Montesano’s Eateria

Be prepared to wait for a while if you show up at dinner time without reservations. And then again once you order your food. But eating their food is delightful! Delicious, friendly service, and great desserts. Would go back for sure.

No more white clam pizza anymore apparently… They changed their menu a month ago and no longer offer it for those who’ve had it here before :(

I used to go to Montesano’s when they were on Sahara. For whatever reason I haven’t gone to the Henderson location till last night.
The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding, and the portions are huge. Our waitress made us feel like we were having dinner at a friend or family’s house. Everyone who worked there was upbeat and genuinely happy.
I look forward to my next dining experience!

This place is nothing short of AMAZING! First timers here on a suggestion, and it was a good one!
Can’t say enough about this place. Small, friendly, and absolutely everything on the menu looks freakin delicious. We had the lasagna and carbonara and they were epic! Now, my purpose in life is to try everything… and go to the gym more often. ;)
Also, look for Toniann. Best server ever.

Again I keep going back because the food is good, but I think I’ll only do take out for now on, again last time I was there for service my order wasn’t right and waitresses and waiters seem bothered. Still a little overpriced for what you get, they have restaurant prices for a pizzeria and it’s Hot In there.

I’ve been wanting to try Montesano’s for awhile now, and tonight I got my chance… I was contemplating what I wanted to have for dinner and I had a craving for tripe. I knew that Montesano’s had cuz I’ve looked at their menu a few times… I did a take out order and the person who answered the phone was very friendly. When I got there, the staff behind the counter greeted me. I already knew I was gonna like this place! I love Italian food!!!
At the counter there where all the dessert goodies… My eyes got so big that I felt like I wanted to get everything thing in there… Luckily, I stopped myself and opted for an éclair and two cannoli’s, an order of tripe and garlic knots. As I sat there waiting (got there a lil early) for my order, I was people watching and struck up a conversation with a customer who was joking around with her husband who was also getting some desserts. I found out that she and I knew the same people from where I was originally from… Just the vibe there and how the staff interacted with all their customers made me smile! The whole staff are amazing people!!!
The food! Omg I really lurved my order of tripe! It was soft and really melts in your mouth with a wonderful sauce… I enjoyed every bit of it dipping the garlic knots in the sauce… The cannoli’s and éclair were AHHHMAZING!!! I tip my hat to the chef!!! I will surely go back and try EVERYTHING on the menu! And thank you Montesano’s for the free bread!

I was tipped off to a friend who told me that they served the best pizza in Vegas. Since this particular friend hails from New Jersey, I assumed he would know what he talked about. It was a little bit of a thicker crust and sweeter sauce than what I consider to be … let’s call it canonical. A good pizza, maybe even a great pizza, but just a little off from my stylistic presence.
But where Montesano’s really shines is with sandwiches. Like all great ones, theirs starts with a foundation of quality bread — a crusty Italian roll inside which fresh and flavorful meats and cheeses are piled. A great Italian sub is a neighborhood treasure, and this is a great Italian sub.

Came here because a friend told me about it. From the outside it reminds me of a bakery but then you go inside and the staff quickly greets you and is very friendly. The food was very good and filling. Frank was our server and he was very helpful. The deserts at the counter look amazing and I can’t wait to try some. Overall very good experience and will be back again

I give this place a billion stars. It’s so delicious and very worth the wait. The cook is funny and she definitely knows what she’s doing in the kitchen.

You can feel the Italian vibe as soon as you walk in. Between the homemade baked goodies at the front counter to the bubbly personality that the co-​owner Toni has, to the atmosphere. Definitely a new favorite!

Las Vegas. Wonderful food, excellent service and made to order dishes. They paid close attention to requests due to food allergies. Pastas, pizzas and amazing array of specialty baked goods were excellent!

My first taste of Montesano’s was back when they had a location in the shopping center (the one where pizza hut and carl’s jr is) off Craig and Decatur. I ate there from the time I was a teenager until about 10-​ish years ago when the location closed. I was bummed when that location closed because finding a good pizza joint (this was pre-bambini’s r.i.p.) in that area was not easy. Even though it wasn’t as close by, I was glad that Montesano’s still had other locations around town. The lone restaurant now being on the total opposite side of town from where I live on Eastern, caught my eye recently and I decided to stop by for lunch. Walking in I was greeted and offered a menu after saying that I’d be eating inside. My drink order was taken and brought right out and then the owner came out to say hello. I was so happy to see the same owner inside greeting customers and offering the exact welcoming I had remembered from all my countless visits to the other location. Change happens here in Vegas, we all know that, but it’s nice to have a few faces and places feel and taste the same even if in a different location.
Cheese Slices ($ 1.99 each) — Very good! The crust tastes good from one end to the other and it has just the right amount of crispness on the bottom. The amount of sauce and cheese is spot on.
Sicilian Pizza ($ 3.00 each) — Because I love the pizza so much here, I wish I liked the Sicilian more because it’s a type of pizza I really like, but few do right or consistently right around town. The outer crust was nice and crunchy, but the rest of it was just soft bread. The base of the pizza was not crunchy nor was the top soft and pillow-​like, which is what I look for in this type of pizza. The sauce they smothered on top tasted so good, but after the 2^nd bite, I had a soggy crust on both of my pieces because the sauce soaked through to the bottom. I’ll stick with the regular slices.
Sodas are $ 2.50 and they give you free refills. It takes some time for your food to come out however they make it fresh. You can always order ahead to reduce wait time. The only lunch specials they had when I last visited was either 2 slices and a drink or 1 slice, side salad and drink. Try the homemade soup it’s delicious and if you want a cannoli they fill them fresh to order.

A Local’s treasure. We have been coming here since we decided to call Henderson our home. If you are looking for non-​chainy Italian food that taste homemade, this is it. It’s as if a restaurant from Little Italy NY or the Hill in STL, grew wings and landed in this strip mall.
The garlic knots are fabulous and you have to hold yourself off from eating too many, so you have room for dinner. When we first came here, they were proper knots, but they are now garlic nubs. It still taste great though!
If you like calzones, they are perfectly made. You can order them baked or fried. If you don’t like ricotta you can ask them not to include it.
I personally like the sweet sausage, some of the best I’ve had with the perfect amount of anise. You can choose from about 4 – 5 pastas to compliment your meal. My favorite dishes are the sweet sausage with pasta, Braciole, spaghetti and meatballs, linguine with red clam sauce, meatloaf and spaghetti or any of the chicken dishes. The servings are big so you may have leftovers.
If you are full, think about bringing home some treats from the glass case upfront. I always bring back rainbow cookies for my kid. The Italian cheesecake is out of this world, one of the best on the west coast.
The staff treat you like one of their own, along with the home style meals it is like you are having «a Sunday family dinner».

A lot of times you go to an Italian restaurant and you get food that tastes good, but «ain’t a-​like momma use-​a make.» If you want that homemade taste in a down-​home atmosphere, you come here.
I would offer you a few specific suggestions, but to be honest whatever you want they most likely have, and it’s most likely DELICIOUS. I usually order their baked lasagna or the baked manicotti. For dessert you can’t pass up one of their cannolis.
On your way out make sure you stop up at the front and check our their little dessert deli counter and grab some goodies to go. I haven’t had any desserts/​pastries/​baked goods here that have disappointed me. Their florentines are scrumptious! I also recommend their homemade tiramisu.
I must admit though, I was a HUGE fan of their garlic knots. They’re still good, but in my opinion the jury is still out on their new way of prepping them.
Would I recommend this place to others? You bet your sfogliatelle I would!!!
Would I come back here again? Absolutely.

I come to Montesano’s every time I come to Vegas. Just good down-​home Italian family cooking.
You walk in and there’s a cookies/​dessert section next to the counter. I always like the cannoli’s. They hand-​fill it for you when you order and the filling isn’t too sweet and has a great texture to it. Ends are dipped in semisweet chocolate.
You can also order mini cookies and whatnot by the pound. They hand make their desserts in the kitchen everyday.
Start off with the garlic knots! They’re lightly fried and served with a marinara sauce and a ranch sauce.
I always order the house special pizza and the meat lovers pizza.
The house special has pepperoni, sausage, peppers, mushrooms.
Meat lovers: like a pizza pie… sausage, pepperoni, a bunch of other meats.
The guys working behind the counter are super nice and helpful with suggestions. Shoutout to Frank! He was our server and was so awesome. Make sure to request him if you’re here.
Overall a great family establishment. A+++

The food at Montesano’s is superb! My husband comes here specifically for the sausage and broccoli rabe. Their wedding soup is so hearty and hits the spot, just don’t order too much with it because it will fill you up! We always get a couple of cannoli’s to-​go, it’s a must!
The only 2 downsides is that they don’t deliver and sometimes the wait is a bit long. That being said, the wait is usually long because they are so BUSY! Their staff is always so helpful and check on you even if you are waiting for to-​go food. I recommend Montesano’s if you want authentic Italian food and desserts. The location is a bit ad a pain to get in and out of, but worth it!

Montesano’s could easily be overlooked with larger establishments like Panera and Buffet @ Asia closer to Eastern and mostly obscuring view of this location. It sits in the small strip with Cheeburger Cheeburger behind Buffet. It has a very unassuming presence, but is packed with delicious flavors.
Upon entering, you’re smack dab in front of the devilish bakery case full of coffee cake, cookies, cannoli, loaves of bread, cheesecake, etc. Whilst waiting for an open table, you get plenty of time to peruse the offerings because there is limited space in the entryway. Needless to say, the not exactly subliminal advertising worked on me and we left with a box of baked goodies to enjoy at home.
This trip, after a 15 – 20 minute wait, our party of 2 was seated at an 8 person table with convention/​banquet type chairs. A bit odd, but at least we were in. Drink orders were taken quickly, hot garlic knots and bread was brought out right after, and our order was taken within a few minutes. We started with the Caprese Salad which was refreshing and delicious. I ordered the Chicken with Peppers & Onions (Caccitore) over penne, which was divine. The chunks of chicken breast were tender and the sauce was amazing. I really enjoyed the bell peppers in the sauce. The portion was enormous! I ate about a ¼ of my entrée at the restaurant, and some more the next day. It heated very nicely in the microwave.
The BF ordered the Meat Loaf Parmigiano with angel hair, which he enjoyed immensely, but only got through a ¹⁄₃ of… more yummy leftovers.
Our desserts to-​go included one of the best cannoli we’ve had in Vegas. A fantastic moist coffee cake, and an assortment of delicious cookies. We have to stop forgetting about this place since we enjoy it so much for dine in and take out.

I like the way this pizzeria does pizza! It takes a deep-​dish meat lovers pizza and turns it into a real pie with a crispy top layered crust. It is not a calzone or stromboli — it’s a pie! You can get a pizza several different ways here, but this is by far the way I would prefer to go because it tastes great and it’s different.
I ordered the 16″ pizza expecting to take home some left-​overs, but I had no idea one slice each would fill us up!
I ordered the ham stuffed garlic knots first — only to realize it is one knot. You can’t easily share one stuffed knot, so I ordered a side of regular garlic knots. We were not at all crazy about the bite sized garlic knots because they were mostly too crispy. I think they were in the oven too long.
For dessert, we had some of their cookies. They have a large selection of cookies and cannoli’s. The one’s I tried were very good. I even took some home.
The restaurant is not very big, but it is clean and comfortable. The staff members are pleasant and service was exceptional. The iced-​tea was great.
I will come back!

This place is so so good! I am mad at myself for just now finding it considering Montesano’s is so close to my house!
Perfect Italian comfort food New York style. We ordered the antipasti salad, baked ziti with meatballs and the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Everything was so delicious! The salad was full of salami, artichokes, roasted red peppers, marinated mushrooms and delicious Italian dressing. The sandwich was served on homemade, fresh, crunchy bread that made the sandwich. The baked pasta was huge! I barely made a dent in it, but it was cooked perfectly. The meatballs were so flavorful and the sauce tasted fresh with ripe tomatoes and spices. We loved everything but the garlic knots served with the pasta. They were dry and too crunchy and thin for my taste.
The employees were very attentive and we had great service. I look forward to bringing friends and family here and trying more of the menu along desserts.

Montesano’s was an excellent recommendation by my best friend and his wife.

Amazing garlic knots dusted w/​Romano cheese.
Stuffed meat pizza delicious despite being out of pepperoni tonight, improvised w/​extra home made sausage, meatballs, ham, Romano and Mozzarella cheeses.
Crispy cannoli shells dipped in chocolate then filled on the spot w/​sweet Ricotta cheese filling sprinkled w/​chocolate chips were a take home dessert that tasted great w/​my morning Starbucks.
