I went again… yes…AGAIN last night. 30 hour layover, could have seen anything… choose to see Matt Goss for the second time in 4 months. I cannot bring myself to see a Cirque. To me, Vegas was Sinatra. Goss embodies that energy, class and style. You can’t build a time machine and go back to the 1960s and Sands. You CAN make your way over to Caesar’s and catch this show. Do it!

I give Matt 4.5 stars for his singing and his band. Even though he interacts with the audience quite a bit he can make you feel uncomfortable. The night we came it was more about a story of his life than just enjoying his music. I’m all for a good broken heart story, but there really wasn’t a happy ending.
If you’re looking for good live music and wanna take it back to the good olé days, this is a show you want to see.

Matt Goss is a talented performer! He knows how to work the room. He engages with the audience quite a bit, which is nice.
The venue of the Gossy Room is intimate and swanky. It feels like a classic Vegas lounge show. Where it differs is in the power of his voice. It’s truly captivating and he makes any song sound good. His band and backup singers are equally as talented and I liked how he highlighted members by giving them solos.
One thing he could do less of: not reiterate how successful he’s been through his career. Caesars Palace already does a nice job doing so on their website, he shouldn’t have to remind the audience several times during the show. It gets a little dragged out.

Fantastic time! Matt performed for two hours and really incorporated the audience to make it more entertaining. He performed covers, but also his own material making some performances very heartfelt. The dancers were talented and gorgeous and added a burlesque flair to the show. Would highly recommend the show due to its intimate feel and entertainment value. Splurge on the VIP seats — still not a bad price for Vegas — and have a blast!

This is an old fashioned Vegas show on the iconic Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesar’s Palace. If you like nostalgia, this is a good (non-​Rat Pack) show to experience it.
The show was good but the seats were very uncomfortable in the cheap seats, which are not on the Barge. I was in so much pain that I left the show early. I do not know if the more expensive seats were more comfortable. They looked like they were.

The theater was intimate and beautiful. Very old school glamour. Matt Goss has a beautiful voice and is so very handsome. I knew those things but never imagined him to be so personable. He went into the audience to shake everybody’s hand and pulled many audience members into the act. I would imagine it’s a different show each night because of it! He is funny and sang for a full 2 hours! He’s one of the best shows we have seen. The only thing I would want to change next time is that I would have liked to be on the lower level. Because of the small theater size there are no bad seats to see the stage but when the girls are dancing on the lower floor it was hard to see them. Matt reminds me of a modern Frank Sinatra… Great show!

For our first Matt Goss show it appears he must have been sick as he seemed to allow more instrumentals than singing. We truly believe from YouTube videos that Matt is great but if our show was normal than it has to be disappointing.
The backup band and dancing ladies are great but when Matt spent 20 minutes on the same note as he shook hands with most of the crowd we and those around us were ready to leave. We did in fact leave the show early which is only done when we are not enjoying the show.
Twitter comments to Goss and Caesars went unanswered sending a clear «we dont care» message.
Bottom line: maybe it will be better when you go.

I really wanted to like this show. I knew nothing of the guy, but it was my first time at Cleopatra’s Barge, and I liked the setting. It’s very intimate and darkly lighted. Really a great setting for some jazzy, bluesy performances.
So what went wrong? To start, the routine just felt forced and flat. It was obvious that he’d done this countless times in the past, and honestly, I felt he needed the ‘improvised’ drinks to make it through the show. There were some comedy bits that were funny, but Goss came across overly cocky and arrogant at times. Thinking about it more, they were probably plants in the audience for at least one of the sets.
Goss has a great voice, I think. Maybe? Here’s what happened (twice): Goss was belting out a really long note and moved the mic away from his mouth about two feet, but the vocals never quieted. Whoops. Auto-​tuning magic!, And once you see that, it’s hard not to just call it lip-​syncing, even if there’s some kind of blend going on.
Overall, it was just an OK show. The cover of Hotel California wasn’t very good, and this is coming from a guy who’s never disliked a cover of that song. Not the level of quality I was expecting.

What a fun show!!! My wife and I were hoping for a great date night and to top it off with the Matt Goss show was a perfect end to a wonderful evening.
The small intimate theater was the perfect venue for this type of show. It was great to have Matt come around and personally shake everybody’s hand in the audience that was a nice treat. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of music Matt saying. His band is extremely talented and you couldn’t help but get up and clap and dance and snap your fingers throughout the entire performance.
We will definitely get tickets again to see the show. Next time we’ll sit closer to the front to get more involved with the performance.

Unless you’re a Brit that still has a thing for the late 80’s UK boy band Bros, this is simply an overpriced ($ 55-​$ 120?! wuhdeefeck?) lounge show that misses the mark. I was ready to leave after 15 minutes.
It’s not for lack of individual talent. All the ingredients were there for a potentially entertaining show (horn section, dancing girls and backup singers) but it somehow collectively fell flat. No groove when required, Goss’ «fun» British humor calling the audience «terrible» and «the worst» on several occasions for not appearing to be into it (it’s not us, it’s you), forgettable original tunes, unnecessary vocal runs… everything felt way too vanilla and disingenuous.
I would have been fine if there was a big bar area with this as background music and not the focal point. But with no escape or ending in sight, the show got more and more tedious. Finally somewhere between an overly hammed up rendition of «Fly Me to the Moon» (they’re called standards for a reason) and a bad cover of «Hotel California» did the rest of my group decide to throw in the towel. I was green with envy over a friend who managed to get a solid hour of sleep during the set.
Maybe they’re bored of playing the same stuff for 7 years straight. It would be best to kill the old school/​swing schtick, revamp the whole show and play newer songs like «Uptown Funk». The free cover band at Mizuya Lounge at Mandalay Bay, wherever Zowie Bowie plays, Frankie Moreno, and even Carnaval Court would all be way better options.

Fantastic show! One of the very best I’ve seen. He really cares that each and everyone enjoys his show. He truly puts his heart and soul into it. And his talent is amazing. I truly hope you get a chance to watch him perform. The show really personifies ol vegas…

If I had read up on Matt Goss before going to see this show, I would’ve passed on the free tickets. I’m giving this one star because I can’t give zero, and only BECAUSE I didn’t have to shell out money to see this talentless performer. But my husband had seen his show before and liked it, and we had out-​of-​town visitors to entertain, so I blindly agreed. This time around he didn’t like it either.
Naturally we didn’t have the best seats in the house, but we sure had the worst seats to sit in. The chairs were wobbly and uncomfortable, and I left writhing in pain. Yeah, I have back problems, but I don’t expect that going to a show at a high-​class joint like Caesar’s will contribute materially to my discomfort.
The assault on my ears was worse. There is nothing that drives me crazier musically than a song that repeats a single line over and over and over again. But that’s just what happened, seemingly every time this no-​talent chose to sing one of his own songs. I guess if you’re not clever enough to write more than one line of lyrics or notes, you just jazz it up and repeat it ad nauseam, to the point where I had to flee. This wasn’t the radio, where I could’ve just flipped to another station. I left our group for a 10-​minute break, then went back to endure more of same.
The show is «cleverly» crafted to appeal to a wide audience: Ya like big band? It’s there. Fan of 60’s groups with guys dressed in tuxes and choreographed movements like synchronized swimmers? They got that, too. Sexy dancers with enhanced mammary glands, who are totally superfluous and crowd the small performance area? Yup. Backup singers, who almost never back up much of anything, but also move in tandem? Present and accounted for. Love Sinatra? Goss thinks he’s the reincarnation, but he’s often off-​key. A fedora does not a Sinatra make.
The band, though talented, drowned him out most of the time. And most of the time that wasn’t a bad thing. But there was too much brass for the small venue. Goss was so overmiked that he sounded as though he were singing through a periscope. But maybe it was just the water surrounding the barge/​stage.
After reading some of the rave reviews here on Unilocal,I’m reminded of the fairy tale «The Emperor’s New Clothes.» I can’t remember the last time I saw a show on the Strip that I detested more than this one. Mercifully, it wasn’t a very long show.

My husband and I enjoyed this show despite not having ever heard of Matt Goss until the day before. The band was fantastic (horns, guitars, and drums) and Matt has a nice singing voice and style that is hard to define but I guess you could call it upbeat blues-​swing-​pop-​ska.
He sang a few covers but mostly his own music, which we were unfamiliar with but still compelled to clap, snap, and sing along to. This is a lounge setting with small cocktail tables placed close together and table service for drinks. The stage itself was small and I was surprised that 7+ musicians could fit there. The dancers don’t participate in every number — thankfully, as they were more of a distraction than anything, I think because the place was so small and they were either crammed onto the stage or filling the aisles with their thongs and feathers right in your face.
Matt does a lot of personal storytelling and joke cracking, sometimes at the expense of the audience or his band members. He got braggy for a bit, talking about his success in the UK in the 1980s and 1990s. I wasn’t sure if this was to show us Americans that he has professionally credibility, but if so it was not necessary, as I think his talent can speak for itself. Overall he is an engaging and energetic entertainer who also happens to be gorgeous and look great in a tux and fedora.
We got our tickets the day of the show through
and paid $ 56 each. I ordered them over the phone, picked up a voucher at the booth in front of Bally’s, then redeemed it for two tickets at the Caesars main box office near the sports book.
Seating is first-​come-​first served. An usher shows each party to their seats one at a time, so it is not a free-​for-​all mad rush. We arrived about 45 minutes before the stated start time and got good seats, in the back row but center stage. Drink prices seem typical for the strip (aka exorbitant) — about $ 7-​$ 9 for beer, $ 13-​$ 18 for wine, and $ 16-​$ 22 for cocktails. The show lasted over two hours and the waitresses were on top of every empty glass, so you can easily end up in the hole another $ 100+ if you don’t pace your drinking.

I have been waiting to see Matt Goss’s show for awhile so when I had a chance to go I went even though it was late on a Sunday night. I was reading in some of the reviews how he is late all the time. I was hoping this wasn’t the case because I had to go to work early the next morning.
He wasn’t that late maybe like 6 minutes but he was worth the wait! The showroom at Caesar’s Palace is intimate so every seat is a good seat. I sat in the back middle. The back is raised so I could still see. It felt like I was transported to old Vegas. The bouncers were talking Italian to some of the people they were seating and the music was wonderful! He did some of his original songs like Lovely Las Vegas to songs from Michael Buble. It has a sexy loungy feel to it. His back up dancers the Dirty Virgins were also great! There was this spot in the show where he had one of the male audience members concentrate on his dancers while Matt whisked this guy’s wife to the stage. The husband didn’t even notice she was gone. They danced together and she got a kiss too! Lucky lady ! Lol
The good thing about being in a small theater is he walks around and says hi to practically everyone. I thought he was going to pass me up because he already passed me but he walked back to me. I extended my hand for a hand shake and got a hug instead. I wasn’t complaining at all. Fyi he smells Wonderful! .just saying.
It’s a great show it’s very swanky… retro Vegas! It made a great date night!

I went to his show yesterday with my husband. It was a great show! We really enjoyed it. The band was FANTASTIC!!!

Pretty good show. Matt is very handsome and I love an accent so he already had me in the palm of his hand. I didn’t know many of the songs but still really enjoyed the show. Others in my party weren’t as impressed. He is not an amazing singer but a great entertainer. You are seeing a singer in a lounge, not Mariah in the Colosseum. Perspective people. He started 15 min late which I thought was pretty normal for shows. Not sure why people freak out over that. There were a few times his mic was to low and you couldn’t hear him over the band and there was a lot of clapping and finger snapping which is hard for the rhythmically challenged (me). But he did a great job engaging the audience. I got comp tickets but think that his regular prices are a bit high at $ 60-​$ 125 before tax and fees. The cheap seats for Celine and Mariah are only $ 55. If you can only see one show in Vegas your money is probably best spent elsewhere but if you get comp tickets or a deal he is worth checking out.

My wife and I just saw this show on Friday and it was one of the better shows available in LV. I grew up with the band Bros and learned about Matt Goss a year ago via an online post. He is the hottest act in LV right now and yes, the ladies will love him.
The best part is the intimate setting and the close proximity to the stage. He reminds me of a young Sinatra. His band is awesome, especially the combination of Showgirls (all hot) and his amazing sax, trumpet and drummer.
Matt even sang a couple of his past # 1 hits, When will I be Famous and I owe you nothing.
At the end we were lucky to meet him and talk about England, Football (he is a huge football fan). I highly recommend this show over any other show in Vegas.

Matt Goss; terrific modern twist on the old time lounge act. Retro room at Caesars — untouched since 1966. Mix of old standards and his newer stuff. Former kid act in England who grew up into the only guy doing this kind of show in Vegas. 7 piece band including 3 piece horn section, backup singers, 4 scantily clad dancers. Old school Vegas. Very engaging.
Yeah, he starts 15 minutes late like every other show in this town. Get over it. Relax and enjoy a one-​of-​a-​kind.

Matt Goss puts on a fun and good show full of oldies. He and his dancers were entertaining, and he did make good efforts to engage the audience. He was really late, but other than that, I have no complaints!

Fabulous show! Not a lot of smoke and mirrors, just great, talented artists. Intimate showroom, a little tight but no bad seats. I read the reviews that say he starts late, yes, he does. I have yet to go to a show in Vegas that starts on time.
He is well worth the wait!
