…I think I’ve finally found a spot for all my auto needs!
First of all… I came here because of the awesome Unilocal reviews, and I’m so glad I did! I messaged them on Unilocal about the issues I was having with my car and they responded promptly, telling me to come in when I get off work (ahem…this NEVER happens. Car places either want you to come in at a random time or keep your car all day smh) So I came right in (checked in of course, and scored a $ 15 off coupon!) and he looked at my car quickly, wrote me up an estimate and explained everything in detail. The price was good, and what put the icing on the cake was that he said I could come in at 4:30 and it’d be done by 6. I came in a week later and got the work done. They had free wifi, free snacks, and a TV. AND he exceeded my expectations — - I was out the door by 5:40! I cant thank Gary’s enough for their flexibility, kind customer service, and speedy service. I will surely be back for all my car needs… as you should too!

I have finally found a car repair shop that is inexpensive and does a fantastic job. The people here are very friendly and, they honored all of the coupons I printed from their website. Great place to go for any and all car problems.

BY FAR the best automotive experience you will ever have. I actually emailed them and Sue got back to me immediately and made an appointment as quickly as possible. You can drop your car early if needed, they always accommodate you as needed. They got it done much earlier than i expected, called me back and I was able to pay over the phone and pick it right up. They even called later to make sure I was satisfied and invited us back. GO HERE for all of your automotive needs! I got an inspection and in was quick and painless. The best auto shop I have ever been too. They are super friendly and clean. The inside is very clean and they offer drinks and snacks. The front desk is super organized and friendly. They offer coupons online which is nice. They also called me back to make sure everything was fine with my service and sent a coupon for future work. Would definitely recommend and go back for all my future car needs.

I’m very suspicious by nature of any business that is car-​related and recently stopped going to Omega Autowerks in Laurel. I took my car in for spark plugs which was fixed but then one of the mechanics said I needed a new head gasket. The head gasket was replaced a year ago with a new rubberized one. Not even a good sell, so I’m done with them.
On recommendations of a friend, I went to Gary’s this week. The source of the grinding was hard to find but after two test drives, the mechanic, Junior” found it and it was very minor. They could have charged me a lot and only charged me for a brake inspection. They have my business for now on and I will tell all my friends and neighbors too. The office staff is more than friendly and accommodating-​what a nice change.

Gary’s is the only place I trust with my car. The customer service is always great and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their car serviced!

They did a great job at a great price. I needed a new timing belt and water pump for my ’98 Honda Civic LX. I got three quotes, and Gary’s was the lowest by $ 200. I made an appointment and brought in the car. I was on a tight schedule and knew it would be an all-​day job. Not only did they get it done; they got it done two hours early, which made my day so much easier. They also used brand-​name, new (not rebuilt) parts, including 2-year/24,000-mile warranty.
I asked them to look over the car and they found that another auto shop had used nonstandard parts on a repair, resulting in damage to the vehicle. Their staff is friendly and really knows their stuff and made things easy.
Honest, fast and conscientious. You can’t ask for anything more from a mechanic. Gary’s is a second-​generation family business and it’s easy to see why.

Scheduled for a Maryland State Inspection for an out-​of-​state pre-​owned car purchase. From the convenience of scheduling thru their website, up to the actual inspection, the overall experience was amazing! I’m highly recommending Gary’s Automotive! Kudos to Sue, who was very professional and courteous! I scheduled online on a Monday night and she called me during the first hour of the following morning to confirm and was very considerate of my time. She explained how long the inspection will take and how much it will cost. Upon arrival, she efficiently got all the required information and gave me recommendations while I wait. I had a quick lunch at the shopping center close by. She called me right away after the inspection completed, which was within their expected time. I was basically in-​and-​out in an hour. I’m definitely coming back next time to try their car services. Thank you very much! You guys are a treasure of Laurel!

I’ve lived in the area for quite some time and wish I’d known they were here long before a week ago. From the initial phone call to the service it was all nothing less of professional, friendly and welcoming. There wasn’t a long wait and prior to them going anything to your vehicle they speak with you explaining everything and ask your consent. I will be going here again. Actually I may go today if they have availability.

From my first call to Gary’s I knew I would like this place Gary Jr is a nice friendly guy. I am new to Maryland and I needed an inspection of my car. When I entered the business it was clean and the staff was helpful and as friendly as Gary Jr. I needed a minor repair which was reasonable. They had to send for the part so Sue took me to the IHOP and when they finished they picked me up. I will make them my go to car repair service. Thank you for the good service. Sheila

About 1million times better experience here than Saavco in Laurel. Very seamless process of getting an estimate for repairs by phone, having car serviced in a timely manner, and having everything performed for a fair price with no trumped up list of additional maintenance needed. I’d return here.

I received a repair order from the police to get my headlights fixed and put in the light bulbs myself. I looked online and saw the great reviews for Gary’s automotive and I definitely got the family atmosphere feel. My car was quickly inspected and completed within minutes and on my back home. Both the front desk and mechanic were very helpful and pleasant. I also was not charged for this inspection so that is an added bonus!

I’ve been looking for a good mechanic for quite a while now and I think I’ve finally found one. Today was my first visit. It’s a family-​owned business that clearly places a great deal of emphasis on customer service. I needed an embarrassing amount of exterior lights. The work was done quickly for a reasonable price. Gary Jr. explained a couple of other issues in detail with no pressure whatsoever to get them fixed right away. The staff was fantastic, especially Sue at the front desk, who welcomed me like a long-​time customer. In a world where everything has become so impersonal, I appreciate a personal touch, especially when dealing with annoying car repairs. I’ll definitely be back when something else inevitably goes wrong with my car!

Family atmosphere. Very welcoming and timely service. Went there for my state inspection and was fearful after hearing horror stories. My heart is at peace now. Everything was well explained and Sue at the front desk was of great help. I know I have found the right place to take care of my car and look forward to being their customer.

Not from the area. Stationed here. Came here after reading good reviews and got way more than I expected! Brought them some breakfast sandwiches and the son (father and son run business) was very thankful and friendly. Sue, who works the reception window was very kind and has a great sense of humor. First time here changed one axle’s worth of brakes and had Gary, Jr. take me into the garage to show me something. My knee-​jerk reaction was «oh Lord, this person is trying to sell me something I don’t need». Boy, was I wrong! He brought me out to show me that my rear driver’s side tire had a band inside it snap and there were ragged bald patches through my tire for about 18″! With the way I drive on highways, I’m lucky nothing terrible happened to me! So we added two tires to the order. Including labor for my two tires (Nissan Altima), and front brakes, including rotors, the total was 600. I also purchased their VIP car care club plan. For $ 106, you get 4 oil changes (that alone pays for itself), a tire rotation and balance, one time 10% off any labor charge you choose, a coupon for 30−60−90−120K service, coupon for fluid service or flush, $ 20 per axle off brake service, coupon off air filters, buy one get one windshield wiper coupon, and a coupon off alignment.
I was having phone trouble that day, and happily and free of charge, the offered to take me to the store so I could get my phone squared away because of the unexpected wait on the tires we didn’t know we’d need. Sue is an angel. She also picked me up when I called.
The waiting room is small, but there seem to be an abundance of repeat customers, of all different ages, shapes, colors, sizes, ethnicities, and genders. Those who are known seem to be treated like family. New customers all seem to be treated with respect and a great sense of humor. There are good people running this place.
I could not ask for a more honest, caring, down-​to-​earth, quality run and customer service oriented business. Their pricing is better than competitive.
I will not be going anywhere else for car service so long as I am in Maryland.

I went here to get a state inspection for my car because they offered a good deal with a coupon. I made an appointment, they inspected at my car at the appointed time (no backlog of customers ahead of me) and I was good to go in a little over an hour. The receptionist was friendly and courteous. And the mechanic took some extra time to answer a non-​inspection related question about my car. Overall, I had a good experience there.

Does NOT honor coupons and charges $ 16 for a «reinspection fee» (which is free everywhere else) and $ 18 to even look at tint (which is also free everywhere else), and a STANDARD PART OF STATE INSPECTION. This fee is not instituted in other more ethical places. Unless you want to be charged for superflous fees (and fail your car inspection for things that pass at other inpsection places), then take your business elsewhere.
Check the other legitimate reviews as well as on google, «Gary» does not have a good reputation.
