Summerlin Maids

The three star review on Unilocal is titled, «a-​ok,» and that is exactly what I think of when I hear Summerlin Maids. They are great for the price they charge, but don’t expect any kind of deep clean. It is $ 80 a visit with us, plus the $ 20 tip for both maids (they always come in pairs of two) I think it is quite the bargain. We have them come every two weeks and they dust, mop the floors, and clean the counters. The house is around 2,400sqft and it takes them about 2 ½ to 3 hrs.
They have broken multiple items, but have so far replaced the items when necessary. One of the items we fixed easily so no harm, no foul. Neither maid ever speaks great English, so it is hard to tell them what we want. I have been asking for the trim to be cleaned for weeks (I even called the office and asked them to tell our maids) with no success.
I like the service, they are nice and have so far fixed any mistakes or accidents that have been made. I am going to keep using them because I think it is worth what they charge, but if I paid any more than $ 100 a session with tip I would probably move on to another service. You get what you pay for — and with Summerlin Maids you get just enough.
P. S. Don’t even expect the landscaping, it is a joke. I don’t think the guy we have been assigned has EVER come by.

These people aren’t even affiliated with Summerlin & their service is awful. I had them clean my house twice. Both times the cleaning was sub par. The second time they came their vacuum cleaner didn’t even a belt because it smelled terrible & left my house smelling like burnt rubber.

Wish I would have read the reviews here before calling Summerlin maids. The worst job of cleaning I have ever seen. Will never use again and will tell anyone considering using them, dont waste your time or money.

We scheduled our first cleaning for Monday Oct 12 between 8 and 10AM. On Friday we got home to a message that was left on our phone at 1:30 PM stating that if we didn’t return the call within 1 hour they would consider that we cancelled. I was shocked. My husband called at 2:20 and got voice mail. He left a message that we did want the service. He called back again and left another message about an hour later. Our calls were not returned. Monday morning no one showed. Called again at 9 and again got voice mail. No one called back. So today we are cleaning our house in preparation of a large party we are hosting tomorrow. What a way to run a business!

Unilocal — fix this system so I can give ZERO stars, please.
I just had the most unbelievable experience with Summerlin Maids — and not in a good way. I had a cleaning scheduled from 7a — 9a. The maids arrived about 10 minutes late, which wasn’t a problem for me. This was the second time using this service and for the price, the few minutes didn’t bother me.
I asked them to start upstairs, and they did. I could hear them repeatedly taking phone calls, chit chatting with each other but I assumed work was being done. When they came downstairs to clean the kitchen, I went upstairs and noticed the dressers and nightstands had not been cleaned. I went downstairs to ask them if they dusted and one of them came upstairs and looked around and said, «No, just between things, just basic. We don’t have time to pick things up.» She even told me that THE COMPANY told them not to pick things up. Confused, I asked then, exactly what they mean by dusting and cleaning. She said they don’t have time to do that. Well, maybe a little less time spent on the phone would have given you the extra THREE minutes it takes to pick up things on the dresser.
Knowing that the two other ladies that came the first time did clean, PICK UP things to dust under and did a pretty good job — I called the customer service number to get clarification and also to ask why my credit card had been charged BEFORE the service was provided. And — why did they keep my card on file? That’s not legal because I never gave them permission to charge my card or to keep it on file. That’s a whole other conversation and I have left a message for the manager/​owner of this company. This practice is highly illegal.
Andrea, who handles the customer service, is a true gem. It would serve her to have some lessons in phone etiquette and how to win over a customer. She’s a challenge to deal with — to say the least. When explaining my concern with the cleaning crew, she proceeded to tell me she spoke to the ladies and they said that because I have a cat (true), my house is very dirty –a not true –but even if it was — AREN’T YOU A MAID SERVICE? ISN’T THAT WHY WE CALL YOU? And who says that to a CUSTOMER? I didn’t know I was supposed to clean my house before the maid arrived — yep, never got that memo. Now, I know. I guess I should clean my clothes before I drop them off at the laundry mat — and wash my car before I take it to the car wash.
WHAT EXACTLY AM I PAYING FOR?
After hearing these rude remarks from the customer service rep that were passed along from her maids, I told her to please ask them to leave. I went downstairs and told them they can go. One began to leave and the other one — get this — began talking back to me, raising her voice — IN MY HOME. Oh no — you have to go — and you have to go NOW.
NEVER AGAIN.
I could go on and on about this but I think you get the gist of things. Never ever. Summerlin — we deserve better. I hope you select your services wisely.

Yesterday was the first time I used Summerlin Maids. They exceeded my expectations. The team of two, Florestela and Johara were here for however long it took. The area I wanted cleaned is over 3000 square feet. They did not rush. Everything was immaculate and put in place when they left and the little extras they did were fantastic (I won’t tell or it will spoil the surprise). I would definitely recommend them. These ladies were very professional and easy to communicate with.

Living in Summerlin for the past three years, I’ve come to realize a few things. I’ve got high expectations, but I’m also a reasonable human being. Summerlin maids has been cleaning our home for some time now. I originally switched to them because of a conversation I had with a corporate cleaning professional. The women in the larger cleaning companies get paid crap. I use Summerlin maids because they are consistent, kind and do a good job. If I needed more or less of something I’d tell them and they’d do it. If I need to leave my home while they are there, I feel great knowing that I trust them (it’s the same two women every time!). They’re good with my crazy dog and they arrive on time consistently. Do they use a fancy vacuum? No. It works really well though. They’re good people, so you should be too.
As for the landscaping, for Christ’s sake, it’s a free benefit of using them. They blow out the leaves and pull the weeds and that’s good enough for me because I’m not expecting them to be a landscaping service. One would PAY FOR THAT. And the HOA hasn’t threatened to take me to lawn court since they started.
They’re good people. They’re consistent and they’re half of what you’d pay elsewhere.
Be a good human and support the hard work of other humans.

So… I got an ad in the mail and thought the concept sounded really cool. I told a few friends and neighbors about it and they were all on board. That is, until we looked on Unilocal and saw the terrible reviews. I even tried to cancel my cleaning/​landscaping appointment. I’m super glad I didn’t.
Let me start by saying that this a 2 hour job. C’mon people… There is no way that you can expect ANYONE to deep clean your entire house in 2 hours when it takes my other lady 8 hours alone. And several days to do it myself! (My two small kids don’t help the process) Anyways, these negative reviewers on here are expecting pretty high things. However, maybe I’m glad I saw the reviews. I knew I had to tell the maids to just focus on the deep cleaning and not making beds and picking up toys and such. I even told them not to vacuum. She looked at me like I was nuts. But I wanted the kitchen, bathrooms, windows, appliances and floors done. Seriously, they did a fantastic job! These girls (Erica and L… Crap, I forgot her name) were super friendly and crazy hard working. Both were sweating when they left with smiles on their faces.
I absolutely recommend them, especially if you wanted twice a month service. Deep cleaning on one and regular maintenance on the other. I can only afford the once a month but it was still 100% worth it for the job they did.
Landscaping was okay. But again… It was a «free» 15 minute service. What can you expect after a one time job when I haven’t kept up on anything? After some routine with this service… I think it will be great!

The WORST Service ever… HOA compliant are you serious? I had them come out to service my home and yard and I ended up with my home smelling like weed and a broken dishwasher. Please if you have children, pets, or anything that you might care about in your home DO NOT let them on your property you have been WARNED.

AKA Anthem Maids, AKA Green Vally Maids, AKA Rhodes Ranch Maids…
The cleaning job was ok, not a deep clean but I thought I could work with them and train them how I like things done. Dust bunnies and hair still in corners of floor, hand print on my kitchen cabinet, sides of mirror not touched, etc. all things I could correct if I used them again.
The problem was I found my bathroom drain broken and the gardeners did not pull any weeds.
I called management and I was talked to very disrespectfully, and unprofessionally. She told me that the maid said I was lying. No second chance for this company, and I’ll spread the word.
Later at night I noticed that my pain meds were no longer in the medicine cabinet. Hummm…

There Service is terrible! I payed for a Move out Clean and they did one of the worst jobs that I’ve ever seen. The kitchen cabinets were still dirty, the floor downstairs wasn’t even mopped. When I called them they proceeded to tell me that THE MAIDS said the House was clean. Because there was two different stories mine and the maids they had to send the inspector to check out the HOUSE!!! This went on all day I finally just cleaned the myself.

I wish there was a 0 stars, I would give it.
I have had Summerlin Maids come to my house 2 times. For $ 80 you get «2 hours» of cleaning. It is a very rushed job and is not a deep cleaning. They don’t have time for windows, shutters, cleaning fans, light fixtures, fronts of cabinets, baseboards, inside of fridge or oven, making beds neatly, etc. It is a basic cleaning of toilets, sinks, counters, floors, vacuum. There is no attention to detail at ALL. The first time I was quoted 2 ½ hours but when they arrived I was told they only had 2 hours. They finished in 1 hour and 30 min and wow I was impressed they could finish this quick, when looking at their work after I thought it was okay for a light cleaning and if you need something quick, cheap, and they came out on short notice. Now I know why, they book them every 2 hours so they can squeeze more customers in, quantity vs. quality. There are certain things that make a cleaning go beyond something I could do myself and this company misses that above and beyond attention to detail and care.
Let me comment on the landscaping, you are not told when they will come and if you are not home, good luck. They came to my house the first time and I was there. I told them what to do. I went to grab some water for them and when I went outside, my front yard looked exactly the same, they were gone, and it was clear they did nothing but maybe blow some leaves around. They did blow leaves around because I saw them do that when I went inside.
Now for the second time they came to my house I did decide to give them a second chance only because I needed someone right away and I knew they were available on short notice. The same ladies came this time. They began cleaning and again I got the rushed feeling. They stayed at my house for 1 hour and 20 min. When I questioned them because they were at the door asking for payment ready to go, they said well we can stay longer but acted like I was imposing. I did pay for the service and it was supposed to be 2 hours they said asked what else I want. I don’t see how 1 hour 20 min is anywhere near 2 hours. Anyway when they asked what they should do, I told them to clean my guest bathroom again because they missed many spots. When they left I saw they made my floor very wet, rugs soaked, and it was still dirty, and that told me they threw some water on the floor and did not scrub it like they should have.
In addition, they punctured my fiber glass shower enclosure in two spots. Unfortunately I did not notice this until weeks later since we did not use that bathroom at the time. I did think about calling, but was sure they would not take responsibility and so I never called. The more I told their story to family and friends, they encouraged me to call and say what happened. When I called to tell them, the person on the phone said she was not a supervisor and had to wait until one came in but she could take my message for them to call me. I gave her my info.
When the landscapers came (supposedly they came) I did not notice any changes. I would love to know what they did, because in my opinion nothing was done.
Today Armin (the «supervisor») called me and said he was a supervisor for Summerlin Maids. I told him the facts of what happened and in regards to the yard work he said
«We have GPS tracking on the vehicles the gardeners used and they spent 7 minutes at your house.» In my head: very interesting that you don’t trust them that you need GPS tracking and is 7 minutes an acceptable time to clean a yard? Well, I told him that is great that he recorded 7 minutes of them at my house however do we know if they got out of the car in that 7 minutes because every one of my plants that needed trimming were not touched. Everything was exactly the same as it was in the morning and in the late afternoon after they supposedly came to my house.
I asked to speak to the supervisor and he said he was the supervisor. He said you already spoke to the supervisor the day before (the receptionist who told me she isn’t a supervisor, she can just take a message. her? She was the supervisor) Then he said he is the highest I can talk to. Really so you own Summerlin Maids? He was beating around the bush and would not answer my question. I think it is shady when I can’t speak to someone above him. He claims nobody is above him but when I asked if he owned the company he continued to ignore me. Clearly if he did, he would say so. He claimed if I called a week ago he would have been able to help. Earlier in the conversation he said if I had called a couple days after it happened he could do something. His story changed.
Before writing this review I tried to contact a supervisor and have a conversation with him but he was not helping me, did not seem to care, and said he could not do anything. I want them to be aware of the type of people they hire to work for them and I think I have a right as a paying customer to get my opinion across.

I would not hire this company. They are cheap but they also don’t do a very good job. They do maid service and landscaping (some of the time) for $ 65. The maid service is rushed without attention to detail. They also don’t seem to use cleaning product since whenever we’d get home it never smells different. The «landscaping» is basically mow and edge any grass. Some of the things, which will undoubtedly happen to you too, are incredibly frustrating.
Let’s start with how they BREAK things and do not even leave a note:
— They broke the plastic mechanism in our trash can (at back which raises/​lowers lid w/​foot pedal movement)
— The guest bathroom shower head was snapped off at the plastic connector at the back where it meets the shower arm coming out of the wall. No note, they just left it in the tub. We found it a few days later.
Here’s what else:
— We are required to pick-​up and put away basically everything left out on any counters because it will reappear in completely random places
— The maids are too aggressive in their cleaning and frequently scratch our things:
— The paint on our dresser is now all scratched up
— One of the toilet seat tops is completely covered in scratches
— The stove beneath the burner covers now has tons of scratches
— They also do inconsiderate things like close the door to the room where our cats’ food, water, and litter is (this happened every time)
I contacted them about cancelling our service and to be reimbursed for the showerhead and that month’s service. They gave me the money for the showerhead but completely scoffed that reimbursement for the month’s fee. Here’s their response, it seems they put it to a vote and no one wanted to pay me back… like there would be any other outcome:
«Since we are part of a non-​profit organization (that is why we can come up with such low rates), and all the money residents pay go straight to all of the people involved in the organization and actually working. The ladies, the landscaper, the coordinator, management and administration provided a service and we all deserve to be compensated for it. We understand that ladies work was not to your satisfaction, but still they provided a service, and deserve payment. Ladies agreed to pay for the broken shower head but did not agree to reimburse the service cost and to work for free and neither did the rest of the staff.»
I contacted Summerlin HOA for help in resolving this but they said they have nothing to do with the HOA or Howard Hughes Corp and are using the Summerlin name in violation of copyright laws.
Not worth it. Do not recommend.

*update: I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint as well which just ‘closed without resolution’ as expected. In their last response they accused me of ‘blackmail’ trying to get a ‘free service’…still completely missing the point about expecting a certain quality of work. Summerlin Maids, if you’re reading this… I don’t really care about the $ 65, I just think you should hold your workers to a higher standard. It’s pretty simple.
Their BBB reply goes on to say I’m «behaving like a spoiled little girl having a tantrum because she didn’t get her way». I’m a boy but I’ll let it slide. I’m also accused of trying to ruin their reputation by leaving this review. You be the judge but in my opinion it is completely factual with specific examples annotated, it is not vindictive nor is it exaggerated. Summerlin Maids is ⁰⁄₃ on reviews currently… the people are speaking. Hmmm, maybe they ought to look at their service?
Nah, they’re just people throwing tantrums.
