Steve Darnell is the master mind behind the madness created at Welder Up. Steve’s skill and creativity have caused a frenzy in the car world and people took notice. As a result, Welder Up and its wild rides are the basis for the television show «Vegas Rat Rods» now airing on the Discovery Channel. Welder Up is not your average car customization shop. Las Vegas, NV is the perfect location to inspire Steve to design the wildest rat rods known to man. The vehicles that leave our shop will blow your mind and exceed your expectations. Just give Steve a theme for your build and you will be amazed by his imagination, the creative materials, and details that bring your vision to life.

Steve has outdone himself with the concept, building, and design of the new Welder Up Showroom and Store. He has created the perfect setting to showcase his personal collection of Rat Rods as well as a few of the builds from Season 1 of Vegas Rat Rods. We invite you to step inside and experience for yourself a little taste of Steve’s world and the Rat Rod culture.

Welder Up is known for its wild rides, but Steve also has a passion for producing short films, music videos, and creative man-​interior designs. Most recently, he created the set design, costumes, props, and vehicles featured in the Five Finger Death Punch «House of the Rising Sun» music video. This opportunity provided him the perfect stage to put his talents to good use and show that his creativity has no boundaries.

Established in 2005.

Welder Up was created by Steve Darnell in Billings, MT. To take his business to the nest level, Steve relocated the business to his hometown, Las Vegas, NV in 2009.

Steve Darnell is a Las Vegas native, but spent much of his childhood in Montana. At an early age he discovered a natural talent for mechanics. That combined with a background in welding and steel fabrication, a love for vehicles, and an artistic vision, created the perfect storm, aka «Welder Up». The one of kind custom «Rat Rod» vehicles Steve is know for received a great deal of attention. Because of this, he was presented with the opportunity to feature his talents on the television show «Vegas Rat Rods» now airing on the Discovery Channel.

Steve Darnell’s custom vehicles have been featured in many national publications such as; Hot Rod Magazine, Diesel Power Magazine, Diesel World Magazine, Diesel Tech Magazine, Rat Rod Magazine, Rebel Rodz Magazine, Ol’ Skool Rodz Magazine, Mopar Magazine, Cruzin Magazine, Élan Magazine, and numerous newspaper and internet articles.
