Southwest Medical Associates at Nellis – Adult Medicine

I would give this five stars but I had some issues with my lab work orders getting from southwest to the quest labs .I ended up having to take thirty minutes to get that resolved. Everyone I encountered at this location was friendly and helpful !

Pros: Extremely friendly staff, short wait periods and knowledgeable team.
Cons: no delivery doctors for pediatric department. You are referred to local hospital I.E. st rose and they have midwives which aren’t legal for delivery in Nevada but still friendly helpful doctors. And they always sent you to other locations for ultrasounds or other medical procedures.

If I could give this place ZERO stars for this review, I would. All they care about is getting you to pay copay after copay after copay. Recently went through the horror of a miscarriage, and at one visit had the nurse not even bother to look through my file before asking, «How many weeks pregnant are you?» Continued having problems, had to have a DNC, my follow up appointment was scheduled THREE WEEKS out from what they classified as a «surgery», and when I showed up FIFTEEN minutes late they told me I would have to reschedule for TEN DAYS later because the doctor was leaving to go on VACATION. Well, enjoy your vacation Dr. Agusto, I will just keep having issues after issues and having your staff LIE to me about calling to confirm appointments.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Can never reach anyone worth reaching (the receptionists are worthless, completely worthless), can’t get a return phone call from the doctor, can’t get on with my life because they JUST. DON’T. CARE.
I went to school for medical reception. These kind of people are the reason I didn’t decide to stay in the field.

I am currently pregnant with my third child due October! My son and daughter, were both born in small towns in Wisconsin and small town friendliness exceeds city friendliness by FAR– so I was a little nervous about not being able to find a good-​natured doctor here in Las Vegas– as I have had some of the worst experiences! One of the reasons, I decided to move to Wisconsin with my husband, in the first place, was actually because of the lack of care I felt with my first doctor while pregnant with my eldest. When I found out I was pregnant, I searched and searched for a doctor right away. I read reviews– and they were no help whatsoever– if anything, they only stressed me out even more as each of them contradicted the next! Well, I had to see SOMEONE as I was feeling a bit awful and figured I’d schedule something in the same building my kids pediatrician is. What the heck, right? So I called Southwest and the first appointment available was with Dr. Pope and so I crossed my fingers, toes and eyes and hoped it’d go smoothly and everyone would be friendly.
When I arrived, I was greeted by the receptionist. She took down all my information, gave me some paperwork– the normal stuff. The nurse that took my weight and such was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. So far– everything was going well and even though I was a bit relieved– I was still so nervous about meeting my actual doctor.
Finally, I met Dr. Pope and was pleasantly surprised and relieved all at once. She treated me like a human being and not just a number, was very friendly, answered all of my questions, but most importantly made me feel very comfortable. At times I feel like I am capable of asking some of the DUMBEST questions ever, all due to nerves– I can’t help it, and she answers them with no problem and never makes me feel like she’s in a hurry. I can tell Dr. Pope LOVES what she does for a living and that is HUGE to me! Needless to say, she’s amazing. My husband even likes her and that doesn’t come so easy :)

On my first visit, I only have good things to say. It appeared as though fast care was closed for that day, but the security officer at the front desk told me that the sign stating the closure was there in error, and gave me directions where to go. Phew. They were open.
Chad at the check in desk was five star friendly all the way. The obligatory paperwork a side, check in went smoothly and quickly.
Once in the treatment room, nurse Maria was five star friendly, as well. Quick and efficient.
After a brief wait, Dr. Young gave me the diagnosis I expected and explained in detail, with the patience to answer my questions, exactly what was needed for me to cure my problem.
In and out in about an hour. First time visit. I couldn’t be more pleased.
