I really enjoy this place, it’s my number 1 place to go when I am craving food that reminds me of my mom’s!

I live pretty close by, so having this place open up a few months ago was the best thing that could have happened. Food tastes great, owners and staff are friendly, and seating is very comfy and neat. All I need to do is pick up a phone, order when we don’t wanna cook at home, and pick up in 15 min and voila! Tasty appetizers, delicious and mouth watering entrée’s and dessert. What more does one need?

Amazing find! We were traveling home from LA, my wife wanted Chai, so I searched for an Indian restaurant, this was the closest, so we headed here. We had the buffet, the food was great, the service was excellent. They make delicious fresh Naan for you with the buffet, and the gave us fresh chili when we asked.

This place is a gem in the Valley, and I’ve been to many Indian restaurants from Fresno to Modesto. This ranks as one of the best. The staff there have always been friendly and the food is authentic and tasty. One of my favorite Valley spots without a doubt

My family and I have become fans of Rasoi ever since we first had a meal here. We are very picky about Indian cuisine since we prefer home cooked meals. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. The owners are very sweet. The chicken biriyani, butter chicken, malai kofta, chilli paneer, and garlic naan are delicious. The meal usually comes with a thick raita. My daughter ordered the phirni and it was creamy, rich and tasted like heaven. I ordered lamb rogan josh for takeout for my husband one day and he ate it all without any comments. He is usually complains about over seasoning. This has become my favorite restaurant to go to for Indian food when I do not feel like cooking at home. I highly recommend it.

My husband and I came here a few weeks back. The food was excellent and authentic. We enjoyed talking with our waiter and when he noticed my food was a bit more spicy for me than I prefer, he offered to remake the food. They gave us extra rice to take home and were generous enough to provide dessert on house. We will absolutely be back! Per my husband, their food was better than most of the Indian places in Pleasanton! And the prices were appropriate for what you receive!

Good but i have had better. Flavors not as robust and bold as other Indian restaurants I’ve tried.

Smelled like heaven inside the place but for now, I’m probably gonna keep driving to Tandoori Nights in Stockton or stopping at Dhaba in Tracy on my way home from the bay. Placed an order to go. Desi folks have been hookin’ up this spot up with 5 stars so I had to give it a try. I liked the people that greeted me and waited on me, how they had the open kitchen and it seems like everything is cooked to order, right in front of you. Cool people and cool place; so far so good. But not that impressed with the food… Grilled Shrimp: a handful of shrimp in a big to-go box full of sliced onions. So much so that it was challenging to actually find shrimp. Paneer: tasty but salty. Asked for everything medium spicy and it was definitely medium heat but way too salty for me to really enjoy. Had to cut it with lots of rice. Rice: they hook it up on the rice, massive container full and asked me if that was enough or I wanted more before they packed up my bag. The thing was, initially I didn’t even want rice; I was hoping to substitute naan in place of the rice and wound up having order naan separately as an additional item. I guess in the long run that worked out bc of the salty paneer.

I came here for the Friday lunch buffet as this resurant has pretty decent Unilocal review. The food here is absolutely EXCELLENT. They offer different selections of curry dishes along with special bread. Service has been second to none on top of the delicious food itself. Last, the price is very competitive as well, $ 10 for all you can eat!!! Would definitely come back again!

I wish this place were closer to home! Gave it a try with my dad while I was in Lathrop for a visit, and the moment I walked in, I *knew* the food was going to be fantastic; this is quite simply the most fragrant Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited! The enticing aroma of fresh spices envelopes and intoxicates you, making the prospect of leaving empty-handed utterly unthinkable. I only wish we’d been dining in rather than getting takeout. I was somewhat confused by the menu since some of the things I’m used to ordering were not there and others had different names. Of course Indian cuisine does vary, so I assume that this stuff comes from a different region. Not all of the curries have sauce so if you like them saucy, like I do, be sure to specify. The veggie options were rather dairy-heavy but both the chef and the woman who took our orders were incredibly helpful and flexible. I ended up getting chana masala, a specially-made, not-on-the-menu vegetable korma with coconut milk instead of cream, naan, rice, and the usual chutneys. Luckily my dad’s place is just around the corner so everything was still hot and fresh by the time we got it home… and it did not disappoint! Both my curries came in large plastic cups filled to the brim, naan portions were generous, and there was more rice that we knew what to do with. The flavors were every bit as good as I’d expected them to be. The chana masala was ultra saucy with just the right amount of spice. There was an unusual component in the seasoning that at first threw me a little, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The korma might just have been the richest and creamiest(and downright best) I have ever had, and it was garnished with cashews and raisins which I always love. The rice was excellent as well; moist and sprinkled with anise seeds– good enough to be eaten on its own. It made not one meal, or even two, but three! Prices weren’t bad either– $ 9.50 for most veggie curries. Samosas are only $ 3.50 so I’ll definitely be trying those at some point. My only complaints are minor: There was paneer in my vegetable korma, and since I have a dairy sensitivity(hence the request for coconut milk instead of cream) I had to spend some time digging the pieces out, but I hadn’t specifically told them not to add it so this was more an oversight on my part. Also, the tamarind chutney contained some herb or spice that I’m not accustomed to, which admittedly wasn’t terrible, but I thought it could have done without. Overall, though, this was the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time! I’ll hopefully be back the next time I’m in Lathrop.

5 stars because i love there chicken kebab and my son is a fan of their chicken tekka masala. I love how fresh and juicy they serve your food. The restaurant is nice and neat looking. Location wise is awesome coz it’s just beside baskin robins. The Lady owner was so nice she gave me extra rice coz i was the last customer who did take out that day. Hope this place would stay long…

This is my very first experience with Indian food, so you may think this is will be a biased review, but I will disagree. I had a preconception of what indian food tastes and smells like; in essence, a prejudice. Having heard stories of bad experiences over the years, I was immediately set at ease when I walked in to a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Not much décor to speak of, but colorful and minimal. I could tell the experience is focused on the food. After being greeted by the gentleman, I sat down at the table with my brother and sister-in-law. Immediately, I was lost in the menu. There is so much variety, so I would be relying on the recommendations of the others. To drink, I tried the«mango lassi» for the first time. While it may sound foreign, it is actually a simple mango smoothie with yogurt and it is delicious. What first struck me about the drink is that it tastes«fresh», as if you were literally biting into a mango. The flavor expresses itself literally, but adds a creamy aftertaste. It is also very thick. I was a little worried I would not have enough of an appetite to finish the coming meal because the drink was so satisfying. Be warned, do not down the drink all at once. I opted to take small sips. I can’t remember the name of anything I ate until I return. I remember having an appetizer that was essentially two large crunchy things filled with what I could only describe as something with the consistency of mashed potatoes. I’m sure the ingredients are something totally different. The flavors were everywhere. Everything outside and inside had so many combinations of flavors. The sauces themselves were fascinating. There was tamarind sauce I was very happy to try(I’m a sucker for sweet things), and another sauce that tastes like the very definition of «green». Another appetizer we had was also really interesting. When I bit into this, the closest thing I could think of for a description is a cross between the cup of noodles chicken flavor and crisscut fry. The inside was completely different. Already, I can tell that indian food has so much depth. It is very hard to describe each flavor. For my main course, I was a little skeptical. I am not a fan of cottage cheese, but it was recommended for me from the vegetarian portion of the menu. Essentially, they prepare it in a way that it becomes like tofu. It is served in a sea of sauce and vegetables. The cottage cheese does not taste like it usually does. Instead these cheese cubes have a smoky flavor to them, in addition to the rich sauce it is smothered in. I later find out the sauce has a kick to it, but the lassi helped me cool things down. For dessert, we had this pudding-type thing. It was like tapioca pudding, but with a much more aromatic and delicate flavor and with nuts instead of tapioca. My brother, a baker, took note of the saffron they garnish the dessert with. I was totally unaware, but this is an expensive ingredient. It shows the restaurant’s dedication to small things we may take for granted. All in all, I don’t think I could have gone to a better place for a first experience with indian food. In fact, I’ve been so pleased that I couldn’t stop recommending it to friends in totally unrelated conversations. I’ll be back soon with my parents who have also never had indian before, just to see the look on their faces. My one concern is that I may have unwittingly become spoiled as far as indian food in the valley goes.

Tender chili chicken with spicy amazing flavor, the lamb rogan Josh was also tender, fresh pappadum. We also had the paneer butter tikka masala and loved it — the cheese cubes were grilled and placed in their butter tikka masala sauce — yummy, well balanced, flavorful. My friends(one of whom is from India) and I loved this place. The sauces are well prepared, balanced and tasty. People are friendly, easy to get to. We are coming back. And there were lots Indians eating here, so we’ll take that as a good sign. The chef trained at culinary school in Punjab and worked both there and in Italy. I forgot to add we had dessert, Phirni — loved the flavor, not too sweet and made with lots of cardamom. I love cardamom! Thank You for such a good food experience!

Yesterday my wife and I had the privilege of eating here. The waiter was very courteous and helpful. The food was AMAZING!!! We typically do not eat Indian food because there are not very many places in the Central Valley. I found the prices reasonable. The dining room was clean and upscale. We shared the butter chicken and the tandoori chicken. They were both incredible. Fresh. Delicious. I recommend this place to anyone!!! We have already made plans to go back.

Before I begin, I notice nothing but positive reviews so I will definitely give it a 2nd chance. But my review now is based on a take out order I made other day. 2 orders of chicken tikka: tasty and good. 1 order of garlic naan: naan was thinner than a normal naan but other than that it tasted good. 2 order of fish pakora: small quantity in each order and about a 1⁄3rd of the order was crumbs and just seasoning mixed together with no actual fish. Order also didn’t come with Any chutny or sauce which I didn’t notice till I got home 1 order of chilli chicken: not sure if they misheard the order or if this is the way they cook it here? But it was not chilli chicken, it was extra oily and water, tasted like soy sauce. And chicken pieces were too large. Normally pieces should be bite size but these were longer like chicken tender pieces. Lastly, it is too pricey for a location in lathrop. The prices are more consistent with a restaurant in San Francisco. Wanted to order some tandoori chicken but it costs $ 12 for 4 pieces. Thats $ 3 a piece of chicken! Wayyyy too expensive. My suggestion would be to lower prices so you can have more repeat customers.
