Raised in Severna Park, MD, Dr. Samad is the proud son of Fred and Mary Samad, a working class couple that raised their children in a humble household. Dr. Samad grew up to be an avid sports fan. He still plays soccer regularly and is a HUGE Ravens fan! He went to college in Westminster, MD, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Chemistry with a special focus on Physics. He then continued his education at UMBC where he worked on a Masters degree in Biology. He then attended University of Maryland School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. He has received extensive training and experience in Endodontics (Root Canals), Oral Surgery, Implantology, and Invisalign Orthodontics. His belief is Knowledge is Success! He is still undergoing Continuing Education (CE) regularly in the newest, latest and greatest techniques and technology to improve our practice. His motto in his work is, «Changing lives, one tooth at a time

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and it’s been a good experience each time. At some doctor offices the front desk reps can be cold or unwelcoming, but at Laurel pines I am always greeted and people are nice.
Dr. Oppenheim is my dentist and he’s so friendly. I hadn’t been to the dentist in years before visiting him and so I was terrified. He was great from the beginning explaining everything he was doing and what needed to be done. His assistants are also kind and keeping me up to date about what is happening.
The waiting area is always kept clean. They have recently renovated the entire office and it looks great.
I think that the Laurel Pines dental group have a great team. Everyone is awesome, knowledgeable, and work well together. They make visiting the dentist less of a nightmare for people like me who dread having to make a visit for dental work.

If I could rate this as ZERO stars, I would. This review is lengthy and a follow-​up to my last review but, please read it through before choosing this office.
Yesterday, I went in for my appointment with Dr. Samad. He gave me the topical anesthetic and the quick procedure began without incident. As he did the final shaping of the filling, I felt a sharp pain and motioned for him to stop. I told him that whatever he’d just done, I’d felt. He very nonchalantly says, «Oh, I must have nicked you with the drill. Just rinse with saltwater and put a tea bag on it.». I then left the office, still fully anesthetized and went on my way. About twenty minutes later, I feel something in my mouth, fish around and pull out a cotton roll. Why was that left in my mouth? He never mentioned it, I technically could’ve choked on it as my mouth was mostly numb. Six hours later, the anesthesia wore completely off and what I was left with was not the «superficial nick» he claimed but, a messy mass of damaged gum tissue that looks like chewed bubble gum and is just flopping around near my molars. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this practice for any reason to be manhandled and disregarded by these arrogant dentists. The only thing I will miss are the lovely ladies that staff the office, they’ve been nothing but professional, helpful and all around great.

This is the best dental office I’ve ever used. They’re very well-​run, professional and nice. I never thought I’d feel comfortable at a dentist office but I do at this one! I hope Dr. Oppenheim and Angela the hygienist never retire!

Just know — I hate going to the dentist. I’m a big baby when it comes to my teeth and I’ll floss twice daily to avoid anything more invasive than the required 6 month cleanings…
That fear has nothing to do with Laurel Pines. I’ve been using this dental office since 2007 and they have been professional and caring with each encounter. My hygienist, Angela, is amazing and I always enjoy our conversations. I am also happy to say that she is very skilled and efficient (something that matters immensely when you’re practically dental-​phobic).
Dr. Oppenheim is my dentist and while we haven’t spent much time together (thank you Act cavity rinse), he’s very professional and thorough. He has been practicing for a while and his experience makes him more business than bedside (not a bad thing when you’ve got dental tools hanging out of your mouth).
I’d highly recommend this office to my family and friends.

Not the same dental office as when Dr. A’Becket was there. Waited over 45 mins for a cleaning appt and then just left. Never waited more than a minute in the 31 years that I was a patient. Very disappointing

This is a really good dental group. I’ve been coming here for many years. The dental work has been excellent, and my appointments are always on time. The office staff bends over backwards to help me fit appointments in when I have an emergency. I love the years-​long discussions about books I’ve had with Dr. Oppenheim!
