Only reason it does not get 5 stars is they don’t have an outdoor seating area. I like the fact that it has food trucks and not an actual restaurant. There was a taco and pizza truck the two times I have been there, but you can see who they have online. They have a decent beer list that rotates often but has select choices that stay the same. Check the website. Try out a key with a 4 beer sample beer selection to find your favorite. They also fill growlers. They also have cornhole, shuffle board, and small bands on occasion. So there is something for everyone. Not really anything bad to say. Bravo to Jailbreak for sticking to what you do well.

Stopped in with wifey to sample a local brewspot. Tried the Infinite, an amber ale; Feed the Monkey, an orange hefe; Dusk Till Dawn, an imperial stout and B. Limey, a key lime pale ale.
First, I have to say it’s place is really clean and feels larger than it is because of the probably 20 foot ceilings. The wall behind t bar is all glass in the middle with stacked stone on the sides and gives off very comfortable vibe.
Second, besides the above mentioned beers in the flight I ordered ($ 7 for 4; a little more than typical), I sampled the Made wit Basil and the Cask Special, a cucumber with caraway seed saison. Believe it or not, the cucumber thing was really good. I was really wanting to like the basil wit bier thinking that the basil would come through more.
To be honest, they were all unremarkable except for the Imperial Stout. it had a real complexity to the flavor profile and if I was actually going to spend the $ 7 a pint they charge, that would be worth it at 10.3%
Don’t really think I would come back on purpose. The guy behind the bar didn’t know very much and the girl that served us was only slightly more knowledgeable.
A note for the younger crowd: on this Wednesday evening at 7 PM the average age seemed too be well north of 30. And, although she probably didn’t mean to, the female server seemed like she has an attitude. When I questioned her about the process of one of the beers she tried to bills hit her way through rather than admit she didn’t really know. At least the dude said I’d have to ask one of the brewers cuz he didn’t know the answer.

I’m hesitant to give out a 5 star review but I can’t find a reason not to. For what it is, a tasting room, it may possibly be the best setup I’ve ever been to. It’s also one of the biggest tasting rooms I’ve been to. The layout is pretty cool and since it is so large there is plenty of room to move around. Sometimes the bar can be a little difficult to get to if you aren’t sitting there because it is so packed with stools and there isn’t really an area without them to get to the bartender from. The beers are… money. I’ve usually not a fan of infused beers but they are spot on with the flavors here. If you’re bringing a growler, don’t bring a tall one. Their taps are a little short so they really have to tip the growler when filling if they are tall and that makes for a messy fill. They don’t serve food but there is almost always a great food truck out front to fill up on, or you can BYOF. They also have tons of events from cyber symposiums to hiring events to yoga so make sure to check out their facebook fan page to see what events are coming up. Lastly, make sure to use the bathroom. They have one of the coolest sinks I’ve ever seen.

Jailbreak is a very nice atmosphere and friendly place. I’m not a huge fan of dogs around food and tight tables but get that pet-​friendly and craft beer go together. I hope for a «no dogs zone» some day but good beer can keep me coming back. I went here looking forward to the jalapeño ipa but found it too heavy on the jalapeño. But I unexpectedly loved the chocolate and coconut porter. Creativity gets them five stars.

I tend to stick to the lighter selection of beers. The B. Limey and Lemon Drop’d were my favorite. The first has notes of key lime, while the second was a sour ale.
$ 7 for a 4 beer sampler is definitely the way to go. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. There is a rotating list of food trucks for the week. I’ll be back for more!

I came here for a beer group meetup, tasting, and tour.
I love the ‘look’ of the inside. It’s so finished. There are plen-​ty of tables, as well as a smaller seating area with couches. The bar is where it’s at though. Right behind it is a huge window into the brewhouse.
One of the things I love to anticipate and see at breweries is their flight holder. In the case of Jailbreak, it’s a giant flat key. Sort of the adult version of the ‘key to Washington DC’ you can by in most gift shops around town. Do NOT take this one home with you though.
I had a tour led by Kasey, one of the owners. Tickets for these are available online and it comes with a free glass. I won’t go into detail about the tour (don’t wanna give anything away), but I will say that it’s one of the more interesting ones I’ve been on.
I had never had any of their beer before coming here, and at the time I was most excited about trying their 2 most popular: the Big Punisher and the Welcome to Scoville (both are available in cans). I now keep a 6-​er of Scoville in my fridge at all times. Some other good stuff from them includes the Made Wit Basil, a witbier with a ton of basil added, the Infinite, and the Smoke on the Waterfront.
I’m a big fan and think this place is a fantastic edition to the MD beer scene.

Terrible first impression– came here for the first time tonight (Friday) and brought my parents who were visiting from Ohio. The seating is family style/​first come first serve. It was pretty busy and we found two spots where my mom and I could sit. We asked the people at the table if they were using the chairs, they said no, and when I turned back around they were making faces letting me know we were definitely unwelcome at the table. I walked away and the woman, realizing how rude she was, chased after me. This was the first taste of the rudeness we encountered.
Then, I went to the restroom to wash my hands and there was literally no toilet paper at all. The bathroom has hand dryers so no paper towels either. I went to tell the bartender and he was unreceptive to the problem. Just shrugged me off… Ok then… We proceed to order and then ask for a cup for the coke (in a can) and the male bartender was again not receptive to giving us one made a face at my boyfriend. Both male bartenders (beards/​hipster looking) were rude, nonchalant, and flippant. The only saving grace was the female bartender who was nice.
Then my dad was nice enough to offer his chair to the guy next to him (who was eating) and his friend said, loud enough for us to hear, «oh my god I hope she gets up too» referring to my mom.
Clearly this was one bad experience, but for our first experience, this has left such a bad taste in my mouth that we won’t be back. In my dads words «the bartenders were dicks and provided less than mediocre service and it wasn’t even that busy». Thanks dad, pretty well said.

Beautiful tasting room and top notch beer. A fun place to hang out and do your own thing. Last week, my wife and I brought our six year old and a deck of cards and had a great time playing games at one of the big beer hall tables while we enjoyed a few craft brews.
My only complaint would be that $ 7 a pint is a bit much. You can drink the beer cheaper out in the wild.

Good beer inside, delicious food truck outside. We enjoined ourselves there. Plus, It is a great place to watch sports games here, great vibes.

If you want a tour, you’ll have to book online; they seem incapable of doing that by phone. A great tour! One of the cleanest breweries I’ve ever seen. There’s even a huge glass wall in the tap room so all can see the brewing tanks.
Beers — most are pretty good; I love their VanDammit and the Amber Ale is pretty solid. They have some good IPAs, but the jalapeño-​infused «Scoville» is a bit too vegetal for me. There’s always some great experimental brew to try as well as seasonal offerings. Get a flight or a pint for $ 7.
The tap room atmosphere is laid back. There are huge comfy couches, picnic benches, standing tables, huge TVs (but not as overstimulating as a sports bar) and even a shuffleboard table. Bring your own food or buy something at one of the many foodtrucks that come by.
Location’s not the most convenient, though they apparently chose this location due to its water’s low chlorine content. Definitely worth a visit!

Had an awesome time here! Even though it was super busy the bartenders did not miss a beat. I wish they served small plates but maybe that’s to come. For now, the food truck rocks! Will definitely be back!

What a brewery!!! Though they don’t offer tours they do provide you with so much more!!!
They have a pretty long beer list including carrot cake beers and chili are beers. Mmmmm and for 4 beer samplers it’s only $ 7 and that is a bargain!
And you are encouraged to bring your own food and your own games. In fact very group I saw had wheat thins and cards! What a deal! We saws bachelorette party with sashes and tiaras and a boys group with large beards and pints! We stone is encouraged to come!!!
If you don’t remember to bring your own food… they have a food truck outside to buy snacks and meals! What a deal!
This is most definitely a winning location for a date afternoon or events! Come one, come all!

The location is in an industrial complex. The sign on the frontage along Washington Boulevard is very small and I definitely missed it the first time I came here.
Once you actually find the place and park (their parking lot gets PACKED, so that should tell you something about how popular it is), it’s kind of weird that you are walking past window and cabinet manufacturers to go drink beer. But the parking lot is well lit which is nice! However, once you walk into the brewery, it feels like you’re in a separate restaurant. It’s very masculine in design with live-​edge wood tables with pipe fittings for legs and dark colored finishes, but, let’s face it, you don’t care about any of this because you want to hear about the beer!
The beer. THE BEER! It’s so good! It is a little expensive (around $ 7 for a pint), but they locally source some of the ingredients and, ethically, that is something I can get behind. The flavor combinations are on point and I honestly haven’t had a beer that I didn’t like. I don’t even like IPA’s and I can totally enjoy their as Scoville Jalapeño IPA. All their stouts that I’ve tried are great too!
I give Jailbreak a ⁴⁄₅ only because the location could be better.

Maybe I just picked a bad day to come here, but this place didn’t really do too much for me. We dropped by on Saturday based on the information on their website that they were open until 10pm and offered tours at 5pm. However, we were bummed to find that upon arrival, there was a handwritten sign on the front door that they would only be open until 4pm today and that there were no food trucks coming. Unfortunately since they closed st 4pm, that meant there was no tour at 5pm… Which was the whole point of us driving down from Pennsylvania to check out the place. (We do a brewery tour day trip the day after Christmas each year, and came here based on a friends recommendation)
While the tasting room is well decorated, there is no table service, and having so many seats (they were all full) at such a large bar, it was somewhat of a challenge to get the bartenders attention to order drinks. Unfortunately upon arriving at the bar, we found that they had run out of a fair number of the beers advertised on the table top signs, so it took a little while to figure out what beers to go into a flight. I did like the metal key flight holders they had!
All the beers I tasted were well executed, and I think this brewery is competition material for some of the brews I tried– I wouldn’t be surprised if in a year or two they have some awards to hang in the tasting room.
Beers as good as they were, I have to go with 3 stars since they didn’t stick to the hours they had posted on their website, didn’t offer a tour, and ran out of so many beers. I would probably go back if in the area again, but wouldn’t make a special trip out of my way to come back.

Cool brewery! Went on a weekend and they had a live band and the place was packed!
They have a plethora of different and unique beers like jalapeño, basil, carrot cake, citrus, etc. You can get a sampler of 5 different kinds (your choice) for super cheap! I think it was about $ 7 or $ 8.
The bartender was friendly and gave some good suggestions.
There was a birthday party going on and looked like they were able to bring in their own cake and food.
Bathrooms are nice and check out the sink that also is a hand blow dryer!
It can be a bit of a drive for some people but try to make it out here sometime. It’ll be worth it!

Nice spot in the middle of nowhere but which brewery isn’t? The space is great, the horseshoe bar is focused around a huge window offering a very cool view of the brewing space. There was also a really nice, spacious lounge area with leather sofas and a huge projector screen which I imagine they show big games/​fights on. The bartenders were busy but attentive even though we ordered like 4 flights (sorrrrryyyyyy!).
Now, for the reason I came. The beers aren’t as on point as I wish they would be but ²⁄₄ of their «R&D» taps (what a *great* idea, all breweries should do this) were actually really good… hopefully they make the cut! The Ryemin & Stealin was super yummy although I’d had it at RFD before (it’s what inspired my trip to Laurel) and the ODB was good enough to launch oud bruin style ales into the mainstream. Beware the Imperial Scoville, brewed with thai chili pepper (incl. seeds) — it was spiiiiiiii-​cy! I rather enjoyed it but I can see others asking for a milk chaser.
All in all, it was definitely worth the 45ish minute drive out. They’ve only been around since 2014 with their «Welcome to Scoville» (jalapeño IPA, wasn’t a huge fan of the beer but was definitely inspired by the creativity of it) just showing up in stores in my area earlier 2015. I’d like to return in a year or so to see what they get up to once they’ve found their niche. If I lived nearby, however, I’d absolutely be there all the time just for the cool place to hang out.

Fresh & Unique Brews, Excellent staff and happy ambiance!!!
This is one of my favorite hangout place in area. Main reason being really fresh, flavorful and unique brews and they keep on changing the selection. I absolutely love their deserted and into the dark in the stouts and their jalapeño IPA is just something you should def try.
The ambiance is awesome and bartenders are pretty cool. You can get free sample for trying before ordering the beer. Its hard to find the table sometime but there is sand hockey table for killing the time.
You can bring your own food and the food trucks rotate as well. I really like the waffle truck and Pasta La vista!
I saw people bring their dogs as well in case you are puppy fans!

Brand new brewery you say? 15 minutes away you say? Food trucks you say? No wonder my friends who are even closer than me are regulars here. Jailbreak is a new brewery located (hidden) in Laurel. It’s street that is tucked away next to trees as you are heading North up route 1, it’s right past the pizza hut. If you’re heading south down Route 1 if you see the pizza hut you’ll know you’ve gone too far.
The taproom is actually a really nice space with a large plexiglass wall behind the bar that looks right into the brew house and cellar floor. They have a large open seating area that is first come, first dibs. There is a large area with couches and a projector screen. You can tell whoever designed it has good tastes.
Let’s take a moment and a few sentences to describe the bathrooms. Immaculate and very nice. Everything is motion/​IR sensor based except for the soap. The faucets double as a hand dryer and are pretty cool. By my standards a well kept bathroom is really big plus.
Now to the brews, Jailbreak tries a lot of different, interesting and unique brews. Cucumber Saison’s, Jalapeño IPA’s, and many more fruit & beer blends. They also have a test brew day where Joe Public can come in a vote for their favorite beer, pretty cool. However I don’t know if I could or would be interested in drinking anymore than a pint of those unique beers. I recommend that Big Pun Double IPA on nitro or the Infinite Ale. The Orange Hefe isn’t bad either. If unique beers are the future of the beer industry Jailbreak should grow well.
I wouldn’t rank them up there with the big dogs of Maryland breweries yet but they have a solid start.
No complaints or issues with service for me. I never waited more than about 5 minutes to be acknowledged and poured a beer. Food trucks camp outside and they have good variety as the trucks rotate on a nightly basis. I haven’t actually picked up any food but the bbq food truck smelled like a winner.

I attended a mud dog run a couple months ago and upon completion you were able to get a free beer from their sponsor, Jailbreak. I was impressed with the monkey beer so i knew I wanted to go to the actual brewery and try the others.
My boyfriend and I split the flight of beer. The only one I was impressed with was the monkey. He wasn’t too big of a fan of the others.
The bar was complexly full and so were the tables and couches. It has a good atmosphere and the food trucks outside are a plus.

Open from Wednesday — Thursday 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday 3:00pm — 10:00pm, Saturday 12:00pm — 10:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. They have TVs for NFL games and they are open late for any Steeler, Ravens or Redskins games on Sunday or Thursday.
Cool new brewery! They do not serve any food here. Please note *no food here.* This is strictly a brewery and therefore, they only serve from the bar. If you would like to have food then you are more than welcome to bring in your own food (carry out to carry in) or purchase food from one of the food truck vendors outside. Every day they host a different food truck or two. Having spent a lot of time in DC and NYC food trucks are a must and to get my food truck fix, I come here!
