Kudos to Dan «The Plant Man» Goldstein. My wife and I came in for 2 pots and had some questions about redoing our yard. Even though we will only need a few plants, Dan showed us around and answered every question we had. He even loaded the 2 pots into our car. (my back really thanks you, Dan!!!)
We’ll be back soon to buy the tree and plants from him also.

I hate to give a poor review for a nursery, because I love plants so much, but I just had to for this Moon Valley location. Service was very hard to come by, I was abandoned by employees many times and I ended up leaving with nothing. If you don’t wish to read about the details of the bad service, this is all you need to know.
Although their plants appeared healthy, their selection was a bit limited when it comes to cacti. Also a lot of the plants only have one size/​maturity. So I you are looking for something a bit smaller you may want to look somewhere else.
My biggest complaint was that it took a lot of effort, on my part, to get service. I wandered around the area for a while before I decided to go inside to the cashier and ask them to help me.
When I finally got someone they didn’t know much about plants. At least not more than me, and my knowledge is limited. It seemed like they couldn’t answer my questions about what plant was right for my needs and my yard. Perhaps I happened to ask the wrong person. Maybe they weren’t qualified to do more than cashier. I’m not sure.
Said person left me alone a couple times saying they would meet me back where we were, and I was left standing there for a good 15 minutes. Finally he returned and said someone else would be back to help me with all my other needs and to stay put. I waited for another 15 – 20 minutes until I just left. On my way out and employee spotted me leaving and chased me down asking if anyone had helped me. Too little too late Moon Valley.
All in all, if you know what you want and don’t need any help, you could probably get in and out of here with some great plants! If you are a noob gardener, I’d go somewhere else.

Do Yourself A Huge Favor Go Somewhere else anywhere else … my experience was terrible… YOU’VE BEEN WARNED NOW RUN

Moon Valley, you’re ridiculous. Every flyer says they do free estimates, the guy scheduling it echoed the same thing, then 5 minutes before they’re scheduled to come they ask for $ 50 on the phone. Um… ok, I guess free means $ 50 in Moon Valley world.
There won’t be another experience here. Even when I stopped in for the first time to buy plants they gave no instruction on how to care for them. They were just like. «yeah ya water it…» Ok genius, thanks.
Oh and their «deals» aren’t really deals at all. The bundle discounts, aren’t any cheaper if you do the math. Not a fan and won’t be coming back.

Today my beautiful trees were delivered to me and the entire experience was a great
Pleasure. Dalton Coia, landscape foreman, was professional, knowledgeable,
Courteous and efficient. He and his crew accomplished the task as hand quietly
And efficiently. Well Done to you Dalton and your crew!!!

Beautiful Henderson, Nevada.

You can’t say I didnt try… First I bought a Large Palo Verde tree for my front yard. $ 1,200.00+
Beautiful tree, Planted in October… we had a Cold december… entire top of tree died. Tree now is a bush. I come to find out that the Palo Verde (Desert Museum) is not suited for Nevada because we do have freeze days. OK, chalk that up to bad luck. Next had a mature Apricot tree put in our back yard, unbeknownst to me, the «installer» cut off a main root for the tree apparantly because the hole he dug wasn’t big enough… when questioned he said «the tree has plenty of roots, it doesnt need it» The tree died, and since we didn’t buy the warrantee which is almost as much as the tree itself, they did nothing about it. At the same time we had a «Lime» tree installed. It thrived, but fruits small yellow fruit that is bitter and obviously NOT a lime. When asked they said, «that is the tree you picked out». I do not like the way these guys do business… feels like a used car lot. I was very sorry to see that they bought Plant world. Will hate to see what happens to that once beautiful Nursery.
Buyers beware, what seem like reasonable prices are eaten up by deliver fees and insanely priced «warrantees».

I needed large trees to cover up electrical pole smack dab in the back yard of my new house and did not want to wait 5 or so years to cover it up and headed down to Moon Valley Nurseries. It was a pleasant surprise to find we had Les Blake the owner showing us the trees and helped me select the perfect tree to cover the pole and not have an evasive root system since it was going next to the new pool. Australian Bottle Tree. On planting day, he sent Dalton and his crew. Could not have asked for a better crew. They were very patient with me as I need the trees planted exactly to block the view of the pole from two angles. Dalton’s crew moved those 20-​something foot trees in several different positions prior to me giving the thumbs up. Thanks Dalton!

Dalton Coia and his crew were amazing! Just had a dead tree replaced & him and his crew were extremely professional, and nice. Would definitely recommend him & his crew to everyone.

Huge selection of trees. Good variety and many to choose from. A little pricier than I wish I would have spent. ESP for 3 fruit trees. Just under $ 800 w/​install, warranty and moon juice. Came in looking for trees w the ad and thought 3 trees planted for only $ 399, that’s not to bad right? But then throw in delivery charge of $ 100, then warranty, and moon juice, the costs add up quickly. Dalton and his crew arrived on time after calling they were on their way. Great group of guys and fast to get my trees planted and staked. Overall, if you are able to plant trees yourself, which I wish I did, save the extra cash and check out star nursery, very reasonable at more than half the cost!

Dalton and his crew went above and beyond to plant a large, 32″ box, tree in our backyard. They were courteous, prompt, and hardworking. The job was done very well, thank you guys!

Not happy with the customer service after the sale of nearly $ 2000 for trees I could have got at star nursery for $ 800. Kinda my fault for letting them put the sales pitch on me. Be sure you shop around and don’t pay more then twice as much for the same plant.
And for an added bonus I now have scorpions in my back yard from the trees.
Moon=$ 399ea
Star=$ 175ea. What would you rather pay?
Also, Moon nursery won’t match prices and items are sold as is. Good luck with the warranty from what I see on Unilocal reviews

UPDATE: After several months, Moon Valley FINALLY came out to inspect the tree (see below). To their credit they accepted responsibility and today replaced the tree. The planting job is just fine. They showed up with a half dozen guys, so it didn’t take long. I would give Moon Valley a higher grade if they were more timely.
ORIGINAL POST: For years I have bought all my nursery supplies from Starr Nursery and have always been satisfied. Last Spring I got sucked into a“sale” advertised by Moon Valley across the street. I bought 3 «large» trees which includes planting. By the time I paid all the add-​ons (like staking and gallons of their «Moon Juice» that is required for the «warranty») I was about $ 1500 out of pocket. Within a month or so the branches on one of the sumac trees started drooping so it looked like a sad, pathetic specimen. I sent photos and the Moonies said to let it go through the hot summer and it should perk up. It hasn’t. In the meantime, a Desert Willow started losing its branches. I don’t mean the little ones– several of its main branches 2″ and greater in diameter. And I don’t mean they died. They broke off the main trunk. They just failed at the point they attached to the tree. First one. Than another. That is when I called and sent photos. First they said it was wind damage, bit it is planted in a protected area and there hadn’t been much wind. Then they said we inadequately pruned. Actually, we do prune, but it is a willow for God sake. Then they said we didn’t properly water, but it is on an automatic watering system that feeds lots of trees that are doing just fine, thank you. More continued to break off. We have a single large branch left at this point. I looked closely at the broken branches. They are black in the center. I am convinced Moon sold me diseased trees. It has been several weeks since they said they would come look at them, all the while saying it was somehow my fault. Still no sign of a Moonie. I should have turned around and walked out when I first went in there and felt like I was being sold a used car. I am still hoping against hope that Moon Valley will do the right thing and replace my sick trees. Stay tuned and see if they give me reason to amend this review. In the meantime, I would avoid all the fake positive reviews and go across the street to Starr where they actually honor their warranties and are incredibly helpful. Moon Valley has been a nightmare.

Recently purchased 2 Italian Cypress trees and a tangerine tree for our new place. David our sales guy was very helpful and told us we could have them planted for free in a week. When we got to the register a week became two weeks and $ 999 became $ 1188. He asked if there were any trees or bushes were we wanted the trees and we said no. He said they would not remove plants unless we paid additional fees. We paid and he had us initial about the removal. We did not get a chance to review all of the fine print on their receipt. We did agree to leave the back gate open and to place the flags on the desired locations. When we went to place the flags we discovered there had been a tree in two of the areas and the roots were in the way. I wanted to reevaluate our decision to buy the size of trees we did but when I looked at the receipt I realized we were SOL sales are final. Ended up paying a landscaper to remove the roots and he told me we should have had him plant the trees and it would have saved us hundreds. I also realized the two week time line ended up being 3 weeks. The planting day they knocked on the door and left. We had to call David and remind him they had access to the backyard and the location was marked. They left my yard a mess, rocks and dirt in the pool so bad it clogged it up. The cypresses are doing well but the tangerine has lost almost all the fruit and is looking distressed. I wish David would have been a little more forthcoming about their policies. Not planning on ever buying anything more from them. Just hope the trees make it…

Bought my first tree from them. Service was great. Judy helped me pick out the right right one for my pool area. Then Bradon and his team came and planted it. Could ask for better service all round.

A couple of months ago, my husband and I went to Moon Valley Nursery to pick out a Dynamite Crape Myrtle Tree, it started to bloom recently and the flowers were pink, I was very disappointed because I wanted the red ones… Moon Valley wants happy customers and they just brought me the one I wanted… it’s beautiful and the crew of 4 were very helpful… Brandon even gave us tips on how to care for the tree… Love this place and I plan to go back real soon. They have a humongous place with three locations… Thank you Brandon & Moon Valley Nursery

Wanted $ 100 delivery charge on a $ 70 plant then claimed Star Nursery DIDN’T DELIVER when, in fact, they do deliver for HALF THE COST of this place. Drive the extra quarter of a mile and go to Star.

This place is HUGE, like you can see the curvature of the earth huge!
You need a tree? What kind of tree? Massive selection of trees, all sizes too, from small tree to enormous size. Shrubs? Climbing vines? Check!
Delivery, installation, yep, yep!

Curtis and his crew came out, installed 3 large trees in my backyard. They did a great job. During installation, they came across a stump in the ground and came up with a solution. The trees look great and the whole crew did a fantastic job .This is the second. Time, I’ve used them and will definitely use them in the future.
