The Lennox

the 3^rd star fell off this review right as I began to write it.
once upon a time, there was this apartment complex called the Lennox. It really is a nice place when it comes to the design, lighting and amenities. however I moved in to help finish a lease — come to find out that our pretty little box sized living quarters cost $ 1450. I’ll be straight up, it is not worth it at ALL. maybe $ 1100 – 1200 the most. my closet is smaller than a bathroom stall. they sent us a letter in December telling us that we would get a free month of rent and it would drop down to $ 1400 if we renewed by the end of the month. we didn’t renew. we got another letter a week ago saying if we renewed our lease, it would cost us $ 1600/​mo. wait, WHAT?! talk about inflation.
paper thin walls. paper thin floors. if i could make any suggestion for new tenants — choose the 4^th floor. I can never sleep like a normal person anymore without hearing the Riverdance team chasing around the elephant heards while running a vacuum into the walls upstairs from me. occasionally I think they play musical chairs since it sounds like they’re always sliding around and a 600lb roly poly usually hits the floor and a wall. or 3. didn’t know we had a zoo in this complex.
try not to get caught up with people yelling in the hallways or neighbors who live across from you that constantly scream at each other. I felt the power of christ when the one lady was yelling Bible verses at who I think was her mother.
the common area is definitely a great place to hang out especially when it starts to get warmer. fire pit and cabanas are great features. bring a flashlight to the grills if you plan on cooking after the sun goes down since it’s dark down there. the people in the office are nice, never ran into an issue with them. facilities guys are super helpful and friendly.
the space and ambience just aren’t worth the price. you can go down the street to Volare or even the Manhattan and get something just as nice and even more spacious for less the cost. lease countdown is almost over.

Like to hear your neighbors having sex like you’re in the same room with them? Like the smell of dog poop mixed with stinky trash and pot smoke in your hallway (and elevator)? Like the sound of people skateboarding down the halls and dogs barking at 1am and 2am during the week?
Then this place is for you!
Please, come take over my lease so that I can be free of this mistake!

Hi Lennox! I told you I would write a review eventually. Seeing these reviews so far, I am so glad I didn’t come here and found an amazing place nearby that I love.
I was going to move to Lennox from Chicago a year ago. It started off smooth at first, but then things got progressively nasty. For starters, Rachel, their manager (apparently), is ridiculously slow with everything. Taking over a week to give a simple response, thus making the entire process take almost a month. She’s lazy, she doesn’t remember a single thing, and knows nothing of managing. I often found myself repeating things multiple times. Most of the conversation never concluded with a resolution, but rather being told that they need to check and would call back. When being told they’d call back when they have an answer, I get nothing. It was just me calling back ALL… THE…TIME.
Here was when I ditched them — After being told I’d be called back (again) in regards to a deposit, they said they’ll call back in 15 min. I asked them if they can reduce a pet deposit, I have two cats and they are asking $ 300 each plus rent. I simply asked if we can reduce it down to just $ 300 instead of $ 600, since I will be giving them 6 months of rent UP FRONT. I figured that was a perfectly reasonable thing to ask. The woman was all excited, blah blah blah because this ridiculous process looked like it was finally coming to an end I’d have an apartment. So, I am waiting for my call back. 2 hours later, still nothing… so I call back, of course (because I really need a place soon and am done waiting for these clowns to do something). The woman who told me she’d call me in 15 minutes picks up. I tell her «Hi, it’s Henry calling.» Her response? «Okay, yeah?». I say, «Uh, you told me you’d call me back in 15 minutes about the pet deposit?». Phone clicks and transfers to someone else. Lol, WTF? At that point I was done with the place, but I waited for the sake of amusement. I get the ever reliable and pleasant Rachel! What did Rachel do? Well, nothing as usual. I had to remind her all over again why I am calling. She rejects my asking. So, I ask her what the total will be then and she BLOWS UP at me on the phone! All I asked her was what the total pet fee was with rent and all their other ridonculous additional fees they make you pay. She actually screamed at me with a price and then realized she made a mistake after I called her on her mistake. After her stuttering and screaming some more at me I knew that was it.
I guess that not only does she not know how to manage anything or understand customer service or even her own pricing, but it turns out she doesn’t know how to do basic math either, and I cannot have such a person taking my rent each month or just touching other peoples’ money in general. While she was still screaming like a chimp on fire, I interrupted her and told her that her customer service sucks, that I’ll be writing a review about this, and that I would never live at Lennox because of her. She responds «Well, if you still want to rent, let me know. I bursted out laughing when she said that and then hung up. That was the end.
Rachel, if you are still at The Lennox, please go away. You’re turning Lennox into a waste of land.

I CANNOT take the NOISE coming from all angles of my apartment! It’s absolutely ABSURB! Above and below, like WTF!!! Definitely OVER IT! I cannot wait until my lease is up.

There is more than meets the eye at the Lennox. I went for a visit and the look of this place, despite the location is very impressive. However you would’ve never known that looking from the outside. Very modern and the look rivals many high rises. It would’ve gotten more stars but the leasing agent in the front office wasn’t very friendly and I felt rushed, it kind of soured the experience a bit. But outside of her negativity, the property itself is new, modern and impressive views if you’re considering moving to this side of town.
