Yeah, after today I definitely won’t be back!!!
I was scheduled for a 11am appointment and I’m not a new patient. At 12 noon, I ask the receptionist what’s going on and why am I still waiting. No one seems to have an answer. It’s not until I go off on the receptionist and assistant that my name is called.
I go into the treatment area, and the assistant is asking me which tooth it is and what I’m actually here for. I’m like, you all scheduled this particular appointment — you should have all the details!
Very rude and very poor customer service.

They only receive a one star because Dr. Dukes is amazing. My family has been coming here for 10 years and the service has went completely down. From the overbooking to the overbilling! And don’t try and discuss your issues with Dr. Batz because he simply just blows you off as if he is doing you a favor. My family will no longer use this office. I prefer to choose a practice with great doctors that actually care about their patients.

Honestly I’m very scared after reading the reviews! I’m here right now waiting and I already saw one person leave and said that there going to find another dentist office because he was waiting so long and two different dentist told him two different things .so he decided to leave. Now waiting for them to put my insurance in. I’ll let you know when I’m done if its really a one star like the other reviews… Omg I never been so nervouse I didn’t see not one good review I’m young I don’t need anything happening to my teeth

My name is Frances Salemi; I was in your office in July for a tooth extraction and was turned away because of high blood pressure. After leaving the chair I was taken to a male to talk about a refund and he immediately said, «we will be keeping at least $ 190 for the X-​ray and examination. My face was as swollen as a golf ball and was saying «what am I supposed to do». The dental assistant said, «there is an emergency dentist in DC, I’ll get the information for you». She gave me my X-​ray and nothing else.
That was what happened, and know I will tell you what is going to happen next; you will refund, to my account, today, $ 228 and email me at
to tell me you have completed the task.
I have been in touch with my insurance company to find out what the charge was, they said «they paid $ 96 and my portion is $ 66». They are looking into it.
Here is the unethical part; Taking a patients money before checking vital signs that will determine if you qualify for treatment.

The worst! The reviews are true people! An incompetent assistant put my cap on backwards. Yes backwards. They had to pry it off and turn it around. I waited in the chair 4 hours for a 1 ½ procedure. I was so pissed off I called the BBB. Plus the billing department is so unorganized and will bill you even after you pay. They billed be 3 years later for a procedure that was paid in full. Watch them very closely and get copies of everything. Very shady business. They have only one competent person a male who works in Billing. I forgot his name but he is the only one that knows what he is doing. They are lucky I have to at least give one star! Trust me. Go elsewhere.

I went there because I had a veneer break off in the middle of the night. I was asked to pay for the procedure while I was still sitting in the dentist chair with my bib on. Which felt very shady to me. After several returns (they try to keep you coming back multiple times) the Dr. proposed several things to be done, costing a total of 10k, all of it not covered by insurance.
I was sent a bill months later and when I called to confirm what the bill was, it turns out it was a ploy to try to get me to come back for another appointment.
Needless to say the veneer they put on fell off after 8 months, and I went to another dentist to get it fixed and it was $ 500 cheaper somewhere else.
This place feels like a used car lot. Stay away.

I still haven’t returned to this place, but am reading other reviews on Unilocal about them and would like to respond to the business owner.
At the time I was a client there, I was a there for a few years, only because the hours seemed super reasonable and I didn’t have to take time off of work to make appointments. But as a friend told me «They keep hustler hours» for ppl to come because they won’t go anywhere else, which I found to be true of them. The wait times for an appointment was ridiculous, & my biggest issue was that they changed the prices of procedures and dressed it up to be the insurance companies fault saying «they changed the amount that they would cover from the time they told me a week ago», and they only told me the price of the root canal (approx. $ 300), excluding the cost for the crown. They only told me about the crown after the root canal and said that I had to come back to get the crown before the tooth got infected. Honestly, I didn’t know you had to have a crown when you get a root canal done. I’m not a dentist, but they were hoping I was ignorant so they could take advantage of me. The crown cost me $ 900, but then $ 1200 after they said the insurance co wouldn’t pay the rest. So they beat me for an additional $ 1200, when I was told the procedure would cost $ 300. And then the Freakin crown broke off within 6 months, cracking the tooth in front of it. So I went back, they said they would fix it but I would have to pay to have them cut my gums in order for them to make the crown fit. that was the last straw of the many issues I had with them. Never went back again
I can’t stress enough NOT to go to these ppl. There are enough negative reviews to warn you. If you go anyway, be prepared to add your negative review here too.
Oh Yeah, to the Business owner, I don’t know why ya’ll are still open either. I guess you’ve got enough ppl to scam to cover your 23 years of poor service, but you better hope your license doesn’t get revoked. It should be…
Poor Service + Bad business practices + A bunch of Negative reviews = won’t be in business for much longer… Just sayin.

Batz & Weiner deserve 0 stars for this place. I had a total of 5 visits. 1 for a cleaning/​check up, 2 for root canal and 2 for a crown, the last 4 for the same tooth. I will never come back after today. For the 5^th time, I had to wait in an uncomfortable, overcrowded, and «under construction» waiting room for over an hour. They overcharged me for my root canal. I only found this out when I talked to my provider. When I called to ask about the overcharging, I spoke to a woman who had difficulty with english and put me on hold for a half hour. The bill was clearly higher than what it should have been based on my paper work from my provider. I have been to many dentist offices in the past, but none were even close to this bad. I would recommend that this dentist hire people who can create a manageble schedule for their doctors if they are so under staffed. If they’re going to make you wait for long periods of time, they should at least make you comfortable — like maybe provide a functional tv to watch? I’m adding a photo of the messy room and non-​working tv they placed me in today.

Dr Attapour is a competent Oral Surgeon so all the stars go for his handling of my procedure. I had two wisdom teeth on the bottom extracted the right one was partially taken out in a coronectomy procedure.
I had my consult, which you can review in my previous post. Today (Thursday morn) I had my surgery. I went under anesthesia, the Oral Surgeon Assistant was a cute black man, who I attempted to chat up (not in a thirsty way) and he was just NOT having it. I couldnt get him to crack a smile or engage in my jokes. I was like OH COME ON. Youre about to assist in slicing my mouth open can you indulge me??? Nope. Thats fine like I say in my previous medical reviews. I could care less about hellos and small talk. I was just trying to have fun and lighten up the mood.
Anyway. Im about to go under. I dont see Dr K till about 4 minutes before I go under. Meanwhile I attached to all these tubes and machines. The room is TINY and absolutely cluttered and stuck in the 19(we just moved in and have remodeled) décor. I mean 4 people crammed into that one room. Gross.
Then some random asian assistant came to assist the Dr. but she didnt introduce herself. So when I woke up I had sort of mild panic attack. I kept yellin «The People» «The People» cause my mind didnt recognize who this lady was and whats more is they did not provide me with any pain meds when I woke up. I was in alot of pain which is part of the reason for my emotional breakdown… Good thing I brought my own oxytocin.
This place is a no go for me. Either than their late hours. I would avoid if you can.
But thank you Dr. Attapour doing my surgery!

Bad customer service… long wait times, no privacy (get your teeth cleaned in the open), rude phone receptionists, billing questions only handled via email.

Please do not use this Dentist! Save yourself a lot of problems. The staff is rude and Supervisors are un professional, they won’t even talk to u when you ask to speak to them in person. I used them back in January 2014 and got over charged more than $ 100 dollars! After many phone calls and emails back and forth I finally got re-​in burst. Then 8 months later my bank card gets charged another $ 111.00 dollars!!! For no apparent reason. Come to find out that these Dentists don’t even have a billing department! They said they are «working» on one. That’s scary because it’s a pretty good size business they’re running over there to not have a billing department.

Stay away!!! It’s unfortunate because I like my dentist but the staff is rude and unprofessional. Billing questions will only be «answered» by email which eliminates the possibility of you getting any type of professional assistance from these people. I had to email back and forth for 10 days to get a response about a balance for xrays they did unnecessarily. It had been done previously and now my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I’m still waiting for a response. Avoid the headache and don’t go to this office.

Where to start, came in originally for tooth pain in a molar with a filling on the left and a cracked tooth on the right. Was fitted for a crown on the right and was told my left tooth pain was due to the fact that I must grind my teeth (which I don’t). I was fitted for a custom sleep guard for $ 800 and told to check in in a month. Came back, still in pain, and no grind marks on my $ 800 guard. Shocker, I don’t grind my teeth, turns out the filling was brushing my nerve, so in went a temporary filling. Now for the crown, it seemed a little weird feeling and when I brought it up, they dismissed it as they know best. By this time I was done seeing these dentists, since 4−5hr visits, and lots of money wasted aren’t my thing. Had my crown looked at by a dentist that has rave reviews, and low and behold, batz and weiner did a hack job. See pic I’m posting. A crown should be smooth transition to tooth, not a gaping division. Please please please don’t go here!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If you want to experience a Free Clinic kind of dental emergency place, then this is the place for you. A 9:30 appointment translates into around a 45 minute wait in the waiting area that is incredibly cramped (imagine the space on a domestic airline). Then you are escorted into the examination room where you will wait for another 45 minutes to an hour. The total turnaround time for the visit was 3 hours! Oh and by the way, once they have you in the examination room then they decide to ask for payment before they start any treatment. What an extra special touch! To say the staff is rude is an understatement. Abuse is the term I would use to describe their interaction with customers. I work in government where customer service is often replaced with people with a compliance mentality. This place should be out of business but unfortunately desperation sets in.

Wish I could give it 0 star. Worst dentist I ever been to. The hours are good but it’s a zoo in that place. The dentist was very dismissive of my questions and concerns. Did not do a great cleaning either. Then try to rip me off by saying I need all this stuff that I don’t (I got a 2^nd opinion bc they were so shady). Then they kept billing me wrong and it took NINE months to get the billing issue resolved because they «only» do billing by email and wont speak to you on the phone about it… which is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. And they don’t even respond to emails. The staff is very rude, unprofessional and not helpful at all. This place is garbage in every way. Go somewhere else!!!

Wow, I didn’t know this place was still around! Their lack of professionalism, rude staff and poor payment policy made me run from this office. Imagine a dental professional doing a very general exam on you and telling you to sign a document and pay upfront BEFORE your teeth are cleaned? +
Their equipment is out of date, the office is dirty and there is a reason they are opened those hours, it takes forever to get seen!

Worst dental experience ever. This place is not even deserving of one star. I initially visited the office back in the middle of December to have an emergency evaluation due to lots of pain in tooth 19. Essentially I was in need of a root canal. I saw some doctor who has a foreign name like Abdullah or something. Now I had to wait to have the root canal done until January when I got better dental insurance.
The initial visit was a long wait in the waiting room. The office room in the back was very dirty and the doctor left a previous patients information up on the television. So much for privacy and HIPPA I guess. Yes there is a TV in the waiting room but they are selling you all kinds of stuff. The paperwork was also very excessive and the office is run literally like a cattle shop hence why if you call they can get you right in. They just move all their patients through and they make sure you don’t forget to visit the insurance office before you leave also.
The doctor gave me an antibiotic that helped for a few weeks. However the weekend before I had to get my root canal done I was in the worst pain of my life and I’ve had a fractured acetabulum (hip joint) before. I was doing real well eating stuff on the other side of my mouth to prevent hurting my other side. I had some pretzel bites and I guess one of those salt crystals got hung up between the bad tooth and flared up all that pain.
I should of just went straight to the office but thought I could call and see what my options were. I was seeking of course something lightly stronger than the Motrin that I have been taking ever since my hip was fractured years ago. I was in no way a drug seeker but I have reason to believe this is what the doctor was thinking. The doctor refused to prescribe anything else and told me I would just need to get through it and keep popping down liver killing ibuprofen pills which I mention I had been taking for years now to help with pain in my hip.
Needless to say I cancelled my root canal after the horrible treatment received and went to a nice clinic in Burtonsville that was able to work me in the same day. I wasn’t looking forward to their price anyway. The clinic in Burtonsville was able to do my root canal for $ 925.00 almost $ 600.00 cheaper then this worthless clinic.
PLEASE DO YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY A FAVOR & AVOID THIS CLINIC!

The staff is not awful & the Dr was very smart, but the wait time between ‘things’ was ridiculously unacceptable.
I had a 930 am appointment for one loose tooth. It is 1130 and I have still not left or heard the solution. I was seen for 10 minutes at 1015, told I needed an expensive 3D scan, paid for it and am waiting to see what now…
I came here because they had weekend hours but I forgot to look them up on Unilocal before I checked in. I instantly regret this decision.

Gotta love the fact that the only decent review of this place on Unilocal is by someone who has ONLY 1 review, that happens to be of this place, and includes dental industry terminology. Pathetic.
My personal experience there was beyond words bad. They were misleading. They lied to my insurance company and ultimately to the head of HR of our company. It was so bad that the insurance company ended up writing me a check for the co-​pay I made to this office just trying to compensate me for the garbage this business put me through.
And, they broke my crown and I had to pay out of pocket to replace it.
This place smells terrible, it’s filthy, and the staff is rude and not trustworthy.
On top of that, because they have my cell phone number, they frequently send me annoying text messages about specials (make an appointment today and enter for a chance to win a…).

Let me preface this by saying I’ve never had a dental issue in my entire life, not even a cavity, so to say that I was scared out of my mind from my last visit, is an understatement. I went in for my normal cleaning and was told by the hygienist that she wanted the dentist to take a look at my teeth after the cleaning. First of all, they changed the policy, so if you come in just for a cleaning, you don’t get the luxury of seeing a dentist, you have to see a hygienist. WHY? Anyway, the dentist comes in and looks in my mouth for 15 seconds and blurts out, «you have gum disease!» I instantly burst into tears, yes, «Real G’s» cry too. He then proceeds to say to me, «come on, you had to know!» Since I was still crying and couldn’t get my words out, I couldn’t cuss him out like I normally would’ve done, so I just listened to him and tried to pull myself together. Now, how in the world would I know if I had gum disease? If I were a dentist myself, I wouldn’t have to come to you!
I immediately booked an appointment with the Periodontist on staff and he took a look at my gums. He said I didn’t have gum disease but my gum line was receding. I got a prescription and had to come back in 6 weeks. Well, I come back in for my 6 week appointment and the receptionist says the Periodontist wasn’t there because of an emergency. She said they attempted to call me 7 days prior but couldn’t find my number. I was flabbergasted! I was just there 6 weeks ago and they had two of my numbers on file. I made a special trip to them for no reason. Besides, who knows they’re going to have an emergency 7 days prior to the emergency? This is the same specialist that will charge you a $ 50 or $ 100 fee if you cancel on him without 48 hour notice. REALLY??? So I should charge him $ 100 for canceling on me and not giving me sufficient notice.
Needless to say, I found a better Periodontist and I don’t have a receding gum line, nor do I have gum disease. My teeth are healthy and cavity free… still!
Changing to a dentist that’s more compassionate, competent, responsible and where you’re not just a number… but a person.
