A great way to introduce children to tennis is Red Rock Tennis Club. We learned about The Red Rock Pro Open for USTA women. This $ 50,000 Pro Circuit Challenger tournament with a 32-​player field in singles and 16 doubles teams caught my attention in 2014. It was a chance to observe action packed live tennis. Look for the event during the fall run by the director and Red Rock Country Club staff. We enjoyed the Kids’ Day with FREE snow cones, face painting, a bounce house, carnival games and tennis clinic for children hosted by the pro players. It was the first time my preschool age son took a racquet in his hand and hit a ball across the court. The positive experience was felt by all. I thank Red Rock Country Club for this community event and encouraging youth tennis play.
