Rocket Fizz

I took my mother here (for her first time ever) shortly before Christmas 2015 to get unique stocking stuffers. We were adamant about steering clear from the typical Hershey kisses and Reese’s peanut butter trees.
The experience we had was a wonderful one. I love going places and making memories in places you’d never expect to remember. Rocket Fizz was such a welcoming place with an absolute FUN atmosphere, definitely the kind of place that leaves a mark on your memory!!! Their playlist was consisting of all the classics from the 50’s-60’s era (I believe), which I adored.
On top of finding nostalgic candy and toys, we were successfully able to pull together awesome stockings! From candy necklaces to Cowtails. From Zots to Mango flavored Lucas (my absolute FAVORITE). They had everything we were looking for!
And the cherry on top? The phenomenal staff. When it came time for me to collect candy for my boyfriends stocking, I was running into trouble. My boyfriend has a severe allergy to anything that has Red40 Dye in it… Aka, just about every candy you can think of that isn’t chocolate. So, one employee, of an older age (can’t remember her name), went above AND BEYOND to check the ingredients on MANY different salt water
taffy’s to make sure they didn’t have Red40. She even helped me put back the ones I thought were safe, but to my knowledge, still had the dye in it.
It’s safe to say that my mother, who doesn’t like to get out much, had a blast! She said it was one of the best days she’s had in a long time! This is the place to go and I recommend it to many of my friends! I will definitely be returning again. Thank you people of RocketFizz!

Rocket Fizz is an awesome shop!!!
The place is decked out quite nicely with soda pop, candy and vintage memorabilia feels very nostalgic. I was amazed by the various soda producers from different regions some old and some new. It’s satisfying that I can expand my cola palate farther than just Coke and Pepsi.
They also have lots gimmicky sodas such as peanut butter, bubble gum and cucumber definitely an acquired taste. Surprisingly, the cucumber flavor was quite good tastes like Sprite.
It’s so much fun discovering new flavors and brands.
You’ll find tons of old school candies some of which I haven’t had in a long time.
Bazooka bubblegum, Clark Bar, Zagnut, Atomic fireball, Cigarette Candy and Big League Chew Grape. I forgot how awful Zagnut tastes, I only ate it because I remember it from Beetlejuice.

Cheerwine — Very nice black cherry flavor
Bundaberg (peach) — This is the best peach soda.
Dublin Bottling Works — if you can find it they make awesome Cherry-​Limeade

Have you ever admitted to that «silent, but deadly» stench escaping your body while in public? There’s a 1^st for everything, right?
Far off in the back corner of this Eastern Avenue Rocket Fizz store I saw the perfect stocking stuffer that would be a sure bet for getting any kid in trouble if brought to school. Well, I was a big kid in this candy shop on Christmas Eve and saw a display of the «FART BAG.» Nobody was around, didn’t notice any security cameras, and thought to myself, hmmm, lets test this out… I squeezed the little bag and a small pop sound occurred. I thought to myself, that’s it? Nope! Within seconds, a rotten egg smell permeated the entire store and the cashier looked right at me with a grin and look of disgust. I was busted! I admitted to it and purchased two for Christmas stockings.
Besides fart bags, they offer another gag type gift that I had fun purchasing… Jelly Belly Bean Boozled. It is a box of Jelly Belly jelly beans that have two flavors with the same color. e.g., Orange color could be Peach flavor or Vomit. Green could be Juicy Pear flavor or Booger, Black could be Licorice flavor or Skunk Spray, etc. It’s a fun little game included with a spinner that lands on a flavor for 1 of 2 players to test the flavor. Fun!
So many delicious nostalgic candies… Chuckles, Candy cigarettes, Pez, Good & Plenty, Zotz, Pop Rocks, Bazooka bubblegum, Charleston Chews, Bit O Honey, Wax candy, Jujubes, Atomic fireballs, Oh Henry, Boston baked beans, etc.
Hundreds of modern day candy available too… Hershey’s, Reese’s, 3 Musketeers, buckets upon buckets of salt water taffy, more!
Located off Eastern, North of the 215, between Gabriella’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria and Havana Grill.

I love this place, so charming. And I love to see all the candies from my childhood. However, the soda selection and the taffy wall are the highlights for me personally

This is my favorite place to get candy in town, it’s such a cute set up, the employees are always sweet and interesting, and the candy is cheap and delicious. The old-​time candy shop ideal is my favorite thing. Love Rocket Fizz!

Looking for ranch flavored soda and pop rocks? You can find that and many more nostalgic candies and goodies at Rocket Fizz. A chain store but this location has friendly staff and well stocked shelves, always a fun place to peruse he shelves. I always leave with at least one of two overpriced bites to enjoy.

This place is so fun, they have such a great selection of new and old fashioned candy. Great place to pick up a present and awesome for stocking stuffers. The only downside is it’s kind of expensive.

So much fun. My kids and I went a little crazy in there. The woman helping us was knowledgeable, friendly and seems to enjoy what she does. So many nostalgic candies and sodas, hard to choose.

I guess the last time I was in a true dedicated candy store was probably those mediocre Sweet Factory shops inside the mall. Thankfully Rocket Fizz is a totally different experience and actually worth stopping by if you are looking for something unique or specific.
Rocket Fizz had a great mix of nostalgic candy, drinks, signs and plenty of novelty gifts. Its fun just to look around at all different snacks from around the world. If you are looking for some rare/​specific candy, this is probably your best bet. There are a couple locations around town but the experience has been consistent across all of them. Staff is a walking encyclopedia of candy trivia and soda facts. This little candy shop is definitely worth the visit.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place as were heading to Havana Grill next door. What a fortunate surprise. My husband loves specialty sodas and previously we were driving over to World Market on Blue Diamond for them, but we won’t have to do that anymore!
The selection of sodas and candy here is crazy. You can’t imagine it until you see it. We had so much fun walking around discovering new and old candies and sodas. I found candies that I remember from childhood, but haven’t seen in quite awhile. I also found items that I’ve never seen before. This shop is definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled across this place after eating dinner next door. SO much fun. They have comical signs for purchase, different out of this world soda favors, candy for every generation, and a bunch of little funny gifts. Great for yourself or a gift. Just love this place!

I love nostalgia, and this place is the perfect mix of nostalgic drinks, candies and signage (for purchase), splashed with modern and eclectic candies and treats. We walked around the store before watching a movie at the Colonnade theater a few doors down.
Seeing the old fashioned candies flew me back to my childhood. It triggered wonderful memories of getting spoiled as a kid with different candies, some that I hadn’t seen for many years before that day we visited Rocket Fizz.

Halloween stash was past the point of edible so I went to Rocket Fizz needing a candy fix. The amount of candy and soda they have is great, so many choices. I walked around with my basket and before you know it I had spent $ 20. Actually I thought the prices were pretty good for a specialty shop. The customer service was good, no complaints in that area at all.
My bummer moment was when I got home and started to open the candy. About ½ of the candy was hard … as hard as the old halloween candy I was avoiding. I was pretty disappointed because some of my taffy had a crunch. I got 3 different flavors of taffy. For example I would have 1 crunchy hard piece of taffy and then I would have the same flavor but it would be soft. This was the story for my entire bag of taffy I bought. That leads me to believe the products aren’t being rotated properly. I bought a few packs of bubble gum which was hard and old as well. I also placed a few items that I wanted back onto the shelfs because I could feel the gummies were hard.
Overall great place for candy with a great selection and wonderful customer service. Just make sure your candy is fresh.

This place is awesome! They have novelty sweets, retro candies and a wide variety of bottled soda, some of their own brand. It’s a great place to check out for the kids plus the adults looking for a classic piece of candy or gum. I found Freshen Up gum!!!

It was great that the staff was helpful and knowledgable of their inventory. I had specific inquiries and they had each one of them. The employee even went to the back of the store to check for a specific candy I was looking for. Very helpful.
Store was cozy and comfortable, and fully stock!
I was so happy coming home with my favorite candies and a bottle of Sarsaparilla!!!

Fantastic place to get hard to find sodas and candys! My favorite is grape fruit soda!

Niiice Saturday afternoon with the kids in a candy store. Sometimes I get a little skittish taking pictures in people’s establishment because I had a bad experience one instance taking pics of a newly opened business. So I was a little reserved at first, but inside I’m like Ooooohhh I want to take PICTURES!
The lady at the counter begun speaking to the kids and laughing with us and talking about different candies. I was a little more comfortable at that point to really feel like a kid in the candy store. Well honestly isn’t that the feeling all of us want to re-​live when we go to these types of shops? Of Course We Do! :-) Now taking pictures and then walking out without purchasing anything would be a tad bit abusive, so I don’t suggest anyone do that anywhere in any shop. With that said I loved all the taffy selections. I love that they have candies you can buy with just the change in your ashtray. Now how cool is Thaaaaaaat?!
Now I really didn’t expect seeing so many different pop drinks. So many different kinds, I felt like I was in a how it’s made t.v. series.lol. They had different international candies and what not. They even had some nostalgia poster boards and candy for purchase as well. They have some gag gifts as well as gift assortment boxes.
Pretty much I liked the visit, felt good, if you like to know more you know what to do.

I’ve been to the other Rocket Fizz in town fo sheezy. Not sure why I expected this one to be anything different. If flavored colas are your thing, then you will probably be in heaven; the selection of sodas is mind-​numbing. Alas, Mr. Pibb will always have my heart when it comes to sugar water.
That said, I LOVE candy stores. Along with wings, it’s my kryptonite. There is nothing better than rainbow sherbert topped with sour patch kids. And I’ll take a well-​made fruit tart over a molten lava cake any day. That’s just me. :)
This place just fails to tickle my taint. Yeah, it’s cool and has some different stuff. But I’ve been to the pinnacle of candyland and it’s called Norm’s News in Kalispell (imagine a Sweet Factory on Barry Bonds juice complete with burgers, old-​fashioned malts, and homemade fudges.) So, this place doesn’t do it for me. Sorry. The sugar-​free selection was HIGHLY disappointing — most of the stuff I could get at the local Wal-​Mart grocery store. I know — who the hell goes to a candy shop for sugar-​free stuff? I do. Because good SF candy is hard to find.
The saving grace was that I could buy some Tiger Pops by the pound. It is super-​cool that it’s next to a movie theater. I totally appreciate that. $ 8 for a movie and $ 5 for popcorn? How does that work? I’m paying $ 8 for Denzel to act like Denzel in that one movie specifically made for Denzel because Denzel has a Denzel lifestyle. But $ 5 for some corn sown likely by illegal immigrants? At least you can come here and sneak some real candy in before the show. That’s what Denzel would do!!!
All in all, it’s okay. I’ve seen better candy shops honestly. I haven’t seen a better soda selection anywhere else, ever, if that’s your thing and you like to sip variations of exotic nerd-​nectar while playing World of Warcraft. (Hey I’m not judging I grew up on Ultima.)
But I came for the candy, and specifically to scope out the sugar-​free selction, and left spending under $ 5, albeit with some bomb Tiger Pops, and wishing I’d driven to Sweet Factory.

WOW! WOW! WOW!
That was my first impression after coming in. It’s ironic that I have always wanted to go to Rocket Fizz but for some reason, always had something come up for me not to go. So when I had the chance to go, I conveniently discover that they have a new location open up on Eastern Ave. So instead of making my way over to the west side of town off of Sahara and Fort Apache, I make my way over to technically Henderson.
As an adult, I was literally a kid in a candy store. Of course I just happen to bring my two boys with me ages 9 and 12. It was awkward for me having to explain to them what Garbage Pail Kids were and some of the other candies from back in the day.
Im so glad that I am not a root beer or soda fanatic because if I was, I would go broke stocking up on all the different flavors they have there. You have that and all the different taffy flavors as well.
After posting my pics, I didn’t realize I had a bacon theme going on. If there ever was a store called Bacon Fizz, I would be the Duke of that place forever.
So if you have a sweet tooth, are not diabetic, brush your teeth constantly, and have a great dental plan, then this is the place for you.
