Lofts at 7100

Worst decision ever moving in here. I’ve never lived in a place where you get no notifications on water turning off. They email on every little thing but when they say they left you a «note» on our door and there was no note they don’t even try to apologize they just tell you «well we did». Their rude on the phone and I would never recommend living at the lofts to anyone. Again worst mistake living here.

The apartments were fantastic when I first moved in four years ago. After new ownership of the building the upkeep of the grounds and maintenance in general steadily declined. Feces and urine from the dogs line the hallways and stairwells and with indoor hallways this is not only unsanitary but smells terrible. The trash chute closets are always dirty with garbage and large items. The office staff (with the exception of GB) are rude and do not seem to want to assist you. Were they hired for their looks or their customer service skills. I’m thinking for looks.
Ongoing issues with tenant noise does not get resolved. You pay for a reserved spot but then you must be the one to contact the tow company and stand around to wait for them.
Prices for all units have soared over the last two years — used to be a small one bedroom was under $ 700 now you are lucky if you can get it for under $ 950. Carpet and walls are not refreshed after tenants move out — I’ve relocated three times within the complex in the last four years and after looking at several available units can testify they are rented in bad shape.
About six months ago roaches in the hallways became a problem and still exists.
Currently the upstairs tenant flooded their apartment and the damage to our unit is terrible. The maintenance man came and said yep they have a leak upstairs and your ceiling and walls will dry out. I’m like the water is still leaking and you have to open up the walls and ceiling to allow the water to dry. After I said I would call the Health Department he came back and drilled some holes in the wall and ceiling — 24 hours later the water is still steadily dripping down the walls and ceiling. My counter and floors are soaked even after placing towels and a pan underneath the leak. The leak draining into my master bedroom is draining into the tub through the light fixture and all the maintenance man did was remove the globe!

I had to update my review! GB the manager has been helpful and supportive to any and all situations! He is supportive and attentive to every issue! Responds immediately to any compliant! He is a excellent manager!

I’ve lived here for 4 years and experienced a host of issues, such as my car being broken into, dog feces in the hallway, fire extinguishers being removed by inspectors and then never being replaced, and unresponsive staff (at least they got rid of the old apartment manager, who couldn’t bother to renew my lease until I had asked her multiple times). I could ignore all of this if it werent’t for the fact that our downstairs neighbours have had a dog that barks incessantly since February, and despite following up with the office, leaving courtesy officer messages (as they instructed me to), etc. they have done nothing to address the issue.
This dog barks on and off, 24 hours a day. 7am? It’s barking. 7pm through to 1am, literally non stop because the owners won’t take it outside? Yup! Many nights I simply cannot get a good night’s rest due to this.
There are a couple good things about this place. The maintenance staff are friendly, professional, and responsive, and the location is near a nice shopping centre. However, this means very little when you are constantly subjected to irresponsible tenants who won’t take care of their pets and the staff don’t do anything about it.

I had REALLY high hopes when I moved in to this apartment. I love the location and was really excited for the unique building style, location and amenities. Like a lot of others have said, it seems great at first… but the longer time wore on, the more problems I had until I HAD to move out.
The pros:
[x] It’s within walking distance to a TON of businesses
[x] the parking garage keeps your car a fairly comfortable temperature even on very hot days
[x] high ceilings
[x] getting approved is a quick and easy process and applications can be done online
[x] you can pay your rent online
[x] near public transportation and two highways
The cons:
[x] you can ONLY pay your rent online or via moneygram. They don’t accept check/​money order at the office
[x] they often fine entire areas of the building for problems, rather than finding the source and fixing it. I must’ve paid an extra hundred dollars over the course of my lease for OTHER PEOPLE leaving trash on the floor of the trash rooms.
[x] they’re VERY sympathetic about problems to your face, however there is no follow-​up no matter how many times you complain or how long problems persist
[x] there are a ton of dogs and small dogs who tend to leave trails of urine in their excitement to be walked outside. This does not get cleaned up seemingly ever and you can often see the dried trails on the ground. There were also SEVERAL instances of dogs defecating in the hallways while I lived here and owners not cleaning it. While this is not the management’s fault, it IS quite indicative of the type of people who live there.
[x] The hallways were infested with roaches during three months of my lease (enough that I would see between 4 – 10 on the walk just from my apartment to the parking garage), several of which squirmed UNDER my front door and into my apartment. This stopped as soon as I sprayed roach repellent along the seams of my door, but they were still in the hallways for another month before the complex sprayed for them.
[x] the parking garages are so filthy that to wear one’s shoes from the car to your apartment sufficiently dirties them so that they must be taken off at your door to avoid staining your carpet BLACK.
[x] the pool, hot tub, and surrounding area are often unusable due to other residents. During the day, parents BARELY supervise their children (if at all), letting them paw sopping wet through other’s possessions and leap into the hot tub splashing and screaming. During the evening, they are often filled with intoxicated residents. On several occasions we’ve attempted to use the pool area, we’ve left due to general discomfort due to other residents
[x] maintenance and landscaping often starts before or at 8 am and goes on literally ALL day which would not be a problem, save for:
[x] poor quality exterior doors and windows — you can honestly sit in your living room and listen to conversations taking place in the hallway (or outside your window if on the first floor). Waking up to grown men outside your bedroom window looking in as they clean them isn’t fun.
[x] there are often children playing in the hallways with no parents in sight. In my hallway in particular there was a group of 3 – 4 very young children who were often found riding scooters or bouncing balls… yelling and screaming and playing (as children do) at about 6am as I was leaving for work.
[x] the apartments are painted with a cheap, hard to clean paint. I smudged a bit of dirt on one section of wall (killing one of their lovely cockroaches with my shoe)… I was scrubbing paint off before the black dirt (on my shoe from the parking garage) was coming up
[x] I provided a list of 6 repairs that needed done when I moved in and it took 5 attempts to get them all completed. I’m not sure if this was the office’s mistake or maintenance.
[x] poorly laid out ducting — some rooms are arctic at the same time others are HOT.
[x] the residents are half wonderful, quiet, respectful people… and half rude, loud, inconsiderate and awful people.
***I eventually broke my lease due to literally unlivable conditions. When I moved out, I was told by Dana that my final costs ect would be emailed to me and that there was no other for me to receive my final updated lease break costs. This was never emailed to me.
I called several dozen times over the next month and stopped by the office on multiple occasions. I was told that «Dana isn’t in today/​is on vacation/​will call you back» more times than I can count. I never did hear from Dana, nor did I get any sort of email or physical mail regarding my move out costs… What I did get is a letter from a collections agency and a mark on my credit. Thanks, Lofts at 7100.***

Terrible discriminating staff! I was quoted one price over the phone, when i got there the month and price increased $ 300 a MONTH! Then used the old line of well after you called someone came in and filled out an application. Mind you i was there within 20 mins of our phone! Do not give these unethical people a dime!

I have had the pleasure of living at The Lofts for over 5 years! GB is amazing as are the other staff. Maintenance is incredible and rarely a request goes longer than 12 hours before it’s in tip top shape. I cannot think of one negative and highly recommend The Lofts at 7100.

Luckily I had a 6 month lease. This place was a nightmare! I moved in and out 3 times from one apartment to another. My first apartment was a cockroach nightmare, the second one was to house me and my stuff so they can exterminate the roaches. I moved back, the eggs hatched and it started all over again. I had a 5 day headache from all the fumes. Then they moved me upstairs which was fine but the it was so inconvenient living there, I couldn’t wait to get out. I didn’t want anything to do with this place anymore. I shared an apartment with cockroaches! Not one not two but 100. The exterminator said it was bad. On the other hand, the maintenance guys were great and one competent person in the office, forgot her name. Not Beverly and not Gina.

Did not make it to these lofts but I have heard they are nice and so now I have to post this because I wrote it on the wrong place and must edit. So enjoy this non-​review.

So, let me start by saving I’ve only lived here about 2 weeks so my opinion may be a little fresh.
Now that that’s outta the way I LOVE LIVING HERE! I had been back and forth between living here for about 6 months, so when my lease was up at my old place, I applied here. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any 4^th floor units available, so I had to wait almost another month, but it was worth it! Beautiful location and within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, parks AND my job, I never want to leave! The views from the 4^th floor are amazeballs and everyone I have met so far in the building is super nice. The one drawback is how easy it is to get lost in this place, one wrong turn and you’re done for! Lol. I wish they had more convenient elevators, its four floors, like a million units and only 3 elevators? Buuut, other than that, great place to live. Maintenance is awesome, office staff are complete sweethearts, pool is always clean, and the gum is amazing as well as the clubhouse. For $ 875 (which is almost $ 300 lest than what I was paying in Summerlin), its definitely worth it. I won’t be moving for quite some time!

Where do I begin?
First and foremost, I’ve been living here for over 4 years and I am very content with my unit, amenities and interactions with the staff. Great location (off ²¹⁵⁄₉₅), near by shops, restaurants, and hospital). Public transportation is waking distance. Less than 30 minutes from mount Charleston, Red rock canyon and lone mountain. Staff is always very friendly and helpful and have a great and efficient package notifying system. Plus, the community is still growing with new business developing every year.
Pros: biggest bang for your buck in Las Vegas for apartment living.
— pool (2 pools, one heated all year round and jacuzzi which are never really crowded and well maintained, nice furniture and BBQ section)
— yearly carpet cleaning with lease renewal
— nice tall ceilings which help the units feel roomier and modern.
— maintenance crew is pleasant and efficient and changes light bulbsfor free! (The little things do matter)
— beautiful new dog run!
— nice clubhouse (if you ever decide to use it)
— Apple computers available in business office with free printing.
Cons: basic apartment issues
— handful of dog owners not picking up after their pets (multiple communities have these problems)
— lack of security cameras in garage/​building
— small gym/​fitness center (but does have the basics; bonus yoga space is nice)
— not a smoke free building (wishful thinking here)
Overall, I have no complaints. Any small problems or concerns that I may have had has been addressed in a prompt manner. As we all know, apartment living can be challangeing at times, thanks to the staff and pleasant residents here at the lofts at 7100 really try to make this a nice place to reside.

I recently moved from these apartments after almost 4 years and was waiting for the final bill before I posted so I could be completely fair!
I’m reading through these other posts and all I can assume is that maybe people have unrealistic expectations of an apartment. Yes, there were a few issues with noise and yes, they do maintenance that may inconvenience the residents… but all in all I really liked living there! (I moved because I needed more space and wanted a garage.)
One of my favorite things about The Lofts is that I very rarely saw any bugs! I am absolutely terrified of cockroaches, but I could count on one hand how many bugs I saw in there in all four years!
Furthermore, the apartments are nice! Yes, they have «faux» granite and the «appearance» of tile, but when you’re only paying $ 750 a month, what do you expect?
The gym in the complex is good too. I went over a year without a gym membership and just worked out downstairs.
The staff was helpful more often than not, but even when they weren’t, they were always friendly.
There was a small handful of times that I was woken up by something going on at the baseball field or maintenance dragging their carts in the hallway, but noise can happen anywhere. I’ve been woken up more often now that I’m in a townhome than in my apartment. However, I think that living on the fourth floor is an advantage. I also lived on a corner unit where one of my neighbors was a stairwell.
My only gripe is that there was a time or two that I wasn’t able to get ahold of maintenance… no one would answer the phone, respond to voice messages or emails through their website. Also, there were a few instances when it would take too long to clean up dog poop (ew to the dog owners), graffiti, or other eyesores in the hallways. But as far as apartment living goes, it was by far one of the better experiences I’ve had!
Oh.and ps. I didn’t have to pay a deposit to move in and my move out bill was less than $ 100.
I hope any readers that rent there have an experience like mine and not like the other 10 or so poor reviewers!

This place looked so wonderful when my husband and I were looking at apartments, and for the first few months it was. Since the name has changed (someone else has bought the complex or company) it has all gone down hill.
The key cards needed to get in the building stop working all the time. Several times a month I get locked out of the building when I walk my dog, and I have to walk to the front of the building to the one door that is never locked. Yes, there is a door that is never locked. Once the garage was closed and no ones key card could open it. there was a note from the office saying they knew it was broken, yet nothing was done. My husband got home from work at 10pm (when the office is closed) and had to find somewhere else to park. This lead to him getting a ticket.
The pools are always disgusting, and even though they say one is heated both pools are always the same temperature.
They say that they do not allow solicitation, but several times a week papers are being shoved in my door. Once I even saw the Cox Communications person walk through the office with a bag full of pamphlets and none of the staff stopped him.
Since new management has taken over we are constantly being told that we can’t leave our apartment or park in the garage during certain hours because they are re-​painting or cleaning or some other garbage. Meanwhile, all of the modifications they have made are terrible. They have unprofessional people repaint the walls and the cement floors. Don’t be fooled by the look of the first floor
I have called the police on my upstairs neighbors twice because security told me they could not do anything. EVERY night after midnight they begin running around or listening to extremely loud music. After the first time I called the cops someone came down, apologized, and informed me that it was his friends who are not on the lease. After I had to call the cops again I decided to inform the office staff that they had people not on the lease living with them. Nothing was done. My lease is almost up so I just gave up and bought earplugs to sleep at night.
These problems may not seem so bad, but with how much rent is this place should be a lot nicer. Everything they told me and show me to make me want to move in was a lie. The ONLY nice thing about this complex is the maintenance staff and SOME of the office staff. I am so glad to be moving out of this place I have wasted so much money by living here and the quality of living is just not worth it.

Staff in incompetent. The apartments are under insulated and noisy.

Don’t get suckered into this place. Once you sign, jobs done and your not important anymore. Oh! And get everything in writing. We canceled our lease and everything was ok, hah but almost a year later I find out they added to collections. Don’t trust a word anyone says. Even when we moved in they said there was no water bill, hah, another lie just to keep you happy before they stab you in the back with a dull knife. You’ll be stuck.

Alta Montecito: Because you can’t afford to move.
Sidenote: Remember if you think about moving here that you will have to park your moving truck outside the garage, carry all of your crap across the parking lot, through the garage, into the hall, up the elevator and through the door of your apartment. Then if you ever get to move out you have to do that again, followed by paying 2 – 3 times the amount of your rent in damages back to Alta Montecito. Also, they will tow your car if they decide it is parked «illegally».
This is an update to the below review, which was a 3 star review before. Living there was average apartment living, but they have convinced me on move out that they really want to be known for not taking care of tenants. First of all, they had a pretty big attitude about me moving out. They act all offended like you are breaking up with them even though you are giving 3 months notice. It’s like they didn’t realize it was a business relationship. How unprofessional.
After I had lived here for almost two years, I came out one day to find that there was a tow-​me sticker on my car. How hard are those to remove? HARD! They are super hard to remove, so you just have to drive wherever you are going with that embarrassing crap all over your car until you can find time in your RENT MAKING SCHEDULE to scrape it off and go to a car wash. I am including this for those of you who may not know the pain of trying to remove one of these stickers. I didn’t because not once in my 32 years of life has anyone else ever threatened to tow my car via vandalizing it with a sticker.
When I called the office to inquire about the tow-​me sticker the girl explained that they were just trying to «make sure no one was parking illegally.» How thoughtful of them, they were just keeping me safe from other tenants not having a parking permit. Or something. FYI: I had a parking permit, they just «thought» my license plates were expired. I had to find time in my schedule to go down there and prove to them my vehicle was registered within 24 hours to make sure they didn’t tow my car.
I didn’t even know that parking illegally was a thing. Alta Montecito is like a family? My family doesn’t act all concerned about me «parking illegally» where I live. I was not parked on the side of the freeway I was parked outside my own home where I pay rent. They have a record of your car in the file. Why not just give people a curtesy call if you think there is a problem? This is a policy designed to alienate tenants.
I would like to add that I have seen their security guards on duty at night smoking pot in their cars. I think that qualifies as «parking illegally» and I never complained about it or vandalized their vehicles. Also, when they put that sticker on my window they shoved the paper backing from the sticker into my hatchback! I don’t care who you are, shoving your garbage into a tenants car is unbelievably rude and disrespectful, especially when that garbage is from a sticker you just used to vandalize the car.
When I finally moved out I spent days cleaning the place. They sent me a bill for almost two THOUSAND dollars. You read that right. I have lived in at least ten rental houses with rent higher than Alta Montecito and I always get the majority of my deposit back. Also, I moved in to Alta Montecito with a deposit and there is no credit for it anywhere on their outrageous bill. I guess they just decided to keep that money without making up a BS reason that I should have to surrender it.
Not only do they want two times my former rent for the imaginary «damages,» they also charged me for the full months rent even though my move out was on the 8^th and I paid the pro-​rated amount! They also added the water bill for the rest of the month, even though I didn’t live there or use the water and I paid the balance on the water bill when I turned in my keys!
There is also a $ 100 charge for a «pet seal» and I have no idea what that means, but we didn’t have pets, my boyfriend is ridiculously allergic to cats and dogs. There are a dozen other charges for things that I have no idea what they are or why they were necessary.
Let me just say I understand that when you move out of a place you really can’t help but get charged for damages. But this is literally the largest move out bill I have ever had and I think that is remarkable since the place is half the size and not as nice. This is really ridiculous.
If living here is average, moving out is a nightmare. I am so annoyed that I bothered to clean anything at all, or turn in my keys early, or pay the pro-​rated rent. All these things I did in addition to paying rent on time for two years and this is how they repay me?
I would really hate to see how much they charge people who actually cause damages to their apartments. How about a BAZILLION dollars? LOL Alta Montecito, I’m never paying you this money. Good riddance and good luck to anyone who is still stuck there

My Fellow Unilocalers I went back to the Alta Montecito…
One can only assume the owners were sick of the way their clients were treated and they hired this angel named (Samantha) Yey! The owners got more than a clue they got Samantha :)
Because I been to the property many times before and NEVER have I met her. Until now that is. First allow me to tell you about Samantha shes intelligent, funny, attentive, heedful, mindful, thoughtful, observant, considerate, polite as well as courteous what else can I say about her she is so much more than a attentive host.
When your with her because I have been to view the property many times. The tour is something different with her. She adores her job and she really makes you want to move in yesterday. She took time to show us the mail area and even explain that should you get mail from UPS or FEDEX that you get a text message and also their is a private site you can go on to chit chat with and get to know your fellow neighbors. She took us inside 4004 and she made my heart almost stop. I tell you people I thought the property was to die for at first. Well she showed me I had seen nothing yet. The place is muah! Its far from cozy dare I say its Robin Douglas Leach luxury. You have never seen walk-​in closets this big when I saw the walk-​in I almost cried! The master bedroom so huge lord you got to go see it for yourself! Samantha is so good at what she does that even my sister was like if you don’t take this I will. People we ran away from the Alta Montecito calling and texting our husbands like we just found shoes on sale. I’m now applying pressure to my husband because if I don’t move in today I may apply for a divorce tomorrow. Oh yeah the AM is worth it!
We asked to view other areas she proudly took us and answered all our questions. People if you had been to the AM or Alta Montecito before and you didn’t like the staff well I encourage you to go back. I give it five million stars because they deserve it. Samantha helped them earn it. President Obama was right CHANGE is good and going FORWARD is a plus. And the AM has the same thing in mind. I tell you people its different now go check it out. Ask for Samantha :)

I had someone ask me to elaborate on my original post, so here’s what I was going to send them before I realized I was at about 3.5x the character limit: And I’m happy to answer any questions/​comments.
Most of the other reviews touched on my major complaints, but here’s a few highlights:
— Signed an 18 month lease because I wanted a place with a 24 hour pool area (I work 7am-​5pm, class from 6pm-​9pm, don’t get home until well after 9:30). Three months into the 18 month lease, they got a new property manager and he decided, without consulting anyone or getting feedback from the community, to start closing the pool at 10. I asked about breaking my lease due to the change in conditions, and he basically laughed me out of the office. I complained about him to corporate and he was removed from the property two months later… because he had been PROMOTED of all damn things. He was, last I checked, regional manager or something. Awful decision. Apparently this is an industry where you fail upwards.
— Oh, and there’s a small-​ish park outside. Upon moving in, I was told it was 24 hours and dogs were welcome. And of course, three months later, dogs were suddenly not allowed. And I was once again forbidden from breaking the lease due to changed conditions.
— Parking rules are never enforced, ever. I bit the bullet and started paying an extra $ 40 a month for a reserved spot… except it took nearly four months for the spot to be labelled as «reserved». So I almost never got to use the spot I paid for, and when I would have to have someone towed from the spot for parking there without permission, of course I looked like the bad guy.
— Security? Ha! You want security, get a dog. Because the people who run this place won’t make you safe. Residents who go outside to smoke will prop open outside doors all day, every day. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue except there’s a giant bus depot across the street and a skateboard park directly behind the building. People sneak in at all hours for various reasons. They went through three or four different security companies during my tenure, but nothing changed. It was still just one person walking random rounds around the interior of the building.
— The people both above and below me a) had giant subwoofers/​sound systems and b) LOVED loud music and movies. I tried talking to them face to face and was ignored. Security/​the front office did nothing when I complained. The cops would come by if it was after hours but that only worked for about 5 minutes at a time.
— BUT I rescued a dog from a shelter and he had some separation anxiety the first time I left him alone and he barked for about half an hour after I left. I came home to three angry notes pinned to my door from neighbors and an official warning from the front office.
— Management hired some outside contractors to do some kind of work on balconies and other parts of the façade (I think it was touching up paint… not entirely sure). Unfortunately, they never told the residents this would be going on. You can imagine my surprise when I was woken up at 6:45am when some random dude was standing on my 3^rd floor balcony with a ladder banging away at the metal grate on the patio on the floor above me. He was extremely lucky though. My girlfriend’s INCREDIBLY racist father had just left from a short visit from the night before. If he had woken up with a random Latino on the balcony, there is a 0% chance that worker would have survived without some kind of injury.
— And, not to be a true nit pick, but this one bugged me. Moved in on June 25 and signed an 18 month lease. Most places would pro-​rate that last week in June (or, for places that enjoy ‘repeat business’, they simply waive those final few days), but Alta Montecito didn’t. And if you’re looking at a calendar then you’ve figured out the nature of my complaint… They had a lease end on CHRISTMAS DAY. Really? I mean… seriously? It bugged me so much I started the lease at my new place on December 1… I was willing to double-​pay rent for the month of December just so I wouldn’t have to deal with that office any more.
— Fake edit: ALMOST FORGOT! They billed this place as «Green» and «Energy efficient». I had the second smallest one bedroom at about 700 sq ft and never saw a power bill under $ 140. When I moved, I rented a 1600 sq ft house with other people and IT’S OWN FREAKING POOL with a FILTRATION SYSTEM THAT RAN 8 – 12 HOURS A DAY and my power bill almost never went over $ 160. Fascinating how an energy efficient place could be sucking up so much power.

***ATTENTION MILITARY DO NOT RENT HERE*** If I could give this place a negative five stars I would. IT IS HORRIBLE. Trash always backed up in the trash chutes. Neighbors loud and the office doesn’t seem to care. Also my roommate/​boyfriend is in the Air Force, when we signed the lease we asked if he were to get deployed can we break the lease. They said of course no problem. Well he was deployed now they are holding me to the lease and trying to, for lack of a better word «screw» me over. He had already put all of his stuff in storage before being deployed and even checked again with the office to make sure it was ok and they reassured him. Now that he is overseas I am left holding the bag. They do not support the military. DO NOT RENT HERE AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!

I decided to move here after leaving my husband. They were so understanding and incredibly accomodating. The management became more like my friends. They always took time to say hi and chat. I have never lived in an apartment but this was a great experience. I have to leave due to a job offer and once again they were accomodating. The ameneties in this complex are like an amazing get away, always making me feel like I was on vacation. Any problems or issues are always taken care of in a timely manner. Unfortunately I will be leaving soon but highly recommend Alta Montecito for a high class living experience.
Here it is 7 months later and WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! This apartment complex is a joke, I take everything back that I said up above!!! I left with hiring a carpet company to come in and clean my carpet in my apartment when I moved out. I moved due to job relocation. I left on a Sunday and the carpet company went by on Monday and was turned away and they stated to him that they would get their own carpet cleaner. I have a notorized statement from him. He was never able to see the carpet or clean it. A couple months later I was given a bill for $ 698 carpet replacement. Now I am in collections for this bill. I refuse to pay this bill. I feel I was not allowed to clean the carpet which had some kind of bad spots to begin with which is stated on my move in check list. I have been speaking to a couple of my attorney friends in Las Vegas and will pursue this issue. Do not move into this apartment complex. Not a good idea!
