the crew you have now, you will not have a practice left. The best thing you can do is show up for your appointments and I strongly urge you to remove Pam from your practice, NO ONE deserves to be abused by such a revolting old woman.
Based upon the other reviews online, my horrible experience sounds like it is the standard for her practice. I was seen at the Henderson facility.

Preface: I make my review based on approximate four visits with the PA J. Notabartoloa, not with Dr. Woodson.
I have come back several times because the time was taken to discuss my concerns and to explain any prescriptions. However, my last visit has reversed most of the good accumulated. Hence, the two stars. I’ve never had a doctor’s office create so many strikes against it in one visit. Perhaps the PA was having a bad day, we all do– but it doesn’t excuse the lack of professionalism or courtesy.

I may return to the clinic itself to see other staff members, but both my husband (in the medical field himself) and I will not be returning to this PA.

After reading the reviews here it may have been a good idea that I wasn’t able to schedule an appointment. I tried calling to schedule an appointment and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back again and they hung up. Called back a third time and they put me hold again. This is way too much trouble to schedule an appointment. I was however, able to schedule an appointment with another dermatologist.

Based on the reviews, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had hoped for the best, but my confirmation call came from a woman who wasn’t very friendly and she ended our conversation abruptly (hung up on me), so I was ready for the worst when I arrived.
My appointment was today. I got there on time and found all of the staff to be very nice. The intake process was swift and I was called back within minutes of completing my paperwork (not even enough time to read one page from my book).
I saw the assistant first who took note of my reason for coming in and then advised that the Dr would see me shortly. «Shortly»… I wondered how long that really was to her (you know, sometimes in various offices it can be a «short» 30 – 45 minutes before the doc arrives), but before I could think too much about it (within 3 minutes), Dr. Woodson was there and she was absolutely pleasant! I am so glad I saw her. I felt she thoroughly listened to me, examined my area of concern, and knew exactly what was going on. I felt comfortable and trusted her knowledge and experience; she answered all of my questions, educated me with the necessary information, and sent me on my way.
Overall, the appointment exceeded my expectations! I will definitely recommend Dr. Woodson to my friends and family, and I will return if ever I need a dermatologist again.
TIP: In my opinion, just based on the reviews, it’s best to book with Dr. Woodson instead of a PA. Keep in mind, however, she is booked well in advance; it took me a month to get an appointment, but it was worth the wait!

Have been waiting for over an hour already and was told by the front desk that it would probably still be another half hour. This is seriously unacceptable! I don’t care how good the doctor is, I won’t be coming back.

We got here at 1:15 her appt. Is at 1:30 let’s see how long we wait. So r wait was 7mins. And Tia was amazing

Very caring staff and Dr. Woodson is very thourough. I really felt like she sincerly cares and takes time to listen and evaluate carefully, I never feel rushed like some Doctors offices. I highly recommend Dr. Linda Woodson.

I have had appointments with this place 3 times… The first time I scheduled it was a month out and I hadn’t gone there before and I just happened to look at my calendar and noticed I had an appointment there, but no one called to remind me like every other place does so I missed my appointment by a couple of hours and then called and asked why no reminder. Next thing I received was a bill for $ 20 for no show. The next time I went I got in because they rescheduled me in a week so it was recent so I made that appointment.
This last time my appointment was to check to see if what they’d done worked (it did NOT) and it was scheduled out 6 weeks. Yesterday I was looking through my paperwork and noticed I had an appointment with them at 9:40 am (the 6 week out schedule). I called them when I noticed it and left a message. They called back and told me they called me to remind me, BUT then back tracked and said, «However, that is a courtesy call, we don’t have to make that call, it’s up to the patient to be responsible.» This tells me they knew they didn’t call and they didn’t, I only have my cell phone and no calls came the day before the appointment.
I understand it’s the patients responsibility, but don’t say, «We’ll call you with a reminder» if you’re not going to. They, at the very least, need to have a sign in their office saying they don’t make «Courtesy Calls» for reminders so we know it’s solely our responsibility. Once again I’ll be charged the $ 20 for a no show.
I will never go to this place again not only because they’re not customer friendly, but it’s sneaky to act like they’ll send a reminder and then don’t. I refuse to let my older relatives go to them because they DO need reminders, but evidently this office says it does but doesn’t. I have a feeling they have a lot of no shows and still get paid… Enough of this. Going back to the other Woodson office or finding some place new.

I was happy with my visit. Nothing big just had to get a mole removed. Just really upset that when I had my first visit they said I didn’t have a copayment when it states on my card «specialist $ 30» when I came back the next day they said I owed $ 60. No big deal; I have to pay it so why get upset… Well come to find out it went into collections ($ 790) because they said I never made my first copayment. Ugh. Off to HOPEFULLY get it deleted off my credit report.
