The Toy Box

Located in Downtown Summerlin, The Toy Box was very easy to find. It is actually located within a tenth of a mile of the MTO Café!
My friends and co-​workers know that I enjoy (a) collecting Star Wars (b) collecting Hot Toys and © collecting Funko Pops! I am a complete nerd/​dork/​«whatever you want to call it» when it comes to my toy collections! So, needless to say, I have been hearing about this place for quite a while!
(+) very extensive variety of toys, both current and vintage! It was packed in there! I saw many toys I hadn’t even seen or thought of since I was a kid in the 80’s! You could really just walk around here and window shop and have a lot of fun with that! But I am weak and and had to buy a little something!
(+) One of the few places in town that has Hot Toys! You will find them in the glass cases in the back corner! The details on these figures are amazing! Be warned though, they are not cheap!
(+) A massive variety of the Pop!‘s can be found here. It is ton of fun to just wander around and see what particular ones they have that you have been unable to find elsewhere! I think half of the fun in collecting these things is in the hunt! Just trying to locate that last missing piece to a set!
(+) Employees were so polite and friendly. The young lady that helped us get the Pop’s we were looking for was awesome! Plus the gentleman at the front (who I suspect may be the owner (?)) was also very nice and helpful.
The only thing I will say, as it pertains to most collectibles, is do your homework. Some items were better priced than online and at other stores and some things were not. Just do your homework and make an informed purchase!
Spoiler Alert: There is about a 100% chance that I will be back here! This is an awesome store and I can’t wait to come back for more!

Woohoo. As good as it gets!

If you don’t mind spending extra cash on toys you can find for cheaper else where, well there you have it. It’s an okay store just overpriced but it’s reasonable because of its location. Despite that, the workers here are very nice and helpful and this is the best part of this store.

Cool store as they have figures that are hard to get that you don’t see at other stores and have friendly staff. Cons are that the store is a mess and at times they have merchandise just shoved in their cases that you can’t see and prices are a little high but overall cool store.

CONS: I usually come to this store to check up on the Pop! figures and honestly this place overprices the most common pops and the place the price tag in the worst spot possible. As a Funko Pop! collector, most pops that have a sticker on the plastic portion of the box are difficult to remove and they leave marks on the box. This does not including stickers that state exclusive on them. If you buy pops from this place, you’re either desperate or don’t know where to get pops for a cheaper price. Also, I do check here frequently on their posters and when I do check on them, it’s like they never restock them. When you go through the other aisles they are really unorganized. There will be damaged products all the way at front, and the good products are under an entire stack of other toys. It’s like playing Jenga except you always knock the tower down.
PROS: Although their pops are overpriced, they do have a great collection on their wall. If I do need a Pop! I know exactly where to find it. Surprisingly their collection is pretty organized too. All disney pops are grouped together, DC universe pops are together etc. Another pro about this store is their displays. I love looking at their display cases and check out the statues and exclusive figures.

Actual real-​life toy stores are really hard to come by nowadays. When I was a kid, I always looked forward to going to my local KB Toys and browsing the aisles in all its chaos. The people of Summerlin are lucky enough to have this place conveniently located in Downtown Summerlin. The Toy Box fits the bill for toy fans of all ages — they have a great selection for those young in age and young at heart. Their prices are a bit higher than your big box retail stores, but there is a charm about the store and taking your kid (or husband) to buy something here after dinner or post ice-​cream. They also have a great deal for Unilocal Check Ins — 15% off one item per family, per day. They also play some type of old movie or TV show that can instantly take you back to a different time in your life. The store can be a bit of a mess and hectic at times, but we always enjoy a stroll in here when we’re in the area.
PRO TIP: Huge Funky POP! selection

I needed to do some last minute shopping on Christmas Eve and was in search of Pokemon toys for my kid brother. The Toy Box was like a shining beacon and proved to be the solution to my procrastination. Not only did I find Pokemon toys, but they were on sale for 25% off! We grabbed some Pokemon cards tucked away behind the counter for $ 3.99 as well. The prices at The Toy Box seem fairly comparable to any major retailer. Even better is that this store offers a 15% off check-​in offer!
Besides the trendy toy selection for kiddos, there was also an abundance of really cool collectibles and board games at The Toy Box. The Arnold Schwarzenegger and Predator action figures locked away in the glass cabinets were nifty, but packed a punch with the price tag of $ 200+. I enjoyed looking at their selection of Marvel toys, too. It’s safe to say The Toy Box offers something for your average kid AND the serious collector.
I was more than happy to spend my money here rather than say, Walmart or Toys «R» Us. Come support your local toy store and check out The Toy Box.
Unilocal 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #271

There are some hard to find toy figurines at this store that is decently priced. All of which are either locked behind glass or stacked high up on the shelves. If you have your heart set on a high ticketed item, you can try to negotiate the price down a bit with the owner. Doesn’t hurt to ask!

This is a really cool place. Geeky cool. In a small space, this place contains more than you’d imagine it could. There’s an assortment of lots of the popular toys and games in there, some cheaper things, and some fairly high-​end toys and collectibles. It’s easy to go in and get lost browsing for longer than you intended your visit to last.
Games: the selection of board games is incredible. Most of the popular ones are there, many contemporary games and variations on older originals, but also some of the old standards. There are also bunches of card games. If you already have all the games you want, there’s a good chance you’ll find expansion packs for them here.
Figures: It seems they have every POP figure in stock. There’s literally a whole wall of them! Across from that wall, the other side of the isle is a cool assortment of less expensive figures from a decent variety of movies and video games. In the back corner of the store you’ll find a case with high-​end collectible figures from various comic books, TV shows and movies. Along that same back wall, but closer to the register, there are also more high-​end figures sandwiched between the POPs and a decent assortment of LEGO sets. There are quite a few figures in the store that we only see online. Probably too custom or niche for the larger toy stores to carry, but Toy Box seems to have them.
Ships: If you’re a fan of classic Science Fiction, there are a reasonable number of ships (and other prop replicas) available. Look on top of the shelves in the middle of the store or you might miss them though.
Stuffed Animals: they have them. If you have a child who can’t resist them, you’ve been warned.
Other novelties: there are cases and shelves with all sorts of inexpensive toy figurines and characters, coffee mugs, toy swords and other implements from all current kid’s shows.
Because this isn’t your gigantic toy store, be ready to pay a little more for many of the items you come across, but remember, there’s quite a bit in here that you won’t find readily available at other toy stores. If you want to put your eyes and hands on some of these gems rather than depending on images posted on your favorite Internet shopping site, you need to swing by.
Now it’s time for you to go in and browse. Just give yourself more time than you think you’ll spend there, be prepared to walk out with something you didn’t intend to buy, then walk next door to CREAM and continue reliving your childhood with a hand-​made ice cream sandwich!
One recommendation: Toy Box, please set up customer WiFi. The cellular coverage seems to go from barely there to nonexistent once you walk through the door. I, for one, would be a happier customer when I have the ability to text pics of the cool stuff I see to my geek friends without waiting until I leave the store.

Expensive for sure but there is a lot of great items in here. If you don’t want to spend the dough don’t even walk in here. I’ve found a great selection of Melissa and Doug items for my little girl and she loves the blind bag items which they don’t seem to carry the cheaper ones anymore. It seems like most of the blind bag/​fashems are $ 8.99 and I’m not willing to spend that on my 3 year old who may or may not lose it. There is a huge selection of Funko figurines so if you love those get them! Overall, service isn’t bad. I’ve always had to look for someone to open the cabinet for me for the blind bag items but once we get that in our hands they check us out fairly quickly. My daughter loves coming here so every time we go to downtown summerlin we have to make a stop at the toy store.

First of all let me place a Disclosure in case you aren’t «Following me on Unilocal» I am a NERD! So I can get lost in these sort of shops for super long. This store is a speciality toy shop that carries a variety of things but it is mainly collectibles. I am a huge Funko Pop Vinyl Addict so that is the reason I stopped into the Toy Box. It is really a large space and they have a variety of items to choose from. If you’re a collector like I am of Pops this place is fun to check out and they have a huge selection but the prices are hiked up a bit because it’s more of a Mom & Pop style place .
I was greeted by Francisco when I walked in and he came to the Pop wall and asked if I needed any help. Since I prefer to «Hunt» alone it was super nice not to be bothered but also having a chance to talk Pops with him was fun …
I didn’t end up finding anything I HAD to have this time around but I do plan to come back.
I can’t give it five stars mainly because I don’t care for the price tag placement on most of their pops. However I do see myself stopping in here anytime I am in the area.

Seriously, WTF??? If you have a store in the heart of Las Vegas, right off the strip, why in the hell would you be closed on Sunday??? Gee I guess they are doing so good they don’t need customers during the weekend, oh well, I had a load of money to burn in there and it will just go someplace else.

THIS IS A VERY COOL STORE!!! We wanted some place with a different variety for my little girl’s 5^th birthday. This place had a huge selection for all ages (including the vast selection of collectibles for adult super geeks). I felt the prices were reasonable for a specialty store and the selection way better than your average Target toy section for the age group we were shopping for. Tons of cool games and plush toys too.
It definitely feel like this store is quickly outgrowing its space. Much of it felt disorganized and packed in. I hope they find the bigger space and add to their great selection. Toy stores like this are sorely missed among the landscape of homogenous big box stores that clutter the world.
Definitely worth checking out.

–it seems to have a little bit of everything with that said. The store is too small. Too many stacks of random toys laying around. Boxes are getting ruined and it seems unorganized at times. Aisles are thin. Not stroller friendly.

I cringe every time my kids ask me to take them in this store because it’s such a mess! There are constantly boxes on the floor and too much merchandise on the shelves, its actually hard to shop. This store is in need of some serious organization.

They’re not TOYS, they’re ACTION FIGURES!!1!1
This place mostly seems geared toward adults– sports, series, and franchise action figures and collectibles dominate the selection. The POP brand of miniature stylized figures in particular is a bit overwhelming. The small square boxes are stacked up the wall, and if a kid has been grabbing his favorites the selection can be a bit hard to pick through– Buffy characters in with Disney villains, princesses mixed in with Supernatural, etc.
Price range for the figures ranges from a reasonable $ 10 – 15 to other items going for $ 50+.
This is more a place I would look for a gift for a young adult than a child, but they do have puzzles, stuffed animals, and various games if you’re here to pick up a birthday present for the littles in your life.

Awesome toys. Great and friendly service. Bought what my daughter will be surprised. Not bad on the prices but aren’t toys now a days expensive?

This is probably the best toy store I’ve been — there is a large range of toys, however, it seems geared more toward adults and older children.
There are a lot of collectibles in locked cases and the best part, the huge wall of Funko Pop vinyl figures! These are adorable vinyl figures of popular television, movie, and real life characters that have been shrunk down and paired with disproportionally large heads. Prior to The Toy Box, I would purchase these vinyl figures on Amazon (if available). Although most of the prices are higher compared to Amazon, it’s nice to see them in person and there are many figures that are hard to find online. They seem to range in price depending on their popularity, but they start around $ 10.
They have a nice Unilocal check-​in offer of 15% off one item, so don’t forget to utilize it!

This is a cool little toy shop among many scattered around town. Not really your standard set up like Toys R Us, The Toy Box is sorta geared toward collectors, while at the same time offering board games, Legos, stuffed animals, and learning toys for children as well… kinda like a mash up between Rogue Toys and Kappa Toys.
Highly collectible items are inside the glass cases and tons of other action figures fill a few aisles. If you’re a fan of those POP! vinyl figures, they have an entire wall designated for them. Up front and high above, you can shell out the big bucks for a Star Wars Master Replicas Lightsaber, and even for you Christmas Story fans, they have the «Leg Lamp» which could be yours for $ 205!
Stop in here for a trip down your childhood memory lane! ALOHA!!!

The staff is very nice and always offering to open up the glass cases if you want to look at anything in there. Honestly, the prices vary but you can go anywhere from 10 – 15 $ up to a couple hundred for the limited edition collectables. This is a place for nerds, it has board games, collectable merchandise, and tons of random things I haven’t really seen anywhere else around town.
The name «toy box» may throw some people off if they are expecting more like a toys r us type store but this a completely different specialty toy shop. Some of the things they carry are: doctor who, Star Trek (old and new stuff), Star Wars, mine craft, pokemon, marvel, dc, and a whole ton of board games.
If you are looking for a toy store that sells the same generic crap, don’t go here. If, however, you’re looking for something you probably haven’t seen before then at least give this place a chance. If you’re a nerd and proud of it, you won’t be disappointed with this store!
