Stratosphere Thrills

Erick was absolutely awesome and helpful in helping us get our ticket situation taken care of! He was great.

I visited the top of the stratosphere because I bought a pass to try three different attractions in Vegas. Although my pass said VIP/​Font of the line access I still had to wait in a really really long line to get my ticket to the attraction. The second line is the line they let me skip (and it was difficult to notify the staff that I had a VIP ticket because they have everything roped off :/​
Once I got to the elevator, a little anxiety kicked in because the elevator is so quick to go up 100+ floors! Everyone’s ears popped! After stepping out of the elevator the views were totally worth the wait! There are several places to sit and look out around Vegas and a upper deck which allows outdoor access. I believe there are three different rides on the stratosphere and I definitely didn’t ride any of them but those who did seemed to really enjoy the thrill! There are also a couple of bars and a gift shop at the top of you’d like a drink/​snack and souvenirs!
I just wish the staff were more organized and friendly.

Everything was ok it’s in the middle of places easy to find. but one thing they don’t tell u that when u book online they charge you $ 94.00 and the rooms are not the same when u go there and see that how suffocating it is when we walked in first thing I notice was the dirty bathroom second the sink was broken. when talk with the manager they apologized and when asked for room change they said there will me additional charges of $ 50.00 per night. So if any one wants to go there PLEASE THINK TWICE

The views of Vegas are amazing and well worth the $ 20 ticket. I stayed on the observation deck for over two hours just soaking in the lights. Drinks are not cheap, but if you come during off peak times, you usually get a drink coupon.

For a real thrill, try the Big Shot at least once on a trip to Vegas. Once may be enough for me! You are literally catapulted at lighting speed upward! A bit like freefall rides everywhere else, only you are already some 1000 ft. atop the Stratosphere as it is! The freefall drop back down wasn’t the most hair raising part of it to me, the feeling that you are literally going to fly out of your seat on the swift ride upwards is what got my equilibrium all shook up!
And while you’re up there, take a walk around the glassed-​in observation deck. Only, don’t make the same mistake I did of getting too close to the glass without watching your footing. There is a cement foot barrier at the base of the windows which caused me to trip and slam against the glass, looking directly down at the street below! Thank God for extremely thick glass!!! Not on the ride ticket…

I LOVED Big Shot. It’s pretty hard for me to give out 5 stars, but this ride alone (BIG SHOT) I would give a 5. It was thrilling enough to make you scream but not long enough to give you a heart attack. Insanity isn’t bad. It’s not scary. It was actually quite pleasant or should I say a cute little ride with a nice view of the city. Other ride was closed because it was windy. Great if you have you locals discount. You wont regret it.

They have military discount. I went with my husband. We did the unlimited rides. we went during the days and came back at night all for one decent price. It was great and I had a great time on the rides

Sky Jump at the stratosphere is the thrill of 4 seconds in Vegas. A must do for those who want to feel and see the Vegas experience. Had a great jump and although I probably will never do it again, I had so much fun, especially with the staff’s friendliness and ability to harness and spot check those preparing for the jump. The entire time, I felt safe, had a great experience, and will at least probably go back for the rides on top of the Stratosphere. Great place to go to if you feel like you need to be on top of the world, or in this case, Vegas.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting here, though I did not stay here for the hotel. The price is expensive if you just want to do one or two things, but once you add two rides to the admission price, it becomes quite reasonable. Also, drinks at the bar are reasonably priced as well!
The rides are quite good. I’m not a fan of a straight up and down ride, but everyone kept saying Big Shot was their favorite — even the elevator operator! So we did it, and it was surprisingly awesome! I was not impressed by Insanity — it started off super scary when you see nothing between you and the many stories of air before the floor, but then the spinning started to bring me to Barfsville. I didn’t try the Exscream. The lines for these rides were basically nonexistent. It’s hard to know where the entrance to these rides are, you have to ask people. We watched a few people do the free fall — looks very scary, but the operators look extremely professional and in charge. I think I would think about doing it next time (or not — it just seems to frightening!). The views from the stratosphere are great. those giant casinos look so small from so high!
When we were leaving we saw a HUGE line for checking in. If I were to stay here, I would not be happy about the long line.
YES. I would come again.

Out of the 3 rides available on the 109 story building, 1 was closed for maintenance. I went on the drop zone type one (except it’s like 1000ft in the air above Las Vegas) first and seriously wanted to get off and die … Absolutely regretted being on the ride lol. But it is by farrrrr the best ride I have ever been on hence 5 stars. I was so shook up I couldn’t go on the third ride! Either way I attached a photo so you can see my face (all the way to the right)

Als Hotelgast des Stratosphere Hotel konnten wir auch unbegrenzt die Aussichtsplattform des 350 Meter hohen Stratopshere Tower besuchen. Die Fahrstuhlfahrt war schon ein Erlebnis und die ca. 270 Meter wurden in 36 Sekunden überwunden.
Oben angekommen hat man einen fantastischen Blick auf Las Vegas und die angrenzenden Berge. Wem das zu wenig ist kann sich hier beim «Skyjump» 260 Meter in die Tiefe stürzen. Sehr interessant den Adrenalinjunkies kurz vor dem Sprung zuzusehen. Kurz vor dem Ende wird der Sturz von einer Seilwinde abgebremst. Wer schon Bungee Jumping gemacht hat, könnte vielleicht enttäuscht sein. Der Spaß kostet derzeit 119,99 $.
Wer noch mehr Adrenalinschub braucht, kann auf der darüber liegenden Plattform, wo sich früher eine kleine Achterbahn befand, den «Big Shot» ausprobieren. Hierbei können bis zu 16 Fahrgäste mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 72 km/​h in die Höhe katapultiert werden. Von oben geht es dann wieder nach anfänglicher Schwerelosigkeit im freien Fall nach unten.
Sehr spannend sah das zweite Fahrgeschäft «X-​Scream» aus. Hier können bis zu acht Fahrgäste in einem Achterbahnwagen über den Rand das Stratosphere Towers sich ins Nichts befördern lassen bevor das Fahrzeug abbremst. Mir wurde schon beim Zuschauen fast schlecht, wenn die Besucher von der Rampe in ihrem Fahrzeug hin und her geschleudert wurden.
Am gruseligsten fand ich das Karussell «Insanity», das wirklich nur was für wahnsinnige ist. Der Metallarm des Fahrgeschäftes, an dem die Sitze befestigt sind, dreht sich irgendwann Richtung Las Vegas Strip außerhalb des Towers und die Fahrgäste schweben im Kreis mit Blickrichtung Abgrund.
Die 3 Fahrgeschäfte können im Package für 36 $ gebucht werden. Für mich, der an Höhenangst leidet, war das Zuschauen schon eine Zumutung. Adrenalinjunkies kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten.

Phenomenal time. Explanation of all aspects of the jump are exceptional. The crew really cares, I could’ve used some better photos at night, however one step at a time! And that step is 855 feet straight down! Good times well worth the expense.

I didn’t stay here, but my friends and I went over for the rides. One ride was closed because of excessive winds. The other two rides (xtreme and something else) were pretty fun. You’ll be able to take lots of great pictures from up there. The lounge on the 107 floor smells really terrible though, so I’d advice you to take pictures from the higher floors.

AWESOME! It’s been like my dream to do these rides if I ever went to Vegas and this past weekend I was able to and it was amazing!
The rides for an all day pass for someone staying in the hotel was 36 $ for 2 people.
The lines weren’t long.
The only thing that pisses me off and doesn’t allow me to give it 5 stars is the fact that at the desk they said it’s ok to use the go pros and then once your up there they say no and are really anal about it even though mine was securely placed around my wrist.
But aside from that everything was awesome.

I am a Vegas local and this was my first time on these rides. I will say that all the rides were pretty cool nothing to extreme or scary.
The reason I am giving it 1 star is due to the customer service. By far one of the rudest and non-​caring bunch of degenerate workers you will ever come across. They care more about talking to their friends (co-​workers) than getting a long line moving faster. I asked a simple question and the employees response was so rude I had to snap back at him. I even put into words how rude these people are. I will never bring anyone to these rides ever again based on this one experience. They all hate their jobs and it shows.
Stay away and enjoy yourself somewhere where the employee actually enjoy working.

I feel about the Stratosphere Thrills the way I feel about Times Square, it is a 5 star destination solely for the fact that it exists.
We rode the rollercoaster-​y one that makes it feel like you’re about to drive off the tower. Was it a great ride in and of itself? heck no. Was it the first and only time I’ve ever had that opportunity to do something like that ON A TOWER?! Absolutely!
I did it with my sister in-​law who is afraid of heights, and it was an extremely memorable moment for her. For the 30 – 40 bucks or whatever it was, totally worth the shock and awe factor, and will be something we always remember doing. It’s a thing to do to say you did it. I’ve ridden a rollercoaster on top of a tower, have you? you get the point
Also the view up there is stunning! We’ve been up to the bar many times, but the experience of being in the open air a the top of the tower was incredible. One of my visiting family’s favorite parts of the trip!

I hated every second. Its completely over priced, the staff is overtly mean, and a sketchy casino on a sketchy street.
Save your money. Why spend $ 25 for one ride here where you’re not really welcome and the true thrill is just getting through the crack heads outside and the dark abandoned mall? Spend $ 14 for a great experience at New York New York or take in the stunning light show from the $ 20 zip line at Fremont Street.

It’s been a few years now, but I jumped off the Stratosphere with a few friends, and it was definitely memorable and fun. And — scary! There were grown men who rode to the top and got too scared to jump after looking out the window and down, so they changed their minds and rode the elevator back down.
When you check in, they give you shoes that cover your toes and have laces, if you’re wearing shoes that may come off. They also give you a jumpsuit to put on over your clothing, and you can put your belongings in a locker. After riding the elevator to the top, they take each person out one by one, and connect them to a cable. Then you walk OUT and to the very end of a diving board-​looking thing, where you can feel the wind blowing all around you, and you can see EVERYTHING around and below you.
And then you jump!
I got the video, hehe, I’d say it’s worth paying the extra to have it :)

Well, I didn’t do any of the rides but was there with my friends who did. It looked fun though, but I heard from them was Xtreme was ok, Insanity was better and the Tower ride at top was much better. All the rides are like a few minutes and they have a open area where you can see and take pictures.

My sister and I came in the evening, just in time to watch the sunset. The views were awesome. However, be warned, the rides are much scarier once you make it to the top. Hell, even the extra long elevator ride freaked me out!
I did conquer my fears and tried the «Big Shot». I thought it’d be much more intense, but it’s just like any other drop ride. It just comes with a great view. Also, its only about 30 seconds of fun for $ 15. I would’ve settled for the $ 20 elevator ride and stopped there.
I’d say give the Stratosphere a try, at least once, during your Vegas visits. It’s expensive for what it is, as everything is in Vegas, but it’s fun and is something different.

Ride the Big Shot, it’s amazing and super fun! line moves fast here too.
The other 2 rides just basically hang you or spin you over the edge, it’d be more fun if I had a greater fear of heights. also waiting for the other 2 in the hot sun is horrible, even when the line is seemingly short, it will take a long time because it can only hold 10 people per round.
If you are going in the daytime, don’t wear short shorts because the seats will burn you. also prepare to get sunburned waiting in line in the daytime. I would recommend going at night so you get a night view and don’t have to suffer in a hot line
