Mayberry’s Maids

This company must have paid for reviews on Google. After seeing their Google reviews, I gave them a call. They were supposed to have a move-​in special. I met them in the morning. Two lady came in and they walked around my 2 bedroom condo, 1100 square feet. There was some furniture left behind by the previous owner. I told them I wanted their move-​in service, and pointed out two areas that especially needed to be cleaned, which was the washer and dryer door glass and the stove. They quoted me a price of $ 180 for 3 hours. I gave them my credit card info, and $ 20 tip and left for work. When I came home, I didn’t bother to check the place because it was late that night. I checked the next morning, and I could see that they didn’t do a thorough job. I emailed them last Monday, ask for some kind of refund on Aug 10^th, and they still haven’t responded, so I figured I would post this review. I posted a few pictures of 2 areas that weren’t cleaned. Beside the couch and stove drawer, a window sills and around the tv were not cleaned. They may have been other spots, but it doesn’t matter. For $ 180 I shouldn’t have spent the weekend going back over things to make sure they were clean.
My advise is to just find another company. I assume all the 5 star rating are paid reviewers.

I called to ask about cleaning the carpets in a small room in the apt I was moving out and the guy seemed totally dis-​interested in doing business with me. He told me the room was too small and they need at least a total of $ 120 to come out to anywhere (which is fine) so I asked about other services they could do, and got a no on everything. I saved money and the hassle and got a rug doctor.

This review is for their both their Window Cleaning service and their Maid service. Both experiences were so bad I cancelled their Carpet Cleaning Service too.
Window Cleaning
Their website promotes $ 8.00/window, but when their team showed up they tried to charge me $ 19.00/window. I asked why and they said that every 1 window that opens counts as 2. The whole experience was shady. Cancelled them. I would recommend finding a more transparent company.
Maid Service
Hired 4 maids to handle a deep spring cleaning. Nearly everything they did lacked attention to detail. For example: dusted the desk, but not on top of it /​office. Dusted part of the television but not the other part /​living room. Cleaned one door on the fridge, but not the other — even wiped around a picture on the fridge without moving it. Broke a closet door off track and left without telling me. I could go on. All in all a poor cleaning experience. I would not recommend this company and I would not hire them again.
PS — When I first saw they had good stars I hired them. Looking back now I see all the reviews are from a year, two or more ago. They’ve dropped the ball.

This was a Henderson team. I’ve used this group twice; once I thought it was just a fluk, but no, this is the way they operate. While I complained the first time, Gil was very nice and wanted to make things right, and had the team come over again. No better. So this second time, I didn’t bother. I just don’t have the time to keep having folks come over again and again and take up most of the day.
Here’s the MO. The estimate on the phone is for say 4 hours; they get there and whoops, this is so dirty (no it wasn’t) that it will take us 6 hours. This happened both times. I was not sure the one English speaker understood me. But what I do know is that I left them alone and I couldn’t tell anything at all was done. There were still spots on the shower, the tub was not cleaned and had muddy spots which were not there before. I was very uncomfortable with giving them all my identifying information to pay for the job and BEFORE the job was started.
summary, very poor job. Stay away.

I am so impressed with the quality and level if service and professionalism I have received from Gil and his crew. I work in real estate so having a reliable and dependable cleaning crew is imperative to the level of service we provide to our clients. I had one time where it was less than exceptional and Gil took care of it immediately no questions asked. I recently had them in my home to clean as well. When I came home it was immaculate. I will always refer them to family, friends, and business associates. They enable me to always meet and exceed our clients expectations.

Quite simply put, this was not a positive experience. We hired Mayberry’s Maids at the suggestion of our new property management company who had used them in the past. However, after our experience, we’re confident that they will no longer be recommended.
On Mayberry’s website, one of their primary services is move-​in, move-​out cleaning, which is what we needed after our tenants left our house looking like it hadn’t been cleaned in the entire two years they lived there. When I called to get an appointment, I told the manager that we only wanted it to be deep cleaned, and considering the square footage, he thought it could be done in six hours.
After they arrived, one of the cleaners went right to work and the other took 45 minutes to fill out simple forms. This same employee proceeded to clean with one hand and talk on the phone with the other for several hours until I’d finally had enough and asked her to stop the phone calls. But the worst part was the job that was ultimately done (or not done).
We paid extra to have the blinds cleaned, but their approach was to slap the vertical blinds with a cloth. Needless to say, they were not even dusted, let alone cleaned. They weren’t properly equipped with the tools to do their job since they were using a business card for a dustpan. When I looked at the bathroom faucets that were supposedly cleaned and questioned the cleaner, she said that «it doesn’t come off.» I proceeded to show her that it did. The used a razor blade to get food from the surface of the stovetop. The bottom line was that nothing was even close to being clean when they were scheduled to leave. The next day, I noticed one of the oven racks in the trash can in the kitchen; I guess it was just too dirty to clean so they threw it away!
I was planning on calling to complain when the manager showed up to pick up his employees. I told him how unsatisfied I was with the job and showed him a few things; he proceeded to insist that he stay with the employees and have them clean more. After they were «done,» I went over it again. It was still at best a two out of five star effort. I’ve called to talk to the manager, he wanted to come back again, I told him I did not have time to do that and I cleaned it myself. I expected at least a partial refund, he would not agree to that, nor would he allow me to talk to the owner. The total amount charged was $ 440, and I think it was worth no more than $ 250.
This is my attempt at gaining satisfaction by ensuring that anyone who reads reviews on Unilocal will stay away from Mayberry’s Maids.

Charged for 3 hrs but worked for about 2. Wouldn’t do the dishes. Really! Called management and they weren’t helpful. Had I used a credit card, I would have fought the charges on principle. Overall, not a great cleaning, felt ripped off.

Having bought a house this year, I wanted to hire a professional to give it a deep clean prior to moving in as the previous owners were not exactly fastidious. I chose Mayberry’s due to the availability and pricing, and because the guy that answers the phone (possibly the manager/​owner) was friendly and helpful, and seemed to understand that I wanted a very thorough clean. On the day, a team of two came out and I discussed in great detail what I wanted cleaned, and that the kitchen should be the area that gets the most attention. I explained that I would pay for any extra time if needed to get the job done thoroughly.
Well, the two cleaners took their time, and I ended up paying for an extra hour. At first look, all seemed well. After they left, I noticed that anything above eye level was completely ignored even though they had step ladders, and that some areas of the kitchen/​dining room were completely untouched. That prompted a much closer inspection, during which I found that the kitchen was still rather sticky and oily. For 4 hrs, I got a floor mopping with dirty water and a basic wipe down of some of the surfaces. I called the company, and the owner/​manager offered a redo, which I accepted.
A new team came out with a supervisor and I showed her the areas of concern. She translated to her team and they got to work. My regret is leaving them unattended as they used very harsh chemicals and steel wool on my wooden cabinet doors. Not only did they scrub off the finish, but it splattered all over my newly painted wall which left odd blue stains. After all that, I was out cabinet doors and needed to repaint, and the house still needed cleaning!
Not recommended!
