Villas At Desert Pointe

TERRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. I’ve been renting in Las Vegas since 2007 and this is by far the worst apartment I’ve been in. Police frequent the premises. There are constantly homeless people digging through the dumpsters (just yesterday there were 3 different people within 30 minutes). People climb over the wall from the apartments next door and I’ve witnessed multiple drug trades that way as well. The grounds are outright disgusting; trash all over the place, people leave their rubbish in the halls and laundry rooms. There are broken fire extinguishers, exit signs, and fire pulls. The lights in the halls flicker, half the time they’re out. My apartment experiences power surges on a monthly basis. The hot water goes out when it’s windy or raining (the front office said the water heaters are on the ceiling of the buildings, so if it’s especially windy or raining the pilot is more prone to going out). This place has been managed by 3 different companies in the year I’ve been here, the managers now, Ismal and Farrah, are not any better. Homeless people and/​or drug addicts wander through the halls and break into empty apartments to squat. This happened in an apartment right across from mine and the people at the front office have not done anything about it for 3 days now. I can’t wait to get out of here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Like all the other reviews say, this place is beyond terrible. In 10 years of renting, this is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. In the past 10 months, the complex has been taken over by new management 3 different times, and each one has been even worse than the last. The lights in my apartment randomly turn off for hours, and there have been multiple power surges in the last few months which have DESTROYED over $ 600 worth of electronics including an Xbox, microwave and coffee maker. Half the time the water heaters go out so there is no hot water for days. There is only 2 washers per floor which have been broken for almost 3 months now. There is trash littering the hallways, and on once occasion there was human feces (already pictured on here by another reviewer). My mailbox has been broken into 2 times, and after 3 weeks of asking it to be replaced, I still have no mailbox. The management here is completely incompetent, and the corporate office (located in Compton) is ten times worse. These are just a SAMPLE of the issues I’ve had here. I can’t stress enough how disgusting this apartment complex is, DO NOT MOVE HERE!
*UPDATE*
As of 2÷25÷16, there are now homeless people living in the vacant apartment directly across from mine! The previous tenants were evicted 2 weeks ago, and management simple removed the locks so anyone is free to come and go as they please. Upon returning home from work today, I heard a dog growling from the apartment and when I looked in I noticed a giant pit bull. I called the the front office, and of course they said there is nothing hey could do today and they would try to take care of it tomorrow… THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! I was forced to call 311 and have a police officer and animal control come out, which I am currently waiting on. I have posted a video to show the stray pit bull in the vacant apartment.

DONT move to or even walk through Villas at Desert Point! The display unit is comfortable… reality…NOT even close! That’s how they conned me into signing for a year. I can’t even rent this SHIT HOLE out to the local homeless people let alone a normal person because it’s so bad.
They couldn’t even show me the apartment I was going to sign for until I took possession … I should have known when they said they couldn’t show me the apartment there was something wrong. The entire apartment complex is a dump and DANGEROUS!
I was told there would be 24hr security guard roaming… NOPE…security is scheduled to walk the enormous complex maybe 5 hours every other day.
The leasing guy at the time 6 months ago lied to my face about the type of occupants of the complex even after I observed and pointed out some strange behaviour, he said they were movers! They ended up being occupants…5 adults in a 2 bedroom.
Just look at the pictures I have posted… human shit and piss in the stairwells… that’s just the start. Thumping loud music at all hours… the office staff will not do anything, not even write up a complaint. They pretend to send a maintenance guy. Reported an apartment problem to the office… 6 weeks later a maintenance guy turned up randomly with no tools or the part requested to fix what was broken.
A lot of drug use and drug deals going on constantly.
Homeless people wandering in and out freely as the gate locks are either always broken or rocks jammed in the locks. Homeless people that wander through the broken gates break into the mail boxes also.
POLICE will not even turn up when called unless you have been shot or stabbed.

My brother and I have been complaining about bed bugs since October and they finally sent an exterminator last Monday. It will be another week before the apartment can be treated. Months of incredibly itchy bites every night.
Our dishwasher has been broken for the last 6 months and they never come to fix it, despite almost weekly complaints.
The hallways are always filthy. I have never lived in such a disgusting place. The fire doors stick when closed, so if there ever was a fire we would all die inside. They never clean the stairwells or doors and everything is absolutely disgusting. I can not wait to move out.
Update: someone stole a bunch of my clothing out of the washing machine. Between the thousands I’ve paid to try to deal with bed bugs and the money on stolen clothing, I haven’t saved any money living here. Do yourself a favor and move to a nicer neighborhood.

I’m moving out this week I’m so happy too. My new place has washer and dryer inside, I’ve had someone steal my whole load of laundry twice out of my dryer, this place is so ghetto and there’s homeless people that walk in freely doing God who knows what. I’ve requested to get my refrigerator fixed months ago now it’s already time to move out. The women in the office don’t even do their jobs right and will make this building sound like it’s worth moving to. NOT! Please don’t move here, i’d rather have roommates than have my own place here. Villas at piece of shit should be the name of this building I didn’t even want to put one star but I had no choice they wouldn’t even get rated a half a star from me.

Absolutely gross, I would rather live in a tent. I am so done with this trash hole. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I have too many stories to list, I won’t waste your time.

I would not recommend you to move into these apartment! The hot tub still hasn’t been fixed in 2 years that I have been living here! They front office is not knowledgeable and the Brenda manager has awful customer service skills! My windows were very old air did not stay in the apartment in the summer my electric bill tripled! The hallways were always gross and everything was so cheaply put together the counter tops peeled off and the tub had paint chip to the point it was probably dangerous to take a bath!

Moving into this apartment was a HUGE mistake. They honestly don’t care about their residents and more about attracting new clients and getting more $$$ into their pockets.
While signing papers they said that renovations will be made to the unit I was moving into. New carpet, kitchen cabinets, etc.
The day BEFORE moving in they had to change my apartment for a different one due to renovations still being made. They asked if I can wait til next week to move. What the f**k?! You gotta be sh*tting me. You’re asking me to pull money out of my pocket to find a hotel because of your poor time management? So I told them I’ll take the other unit.
Upon moving into the new unit NO renovations have been done like they said they were. There were baby cockroaches to adult hanging in the kitchen, bathroom, and closets. GREAT eggs have been hatched! I asked them to spray behind the stove and fridge and to seal the walls. They told me they couldn’t do that. Uh, why? This is YOUR problem NOT mine. I didn’t sign up to live with roaches. So I paid money out of MY pocket to hire an Orkin Man come and spray my home. Bathtub was another story. Cracks and holes all over. Baby roaches chilling inside of it. I spoked to them 3x about resurfacing they did NOT come by once. I sent pictures they promised to be there but did NOT. There’s also a weird smell in the hallways and inside my unit. One day when my gf and I were coming home the smell literally blew us away! She called 911 because we thought it was a gas leak. Fire department arrived and they said it was not a gas leak and the smell could be because the buildings are so old. GREAT.
There’s also a new girl working name Lizette who doesn’t know sh*t about the complex. It took her 25 mins to find my new unit. Idiot.
Assistant Manager Maria is OK. She seems nice but she’s the one continuing to make promises to me. Personally I’m just money to her.
This was my first time moving out on MY own. Sure rent is cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. I didn’t think it would be THIS bad. The outside of the apt looks decent but looks can be deceiving. I will definitely be moving out once my lease is over possibly breaking it THAT’S how bad it is.
Screw you Villas at Desert Pointe I will NEVER refer anyone to this apartment. You guys are a joke.

This place is filthy and the hallways smells and the biggest rip off ever after 9 months I was late on my rent for the first time they charge me $ 50 for first day and $ 25 second day to deliver the eviction letter it coat me $ 75 more for two days. And their new manager named Brenda is rude and very unprofessional she thinks she is the shit landing a management position. FYI Brenda we the tenants pays your fucking salary. Bitch

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. This place is horrible don’t waste your time. If you do don’t expect your deposit back cause they’ll find a way to screw you out of it and jack up your rent. Renovated buildings is total bs. These buildings are better off being torn down. Management are slum lords at their best! Brenda is a horrible person. Don’t fall for her fake façade! Scandalous people they all are !

The best advice I can give anyone is to STAY AWAY! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! One star is giving this place too much credit. There is a reason these apartments are so cheap. They ARE NOT safe nor clean. These apartments are a nightmare. The management are slum lords at best and half of the tenants are criminals. They are swarming with squatters and the homeless have free range. The complex is completely cockroach infested, I didn’t realize until I had moved in because they’re in the walls, it’s disgusting. They have gates and locked entrances that are ALWAYS broken. I couldn’t even get through 6 months without my apartment being burglarized. When my door was kicked in and my stuff was stolen, they had the nerve to say the renters insurance, that we are REQUIRED to have and have paid for every month, was cancelled several months prior and they NEVER gave us notice nor did they stop accepting our insurance payments. The management could care less about tenants safety, in fact refused to put a new door on our apartment until the doors came in from backorder… really? They wouldn’t take another door from an unoccupied apartment because they were more concerned about the squatters than our safety.
I cannot express my disgust with this place.

It’s officially been a little over 6 months and I can honestly say I HATE IT HERE.
I have had so many issues with this apartment it isn’t even funny. The first and most disgusting one is the fact that I am living with hundreds of other roommates who don’t pay rent — cockroaches. And I’m not the only one with this problem. My next-​door neighbor has roaches, everyone I’ve talked to in this building has roaches, and my mom in a completely different building yet in the same complex — also has roaches. They’re not coming from outside, they’re coming from INSIDE THE WALLS. It’s disgusting and I need to get my apartment sprayed every single week just to keep the population down a little bit, but they’ll always come back because they’re in places you can’t get to. What they need to do is tent the entire building but that’s too costly and they won’t do that.
My personal apartment hasn’t had a ridiculous amount of issues with the exception of the roaches, but this building has. It seems every week that something goes wrong — someone takes out the locks, they leave fire doors open ALL THE TIME (can people NOT read??), someone kicks in the walls, messes up the light fixtures, etc. The fire and even regular gate doors don’t have enough weight so they don’t close which leaves them open for anyone — even non-​residents to get in. Not cool.
As far as safety — omg. When we had an hour-​long blackout in the summer, there are no emergency lights in the stairwell. It was PITCH BLACK! One of my neighbors hurt themselves trying to walk down it in the dark! Also, the security lights have been coming on later and later making it more dangerous to walk in the complex. By 7:30 PM it’s so dark I can barely see my dog walking in front of me, I’m amazed I haven’t tripped and gotten hurt yet. Someone also kicked in the bottom of the stairwell by the fire door. What was inside? Black mold. I don’t need to be a scientist to know that whatever was growing in there was not safe, and they should have tested it before just putting up basic drywall — which also took them days to do. That stair area has major flooding issues when it rains so I’m not surprised. My boyfriend also snapped a photo of a random pool of blood in the hallway one night. REALLY?!
I’ve also had people try to break into my place on multiple occasions. I was home for all the ones I know of, god only knows how many times people have tried when I’m not there. Two nights were really bad and scary that I had to call the cops, the other times it seemed people were «checking» my door handle to see if it was open. Totally terrifying and I don’t want to live here anymore.
If I have just one piece of advice to anyone looking here: RUN!
