Spa & Salon Monte Carlo

An introvert looking for quiet on the Las Vegas strip can feel like Remy the Rat trying to escape Gusteau’s kitchen. With the exception of the rooms, the spa at Monte Carlo is the only place to get some solitude that isn’t blasting Fetty Wap. When you’re surrounded by loud, bright, hot spaces, the option of something cool, quiet, and enclosed is a wonderful safe haven. The lights are low, the options varied, and the only sound comes from the hot tub jet streams. It’s a very small and narrow space so if you get claustrophobic, something to keep in mind. After taking a spill in my heels the night before, a foot and leg massage from was just what I needed. A spa normally means the backroom at the nail salon where you get waxed or massaged by someone figuring it out as they go. This is the real thing and it’s so relaxing.
The staff were so sweet and thoughtful as they showed me around the facility, from the hot tub to cool bath, wet and dry saunas, and massage rooms. Everything was clean and quiet. There was lemon infused water and fruit juice in the waiting room, robes and towels were comfy, and this is definitely a spot to revisit. It’d be nice if the quiet time was enforced since some later arrivals brought animated conversation with them that was a little grating on the nerves. If you go during off-​peak hours, you’ll get the rest you need.

Nicole at the front desk was AMAZING — she greated us immediately and was sweet and helpful when calling to book the appointment earlier in the week.
The staff at the spa area was helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed the walk around tour to aclimate ourselves to the facility. I loved the sauna, except that it was very cold at 830am but seemed to warm up as the day progressed. The steam room is excellent, just wish there was aromatherapy to go with it :)
The showers are nice but dirty and the sinks seemed to always be full of hair :/​
There were no light snacks except for the cucumbers for your eyes that were way too big for the eyes so I ate them. Zero shame :)
The choice of water or the punch was amazing and I am glad the water was infused and not bland.
The changing area is small and the benches to sit on are small and you’re sharing this one bench with about 5 women so that was a pain in itsself because half the women in there were selfish and wouldn’t move their belongings.
If I could give the Salon side of things one star, I would… We were trying to change into clothes for our pedicures (my friend and I) and were told we had time until we were trying to hand in our keys and robes etc so we wouldn’t be charged and a russian woman comes barking at us «YOU ARE LATE WE NEED TO GO NOW!» Which in reality we were maybe 5 minutes late for our appointment.
The pedicure area looked like a cheap, asian salon that you’d see every where else in the world… It smelled, the selection of polish was awful and old and the seats were old and disgusting… There was dust everywhere and the woman CUT ME on my cuticles… She didn’t even say sorry, acted as if I did something wrong. Then she had me soak my feet in COLD water… I paid $ 99 for a crappy half assed foot massage that lasted 2 minutes and was while she was using RUBBER gloves (OUCH) and two kinds of scrubs that looked cheap and a crappy «mask» — I was thoroughly disappointed… I have had better pedicures for $ 25 and paying for this crap (literally thats what it was) was not worth the money… She didn’t even get my ingrown toenails our NOR did she smooth the bottom of my feet. I had to go home and use my pumice stone to get my feet smooth…
Overall the Spa is amazing and the staff there was wonderful and helpful and I highly recommend Flower for facials — but do NOT go to the Salon whatever you do…

Spent a couple of hours here one morning.
Locker area: It was clean, lockers large, showers nice, with good separation so your towel and robe don’t get wet. They had a couple of little stools in a sit down vanity area for 2.
Lacking on the vanity side. Did not have any extras like shower caps, razors, tampons/​pads, bobby-​pins, etc. not even a sign saying they carry them and have to be asked for.
Snacks: I am an early bird — I was first one in — there was only punch and bottled water, no fruit etc. later when I left at 1030, fruit had been placed out.
Hot tub was run down and a bit of a safety hazard getting in and out. There is an exposed metal pipe right where you get in and out and someone could easily trip
Cold plunge was very difficult to get in and out of. Just regular chairs in the hot tub area.
No loungers ANYWHERE. Due to severe spinal problems I need to recline frequently. Not a one in sight. And their Quiet Room was right next to the hot tub area and the people in the hot tub were LOUD. So much for trying to catch a nap or quiet the mind.
Overall, it would do in a pinch and honestly the staff make this place. Very welcoming and helpful. This spa was obviously built when getting away to the spa was not as common as it is now. It does need some serious upgrades.
Also a complaint: we pay a resort fee: it’s mandatory. Yet, it doesn’t include a hot tub, steam and sauna? Ridiculous! Especially for one as small and basic as the Monte’s is. This should be part of your stay at a hotel if a resort fee is incurred.

Quiet Room/​Lounge: Yes, seating for 6 (3 chairs and 1 couch) in a dimly lit room. TV on ESPN with volume off but subtitles on. Apples, fruit cocktail and lemon infused water available.
Overall Impression: Very average Vegas hotel spa in both size and amenities. One annoyance was with the hot jacuzzi tub. When I turned on the jets, a rediculous amount of foam was generated. I feel like I was taking a bubble bath, but not in a good way. I’ve never experienced that before, and have no idea what was causing it.
The wet/​steam sauna had a Cold rinse shower inside. However, it was not working on my visit. Despite my best efforts, the faucet would not budge.
One final note, Gym access is through the spa, not outside like most hotels. The steady stream of non spa attendees got slightly annoying.

I got a gel manicure here. It was by far the worst manicure I have ever received. Not only was it $ 85.00!!! It was a total of 25 min. No massage after. She barely cut my cuticles, the gel is lumpy and it’s been 5 days since I’ve received the mani. I expected sooo much more from a resort on the strip. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!! Go to one of the Asian spots up the street for 30.00 and it’ll be way better!!!

Fitness Center review: Adequate, but they close early.
You walk through the spa to get to the fitness center. Ir is a little small but has several pieces of cardio equipment, weight machines, and a well-​equipped wall of free weights. It’s a step above most apartment complex gyms, but definitely underwhelming considering the mandatory $ 33 resort fee is supposed to cover it. And they close at 6pm, which is horrible (no after-​dinner cardio)!
Note that while the fitness center is free, access to the hot tub and lockers are considered part of the Spa and you’ll have to pay for access. The Spa did have lovely dim lighting.

Very nice! I’d love to give 4.5 stars if I could. Greeted promptly and given tour. Changed and waited in lounge. The pool jets were very loud and echoed in the whole area, which would be nice white noise for most but was too much for me. I was pulled into room right on time and enjoyed my 80 minute aromatherapy massage. I had a choice of 6 or 7 yummy oils to choose from, it was a tough call, but decided on their original blend. I have implants and mentioned I may need to adjust during the massage if I got uncomfortable. My therapist offered a rolled towel to lay under me to take off pressure from the implants. It worked perfect! He also raised up the donut so that it reached my face. Much needed and great massage. Will go back my next stay at Monte Carlo.

I was in Las Vegas for a conference and we started the week off with pedicures at the spa.
The pedicure was done well, the technician was very friendly, and it looked really good when it was done, but it felt more like a something I needed to get off my to-​do list, rather than being a very relaxing time at the spa. The technician and I watched Criminal Minds on TV while she did my toes.
I toured the spa area after, as a full spa pass was included in my pedicure. It was a nice place to kill some time and I was told that it is $ 15 to spend the day there if you don’t have it included in one of the spa services. For the price, that’s not a bad deal at all. They had a few nice areas with hot tubs and steam rooms, though it was very small.
I’m used to $ 60+ for day use at spas I frequent in Reno (without a treatment) But, this spa was not like the more expensive spas I’ve been to, $ 15 was a fair price to pay, I wouldn’t have paid much more. Although… since it was 111 degrees outside that day, I might have paid anything to relax indoors in cooler temps. As another Unilocaler said, it is not a destination spa, more of an efficiency, killing time while you are at this hotel spa. That being said, I would return, if I was staying at this hotel and had some extra time, especially for the price.

My fiancé gifted me a spa day here for a relaxing massage on ¹⁄₂₈ while we stayed here from 1÷27−1÷29. He only had me go so he could calm his nerves about proposing to me later that night haha. Anyways, the front desk and staff were very nice, helpful, and friendly. Definitely a plus when you walk in. Provided me slippers and locker which had a robe inside. Afterwards, waited in the sitting room for my therapist to show up.
I knew what I was getting myself into getting a massage inside a Casino, I’ve heard most were not pleasant. I didn’t want to believe it so I went without any negative thoughts. Was an older gentlemen. He didn’t do a very good job of greeting me. I recently graduated from massage therapy school in Nov 2014 and thought that wasn’t professional. For a relaxing massage, it wasn’t very relaxing at all. I was doing more analyzing his strokes then relaxing. Some of the techniques he used on me actually hurt, and that doesn’t happen rarely or never. So I cringed every time he did it and went over it 3 – 4 times. I wanted my neck and shoulders worked on, he barely touched them and ignored my request. Overall, it was pretty bad… There were some things I did like, which I don’t remember unfortunately, because the most I do remember were horrible. =X I wish they didn’t have to add the 20% gratuity to the bill because he seriously didn’t deserve that much…
What kept this from going down 1 – 2 stars was the amenities they offer. Sitting inside the sauna and jacuzzi made me forget about how horrible my massage was. They also have a small cold pool to cool off in. It’s very nice and serene as well. For any quiet time you want for yourself, this place has it written all over it. The sitting area is also nice, comfy chairs, has water, juice, and fruit for any snacking. They also have showers and they provide everything for you. This part was truly the best part! I’d definitely come back to have a spa day here! Not the massage though, thanks I’ll pass.

An unexpected pleasure. I decided to try out this place on a whim when I needed to kill some time and I will definitely pop in again. $ 10 for a day pass if you are staying here, $ 22 if not — great bargain compared to a lot of the other spas on the strip. This spa was recently remodeled and everything is pretty new and clean… and unlike every single spa I’ve gone to on the Strip so far, THE TEMPERATURES WERE CORRECT. GOLD STAR!
The steam room and sauna (170 degrees) were perfect. The whirlpool was acceptable, I would have been okay with a little hotter, but still good — it felt like maybe 100 – 102 ish. The cold pool is just cool, not icy (which is fine with me, but some prefer icy cold plunge pools). The spa can comfortably hold about 6 – 8 people, IMO, so it’s a little small. The décor and atmosphere is very spartan and dull. The amenities are minimal — just apples, oranges, and plain water in the lounge, some minimal low-​end body and bath stuff in the shower area. So that’s why not five stars. I liked that the air was cool and refreshing, not hot and muggy, so you could actually cool off between areas, and the robe was good material, it didn’t get sodden and unusable after getting damp. So, yeah, overall, very satisfied.

What a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting a top notch spa! Massage was GREAT thanks Andrew! If you don’t want to pay for a service you can always pay 10 bucks to use the gym and you can use the spa! Once you pay for a service or the gym you can come back until closing. So relaxing I didn’t want to leave!

I was nervous to try this spa because we stayed at the Monte Carlo and the hotel really needs an upgrade. My room was gross. But any way the spa was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised.
Staff was very friendly. Clean facilities. Has everything you need. The showers are nice private rooms. I got a signature facial and it felt amazing. Im 8 months preg and it took a while for me to get comfortable laying down but the therapist was very helpful offering extra pillows and moving the bed around for me. It ended up a very needed relaxing experience.
I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again but I would def recommend the spa

Had my nails done for my wedding. VERY overpriced and quality not the greatest either. Just went because we were staying at the Monte Carlo. Would not go back.

I had a deep tissue massage, which was incredibly painful around my neck and absolutely not deep on my back. I brought that up, but that didn’t change the strength.
The Spa, similar to the rest of the hotel, is aging and would benefit renovation. 18% gratuity was added without checking with me :/

Small spa compared to others on the trip, probably a bit pricey for Monte Carlo but my experience was amazing. Had a massage by Cesar, he did a great job working on my back and PHENOMINAL cranial massage!

The spa is pretty small and only has the very basics (e.g. one hot Jacuzzi). On the good side, for most of the Sunday afternoon, I was the only person in the spa!
The swedish massage was pretty good though and on the expensive side.

For the price, it is A-​OK. I usually go to Vegas once a year and try out a new spa on the Strip and for anyone who has been to a Vegas spa you know that generally it is a destination filled with amazing themes, calming sounds and relaxing little rooms. However, this time with our schedule I had little time on my hands and just decided to kill a couple hours in the Monte Carlos spa (where I was staying).
For my $ 20 resort fee I am required to pay daily I found that I do not actually get free entry into the spa — just the gym. OK. So for and additional $ 10 you can enter the spa and use the facilities. A small price, but really annoyed me since we are required to pay the resort fee. Anyways — enough with the whining — on with the review.
The facilities are really small compared to other spas on the strip. They have the standard fare — hot tub, cold tub, dry sauna, steam room and locker room/​dressing rooms, however be prepared for a very tiny area. The hot tub can only seat 10 (I am used to the big spas that have like 50 person ones). The cold pool is literally for a dip (says it seats 4, but I doubt if 2 ppl could get in there at once). The sauna and steam room actually are pretty good size and were sizzling the day I was there — almost too hot to take! The rest of the place is OK. It is clean and quiet. Heck, I didn’t see another person there my whole 2 hours!
Here are my major complaints: 1) there are no chaise lounges anywhere, there are just chairs — who wants to lounge in a chair? 2) There are no popular magazines, there are like industry mags (like info on how to run a spa). 3) If there was juice and fruit, I wasn’t offered it nor did I see it anywhere! I found the water in the sitting room. 4) They didn’t have a swim suit drier — which even the most basic gym has! I guess my point is, it isn’t a place that makes you want to stay. You get in and you get out.
To burn a couple hours for $ 10, this place was OK, but it is not a destination spa. It is a place to kill time.

The Gym was okay, not enough weights… kinda wierd to go check in at the front spa entrance. Nice cardio treadmills so you are not waiting for them.
The massage was decent price but all the other stuff was pretty expensive… like getting a men haircut for $ 50?
If u pay extra $ 5, you get to enjoy the cold pool, the spa, and the sauna. Once you pay the $ 5, you can use it as much as you want for that day.
The Men locker room is small but the showerhead pressure is nice.
Only reason, I use the spa was because I was staying at this Hotel and I needed to workout everyday. The Hotel also have a huge free pool outside for Free.
Overall the Hotel is great and my connection help us get front row tickets to the Jabbawockeez in Music and take pictures with them. If you are a friend on my Facebook, it is posted there. :)

I’ve never been to a spa before and while I admit the Bellagio’s looked grander, this one was rather nice. The ambiance is simple, but the showers are completely enclosed with the large shower heads that have adjustable pressure. They provide an assortment of hair care products for your convenience.
I had a stone massage with Cesar. Best money spent! I can’t recommend seeing Cesar enough. He applied the perfect amount of pressure to my back and shoulders and stretched out my legs and arms. I quickly discovered I had large knots in my chest I never knew about that he worked out. I felt so incredibly relaxed and would happily spend that money again for a massage by Cesar.
