Arelis Dominican Glamour Hair Salon & Spa

I’ve been coming to this salon for about two years, since they were at another location on Route 1. The new salon is specious and I almost never have to wait for my hair to be washed and rolled. The few times I’ve had to wait are when I come after work and even then, it’s a five minute wait. The staff is friendly and there are specials on Mondays. The price of a wash and set depends on hair length and texture; for me it runs about 35 dollars. Arelis is definitely my go-​to salon!

I have seen two ppl just wrap their hair and go. Terrible service!!! Ladies go some where else! I started to come to Arelis because the service was quick and my hair looked great. Now I feel I am in the salon way to long and my hair look’s ok. My question to the owner is, Why only have two stylist? You know why, in order to pocket more of our hard earn money. The stylist are the ones who do everything! The two women who wash hair never seem busy. I feel bad for the stylist, they look over worked and tired all the time. I feel bad as a customer having to wait all dang day! Personally I do not think the owner cares. She is just pocketing money and smiling on our dime.

I love Arelis salon. Customer service is GREAT! Technicians are experienced! The price is right! Visit each week for fresh look!

I came in and was motioned by a woman at the desk to sign in and to check off what services I wanted on a small form (wash and set).I went to the side where the sinks were and was immediately washed and conditioned. After a quick roller set. I was under the dryer for an hour. Then styled to perfection by… I think «Francis». I plan on returning soon.
Also, they have Wash and Set specials Monday –Thursday. Yes!

There’s NOTHING glamorous about this dump. First time, figured I’d try them out despite their reviews. I walk in, sign in and asked how much for a wash and set… the lady hands me a paper with no prices and points at a chair. I sit waiting for someone to assist, minutes pass and people are just talking on the phone and doing nothing. After not being acknowledged and ignored, I could only imagine how their service is when they actually do work on your hair… probably just as half @ss. Rude, piss poor service… I don’t care if they did specials for 50 cents, still overpriced for the service. Go somewhere else, anywhere but this dump.

My experience started very well and I would come to Arelis Salon on a weekly basis, tip the lady who was my hair and stylist each time. Let me also mention that I travel 40 minutes to come to the salon. My experience was horrible! The receptionist was nice and greeted me by name and would tell me she appreciate me traveling so far and coming on a weekly basis, but the stylist aren’t customer friendly. I did have an experience with one stylist and she did my hair twice during the holidays and upon my return I was told she’s not there for a month. Well not being choicey of a stylist the lady who did my hair started washing my hair with extremely cold water and the water splashed all over me she never apologize. My hair style was horrible and she because she didn’t know what she was doing with weave and I asked her before she started if she could do the weave and her reply was «yes.» One of the stylist was giving her hints of how to do my hair in spanish. I was so upset that my hair style was horrible and she was looking for a tip. I didn’t leave her one because I wasn’t satisfied. The receptions told me I could call the owner and I asked it she could give me her number but was told she would call her and have her call me. I left and called back and it was 2 hours later because I never heard from anyone. I was told to come back to the salon and the stylist who was giving her pointers would do my hair over. I read the comment that one of the customers wrote about the kids running through the salon and the manager who maybe the owners sister not being professional and I agree. I’ve been a loyal customer to this salon since before the summer coming every week faithfully. I don’t understance why customer care isn’t important to the owner and stylist concidering you can find a salon everywhere but I’m a person who likes to patronize one and be a loyal customer. Please work on the important comments that everyone has posted. If you don’t you won’t last long.

The receptionist is very nice and welcoming, however some the stylists act as if they are doing your hair for free (with the exception of the short lady who’s booth is in the back). Their is also a very cute little girl in the salon who is very disruptive and gets in the faces of clients. She misbehaves a lot and needs to be controlled. He mother is the rudest of the stylist, who I believe is the owners’ sister. I can say that they do a o.k. job on your hair but I can do to Sulvia’s for just a good of a style AND better service. Also, they are NOT good for children! They pretty much argued with me because I wanted my niece to have a roller set and they wanted to blow out her long hair. They made it so the dryer was too hot and uncomfortable and I had no choice but to take her out after about 20 minutes. They will never get my business again.

I like this salon. I normally get my hair done at their Beltsville location. I was very excited when this Laurel location opened. Saturday January 3^rd. I arrived at the salon ten minutes before their posted 8am open time. I waited in my car til 8:34 and No one came to open the salon. I just left and went to beltsville. I was very disappointed that they didn’t open on time. That is very unprofessional.

Every time I go to this salon, I feel as if I am in New York. The ladies here really know how to do hair, especially African American hair. I do not have a perm and my hair comes out straight all the time. My hair always has body when I leave the salon. This salon is my salon away from home.

I also just moved into the area here from college looking for a great price and great hands for my hair. No place like a Dominican salon and with th wash and set on special days you can’t beat it. Everyone was extremely family they made me feel very welcomed.
Fyi: Dominican salons create healthy hair I see the complaining about the length time of being under the hair dryer but that’s the secret to a great wash and set. And the heat that you think is so much is protected but wonderful Dominican products they have that leaves your hair soft shiny and smelling amazing. You’ll see healthier hair in weeks.

I just moved to the laurel area a couple months ago from New York and was looking for a Dominican Salon that specializes in natural hair and has reasonable prices and hours as I have been getting my hair done in Dominican salons back home for years and I love the way they make my hair feel. I decided to try this salon out because I seen the sign on my way home that they have a special for wash and set $ 25 Monday to Thursday and wanted to try them out. I’ve gotten my hair done 3 times already at this salon and have been very pleased with the outcome all 3 times they have left my hair blown out nicely and extremely soft and bouncy like I like it. I have gotten my hair done twice by Leykey and once by Perla and they both do a very good job in making sure I leave happy and return. I would recommend this salon to anyone who enjoys looking beautiful with there natural hair and natural products. I will continue to go to them as long as I’m living here in laurel Maryland

Omg the worst service I have ever receive on a hair salon they burn my scalp. Very high prices sorry they care more for the money than the service. Maybe the owner need to be more honest when she’s coming to charge her customers.

Maybe I had high expectations. I was looking for a salon closer to home and when I saw the grand opening I thought i would give them a try. I always start with a wash and curl because I will see the customer service and how the salon operates as a whole. I didn’t have an appointment so I asked when I arrived if it was possible to get a wash and curl. She said yes I will be with you in a moment. She proceeded to wash another ladies hair. No problem, I didn’t make an appt. Another stylist said something to her in Spanish and gestured for me to come with her. She started to wash my hair without something to cover me so water wouldn’t splash all over me. I said something to her and someone else translated. I usually don’t have a problem with a language barrier but we are talking about hair. Anyway, I went under the dryer with rollers and the mega dryer is great but I don’t think its necessary to be under it for 45 + mins. I have never sat under a dryer for that long unless my hair was wrapped. So after 2 hours of this Im sure that Im next to finish up so I can leave already. No, I have to wait again for a stylist. She finally gets to my hair and while I appreciate the hot hand blow dryer to straighten my hair to the bone my ears and scalp were on fire and it would have been nice if she acted like she cared that I was cringing as she got close to my ears. Perhaps I was a little disappointed because this was my 1^st time there and I didn’t expect a basic wash and curl to take almost three hours when the salon wasn’t even full. Also, Im used to being able to discuss my hair and what I want done and I didn’t feel like I could do that and be understood. So I would go back in an emergency (wash and blow dry not rollers again) but I know not expect any customer service. Prices were reasonable (much cheaper that my regular salon) but I have no problem paying more for a great experience.

The best salon around! These ladies know what they are doing! My daughter has had her hair done 3 x and all 3 were beautiful!
