We have been taking our 2 dogs here for the last few years. We have never had a bad experience. The last visit was one of more serious health issue for one of our dogs. Dr. Erin Wilkins took the time to listen intently to all our questions and concerns. She was very thorough in the entire process of exam, testing and home care. She made us feel at ease and we felt she treated our dog as if it was her own. A HUGE thank you to Dr. Erin and all the staff at Park Animal Hospital for all you do!

Every time I come in there seems to be a whole new crew of people. Don’t think I have seen the same vet twice. New techs too. i don’t remember my latest vet’s name but she talked down to me and wasn’t very friendly.
After my cat’s 2.5 days in the hospital, i just wanted to pick him up and go home since I called and they said I could get him at 6pm. I got there at 6 and they wouldn’t release my pet to me until the vet spoke to me. I said I just wanted to pay my bill and leave as there was somewhere very important I had to be. They said I could not take him or pay my bill until she talked to me. Once she finally talked to me she said nothing new… I guess they just wanted their chance to try to talk me into more tests to make more money as $ 1300 for some tests which found no cause of my cat’s vomiting wasn’t enough.
I was over charged for multiple things including 4 days of staying in the hospital even though he was only there about 2.5 days, a catheter which I was never asked if he could have or told he was having (plus they said he had been going to the bathroom fine and never once mentioned a catheter.) two extra X-​rays because they messed up the first ones and told me I wouldn’t have to pay for the extras, a fee for a specialist looking at the X-​rays even though the dr told me that she only looked at it and the specialist didn’t, and medications that I don’t need. One medication says «FOR DOGS ONLY» and when I asked they said it wasn’t a big deal. Sounds like the time I brought my snake in and they gave me a medication that said the exact same thing and HE DIED a week later and I was asked by snake owners why I would ever give my snake that medication. They also prescribed me an appetite stimulant. now mind you my cat had only skipped a meal or so during the time he was there and had been fine ever since and also. my cat is OBESE! Not kidding. he’s on a diet and all but he’s old, lazy and very very fat. He will eat anything he can get his paws on. Why did i have to pay for this? Why did I even pay and leave? Maybe cause they knew I was in a big hurry.
When I first brought him in the estimated bill total was about $ 1400, I had multiple tests taken off and said I would add them on later if the first round found nothing. I was told it was wise to do all the tests at once. I think that sounds like just a way to make as much money as possible while making my cat miserable so I declined. Around 350 was taken off the bill and the new bill was $ 1300. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. When asked why, the answer made no sense at all but something about the bill taking on a different format when things are removed. Yeah, OK.
She went ahead and added on a month’s worth of cans of prescription food which would be his forever diet and I said I wanted it removed and I was talked down to like I do not care for my pet. I rescued an obese, middle aged cat from Lied Animal Shelter (a high kill shelter) and have given him a wonderful life full of love and tummy rubs so don’t talk down to me because I’m unwilling to spend that much money on canned food that I didn’t ask for.
Over $ 1,300 later and I never found out why my cat was vomiting. The two medications I got did seem to help as he has only puked once in the last few weeks but I will NEVER return thanks to overcharging and the «we need more tests!» type of attitude this place always has.
They are all about the money. I am starting the form to file a complaint about my charges with the Better Business Bureau today and I urge everyone else to do the same.

After spending $ 600 between this week and last week I am frustrated and really angry. My dog is having urinary issues. They took a urine specimen YESTERDAY and I was told by the Vet to call after 12:30 today. i called after 2 and was told the results weren’t in yet and that the dr. would call me back. At 6 I called again and they were gone. NICE GOING. Is there a decent Vet in this town or what?

The technicians are very nice and kind to the animals. Dr. Lopez is the worst. He gets grumpy and impatient when questions are asked and he clearly does not have your pet’s health utmost in mind. Just a typical guy putting in his time 9 to 5. His knowledge of pet health issues is very limited. I would recommend that you avoid this place at all costs as long as he works there.

I took both my dogs to Park Animal Hospital for grooming, and check-​ups with a few concerns regarding bumps on my labradoodle. I was very impressed with Dr. C. He was very attentive, knowlegable and he answered all my questions clearly. He explained the bumps as fat deposits and not something to worry about. Surprisingly my Wheaten, who is always skittish– relaxed and allowed Aesha do an amazing job of grooming. I attribute her good behavior to Aesha, who is very patient and has a natural gift with animals. My bill was reasonable compared to other clinics I have been to in town. Most importantly, felt I could trust Dr. C and his staff, which is number one on my list! We will definitely be returning to Park Animal Hospital.

My husband I had used Park Animal Hospital since 2011. Our experiences in the beginning were very good. Dr. Wright, Dr. Rowan, and a few others were so good to us. As the office changed so did the care and the staff. Over about 6 years both of our cats and both of our dogs passed under the care of Park animal hospital. To be very clear, Park Animal Hospital did not cause the deaths of our pets. They were either very old, very sick, or both. As out final dog began to get alarmingly sick with Cushings Disease I guess I just wanted them to know my name, my dogs name, and why my dog was there. I expected them to give me proper medication instructions and to tell me when I should have my dogs blood work done and retested. I expected someone to talk to us and show a little compassion. I expected to talk to a doctor that didn’t treat me like a pest as my dog was dying. After a lot of money, frustrations, and tears we were told that 2 of the very expensive Cushings monitoring blood tests were done at the wrong time. If you don’t time the blood work the results are not accurate. The staff blamed us for not reading the medication direction before taking the time to understand that they were the ones that gave us medication instructions that were misleading. Our dog was treated for Cushings Disease for about 6 months at Park Animal Hospital. He had been there prior to that. He had been neutered there, had vaccines there, had a dental cleaning there. We were there often for treatment and medication related to his Cushings diagnosis. After the original diagnosis we were only able to speak to the doctor once. The staff never learned my name or my husbands. They never seemed to know why my dog was there for his appointment. Our last appointment with Park was for another Cushings blood test and a full panel of blood work. They took his blood at the wrong time… again. They forgot to run the full blood work and then lied about it in the chart. When I finally saw my dogs paperwork it stated that we denied blood work. We would have done anything for our dog. We did not, and would not have denied anything that may have helped him. Our dog died on December 18^th, 2016. We had to seek help elsewhere for obvious reasons. The wonderful people at Legacy Animal Hospital helped us give our boy the peace he deserved. His name was Shorty. He was a good boy. He was just as important as any other patient. He deserved better than Park Animal Hospital. I don’t have a vendetta against Park. No one can bring my pets back. What I do not want is for anyone to feel as ignored and as unimportant as we were made to feel. I don’t think Park Animal Hospital could have saved our dog. I do wish I had removed my dog from their care sooner. Not that it matters anymore but, I will never know if better care may have given him more quality of life in his last few months. Save yourself the regrets that we have.

Have been going to this office for years. Had my dogs dental cleaning done in Feb for 20% off because it is doggy dental month and my bill came to $ 307 after the discount! No extractions, just cleaning. I compared it to the bill for the last when when they charged $ 48 for the anesthetic to they’re new charge of $ 115 …TRIPLE!
There is a vet on every corner people they all care.
Find one that isn’t crooked!

Went their to put our 17-​year-​old bichon to sleep great bedside manner. He’s been going there for 17 years. Grooming and medical care and was always very healthy. Most bichons live 12 – 14 years. The vet was excellent. He made this painful visit less painful.

I’ve been taking our pup to Park for years. Dr. C is a very caring, competent vet. Rosie hates going to the vet or groomers but all the staff has made it a very pleasant experience. Big shout out!

I just moved to Nevada from Phoenix so I do not have a vet established yet. My Degu Hammy was sick and so I needed to get him into an exotic animal hospital ASAP.
The receptionist Lexie (hope I spelled it right) was super kind and understanding over the phone. I had a feeling my Hammy wasn’t going to make it so I expressed euthanasia might be his unfortunate outcome. She said to bring him in.
As soon as I arrived I filled out a couple of papers for Hammy and Lexie put us into a room immediately. Dr. Lopez saw Hammy. I was a hot mess (crying a lot) and he was extremely patient and understanding. Since Hammy was really ill (he was in pain) I did make the decision to put him to sleep. Dr. Lopez put mind at ease about my decision which helped. I filled out the paperwork and was given as much time as I needed with Hammy. Lexie explained the process, options and was very empathetic.
It is never an easy decision to have your pet put to sleep but when you have the support and empathy that I got at Park Animal hospital it eases the pain. Thank you Lexie and Dr. Lopez you truly are compassionate for what you do.

I moved last year from Washington, DC and was going to another vet in Seven Hills. That vet never really take good care of my dogs and always asked for unnecessary tests. After much asking around, I got a lot of recommendations for Park Animal Hospital.
In our initial visit which was for both the dogs’ annual exam and shots, we saw Dr. Lopez. He looked over their records and recommending not continuing 2 shots as not necessary here in Las Vegas. He also looked at the past stomach issues my dogs had and recommended a change in diet. He answered all my questions regarding the new environment and was patient and not rushing me.
Last week, we had an emergency. One of my dogs developed an eye problem. We were seen this time by Dr. Chang. Dr. Chang looked at my dog and said it is better if she refers me right away to a doggie eye specialist. She does not want me to incur double charges for tests she will do, knowing that the eye specialist will do the same tests. She quickly referred me to one and my dog was able to see the eye vet first thing the next morning. Eye vet agreed that Dr. Chang did the right thing by sending my dog over to them asap so we were able to treat the problem asap and without surgery.
The staff is great too. They are very friendly and if they can, always answers your questions without making you feel stupid or wasting their time.

While this isn’t my normal vet, I always go to Park Animal Hospital with any exotic pet needs I might have. Dr C has seen my crew for the past ten years and has always been knowledgeable, willing to chat and bounce ideas off of and supportive of the exotic pet owner. Out of the exotic vets left in town, he is the only one I feel comfortable. He does not uphold the AR propaganda («No one should own exotics» which actually translates into «No one should own any pets») and he’s great at what he does.

We adopted our dog from happy home animal shelter and they used this vet for our dogs neutering so we continued to come here after his surgery.
Unfortunately, we were here a lot within the first year we had our sweet puppy tag. Ha battled some awful bouts of diarrhea and countless other issues. Needless to say we spent a lot of money here.
After Dr. Misrahi left to join another practice we only came one out her time out of pure desperation because my dog was having severe diarrhea with blood. It was easily the scariest time for us as pup parents. Thankfully they were able to squeeze us in on a Saturday to be seen by dr Lopez. Before we saw him I have one of the techs a very detailed history and long story short she basically Doug insults at us in the back room where she thought we couldn’t hear her. My husband was livid and I was very upset but I really wanted to understand what was going on with tag.
I did end up approaching the manager about the situation and to her credit she really tried very hard to resolve the situation. That was helpful however the vet is just not stellar enough for me to be able to look past it. Two starts for the manager.

I agree with the previous reviewer – this place has never been the same since Dr. Wright left several years ago. Some of the vets that joined after Dr. Wright were good, but even they’re gone now, and it is once again a whole new crew of vets. Why do you thing there is such turn-​over of vets at this place?
Last week I took my dog there because he has a hot spot. The vet (one I’ve never seen before) prescribed a very strong dose of antibiotic. After one dose, my dog started vomiting and vomited off and on for a full day. Called the vet’s office and talked to one of the front office staff. She said she’d talk to the vet. She called back and said the vet said to take the dog off the meds for a day to see what happens. The dog stopped vomiting. I called back; front office staff said she’d talk to the vet; she called back and said the vet said to lower the dose. I did. Dog started vomiting again. I stopped the meds again and dog stopped vomiting again. Called vet’s office again; got front office staff again, said they’d talk to the vet again and call me back. This time, no one called me back. It’s been three days now, and no call.
In my opinion, the vet should have called me back personally the first time I called in. Now I’ve called in 3 times, never talked to a vet, and haven’t even gotten a call back from anyone for 3 days.
Is this the kind of vet you’d like to take your pet to?

Dr. C. is THE. BEST. VET. EVER! He is the most compassionate, wonderful vet I have ever met. He cared and treated for my guinea pig, Nibbles, for 3 weeks and tried to save her life with everything he could. He was amazing and even performed an autopsy on her after she passed just to give me peace of mind that there really was nothing else we could do. Thank you so very much Dr. C. I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful vet.

Used to be good, now its awful. Vets seem inexperienced and very eager to put your pets under the knife. I took my dog in for a tummy ache, the next day he was dead! DO NOT GO HERE!

On April 13, 2014 I took my guinea pig «Elizabeth» to Park Animal Hospital with a swollen right eye, probably caused by a poke from hay or pine bedding in her cage. A $ 115 x-​ray was suggested and taken looking for a tumor. None was found and it was diagnosed as an ulcerated cornea. Two prescription eye drops were issued and they seemed to work.
On the recheck a week later the doctor issued the pain medication Metacam (meloxicam) in place of one of the eye drops. I later found that meloxicam is for osteoarthritis in dogs and comes with a warning from the manufacturer «for use in dogs only» and «may cause acute renal failure in cats».
The dosage prescribed was six times what should have been issued if Elizabeth were a 2 pound dog. She went into acute renal failure and died on May 4, 2014. The original doctor that issued the Meticam was then terminated 2 days later.
The doctor who tried to treat her for the renal failure, tried to deter me from further investigation of the product. He told me that meloxicam is widely used for pain medication in all animals.
I was told by the manufacturer’s service center that Metacam (meloxicam) is strictly for dogs and has caused acute renal failure in cats. Any vet using this product on any animal other than dogs does so at their own risk. I believe the bottle of Metacam which was $ 33.62 was issued to pad the bill as was the suggested x-​ray at $ 115. I am now suing Park Animal Hospital for malpractice.

I work with a rescue group here in town and was introduced to Park through them. I have to say this place is great. They really do care about their patients and their owners.
You can drop your pet off in the morning and pick them up after work or whenever it is convenient for you or you can hang out with your pet for their appointment. This is really great for working parents.
They also have onsite grooming services. Just think, the full service vet!

We recently took our 5 month old boxer Phoebe to Dr. C because she had been hit by a car and her femur was broken. We weren’t sure she was going to survive, let alone walk again. We took her to them, they were open on Sunday, which was totally great. They kept her for a few days until we could decide what to do for her. Dr. C said he would be able to operate on her leg and we went ahead with the surgery. They kept her for a few weeks after her surgery, to ensure the best possible outcome for recovery. We were super happy about it because we have a two boys at home (a 2yr and a 4yr old) that would be hard to explain to them why they can’t play with her and why she can’t get out of her crate.
Phoebe was released to us just before Christmas and she is doing great. Her leg is healing and a pin was placed in her leg to stabilize it. In a couple more weeks she will have the pin removed and then she will be on the road back to normal. So far she is doing great at home. She still needs to be confined, but she is putting weight on her leg and she is antsy to move around and play.
We know she will make a full recovery and for that we are truly indebted to Dr. C, Dr. Beckus and Dr. Mizrahi (I’m hoping I spelled their names correctly) and the entire staff at Park Animal Hospital. They know what they are doing and they care about animals.

I work with a rescue group in town and am fostering a pet dog. The dog was pulled from the Leid Kill shelter, but shortly after having her, I noticed she was in heat! Since Lied is supposed to spay/​neuter any dogs that get adopted out, I figured maybe in their daily rush of surgery’s they forgot this one. So I took this small female dog is Park just to have the vet look and tell me if she was indeed spayed or not so I could contact Lied.
The receptionist wouldnt even let me see the doctor, or ask the doctor to come out. She told me that she’d have to write up a file and have to charge me an office visit. Really?! I’m here on behalf for a rescue, just needing to confirm if this dog was fixed so that it could be taken care of one way or another.
This vet is like so many others. All they want is your money and dont care about the animal. It takes 5 seconds to look at a dogs stomach and tell if it was fixed. And they wanted to charge me $ 45 for that!!!
I will never recommend this place all due to this receptionist.
Vets can be good, but that doesnt mean they wont charge you for every little thing. They are a rip off!!!
