History

Established in 2006.

Pamela Jenkins left a great job as an executive assistant to Timothy Poster, chairman and CEO of the Golden Nugget casino, to pursue her own business with two colleagues. The idea came during a particularly slow day in the office after reading about a lady in San Francisco selling homemade cupcakes out of her car. With the rise of cupcake bake shops across the country, Jenkins knew the cupcake business would be a sure hit in the Las Vegas valley. The doors opened in January 2006 and in the first year of business The Cupcakery sold more than 275,000 cupcakes.

As owner of The Cupcakery™, Las Vegas’ première cupcake bakery, Jenkins has perfected the most nostalgic and favorite treat, the cupcake. With sophisticated flavors such as the Kir Royale and Chocolate Passion, the cupcake is no longer for children only.

Jenkins, who was born and raised in Jacksboro, Texas, studied in New York City, Spain, Argentina, and has traveled the globe. She is a total «foodie,» loving to visit the culinary establishments of Vegas. When Jenkins is not spending time creating new cupcake recipes, she spends time with her three dogs Josephine, Tora, and Calypso, riding horses and doing Bikram Yoga. Jenkins gets a kick out of being affectionately called «Cupcake» around town.

Jenkins hopes to open other boutique businesses, including a store for her own clothing designs which she currently sells to friends. Her future goal for The Cupcakery is to expand in both Las Vegas and nationwide.

These cupcakes are dangerous!!! Omg I love the red velvet ones. I work right by this place and have to keep myself from popping in because they are so addicting. Seriously the best cupcake place in town. Id love to order a cake from them one day too :) check them out

The high rating is for the delicious southern belle. That’s pretty much the only flavor I get here. The strawberry shortcake is pretty good, but sometimes the end product becomes dense. Other flavors are dry or just too regular to be paying such a high price for. But the southern belle is Def the thing to get. It’s not really a red velvet… it doesn’t really have that cocoa flavor so please don’t expect that. Kinda pricey for mediocre cupcakes. BUT I think it’s worth the price for the southern belle, haven’t found another cake that flavor anywhere. Call ahead and see if your flavor is available. They so run out. Passed few times the place smelled weird. They should fix that.

Second call ahead order that I have received wrong and not done on time. So therefore It is a pattern at this location. Chocolate, chocolate frosting, chocolate sprinkles. Not a complicated order. I get handed 24 mini cupcakes multi flavored. Now have to wait for them to be made. 52.00 for 24 cupcakes and I paid 78.00 for 24 regular. It did not take long for them to be made as it is in morning because they were just thrown together. For what you get its over priced and poor service. The reviews don’t lie even though I wanted to think different. 3.50 a cupcake please give to me a little service and put heart into your work.

My love got me some cupcakes for my birthday and they were so delicious. My favorite one was the pink coconut with cream cheese. The rest of the cupcakes were good too and i wish he just got me all pink coconut, they are to die for (lol) .

I ordered a cake for my God daughter’s Baptism and let me just say it was WORTH writing a review! Moi handled taking my order and executing the cake and I was extremely happy with the finished result (I will. try to post pics!)
I sent him pictures of what I wanted and it came out BEAUTIFUL… it was a BIG HIT! We didn’t want to cut it! They make beautiful cakes! (Not just cupcakes)
I will say tho once we did cut it… it was worth it ! Has sooo much delicious icing and MOIST red velvet… redest red velvet I’ve ever had too!
I recommend u guys ask for moi and give them. a, shot! Worth it trust me!

Just purchased cupcakes for my sisters birthday. They were shared amongst my sister, mom and fiancé and they were thoroughly enjoyed.
I checked in so I was able to use a 20% off coupon. This was helpful since they’re not the cheapest. Each cupcake is $ 3.50 and half-​a-​dozen is $ 19 and the dozen is $ 38 (so no sale for getting the dozen.) One way to save money is by getting the day old cupcakes which is assorted and sold as is for $ 15 for 9 cupcakes (best deal!)
As far as selection they’ve got it covered. They have your basics of vanilla and chocolate but each one has a different take on it. From breakfast, to strawberry shortcake and chocolate chip. They also have red velvet, lemon and lots off diff fruit flavors. Honestly, whatever you’re in the mood for I’m sure you’ll find it here.
Definitely recommend this place!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE… rom the staff to the presentation and especially the different flavored cupcakes. I even had my bday cake made here and it came out better than I expected. The decorator (s) took it to heart and made it perfect for me.

Wow never been treated like the scum of the earth. The girl didn’t greet us and when asking her a question she didn’t care to explain, she mumbled something & told us there were descriptions for everything. She came off as if she hated being there & that’s the last thing people want when spending 7 bucks for 2 cupcakes. I don’t mind spending money for things but it made me really consider walking out but I reminded myself she wasn’t the owner so I gladly spent my money. Thanks dirty blonde, your lack of professionalism is why I wont be returning.

I’ve been binge watching Cupcake Wars on Netflix and I had a craving so powerful that it overtook my body and drove me to the Cupcakery.
Went on Thursday 1−15−16 at about 5:15 PM and picked up 4 cupcakes for $ 14.00.
I bought the following cupcakes:

…-Southern Belle-…red velvet with cream cheese frosting. My husband inhaled this before I got a chance to try it. He said it was really good.

…-Bugsy-…Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Frosting was fluffy and not too sweet, cake was moist and dotted with pieces of carrot or raisins (not sure cuz’ I ate it too fast).

…-Tickle me pink– …white cake with pink buttercream frosting. Frosting is very sweet and neon pink and I felt slightly guilty for eating so much food coloring. If they would tone down the coloring a bit and make it look more natural it would be more appealing to me.

…-The Julius-​… chunky orange pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting. On their website this cupcake has orange and cream cheese frosting swirled on top but the one I got was just cream cheese frosting. Very moist cake but it is neon orange. Once again if they’d cut back on the food coloring it would be more appealing. I think children would love the colors, however.
I will not be back for $ 3.50 per cupcake and the slightly bad attitude I received from the gal at the front, but I think they are creative and their cupcakes are really tasty.

I always get excited walking into a bakery seeing all the deelishiousness (I am very aware I misspelled deliciousness =P) in their casing. It’s like Sugarland in the flesh!
I love the art of cupcakes that bakers put effort into. Comes out all purdy… all the flavors you read just sounds so tasty and inviting. Then being able to bite into a moist one just completes the senses that were being aroused longing for more.
Okay, long story short. I was disappointed. My cupcake was dry. =(Whyyyyy!!! I have such a love for cupcakes, but I didn’t love it here. Perhaps I came too late? Too early? Leftover cupcake that was fridged uncovered? I don’t know. But it didn’t leave me feeling euphoric.
Service wasn’t even great. I felt like I was interrupting the party behind the counter or something. Eeek. Anyway, I really wish I didn’t have a lousy experience. I’ve contemplated coming back but I always fear that one bad experience wasn’t just a fluke… and then I’d be mad at myself for knowingly wasting my money. I mean, a dry expensive cupcake+crappy service=drive on by. So sorry to have to put a crappy review. Maybe one day I’ll decide to try it out again just to have a 2nd opinion, maaaaaybeeeeeee.
Not even sure the reason behind my two stars. Maybe two stars for the excitement that turned anticlimatic.

The staff knows what is best (not good, because it’s all good!), so if you can’t decide, ask one of them and they won’t do you wrong =)

Bought a Groupon for one-​dozen mini cupcakes and thought I would try this place out. I’ve driven by it a million times, but never been in.
I did call first and order over the phone to make sure they would be ready. The guy I talked to on the phone was super nice and accommodating. I needed them fast, and they said that was no problem. I just told them to put in their favorites.
The ones I got were:

3 /​Lemon Crème
3 /​Southern Belle
3 /​Chocolate Passion
1 /​Kir Royale (regular sized cupake)
1 /​PB and chocolate
The mini cupcakes were beautiful looking. The cake was a bit too dense for my liking, it lacked flavor. It was a little hard to get down. A lot of icing as well! (Also thick in consistency) I would recommend asking your box to be labeled. I had no idea which was which when I brought these to the birthday girl.
However, the Kir Royale cupcake was AMAZING. I had purchased a large one worth of a birthday candle, and it did not disappoint!
The PB and chocolate one was not great. Cake was and frosting were too dense. Not overly peanut buttery either. This one could’ve been better.
Overall, very pleased with the service, turn around time, and visual wow factor of the cakes. I think they can improve on the density and flavors of both their cupcake and icing.

If you have a daughter or know anyone that likes princess-​y things (and cupcakes!) — you need to buy them cupcakes from here. The cupcakes look so pretty with all that glitter on top, any girl is going to love it!
I’ve been wanting to try Cupcakery for a while, and when I received that B1G1 coupon in the mail, I knew it was time. $ 3.50 seems to be the average price for cupcakes in Las Vegas, but it’s a little hard to wrap my head around paying that much for one cupcake… especially since I can’t eat just one! I could tear through a dozen cupcakes, but definitely think my body will hate me for it. The cupcakes were moist and delicious, with adequate frosting — not too much, not too little. I tried Red velvet and a chocolate cupcake.
Room for improvement:
+ to-​go packaging of cupcakes: my 2 cupcakes were placed in a small plastic box and when I got home, the frosting was smashed/​rubbed off on the container. As a customer transporting the items, I would appreciate smaller individual packaging for each cupcake or a box with a designated cut out for the cupcake to sit in. Not the end of the world, but this is something that can be improved upon.
+ lack of flavor variety: standard red velvet, chocolate, white cake… I want some unique/​different flavors that I can only go to Cupcakery for (I am a Crumbs fan and am sad they are no more)

Second location I’ve tried of the Cupcakery, customer service is still lacking.
I feel as if the service overshadows the cupcakes. I don’t ask for much except maybe a smile or simple greeting. Even when we left the store we said thank you but all we received in return was a blank stare. It’s a shame.
I bought a single cupcake of lemon berry. The lemon cake was good and not overpowering. The blueberry frosting also had a mild flavor that didn’t take anything away from the lemon. I enjoyed the cupcake but a little overpriced.
My visits are still tainted with the less than mediocre service. I hope they can address their employees so maybe they could have more returning customers.

We were headed into town for a friend’s birthday bash, and she wanted specialty cupcakes, not a regular cake, so after talking to a local friend we were pointed to The Cupcakery, as soon as we pulled in Vegas, The Cupcakery was our 1st stop!
The shop is very cute, just full of sugary happiness, after checking out what they had, we walked out with a couple dozen of the sweet goodies!
Ok now don’t judge me, I didn’t have them all at the same time, it was over a 3 ½ day period, maybe some for breakfast, a snack or just for fun, but let me tell you about the cupcakes I had!
1st off you can’t go to Vegas without thinking of Elvis, and for the month of January The Cupcakery has an Elvis inspired cupcake, it was called Trip to Graceland, it was a moist peanut butter cake topped with banana cream frosting rolled in Applewood BACON and drizzled with honey. OH SWEET JESUS! This cupcake was amazballs! Loved it!
Then there was Mocha Mocha, a rich chocolate cake topped with mocha buttercream frosting & a chocolate covered coffee bean, oh man this was delsih, before I knew it, it was gone.
Because I love coconut, I also tried Mound of Joy, it was a tropical sweet coconut cake with chocolate buttercream frosting loaded with shaved coconut & almonds, Oh My Heavens!!! Another great cupcake
Can you believe we still had some cupcakes left over, so on the ride home I went ahead and tried the Chocolate Freckles, this was another rich chocolate cake smothered with chocolate crunch cream cheese frosting, now I’m more of buttercream frosting kind of girl, but this cream cheese frosting was light, not heavy and another sweet hit!
We were not disappointed with The Cupcakery, such a great find in Las Vegas! If you haven’t been you should give them a try!
