History

Established in 2011.

Since 2004, Gina Camaj’s hairstyling skills have landed her hair and makeup gigs at weddings, photo shoots, and television programs. At Gina Camaj Salon and Spa, she and her team of fellow stylists use a full line of Paul Mitchell products for haircare appointments that range from trims and highlights to keratin treatments and eyelash extensions. While Gina oversees salon operations, the salon’s co-​owner, Karli Richardson, supervises the facility’s spa. There, licensed aestheticians and massage therapists administer beautifying and relaxing treatments such as body scrubs, myofascial massages, and weight-​loss mud wraps, which slim physiques more effectively than daily alligator-​wrestling contests.

Gina Camaj, founder and owner of the salon, graduated in 2003 from Orlo School in Albany, after which she worked at Tullio Hair Studio as a stylist. Eventually she mastered men’s and women’s cuts and was trained in advanced color techniques. The next stop on Gina’s journey was at Jean Paul Salon, where her undeniable talent and radiant personality soon had her in the top five retail sales in the entire company. She built up a loyal client base and moved to a smaller salon in Colonie shortly after having her first child, working until the day before her daughter was born. This dedication to her craft earned her respect among her peers and clients, the latter of whom would come to call the results of Gina’s ingenious hair techniques «Gina Hair.» Her talent and reputation have made it possible for her to open Gina Camaj Salon, a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon (meaning all products and color used are exclusively Paul Mitchell.
