This powerful figure has been with the Las Vegas community since 1999. She created Teazled, an LGBT focused greeting card company which, along with commercial displays in stores like Albertson’s, donates cards to help fund LGBT organizations. She is also the President of the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce of Nevada (GLCCNV) – a nonprofit business networking organization and the Nevada affiliate chamber for the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Newtown, Pennsylvania, Proto has been to every PRIDE parade since she and her wife came out; and their children have gone to every one with them. «We walk with our church to PRIDE every year and I love the authenticity,» she says.
