Coccadotts Cake Shop

What a great place! I’m in Albany throwing a party for my best friend and ordered these cupcakes. The staff was very attentive to what she wanted specifically. Their service was good and the cupcakes were to die for. As soon as you walk In the store it draws you in.
It’s colorful and beautiful. The location is very convenient. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone I come to Albany I will order from here just because! Thank you for your great service and assisting with this party being the best.

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to order my daughter’s cake for her first birthday from Coccadotts given some of the less than stellar reviews on Unilocal BUT boy am I glad I did! It was seriously the best tasting and most incredibly moist (vanilla) cake I ever had! We chose the white chocolate mousse filling and buttercream frosting to top it off… both equally delicious! Given I only submitted my order for a 12 inches round cake two days prior to when I needed it I didn’t dare request any elaborate decorations so I went with a simple fondant bow and fondant dots to adorn the cake (admittedly I put that aside for me to eat-​I LOVE fondant). It looked absolutely adorable! I can’t wait for the next excuse… ummmm, I mean occasion to call on coccadotts once again!

went to pick up cake and cake wasnt even at location. had to wait as they forgot about it and also name was spelled wrong. staff was clueless. called to complain about it and was told they were busy and id get a call back. finally got a call back a few days after and was promised a gift card which i never received. if im paying top dollar for a cake this is not the way to treat your customers! seems like they got too big for their own good! people are better off going to a smaller bakery which cares about their customers!

Wasn’t overly impressed. The cupcakes were pretty decent but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. Not a huge assortment of variety but decent in a pinch. The carrot flavor was very good! Pina Colada was pretty decent. Frosting was not too sweet but almost spot on.

I am new to the area. I had been to the Clifton park location and thought the cupcakes were great. I found the location in Latham as a cake shop and went there on a Sunday. I needed to pick up two cakes to be served next day. Due to my work schedule, I would not have been able to pick up the cakes on Monday. I found out from the young girl even if I did order a cake mid afternoon, to be pick up on Monday morning it wouldn’t be ready till 9:30 at the Albany location.
The young girl who seemed the be running the shop didn’t seem very knowledgable about the products. I asked about what type of cakes they normally do, top sellers, what they currently had in stock, and if they needed to be refrigerated prior to being served. These seemed to be slightly difficult questions she gave vague and ambiguous answers. I asked about a flavor that I heard about from a coworker, she was like yeah we have that. She was however very knowledge about prices and cupcake flavors. She was friendly/​nice but seemed to need more training.
There was only about six cakes for sale in the store total. It was early afternoon in the store and it was opened for another couple of hours. For a cake shop, I was extremely surprises at the small quantity. If the Albany location had more options I would have been happy to go there. Additionally, after picking two of the six cakes left in the store, I was told that they could only write on the cakes using chocolate disks (they had two colors that didn’t match either cakes) writing on it with chocolate markers. I asked if they could write on it with icing and the girl told me they didn’t do that. They are a cake shop, u can’t write on a cake? How do they put icing on their cupcakes? After deciding, I would write on the cakes myself and paying… I was told that they were also out of bags to carry the cakes. I struggled to carry two large cakes and two cupcakes out to my car.
I think the cupcakes are wonderful, but I was extremely disappointed by the service and products at this location. I really hope they can rectify these complaints and can provide better customer service in the future because they have great products!

I recently special ordered a cake from Coccadotts for a baby shower. Our mommy-​to-​be loves Coccadots and insisted this is the bakery we used. She was right! The cake was beautiful, yummy, and a very appropriate price!
We wanted a very simple yellow cake with chocolate frosting and it was delicious. Not at all dry, very tasty. Coccadots does other amazing cake flavors (I have sampled a few cupcakes), so whatever your preference, they do a great job.
They took our very generic description of what we wanted the cake to look like and knocked it out of the park! Very cute!
For a small fee, they delivered to our party. This was wonderful — as we didn’t want to chance putting it in our own car and ruining it. The cake was delivered exactly on time and in pristine condition.

I stopped by the Coccadotts shop in the Newton Plaza for some «Pretty Little Cupcakes-​PLC» to indulge on. Several of my friends love those little Coccadotts cupcakes. From time to time, I’ll treat myself to some good cupcakes after my workouts and there are several cupcake shops near my home in NH including Crumbs Bake Shop (alright), Queen City Cupcakes, and Shabby Chic.
Coccadotts offers an impressive variety of nicely decorated frosted cupcakes (including seasonal options) as well as cakes, cookies and gift baskets. The shop is decorated with plenty of pink and red colors and they also had clearance Valentine’s Day merchandise on sale in the front area of the shop.
I decided to get a dozen «PLCs» to bring home and I was having a bit of difficulty choosing which cupcakes to choose since each selection looked all soooo good. They did run out of Strawberry Shortcake, Some of the cupcakes I chose included Sex In The City, Kahlua, Coconut, OMG!, Cherry Cordial, Cake Batter, Blackout, Luscious Lemon, AND THERE GOES MY DIET! A dozen of assorted cupcakes came out to $ 30 total. Each of the cupcakes was like a eating a small work of art. The cake texture had the right amount of moisture and softness and the buttercream frosting had a smooth light creamy texture and sweet flavors.
The cupcakes were small in size, but just enough to enjoy a «feel less guilty» sweet treat. The Cherry Cordial cupcake was one of my favorites! I’ll definitely be heading back to Coccadotts to try out some of the other cupcake choices offered here including the Watermelon and Red Velvet cupcakes.
