Congratulations to Me !!! I’m the lucky winner of free airline tickets for two to anywhere in the US. Yeah, right. First, this woman told me she was from Delta Airlines and that I would receive two free airline tickets just for the celebration of their new travel services. After I listened for a while I thought, this has got to be some sort of scam. It sounded like a timeshare presentation to me so I asked them, «Is this a timeshare presentation?» Oh, no. Just come celebrate the opening of our new travel agency and give us your opinion. OK. So then the woman said she needed to put her supervisor on the phone to make sure I understood everything. Another woman came on the line and I asked her, «Is this a timeshare presentation?» Oh, no. Certainly not. This is a new travel agency, Sapphire Resorts. Just come celebrate with us. We have about an hour and a half presentation. Hmmm. Still sounds like a timeshare presentation to me. She gave me the address and tried to schedule me and my wife to come to the Jockey Club for their «celebration.» I told her I had to wait for my wife to get home before I could commit to anything. Then, I googled Sapphire Resorts. Thanks to everyone who posted on here. I was very leary of this whole thing in the first place but reading these reviews confirmed that I don’t want to waste my time dealing with these scam artists. It’s too bad people have to stoop to cheating people in order to make a living. If they put that much effort into a positive endeavor they would do much better in life.

SCAM!!! This company blatantly lies about the promo. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! You can only stay in the crappy hotels when you go to confirm the weekend, unless you want to pay a $ 400 upgrade charge. I was told I could stay in any hotel I wanted as long as I listened to the «presentation» of them trying to get you to buy a time share. LIARS!

I echo the reviews of many folks below. Overall I think we got a good deal out of our trip, but still was a serious pain in the behind. I’ve being through a few different time share presentations and every company’s tactics are pretty much the same, though I must say the dude this time (from Sapphire Resorts /​GeoHoliday, at the Jockey Club) was particularly effective… I fricking signed like ¹⁄₃ of the papers before I woke myself up and GTFO.
That’s when the pain started… they initially refused to refund my $ 50 that I paid, claiming that I still need to go on a second tour. After some back and forth, I finally got a VISA card w/​$ 50. Then all the other stuff that I was promised was not given to me either, and I had to pull up the initial e-​mail confirming my vacation booking in order to finally gets all the gifts I was promised.
In the end, a promised 120 minute presentation turned into 4 hours. At least I’m going to say I came out alright at the end. BUT BEWARE AND KEEP YOUR WITS ABOUT YOU!!!

I had called for a Vegas getaway and thought it was to good to be true. Stayed on the strip and had the time of our lives. Yes we had to take a presentation but it was not that bad. I think for what you get taking a presentation is no big deal. Would say give it a try

Veronica, Rosalind, Alex, Christina ALL played a role in this scam. They refused to take any responsibility even though they know they gave me wrong information.

I signed up for Resorts Stay International’s raffle at Wet-​N-​Wild and have been pestered, badgered, annoyed by Resort Stay’s agents ever since. After reading the reviews, I have found to have had the same experience as the majority. Everything about the entire process just after you sign-​up is SHADY SHADY SHADY!

Scammers!!! Do not take the timeshare tour! They beat you down mentally, offer multiple «deals» for timeshare packages, when you say no, they say they will turn you over to another person to «check you out» for the day. That person offers you another «deal» when you don’t except that deal either, he gets snippy a says, «your really missing out». They turn you over to another person to «check you out’ for the day. He offers yet, another «deal». I honestly don’t know how these people sleep at night. This 3^rd man, Jed Starkman, total con artist, told us we could get 3 weeks timeshare rentals for $ 399, plus a $ 75 dollar activation fee, per week. He said we could activate the weeks and pay the $ 75 over the phone, and there was no limit on when we had to use the 3 weeks. He showed us a few papers that we needed to sign, once we paid he gave us an envelop with all of the papers inside. Over further review of the «packet» he gave us we discovered that the certificates for the 3 weeks timeshare actually had a back to them, with all of the «fine print» he neglected to show us, or tell us those certificates even had anything on the back. The fine print said that there are limitations, you must send in the $ 75 via cashiers check and certified mail. You have 60 days to send in the certificates or they are void and you must use the weeks within one year of activation. All of that is the opposite of what this Jed Starkman told us. All of these people are out to scam you and make you jump through hoops, hoping you will not even bother to use the weeks they sold you. I am embarrassed I fell for such a scam! I said no, 2 times before, but they keep talking and beating you down until you finally give in, who knows what «deal» they would have offered if I had rejected the 3^rd mans «deal».
I sent in one certificate with a $ 75 money order, certified mail, to the address given, my certified mail receipt said it was signed for on July 6, it is now July 25 and I have not received the activation, in order to book a trip. I called the company at RCI and was sent to Dee, she is rude and horrible, she didn’t offer any customer service, she just kept saying, «I can’t do anything until its on my desk. I don’t know what you want me to tell you.»
Extremely disappointed.

I am reviewing the phone number 1−800−934−2001.
This number is one digit different than Capital One’s Customer Service Line for callers outside of US & Canada. These scam artists are aware of this & prey on customers believing they are calling Capital One Customer Support after normal business hours. During normal business hours the number refers to a free trip scam & after business hours they answer as if you have been selected as the recipient of a free $ 100 gift voucher. You think you are on the phone w/​Capital One & they tell you for a small processing & shipping fee you will have the free voucher mailed to you. They also inform you that you must pay this small fee with a different credit card.
They attempted to scam me but since they told me that after I hang up & re-​call Capital One’s Customer Support I will be contacted with their Customer Support Team because they were busy right now, I realized I dialed the wrong number & contacted my bank & cancelled my card. My bank’s Fraud Support ensures me that any charge attempt linked to my account will be investigated.
I alerted Capital One & reported Capital One to the Federal Trade Commission for failure to alert their customers of this scam. As you can see multiple people reported this scam on here as far back as 2011 & yet Capital One tells me they never heard of this scam. I called Capital One 4 times in the last 24 hours & they ensure me that they have notified law enforcement to have this investigated. I do not believe them & that is why I reported Capital One to the Federal Trade Commission & also to have this phone number tracked & investigated.
For anyone that believes they have been scammed by these people report it to the Federal Trade Commission (
) & for anyone who has called this number 1−800−934−2001 by mistake when attempting to contact Capital One Customer Support contact Capital One (inside US & Canada 1−800−955−7070 & 1−804−934−2001 outside of US & Canada) & report this phone scam.

The sale person emailed and called me about a «free» Las Vegas stay if my husband and I were to attend a timeshare presentation. She promised there is a $ 99 refundable deposit and if we can’t make it, just call them to cancel the reservation before 5 days and they will fully refund the deposit. However, we decided not to go and never even book a hotel date with them after we found out reviews on Unilocal.
We kindly requested our deposit which we made on 8÷4÷2014 and they said that it is non-​refundable until we attend the timeshare presentation. We called them (Jennifer and whoever her Manager was) 5 times and each time would get a different story why they can’t refund our money. I have opened a dispute with our credit card company but felt we need to file a compliant with BBB as well.

Well I apologize for everyone else having a not-​so-​great experience with Resort Stay International! Mine on the other hand went a lot differently… not great, but not bad either! The simplicity of basic customer service etiquette is indeed shotty. The first 2 reps that I initially started with were giving me a lot of gibberish and muffled monotone responses. A lot of coughing, putting me on hold excessively, etc. And then I finally got Jennifer ;) She’s made life a lot easier, and things went much smoother from that point on. She’s great in customer service first and foremost, and very detailed and consistent in everything she promised relating to my stay in Vegas. Every time I had a question or two I would ask for her, and if she was busy then she would ALWAYS return my calls. I just came back from Vegas. My trip was WAY to short however! Wish I would’ve stayed longer. But anywho everything went accordingly and she delivered as she said she would! And therefore I would use them again in a heartbeat. The household income stuff was laid out, the $ 99 refundable fee was given, extras were honored etc. I couldn’t have been more satisfied! Thank you Jennifer!!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. I’ve seen them at several street fair events (I met them at the LA Times Festival of Books) under big friendly signs that say «Free Trips to Napa, Vegas, or Hawaii.»
I attempted to attend the first presentation, drove about 45 minutes to get there, and turned out, it had been canceled but nobody bothered to notify me. Went for a second time, had to endure getting hit on by the very unprofessional salesperson the entire time, but left with my «free» trip.
I was then harassed by phone multiple times a day for months to get me to put down a $ 99 deposit for the «free» trip, and then, after paying and booking my trip, found out that the offer had been misrepresented and they’re now refusing to refund my money.
I’ve reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and to my credit card company for fraud and misrepresentation.
UPDATE – I just spoke with someone in management at the company who actually TOLD ME that the offer had been misrepresented, but it was my fault for not figuring that out and canceling within their short cancellation window. AMAZING.

Total scam. We purchased a 2 nite stay at the Jockey Club. This is what we got at Palace Station. Sapphire Resorts blamed Resort Stay International. RSI blamed Palace Station. Avoid at all cost!

Bait and Switch… Not ok. Dont go down this road

This company called several times, trying to get us to participate in their presentation. We politely declined several times; however they are extremely persistent, so we had seriously considered doing the tour. They offered prizes and said we had been selected for one, and all we had to do was listen. Sounds great, that’s until they start requesting you to bring all this personal information (ie. Credit card, bills, ect.). The company is persistent and RUDE! The last time this company called, we politely declined once again, and the man hung up on me! After reading other reviews about this company it really just seems like a scam, and I don’t expect this to be the last we from this unprofessional company! Just remember if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

I ACTUALLY called them — by accident. It was listed as the number at the back of my capital one credit card (but I dint realize that it was for ‘Outside of the US or International” number only.)
At any case, I asked if this was Capital One’s phone number, and they evaded the question and said I was selected by my credit card company for a free trip (sounds legit, if you think your rewards credit card is on the other end!).
The lady on the phone was a real fast talker and dint answer any of my questions directly — after about 10 minutes of evasion, I finally got the company’s name out of her and did a quick Google search and found this very Unilocal page!
Upon reading the horror storys I VERY POLITELY told her that I would like to decline and am no longer interested. The conversation went like this:
RESORT STAY: blah blah blah, free free free
ME: That all sounds wonderful, but I think I’m going to pass. Thanks for your time.
RS: Why?! Its all FREE!!!
ME: I’ve just Googled your company, and am reading some reviews…
RS: (cuts me off) NO NO don’t look at Google!
ME: ???
RS: Go to the Jockey Club website — you can see how nice the property is
ME: No thanks, I am going to respectfully decline
RS: Why?! Look at the Jockey Club Website, we have newly renovated rooms.
ME: No thanks!
RS: Don’t you like the new rooms you see there?
ME: I see some very bad reviews about Resort Stay — in fact, seems like your company is running some kind of fraudula…
RS: *SLAMS PHONE in my face
ME: ???
So that sums it up — thieves. They are thieves.

Whew! Glad I did not commit to anything when they called me. I am going to call them back and tell them to remove me from the running. At first I thought this must have been a trick, someone must have dropped my info in a box somewhere… nope, it was me, at Christmas time. Ugh, never doing that again.

Thank you so muc for your reviews guys! I just got off the phone with a rep for this amazing deal. All I had to do was sit through a 90 min presentation and pay $ 99 deposit. Yea, I was extremely skeptical so i did a search and came across your reviews which confirmed that I was right to be skeptical! Thank you!

My situation is similar to Dee’s. Came to Vegas for a Girls’ Weekend but had to spend 2 hours telling the sales rep that I didn’t want to buy their over-​priced property. When I booked my room over 6 weeks prior to the trip, they sent a confirmation for a nicer hotel. Then they called 3 days before the trip to confirm, but i learned they’d changed my hotel to a substandard location and lied about the rooms having been renovated. Mind you… when they called to confirm, it was too late to cancel without losing my $ 99 deposit.
When I arrived at the substandard hotel, a hotel staffer advised the rooms hadn’t been renovated at all. When I called to demand a hotel change, the supervisor conveniently had left for the day and the phone rep couldn’t accommodate my request to move. I ended up spending the weekend at a much better hotel but they will be getting a few phone calls a day until I get reimbursed for having to shell out $ 280 for a hotel that would’ve been cheaper had I booked it 6 weeks prior. Don’t be fooled by these low budget and unethical liars, this company is not to be trusted!!!

I’ve had the misfortune of getting calls from this place ever since I went to The Magical Forest last month (For the record, I don’t blame Opportunity Village), as they had one of those contest forms to fill out, and ever the naively trusting soul I am, I filled one out.
Last weekend, I got a call from Resort Stay, saying that I was «in the running» to win the money (so they called me to let me know I had a chance to win? Isn’t that the point of submitting to the contest in the first place?). Anyway, while I was in the running, I apparently won a treasure trove of magical and wonderful gifts that if true, would well go past the prize money. Plane tickets for two to anywhere in the United States. A resort stay in Orlando. A resort stay in Hawaii. A $ 50 gift card to any restaurant on the Strip. Show tickets…
All I had to do is listen to a 90 minute presentation. You guessed it: Timeshare.
But! They didn’t need any financial information, they swore. They would need to verify I had a credit card, but wouldn’t need to look at the number. The missus and I would just bring in mail with our address to prove we lived where we lived, and if we weren’t sold on the timeshare, no hard feelings, and I could walk away with all my gifts. No charge. All free.
Okay, here’s one of the things that just sat with me: Why in the wide world of sports would I even CONSIDER owning a timeshare in Vegas when I not only live here already, but OWN my own place? But free treasures, remember. Aladdin’s Cave of Wonders had opened up to me, and I probably would have been promised a free monkey at this point to complete the experience and get me in there (Oh, I’d TAKE a monkey. Believe you me). And they recorded the whole conversation to ensure I’d come. Even offered to pay for parking. They just wanted me to see the place.
So I told the missus, who told me that very same day, she got a call regarding a timeshare from a company called Starpoint Resort Group.
We compared numbers. Starpoint and Resort Stay called from the exact same number.
And then I read every review I could online, each warning about the conditions, and hidden fees, and that the tickets have blackout dates, and reported instances of blank valued gift cards at SELECTED restaurants. Not the run of the Strip that I was told.
And then I read the e-​mail. Those numerous free trips? Each had several hundred dollars worth of taxes, and government fees and surcharges, and processing fees, and tax deposits. And EACH TRIP had its own share of fees. «B-​but they were all free», you say! The nice man on the phone said NOTHING about these little extraneous fees!
Two rules folks: When someone offers you something for free, there’s always some hidden little catch. Also, ALWAYS read the fine print. That’s how I discovered the numerous fees they so conveniently forgot to mention in all those phone calls.
I called and told them I couldn’t make it.
They didn’t get a dime from me, they don’t have my financial information, and they call fairly often now, but it’s really sad that you can’t even fill out a contest form anymore to fool yourself that you might have a chance of winning something. It seems that all these drawings do now are just cleverly worded traps to sucker people who hope for a free vacation.
I guess there’s a third tip: Stop filling out contest forms. This is the second time in a year that hopes of winning something has tried to get money out of me for a fool’s gold treasure.
