Village Meat & Wine

I come here only occasionally, mainly because it is very far from me. However, if I want the absolute best cut of meat possible, whether for grilling or smoking, or just some exotic cut, this is the only place I go. Always friendly service as well.

The owners are amazing and the store selection is impressive. I know nothing about wine, pairing, or meat but they were incredibly helpful and informative in answering all of my inane questions. I ended up getting two wines and a house made sausage for much better prices than I could have found at home in Salt Lake. All of them were delicious and I can’t wait to go back.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this place was right around the block from my house. I’ve passed it for years and am regretful I haven’t seen it until now. My household loves to cook and also loves meats. This place is small however their selection is vast. From meats and cheeses to wines and pastas, I feel the need to buy bare minimum from a regular grocery store now.

I’ve been a customer since 1979! Yes, that many years! And I can tell you the original and second owners were wonderful! The current owners make me never want to go back, mainly
the husband/​butcher. His condescending attitude and total lack of customer service is frustratng! His wife at least tries to be pleasant most days but, becomes down trodden and
I believe it’s from his negative energy. The last two times I came in and waited to see, and true to form, they never even said thank you or wished happy holidays! I’ve noticed if you are a customer in there with a good size order, he becomes friendlier. It’s really unfortunate, as we have come in for many years, and love their products. I would love to find the same quality in beef and chicken elsewhere. Even if more expensive, I would purchase elsewhere to be greeted and serviced by someone who is polite and cares!

I agree that the meat is good… But I also have to agree with some others on the male owner… It is one way… His way… he obviously skipped the customer service classes when he was growing up… He can be a real dick… Looking for other alternatives moving forward…

Great cuts of meat at very reasonable prices!

Great local owned shop. Real USDA Prime. Lots of yummy meats to choose from and cheeses.

Stopped by the store today for the 1^st time and was wowed by the selection and the helpfulness of the owners. This is the first of many future visits.

Love the variety of this place.
It was fun to walk around, looking at the freezers to see the interesting meat available for purchase.
Aisles are small but packed chock-​full of what seems like anything you could imagine. The staff were really friendly.
Tried a Jamaican cheese from Portland that I really dug and would absolutely purchase again.

This place is like a meat candy land! I have been buying ALL of my meats here for years. The prices are the same if not better than the grocery stores. They also have a store full of wines, seasonings, dry gourmet foods, cheeses, pasta, butter and lots of other amazing tasty items.

You can honestly taste the difference from the grocery store meats and meat market prime meats. Taste for yourself.

This is the best place to get your meat. Really anything you can think of and if you need something special, let them know. WE go here at least once a week so we can have a $ 200 steak dinner at home!

Butcher is very knowledgeable and helpful. Cuts of meat fantastic as well as other odds and ends. Do not recommend the stuffed pork however. Have pre-​ordered and bought in bulk. Highly recommend!

I went to Village Meat and Wine for the first time yesterday looking for rabbit. They were all so friendly and helpful! Love it! Will be going back.

The meat is 5 star but the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A 0 STAR! I went in to order my prime rib for Christmas, I did not know what to order so I talked to the man behind the counter, he definitely had an attitude but I didn’t think anything about it at the time. He showed me a 2 bone 7 lb roast. I said that sounds great, can I have it cut off the bone and seasoned which he proceeded to tell me about the seasoning. I picked it up Christmas Eve and it was 5 ½ lbs I was disappointed and should not have taken it but did. Christmas morning I unwrapped the meat and it was not seasoned. I was upset but made due, it was delicious with my own seasoning. My friend encouraged me to call and let them know so I did. I did not expect anything except maybe an apology, I did not get the reaction I was expecting. The lady who answered said let me look it up then she said it’s not written on the slip so you did not say seasoned. I said your telling me the customer I’m wrong? Then a man got on the phone and yell at me that he did 129 roast and he would have written on the slip if I had said seasoned. They hung up on me twice and said I will apologize to appease you but it is not our fault. Very disappointed that they are so unprofessional. I can not support that, I will not be back.

I absolutely love this place. I always go in here to get a two and a half pound beef tenderloin trimmed and tied. The proprietors are amazing and you never get a bad cut of meat. One day I will go in here and buy some wine because they have some very interesting wine.
I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone.

Warning: After you eat the meat at Village Meat & Wine, you might not want to eat or purchase meat anywhere else. You also might not like to eat red meat in restaurants that serve less than USDA Prime. Yes, shopping here might turn you into a meat snob. That is what has happened to my otherwise snob free spouse.
Beyond USDA Prime, you can also find wild boar, ostrich, game hens, fish and (in house made) sausage.

We LOVE Village Meat & Wine. Their food is so fresh and delicious! The cuts of meat are superb; the owners are delightful, so polite and kind. I give Village Meat & Wine a triple A+++++!

We went to the meat market on Saturday to check it out. Prior to my going there I read some reviews that the owners were not helpful and the prices were too high. I have to say that I am so very glad that I chose to try it out any way. The owners were there and were 100% helpful. I had a ton of questions and they spent time answering them all. You can tell that they are very experienced and love their place! We got some amazing 100% beef dogs and a huge aged rib eye. They were fantastic. The prices were great! It is nice to see a mom and pop shop in Vegas. If you have not been there try it out.

Like my Dad says «if you want a great meal, start with prime meat».
I have been buying my meat here for a long time. Their cuts are the best.
I also like that this is a small family business run by a Husband and wife.
They always have great suggestions. They are also very friendly.
My favorites:
1) Flat iron steak.
2) Filets (cut to my thickness) ** don’t forget to get Bernaise sauce.
3) Casino roast.
4) Range fed chicken (no preservatives!)
5) New Zealand venison back strap.
6) Baby back ribs.
7) Italian sausage (for spaghetti)

Who isn’t a fan of a local butcher shop that sells all sorts of USDA Prime cuts at a decent price? I got ribeye for around $ 16/​lb and bacon-​wrapped filet, for I think $ 30/​lb. They run specials all the time, but if you get there Saturday evening, they’re probably out.
There’s also a decent selection of wine, a smaller cooler of side items like twice-​baked potatoes and mushrooms, and a small shop of gourmet oils, etc. One star off because nothing is grass-​fed.
