Unfortunately his place is run on how to get the most profits and not what is in your best interest. They wouldn’t let me pick up my own Boston Heart blood work so I could have the data in fear I wouldn’t keep a follow up appointment. The problem is they pack their schedule so full my appointment is over one month out. Now the doctor uses this outdated information to recommend a bunch of house branded pills. Order the higher quality equivalents on Amazon and you will save a bundle from their absurd markups. I was an industrial engineer that dealt with chemical systems for many years and I can’t imagine using month old analysis for recommendations, why is this good enough for human bodies?
On top of it all, the doctor didn’t even give me anything that resembled a physical ever. I left wondering what I spent my money on. The doctor spent so little effort in understanding me, I question his ability to make sound recommendations. They prescribe here based on a formula and their profit and not on what is best for you. I also have to agree with the general rudeness felt by several other reviews. I’m looking for a new doctor and you should look elsewhere too.

I normally see Dr Barnes. I was going through some serious pain in my kidneys. They brought me in that same day and I was diagnosed with kidney stones. Within 1 hour, I had prescription pain management and was ready to take on the most pain I’ve ever gone through. Dr Barnes explained everything I’d go through.
I also really like the Boston Heart exam they do. It’s a detailed blood exam that covers not just a lipid panel, but a detail of the types of cholesterol, and other trace elements to look at overall health. I will be doing this on an annual basis.
The office is clean and neat. They take a total health approach and spend plenty of time explaining the details to you. I would recommend to family and friends.

My wife and I were referred to Sparks Family Medicine since our primary, Dr. Ng moved across town (FYI.Dr. Jeff Ng is AWESOME!). At first, they were very good and thorough for our physicals. They did a great job with getting us dialed in. I credit Dr. Fortson as he was my primary. He left the practice at the end of 2015. I was told that one of the other Doctors would become my primary physician, which I was willing to give a shot. That leads me to January 2016. My daughter is sick and I called them as they are a family practice with my wife and I as clients. They informed me that they cannot take any new patients until July. How can you not take the child of your existing patients? So I’m left trying to find care for certain members of my family? I understand not taking in new patients but excluding members of a family at a family practice seems like very poor business. When I asked, there was no explanation, just we can’t take any new patients. I informed them that they now have a couple openings as I would not retain them as a caregiver. They really didn’t seem to care that they were losing a couple patients. The «we don’t care about you» attitude was really strange especially for a caregiver. Good news is that I found Dr. Fortson who I thought was awesome and he is still on my side of town. It looks like I will be following him to his new practice.

I had my first appointment today with Dr. Carmen Barnes. I think she spent a total of 3 – 5 minutes today for a new patient visit and performed a very limited physical exam. There was no mention of my vital signs or coaching/​teaching of any kind. I am fairly young and healthy and she did NOTHING to make sure I stay this way. I am now on a hunt for another new primary care physician.

I’m not very impressed with the treatment you get from the front office girls specially the manager Carol she’s very rude doesn’t have any clue of how to treat people with kindness
And respect she is the reason why I give this place 1 star. Several times that I have been there she has treated me very poorly she makes the whole office look bad because no one should be treated the way she treats people. I’m amazed that Dr Amy Sparks has the kind of people working for her
With no good customer service.
I’m going to go somewhere else for my care.

I live in Aliante so to get to Sparks Family Medicine is about a 30 minute drive, but it is well worth it the nurses and other staff are professional courteous, and make you feel welcome. Dr Darryl Fortson was great he’s knowledgable funny and makes you feel at ease, I think I found a new doctor for my family. Thank you Sparks Family Medicine.

Waited over 45 minutes for our appointment (after showing up early) while watching friends of the staff get walk in service. Will never be back. Unprofessional and poor customer service.

There was only one person in this office that ever showed true customer service to me; her name is Carol.
I searched through several doctors, did all the research I could do and finally settled on Sparks Family Medical. I was excited and hopeful that finally I had the opportunity to be proactive in my health care now that I had teamed up with this office.
My very first appointment was scheduled the same day, by a nurse calling to tell me that they had a cancelation. I was called 30 minutes prior to the available appointment, I accepted the appointment and explained that I was in Henderson, 25 miles away and may be a few minutes late. I arrived 15 minutes late and was met by a women at the front desk. After I gave my name, she instantly began to push me away, exclaiming that I was too late for my appointment. I explained that I had notified the lady whom had called me that I would be late, given the short notice, and was told that a few minutes wouldn’t matter. After about 20 minutes of standing my ground I was told to have a seat and wait for the dr. 2 hours later I was finally seen.
My second appointment took 2 hours to be seen as well. I was fasting for some blood work. I checked in 20 mins early, an hour passed and I over heard them talking about me, saying I left… Ummm Noooo I’m still sitting here. So I go up and let them know I’m still sitting there, only to be forgotten about again. I was just there for blood work. That’s it. So after I remind them again, carol finally a says I’ll take you back and do it myself. Thank god!
Third appt… I go, things go normal, after explaining that I wasn’t exactly getting the answers I was originally looking for, they tell me that I need to do this specific test… Ok, where’s the test? I find out after leaving that I have to drive back — 25 miles — to pick it up, because no one thought to give to me at my last visit. Sooooo I drive all the way up there, the day after I spoke with the nurse and told her I’d be coming the following morning to get. I take the 40 minute drive there during my lunch break, only to find that they didn’t have the test in stock… And was given the lovely advice that I should have called first! Ummmm I did! So I leave frustrated, get half way back to work, only to have the front desk call me that they now have the tests. I explained I was on work time and that I couldn’t come back, and asked if they could please mail it to me. The front desk lady said sure, I’ll call you back with a tracking number… Surprise, I never got that number. A couple weeks go by and my nurse calls to check in on a prescription that was called in for me, that I should have had 3 weeks ago, and I bring up the test; she tells me she mailed it out herself and if worst comes to worst, she’ll drive it to me personally. Yesterday, another lady. Calls to confirm my appt for the following day and again I explain that I don’t have the test yet that is needed for the 45 minute drive and 3 hour Dr. appt that I’m about to show up to unprepared. She puts me on hold so long that I finally hang up. Later that day, I call back just to see if I can finally make sense of it all and/​or cancel my appt., only to be told by Nicole that they never mail out the test and that I will need to pay $ 134 for this test, the same test I spoke to all those other employees about and NO ONE EVER SAID ANYTHING! Needless to say, I cancels that future appt. and told them to shove it! I will find a better, more professional Dr. who knows how to communicate with their patients… And for the record NICOLE was very rude and had no compassion or understanding for what I had/​have dealt with.
Now it all makes sense… while I spent the many hours I did waiting in the waiting room, all the disgruntled people that came in griping about the lack of communication and disappointment they were experiencing. #GOSOMEWHEREELSE!

We were referred to Sparks Family Medicine for their practice as they specialize in natural healing while also being able to practice traditionally. We made a 9:00am appointment for my husband and was told to make sure to arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork. Understanding that doctors are busy and my husband also has a busy schedule with meetings all day, he arrived early and had already had all the paperwork filled out at home prior to going. Like most doctors offices here in Las Vegas, same routine and then the wait started. There was no other patient in the waiting area and two more showed up after my husband arrived. He waiting almost TWO HOURS and NEVER saw the doctor. No one bothered to come in and explain or apologize for the delay. My husband sat and started moving meetings around while he waited and waited. In the end, my husband ended up leaving, telling the front desk that he was leaving after waiting hours and frustrated that there was not even an explanation or ever seeing the doctor. Their response was, «oh, okay.» Still no apology, NOTHING. Days went by and no one from the offices called to check on what happened, NO COMMUNICATION!!! After several days, I phoned the offices to inquire about getting our co-​pay refunded. Giving them money always comes first! We will now wait to see when billing will get back to us.
Things happen, that’s understandable, but to have those kinds of business ethics along with a total lack of communication is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, they just don’t care.
Do yourself a favor and find someplace else.
