Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging

Worst service ever. Had to wait over 50 minutes for appointment. There is a check in then wait, document completion then wait again. Finally, you're taken into a room where you change then wait. Then, another document to complete that has no instructions; and the tech gives you a difficult time if you include historical information which the forms does not specify how to fill it out. The tech was the worst, her mannerism was unprofessional with an attempt to be condescending. I will never go there again.

In December the Dr thought My Mom had another Stroke. She had some of the same symptoms as before. He gave her a slip for Steinberg Diagnostic and I called to make an appointment. My Mother is on 4 liters of Oxygen ²⁴⁄₇. She can can no longer drive and needs to be assisted at all Dr. visits. My Mom is handicap and uses a wheelchair. Due to bad Heart Disease. I made the appointment since I was going to be the driver. The girl asked a couple of questions about the test. I wasn’t sure, the Dr did not mark it on the form. She said no worries they would get that info when they received the hard copy from the Drs office. She was going to be sedated. It would be a MRI and MRA of the head and brain. The soonest appointment was the beginning of January. My Mother has Medicare and a AARP as Secondary. We arrived on January 6^th at 9:30 for a 10:30 appointment. After waiting just a bit the lady called her up to the cubby and said she didn’t have any of the info needed with the paperwork. Doesn’t anybody go through the prior days patients to make sure all the paper needed has been received??? also to see if you have all the prior authorizations and orders correct? Rather than waiting until the patient is there. I could have made sure all the info was sent over prior or at least brought it with me. We waited long enough. The Girl at the counter (my fault for not getting her name) didn’t seem to care. She was on hold by My Moms Ordering Dr and so was My Mom. She was just Rude. As My Mom is sitting there the girl tells her she has to pay $ 160. For her copay today. My Mom says she is double covered. The Girl says you have to pay it or you can’t have your procedure done today. When I made the appointment the lady said nothing about payment to Me. And since My Mom is double covered we did she think there would be a copay. The check in girl calls the office manager over and tells her what’s going on. The lady Michelle says ya we can’t see you unless you pay. My Mom says I talked to the girl yesterday who verified my appointment and she didn’t say I needed to pay. Her deductable would probably already be meet cause she is on oxygen and they bill in the beginning of the month. She could of had my mom sign a note stating if Medicare and her secondary didn’t pay she would be responsible. All retired people get paid once a month from Medicare. My Mom had not got her monthly paycheck from Medicare yet.
She usually goes to Desert Radiology and she never gets asked for money. They usually say we will bill both and let you know if there is any balance. The Drs office uses Steinberg or we would have gone to Desert Radiology in the first place. My Mom was all upset. And I said lets go. This is ridiculous. I got My Mom in the car and went back inside to get the Office Manager name. The billing girl was talking with the office manager. And when I walked up to her, she claims that she talked to my mom the day before and told her she would have to pay. And said my mom said I have double coverage. My Mom said she never asked for $ 160 or she would have cancelled.
I asked them both why didn’t you call me ?? I left my number and I made the appointment. You People are checking My Mom for a possible stroke. Maybe she can’t remember. Thanks for worrying about the patient and letting us walk out the door. She went to Desert Radiology and they didn’t ask for a dime. I’ll never go there again.

On a visit in July for an Xray, the front office refused treatment unless I paid a co-​pay. I assured them there was no copay or deductible for this procedure with the Insurance Plan I had and welcomed them to verify that. They refused to even attempt to contact the Insurance Co. They left me in a situation to either pay them what was not due them, or not have the procedure. I reluctantly paid them, being assured that I would be refunded the co-​pay if what I advised them was true. Of course, they collected «in full» for the procedure from my insurance company, with no co-​pay ever being due from me.
Today, 4 months later, I still have no refund from Steinberg I have contacted them 3 times about the matter and now their accounting supervisor «Roseanne» advised I need to bring a letter «in person» to the Steinberg facility for a refund to be processed !!! If I owed them money this long they would probably be sending me to Collection!!!
In the past I have filed a poor review on this site about them and received the «boiler plate» response from «Jennifer D» the so-​called Business Manager. If Jennifer D. was really concerned about all these poor ratings from me and others she would be contacting Steinberg’s patients and correcting the issues. She knows who her unhappy customers are. Her responses are «window dressing» in a feeble attempt to claim she is trying to correct their poor office practices.
I sure hope they are better at imaging than they are at running the office !!!

I love this location. I’ve been here several times over the past couple years and I’ve always been treated with kindness and respect. They are very organized here as well!

I’ve been here a few times and as much as I hate MRI’s (Because of the loud noises) Everyone here is pretty nice. I’d recommend it.

This is my second visit in three months. Both times I was checked in promptly by a friendly lady that immediately sent me to registration. In under three minutes my name was called and I was processed quickly. Briefly sat down one more time and than my name was called for my Ultrasound appointment. This place acts like they value my time unlike my doctors office. Both visits were less than 45 minutes for the entire process. Thank you Steinberg Diagnostics!!!

My wife is 26 weeks pregnant (with our 2^nd) and was here on Thursday for an ultrasound when she passed out in the office. While they did come to help her get up NOBODY in the office thought to call her husband (or anyone for that matter) to come and make sure she got home ok. It wasn’t until she got home that I was told by my wife what happened. Are you not supposed to be «medical professionals» who are supposed to be concerned for the health and general well being of your patients? All they would tell her is that if your not feeling well you can always reschedule for later. Seriously, she just passed out and didn’t know where she was and all you cared about is your procedure and not that she was ok or would get home safe. I will be having a discussion with our Doctor about her choice to use this facility. If you have a choice please avoid this place at all costs. Someone could be seriously hurt or worse due to their lack of common spence or empathy.

Customer service and scheduling all bad! Make sure before you call that you have a degree in medical codes to explain to the front desk what you need done. All we needed was an ultra sound and she made my wife go back and forth 5 times before scheduling her. When she did finally schedule her they messed up the times along with it. Get organized guys! Also you might need to work on customer service it is a zero in my book! You front desk lady is the first person a customer meets and even judges ur business based upon that. Just a word of advice you might need to start looking for someone else!

I had an excellent experience here yesterday. The receptionist was very friendly. As soon as I finished my paperwork, I was taken to registration. I was called within 5 minutes, then right in to get changed for my MRI. The technician came to get me just as soon as I was ready. He was very nice. I had to have a contrast MRI. He had to give me an IV for that. I hate needles, but he was excellent. No pain at all. He was very kind during the procedure and afterward as well. I was dreading going in for this, but the staff was fantastic and it made all the difference!

I dread contacting all locations of SDMI when the time comes, but this location’s scheduling has been the worst. Last year my appointment time was changed 3 times without explanation or warning. I got there at 8:15 AM, they told me the appointment wasn’t until 9:15 AM, I came back at 9 and they said the appointment wasn’t until 10:15. It was odd. Managers got involved and tried to figure out my there was a miscommunication between the department who answers phones and the actual office and no resolution was ever found. I missed over 3.5 hours of work because of this.
This week (Monday) my oncologist faxed them a request for my PET/​CT to be scheduled and no one from SDMI called me all week. I called at 4:45 today (they close at 5 even though the website says 5:30) and they conveniently decided to close early today without warning.
Now I get to wait until Tuesday to *hope* someone returns my call to schedule a very important procedure.
I gave them two stars instead of one because everyone there has been so nice, but this company as a whole and their messy internal procedures earn a one star review.

Arrived for appointment on the appointed day at the appointed time.
The Receptionist stated that I did not have an appointment.
After looking in the computer system, she announced that the appointment was 1 week later than the scheduler said on the phone.
Because we had no way of knowing about the incorrect data entry, we have a conflict for that date.
If this was a one time event, it could be written off as a communication accident.
But, this is the second time this has happened and points to incompetence instead of an error.
It is very difficult to get prepared to go out so, I really don’t appreciate being treated so cavalierly.

Rude old lady at the front desk at 6pm. She will let you wait outside in the cold till she finish what she is doing before she opens the door (door locked after 5pm.) An old man, older than her was outside asking to be let in and when one of the patients say they can open it (really no big deal) she says NO. Okay I understand trust issues but not if the person in that outside door is 80 yrs old. It was cold today and raining. If that was my mum or pops outside id be pissed off, 3 stars is for the great lady that did my sons MRI :)

I’ve had good experiences at other Steinberg locations before.
I was less than thrilled at having to come here, because its SO far from where I live and work, but alas, it was one of the only places I could go for a specific test.
I arrived early this morning, an hour before my appointment time, and was called up right away.
I was moved from one waiting room, to another, where I was called up to pay, (which, by the way, it was more than the amount I was told on Friday. Thank goodness I brought extra money, or there would have been a problem.) and then to one last waiting room, where I was told to use the restroom.
They brought me back before my scheduled time, and started the test early.
Mitzi (I think that was her name) was absolutely awesome. She was friendly, personable, and she didn’t poke around while putting in the IV. It was relatively painless, for having an IV put in.
The test itself was easy and painless, but long… but I knew that and was prepared for it.
The only thing that could have made me more comfortable would have been another blanket, but I don’t know if it would have interfered with the imaging.
All in all, for imaging needs, I would still choose Steinberg over other options.

I have been to Steinberg Diagnostic medical imaging centers it was, if anything medical is possible, pleasant.

Very good service. Very helpful. My M.D. didn’t forward an order for an xray as they said they would. The staff (Maria) was very helpful. She called multiple times and got a verbal order to get it done. She could have easily said «sorry you need and order or we can’t do anything». She really went the extra mile.

My overall experience was a positive one.
First of all, this was my first time getting a CT scan. I was walking in unfamiliar territory and pretty nervous about the whole thing. The first thing I had to do was to go to this place a couple days before the appointment and pick up a kit which included 2 bottles of barium sulfate to drink prior to the scan. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. She took time to explain the written instructions that came with the kit and answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. So I went home feeling confident with what I had to do with the kit the hours prior to the scan.
On the day of the appointment, I still felt nervous but the staff was great. The lady up front was still polite and then the staff for the billing department impressed me. By the way, payment was due prior to any procedure. Let me explain why they impressed me. While I was waiting to get called to pay, I couldn’t help but notice that there was some kind of problem at the desk/​window next where I was sitting. Seemed like an insurance issue… from what it looked like, I was pretty sure this patient did not know the workings of how their insurance was going to pay. I surely don’t understand much about the inner workings of my insurance and would be at a loss if I were in his shoes. Well long story short, the employee that was helping this patient seemed to make several phone calls and was able to give the patient some instructions and steps to be approved for the procedure. I thought that was awesome! Way to help somebody out dude!
Then I was called to one of the windows and the person helping me was also really pleasant. She even sympathized with me for having taken the barium sulfate. This step was painless and now I’m one more step closer to the scan.
I waited for a little longer and then was called and escorted to a smaller waiting room. Still treading in unfamiliar territory the staff kept things light hearted and was very polite. Then I was escorted to the scanning room and everything was explained to me including how the machine would talk to me and what I would feel when the iodine was injected via I.V. The scan took about 5 minutes and I was done.
I’m glad to have come to this company for my CT scan. They must train their staff well because they did an excellent job. I’m grateful to the staff for making this experience better than what it could have been.

Well I was told by my dr that I had a appointment at 8 am well i get here and they lost the order and then they told me I was a a walk in. So now 3 hrs after the time I was told with no timeline in sight.

I have been to a lot of medical facilities in Las Vegas and Henderson and this place is tops! They have customer service down and the staff all seem to love their jobs. I would recommend!

I think I got lucky because I had barely any wait time. My check in time was 3:30p, I arrived about 5 – 10 minutes late. I was done with checkout by 3:52pm
Called back to the next person. By 3:58.
I agree there are an excessive amount of steps.
However, I was sitting in my car by 4:15pm

If only it were this quick and easy to get specialty appointments with Southwest Medical…
My Neurologist sent me to Steinberg Diagnostic for an MRI of my brain due to the ongoing headaches I’ve been having that we can’t seem to make go away or figure out the cause of.
It was easy to make an appointment. To my surprise, they had availability within a couple of weeks, unlike SWMA. I needed a Monday, so I scheduled something for the 1^st of October. The reservationist was helpful, although seemed a bit rushed and did place me on hold a couple of times. I hung up a little uncertain that I was actually confirmed for the date/​time I booked.
I was told to arrive a half hour early for my appointment time to fill out paperwork, which I did. The waiting room was very busy and there really wasn’t anywhere to sit. The receptionists seemed to be moving quickly, and I was done with my paperwork fast. I sat there and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, about 10 minutes after my appointment time was scheduled, I was called up. I gave my ID and insurance card, paid my copay (all of this took 20 seconds) and was told to take a seat again. Then, after a few minutes, I was called back to another waiting room and was told that there was more paperwork to fill out. As soon as I sat down, a technician came and sat with me to help me fill some stuff out. She aske me to take my watch off, but told me I could leave my Tiffany’s bracelet on, since it was sterling silver. We then went back to the room and she had me lay on the table and explained to me what would be going on. I’ve had an MRI before, so it was no big deal. She was very friendly, and the procedure lasted about 15 minutes.
Everyone was friendly and overall the process was pretty seamless. It was better than almost any experience I’ve had with my actual medical provider!

Quickly lost a star because the scheduler exaggerated the possible side effects of my HSG and gave me an anxiety attack for no reason! Lost another one for the complete lack of attention to detail the receptionist and person checking paperwork had with patients. Who designed such a wasteful patient check-​in process? It’s puzzling to me that you would need to speak to a half a dozen people at different times at separate stations in various parts of the building JUST to fill out series of repetitive forms to «check-​in» to your appointment??? I felt like a character in Super Mario Brothers, trying to get to the next level!
My girl at the «processing» check point showed little interest in her job and in fact never made eye contact, gee, «have a nice day to you too!» AND please lower the volume on all the waiting room televisions!!! I overheard the elderly people w/​trouble hearing, complain that it was too loud! When you don’t feel well you don’t want the tube on in full up Dolby THX sound!
Thank goodness that the parking is plentiful, building easy to find and the facility is clean! SD’s only saving grace is the knowledgable tech who assisted the Physician and thoroughly explained every aspect of the procedure in detail and was also very pleasant. I’d give the Doctor and Lab Tech 6 stars if I could for excellent bedside manner.
Let’s hope I don’t ever have to come back. Get organized, train your employees well and staff the place with people who care!
Save yourself the trip and avoid this location.
