Saint Gabriel is a non-profit organization. Our goal is to find forever homes with responsible people who will treat the kitties as part of their family. Our mission is to reduce the number of domestic cats that are abandoned, euthanized, or placed in local kill shelters, and to educate our community on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.
History
Established in 2007.
Saint Gabriel has a new facility on the outskirts of Las Vegas. They have an enclosed outdoor area so the cats can get fresh air, sun themselves, and watch the birds. They are able to go inside to a sanitary area for food, water, and shelter.
We had a special donor who provided food for the cats in our previous shelter, and for the cats on the streets. He also provided litter, medicine, and paid all spay/neuter bills and all vet bills. He regretfully passed away in 2010. Since his death, it has been a struggle to keep all the cats on the streets fed especially with high gas prices, but thanks to some donations, we are managing to continue feeding the street cats. The cats at our shelter never miss a meal and are fed canned food daily.
Donations are desperately needed!
We go through five 16-pound bags of food a day
We go through five cases of canned food per week
We go through 12 bags of feline pine pellets per week
We go through $ 20 per day in gas to feed the street cats

What we do:
Feed feral and abandoned cats all over the city of Las Vegas 7 nights a week. 2 – 3 hrs. per night
Work with low cost veterinarians to get cats spayed and neutered. They either get released back into their colonies, go to temporary foster homes for recuperation, and if they are friendly they are made available for adoption
Host a shelter for cats on the outskirts of Las Vegas for special needs and unadoptable cats and kittens
Hold adoptions at Petsmart on Martin Luther King and Craig Road in the Home Depot shopping plaza
How we do it:
We have a team of dedicated volunteers who help at the shelter, and we always need volunteers at the adoption center at Petsmart
