Rocket Fizz

At Rocket Fizz, you can take a trip down memory lane. They have candies that span every decade, even those you thought were discontinued. This is the perfect place to bring grandparents, parents, and your children. There is something for everyone.
The best part of Rocket Fizz is not the candy, it’s the soda tastings. They are held twice per week and are not to be missed. Should you miss it, they have a wide variety of sodas to purchase. There must be at least 20 different types of root beer! I purchased bacon soda, not to be confused with baking soda, for a colleague of mine who loves bacon.
This has to be one of the happiest places in Las Vegas.

I write this review as I’m cleaning up all the taffy flakes. I didn’t think taffy should flake into pieces… yes it does when it’s old and hard! Terrible old taffy!!! My husband and I came here after our friends raved about it. I question our friendship now… Lol. The concept is decent I’ve been to similar stores in other states with way better candy. This place had one wall of taffy and the rest of the candy I have see at the grocery stores. The one thing they have a lot of variety with is their sodas. But I don’t drink soda so wasn’t all that impressed. I was highly disappointed in the quality of taffy. I was seriously concerned about my teeth as I tried to power through the hardness. Bottom line. Pass on this place. Especially for the pricing.

Such an awesome store! The employee (didn’t get his name, could be the owner :/​) was so friendly and welcoming. Wasn’t overbearing, let me shop which I like. When I went to check out had a fun little tidbit of info for me. I really enjoyed my experience and will be going back. Also if you are a fan of Archie McPhee they have a variety of items for sale in the store. I’m so happy I finally checked out this place!

Had to write a review for this place. The service is incredible. There are so many options of sodas and candies to choose from that I didn’t know what to choose. A worker assisted me in finding the right soda. He was extremely kind and charismatic, loved the dude. I’ll definitely be returning!

My Mom went crazy for this nostalgia-​filled store when we stopped in for some candy before catching a preview of «Brooklyn» at Regal Village Square. We were warmly greeted by the lone young male employee as we browsed the sweets and soda selection; Mom commended him on the sparkling clean store inquiring «do YOU dust all of this?!» Someone sure does.
Whether your sugary ‘poison’ of choice is vintage or new, unique glass bottled soda (I was glad to see Virgil’s Sugar Free, an occasional indulgence for my Dad) or a favorite childhood candy, they probably have it, and then some in the bountiful inventory. Interspersed amongst the sugary treat displays, novelty items, and refrigerated pop are retro metal signs which adorn the brightly colored walls. Mom pointed out several from her youth, smiling the whole time we were perusing.
Finally settling on some salt water taffy — which is sold in bulk, separated by flavor — and her favorite Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews, my Australian Black Licorice, we bid the friendly young male shopkeeper adieu, and enjoyed a wonderful movie along with our indulgences. Anyplace that makes my all-​time BFF this happy is 4* easy for me: sometimes the simplest things bring great joy; it was a perfect evening!
Alas, Neil Young was right: we can’t live on «Sugar Mountain» but, we can stop in this lovely shop when we yearn for those carefree days, or a sugar rush ;)

I love this candy store. First off, they have all the candy you can imagine even the ones from your childhood or the ones that they don’t normally sell in get USA. So i just love being able to walk around and see all the candies I grew up with and now can enjoy again. I always take kids that I babysit to here and they are in awe at all the shelves upon shelves of wonderful candy. Not only is this store amazing but the staff is amazing! The owner is just a wonderful guy who is very authentic and fun to talk to!

Old school candy shop in Village Square (Sahara and Ft. Apache) by Bachi Burger.
Immediately greeted by a friendly worker and a wall of soda. I thought I walked in a candy shop but I saw soda in every angle and direction possible. Is this what heaven looks like? This cool and knowledgeable guy at the counter gave some great suggestions for us and we picked few soda based on his recommendation along with some weird/​disgusting sounding ones.
Buffalo Wing: If I was given a blind test on this, I wouldn’t have guessed that this was buffalo wing flavor. It tasted like orange juice with some spices.
Peanut Butter and Jelly: I didn’t taste a hint of peanut butter but it definitely had a jelly flavor. Unique flavor but ok for me
Ranch: ranch dressing flavored soda? We were hesitant to get it first. Then the guy said it is the worst tasting out of their entire collection so we immediately jumped on it. Tasted like what paper cup would taste like and smelled like a laundry detergent. Perfect if you want to prank someone.
They also had other soda in the flavor green tea, chocolate, ginger, peaches and cream, bacon, etc.
I had a lot of fun looking through the shop. Unique collection of candy and soda with a touch of good service=5 stars!

This place is awesome, they have current dates candy and candy from decades ago definitely not your average candy store and the cashier Andrew was extremely helpful and extremely informative he gave us a brief rundown on all things «Rocket Fizz» if you have a sweet tooth this will be your playground.

We love coming here. The best selection of candy and soda and game nostalgia. The staff here is very friendly. I enjoy just bring in the store and seeing candy and goodies from my childhood.

If you’re looking for rare or vintage candy, or different flavored sodas, this is the place to come! I always get a 6 pack of their chocolate soda, but there’s not shortage of flavors, to every Jones soda you can imagine, to bacon flavored soda, to ranch dressing flavored soda (eww)!

My first time stopping by a novelty item/​candy store and the owner was really helpful to us and recommends what best when it comes to soda. They’re pretty cheap and the store is so organized and clean. They got so many wall frame décor that I might need to come back and grab some for my kitchen.

Located on the westside of town, this hipper than thou candy/​soda store has almost every oddball candy and soda ever made as well as some familiar favorites, it is a fun place to look around and see what is the weirdest thing you would try. The only demised are some of the prices, they are a bit high, I mean come on, I shouldn’t need to put a Snickers on layaway. Other than that it’s worth a stop in and a look around, who knows you my find something off the wall you want to try. Live It Up You Are In Las Vegas For Cryin’ Out Loud!

Very fun store!!! Filled with novelty items and so many types of candy/​soda. It is fun just to go in and look around. They have many tin signs for sale which will equally keep you entertained! The staff was super friendly and made my day. They were helpful and picked out a couple good sodas I enjoyed. Will definitely return! I got the nuclear orange bomb, so good!

How can you not like this place?
Old school candy shop, packed floor to ceiling with pretty much any kind of soda, candy or sugary concoction you could want. The store if filled with bins of saltwater taffy, stacks of rare chocolates and rows of unique sodas.
The staff is great and more than just simple cashiers, they their products and come armed with excellent recommendations. There are plenty of retro posters, tin signs and novelty magnets as well. its clear that this place tugs on the heartstrings of baby boomers but appeals to younger crowds as well. Its right next door to the Village Square theater so its a perfect spot to pick up some candy or snacks after the movie. I will say that some of the items are a bit pricey but considering the rare nature of most of their products, the price is understandable.

No, this doesn’t bring back any nostalgic memories for me. It’s just plain awesome.
Rocket Fizz is your Daddy’s candy shop. The old school soda, candy, and Buddy Holly Rock music playing here is enough to make any person think their Marty McFly at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance.
I walked in and immediately wanted to touch and taste everything. The candy supply here is enough to make anyone dance with sugary delight and the soda selection is ridiculous. I’m not a soda drinker, but if you like to indulge in sugary, liquidity goodness this is your place. I mean there must at least 100 different types of sodas here… Black Cherry Mountain, 1 million cream soda varieties, and even a mixture called Cock Cola, it’s good for your… heart.
Beyond the candy and soda, there’s tons of old school toys and random awesomeness. I almost bought spy glasses and Bigfoot action figure. Sadly, those didn’t end up in my bag, instead I got some snappers, a Goo Goo Cluster, Skybar, and some Garbage Pail Kids cards.
Awesome place, with amazing customer service as well. Ask Damien, the owner, he knows everything about candy and will try to get you a certain product if he doesn’t have it in stock at the moment.
Rockets Away!

I patronized this throw back candy store for Small Business Saturday, which gives AMEX holders $ 10 back on a $ 10 purchase. Yippee!
I was looking for a gift pack of retro candy (60s, 70s, etc) which they didn’t have. Plan B was a cool retro tin sign for my home «bar». Plenty of those babies covering the walls! The signs run about $ 15, and they have different themes such as humor, bar décor and automotive.
I’ve had some of their soda also, and they have weird flavors (I like ‘em) and all the old favorites. It’s fun to see all the candy I used to enjoy back in my tweens! This stuff does not come cheaply, but it will bring a smile!

Blast off into kid heaven!
We love this store! Candies, chocolates, sweets and treats. All shapes and sizes. Even ones you can’t normally find. We walk around ooooing and awwwwing at stuff we haven’t seen since we were kids. I loooove the metal signs hanging along the walls, I read each and everyone. While you’re there, check out the refrigerators along the wall with drinks off all kinds.
It’s always hard to come to a decision on what candy I want to take home. Too many choices, and I’d really like to just say «Can I get one of everything!» but I end up with something dark chocolate or a sour candy.
Don’t forget on your way out to check the tiny whiteboard by the counter, figure out the riddle and get a free taffy. I’ll be back to get my cardboard cutout of Jax Teller and my dashboard zombie!

Can’t say much that others haven’t before me– stopped in with my sweet-​tooth BF. I don’t really care for sodas or candy, so I’m not really part of the target audience here. Appreciated seeing the many vintage or limited-​edition items and signage, though.
In addition to eatables and drinkables, there are some novelty items– picked up a few items as gifts for a friend. Would come back to get a selection of oddball treats as a white elephant gift or to look for a particular sweet for a friend.

This place is awesome. I mean… awesome!
Even my little one year old son, was pointing around at things which meant that there were a lot of things that caught his eye (he doesn’t know what soda and candy is yet, so it was the signs that did it for him).
Walls of soda, and candy that you haven’t seen in years. They actually had the candy cigarettes that I thought were completely gone. We actually walked in thinking there was soda fountain drinks and walked out with some Mechi candies and some out-​of-​the-​world drinks.
Brilliant idea for putting next to a theater since it has so much selection that it’s a kid’s dream come true. Forget movie concessions… give me some Rocket Fizz!

While walking with friends through the parking lot headed to Bachi Burger I noticed this place. I mentioned it to my friends and that I had seen in on Unilocal so they suggested we stop in and check it out. Upon entering the store I didn’t know where to start. To my left was a wall of soda, to the right was a bunch of eye catching novelties, and down the middle of the store was a variety of candy that I hadn’t in years seen and some that I had never even heard of.
As we made our way through the store an employee came over to talk to us about the varieties of sodas they have. I saw so many that looked good. I chose a brand called «Sprecher» and it was «Cherry Cola». DELISH! I hope they always have these in stock because I loved it! My friends picked out one and really enjoyed theirs too. They have tons of flavors so you might be able to find one from your childhood you didn’t know you could get anymore or you might find one you never even knew about but wan to try.
I felt everything was fairly priced. The store was clean and well organised. The employee who helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful! Stop in and check Rocket Fizz out they have something for everyone and every age!
