A Little Inn by the Sea

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE! The hotel is CLOSED. My husband and I made our reservations in October for a February stay. I made them directly with the hotel, i got a confirmation through email, it was set. We landed in Lauderdale the evening of the last Thursday of February, arrived at the hotel, it is CLOSED! No warning, they never sent an email, phone call, nothing! Fence up all around it, no notices, I’m sure soon it will be leveled. February in Southern Florida @ the beach, during the Food Network Festival, is not easy time to find a vacancy. We had to stay in one hotel for 2 nights and another for the next 3, very stressful. I wonder how many people this happened to, when I called in October they were booked until that last weekend in February. This hotel is still listed on travel websites, how can this happen?

nettes Hotel mit prima lage direkt am Strand. Ausreichender Süßwasserpool mit Liegestühlen. Hotel ist angenehm und nicht direkt im Zentrum. Alle lokalitäten sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Parkpklätze vor dem Haus kostenfrei.
Das Hotel passt zum prima Städtchen Lauderdale by the Sea.
Das alles ist schon eine Reise wert.

For us, the place was just right but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea (which is why there are two stars). It is definitely run-​down in terms of building upkeep and some of the kitchen features. But for the price — WOW. Right on the beach, very nice pool, walking distance to great bars and restaurants. It’s definitely the type of place for those who aren’t spending much time in their room because they are a little dour. But I’d go back in a heartbeat because of price and location.

Renee at the front desk was very helpful and the views here were fantastic. Great pool area, Nice breakfast included, great location, bikes and beach chairs, etc. definitely get an ocean font room or suite when booking here. I agree the property is aged and there are inconsistencies with the cleaning service but overall we were happy thanks to Renee!

Got a room to be close to the Ft laud air show. This was only place we could find and thought by the pictures on the web that it would be just fine. We were wrong. This place is falling apart from the inside out. We changed rooms to get a bigger room for our little family, but the hot water didn’t work, it leaks badly from rain. The room had no cable, spotty wi-​fi, this place needs to shutdown, renovate and reopen. One building is condemned with city stickers for hazardous area and caution tape everywhere. The second room we moved to hadnt been rented out for weeks the office said. We looked through the windows of the condemned bldg. and the rooms are incredible with all new furniture and appliances. I suspect the owners ran out of money and are taking care of problems as they arise. I live close, in Boca, and I am a native to Florida. This was the worst hotel/​bed & breakfast I have ever stayed at. This place was probably cool back in the 70’s. Time to shut down, renovate and regroup. Ms. Renee was the best though, she did her best to accommodate us in every way.

This place is a dump. It had a beautiful view right on the water, but is falling apart on the inside. The staff is inconsistent with their service (some days clean towels and bath mat, others nothing or no shampoo etc.). I am wearily on the cleanliness of sheets and wouldn’t be surprised if they were not cleaned at all.
The slider glass door to the waterfront porch was completely busted and took 2 full grown men to move it open. This had to be done everytime someone wanted to open or close the thing. On top of that the Television remote was missing and the front desk employees tried 4 different remotes, none of which worked. TV is the least of my worries while on vacation and has only been added to this review to reflect other issues.
After completing my stay there of 4 nights I can say that the staff does come by to clean the rooms at around 1pm (a little late if you ask me) and mops the floor and makes the bed. Very rarely do they replace towels and they did not replace the sheets once while we were staying there. This leads me to believe they might not even switch them between customers.
It’s a real shame what poor management can do to a once beautiful establishment. A Little Inn By the Sea could really be a 4 start Inn if it was kept up and the owner showed a little pride in his work. You can tell the owners of this place are only out for money and do not care about the up keep of their place. Once upon a time I am sure this place was beautiful, but unfortunately that time was LONG ago. Once they fire the management, get new owners, and do some much needed remodeling, I would strongly urge you to stat away. The view is perfect, the price is cheap, but again when have you ever stayed at a water view hotel for a low cost? Red flags should be flapping in the wind.
I would really like to give this place 1 star, maybe fewer, but the fact that it is on the water and the view is so beautiful I felt 2 stars were just. This is ONLY for the view, and not for anything related to the Inn. If this place were 4 blocks inland, it would’ve been condemned long ago.

The bed was small, the room was small, the a/​c didnt work… and no extra towels… but the view can’t get better and the clerk, although high-​strung, was really nice. I went and walked on the beach in the early morning and it was practically empty which is a bonus if you don’t like high-​touristy areas. Even without the air conditioner, I managed by just opening up a window and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves.

I wish I could give 0 stars! This place is not only filthy and unkempt but everything there is outdated, poorly done and did I mention filthy? The «breakfast» part of the whole «bed & breakfast» bit is a joke, during my abbreviated stay there, they put out a bag of wonder bread and coffee. Not to mention that the website shows «updated & remodeled rooms», SCAM.
The place is a pit, STAY AWAY!

We booked thru Travelocity, $ 89 a night, booked with our flights. At first sight, all was great. Not a super sharp and clean-​cut place, more home like (their sign says «bed and breakfast»), a little older building… nice. Service was good, Sean (the guy who keeps things running and in place) is great, super nice and attentive to our needs. Our room had a full functioning kitchen set-​up: small two-​burners, microwave oven, toaster oven, little frig, sink and plates, cups, cutlery, all sorts of kitchen stuff. Awesome for us, we have kids! Big screen TV, too. THEN, the next day our bathroom light broke, we found a window lock missing (easy to enter thru), the A/​C unit was very loud (OK if you like the «white» noise for sleeping), and our little frig didn’t close properly and we lost $ 30 worth of fresh salmon fish… TV only has 5 channels, no option for cable or movies… outside light didn’t work so we couldn’t sit outside and enjoy our dinner… it’s right by the beach so it’s a great location… the last night there we ran out of paper towel, tissue paper AND toilet paper. We asked for replacement, never saw it. Well, lots of «little» things that in the end really bothered us. AND at check out, we got a compassionate look from the guy kid behind the desk, «sorry about that» and «have a nice day» :-(
