T N Nails & Spa

I use to love going here since I would get great service for what I pay. The last couple of time it was not good. I got a male technician I never had before so I told him I am very specific about my nails. I told him I am going on vacation to somewhere hot and need to get a pedicure and gel mani. He recommended a gel pedi too since I will be on the beach and pool. Two days later I was at the pool and realized my gel pedi was peeling off. This has never happened before. By the end of my trip my nails were a hot mess! The second time I went back to give it a try one time since I use to love this place. I told the technician I needed tips but I want very very thin acrylic since I do t intent on keeping these nails on too long. He made my nails look so unnatural and chunky. I kept telling him it needs to be filed down and he said he wasn’t finished and to trust him. When he was finish it was the same. I didn’t complain since there was no time for me to get them redone. After the wedding, I went to another salon to get them from over and because it was done so poorly with cheap material, it ripped all my nails. They do not sanitize the pedicure tub either before the next customer.

I came in to get a basic manicure, pedicure and eyebrow service. I had a young lady that didn’t speak any English and acted like this was her first time. She never asked me what services I wanted or what type of pedicure I wanted to get. The water was cold, it took 45 minutes just to clip my cuticles and cut down my nails which are all different lengthstyles now. She never rinsed my feet off, she just took them out the water and wiped them off. There was no massage and the towel she used to was cold. I have never received service this bad. I came on a Monday to beat the crowd. Im not sure if I will be back. I left the shop with only a basic pedicure that took a hour and a half and that’s all.

In reading the reviews, I was skeptical in checking this shop out, but trust me, you get what you give. I truly enjoyed myself here. The staff was so nice and wanted to be sure I had everything I needed. But most of all, Nikki did an excellent job on my brows. She created a shape I was happy with and complimented my face. She walked me through this experience every step of the way. Recieved so many compliments from the time I left the shop. Would recommend this shop for not only permanent makeup work, but their collection of nail polish and quick service was superior. Live in Suitland but think I will have to make T&N Nails my new spot for beauty. Kudos to Nikki!!!

The black chick (cashier) tried to guilt-​trip me into giving my nail salonist more than 20%. They said something about how additional charges/​tips made by the customer will be deducted by 15−25% before it is given to the nail salonist, meaning they will not get the full tip you intended for them. There is a charge because the additional charge/​tip is being run through the register (or something).
Anyway, she had an attitude saying «You KNOW she won’t get the full tip RIGHT? She only gets a small percentage.» I said «I know.» And she had maaaad attitude after I said that. I didn’t like the customer service this time. I don’t think I’ll be going back, thanks to her. It’s a shame because the nail salonists are pretty cool.

This salon is not thefanciest salon but their pedicures last and the gel manicures last 3 weeks. They are friendly and fast. I have been going here for two years. I do not have a particular nail specialist because they all do a great job. I promise if you come to this salon you won’t regret it. I tried the new nail salon in the new laurel town center, Modo, and I was sorry I did. Yes they are clean and offer wine, but they pedicure and gel manicures do not last and they charge the same prices. I went twice both times my gel manicure peeled within 3 days.

Came in for a pedi with a friend. The girl didn’t greet us the door. She pointed and told us to sign the waitlist. We were sat right after picking colors, but the nail techs were less than pleasant. Rushed our pedicures after us declining their $ 50 pedicure. My tech had an attitude after she stabbed my foot with her long nails. $ 25 for a 25 minute basic pedicure and blah service.

This place has great potential and was once the only place I went to have my manicure and pedicures done. I made a grave mistake when I decided to go to them for my first Brazilian wax! Did they botch the job!!! If the pictures weren’t so graphic, I would have posted a picture… The technician ripped the skin off of my «kitty Kat»!!! She had the nerve to laugh and say that this was considered a normal reaction to getting it done for the first time. They also didn’t want to refund my money so I took legal action and get this… They DON’T have INSURANCE !!!
How can any business operate without liability insurance. For a year they did not respond and ignored our attempt to move forward with the case!!!
Despite having great color options for your nails, their complete disregard for the safety and well being of their customers is unacceptable and does not deserve my money or anyone else’s!!!

INCREASED PRICES & NEED TO TRAIN YOUNGER STAFF ON PROFESSIONALISM
I’m going to keep this review as simple as possible, DO NOT GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE HERE, UNLESS IT’S BY NATHAN OR THE WOMAN IN CHARGE (She’s usually wearing Chanel CC earrings).
I have thick eyebrows & like to keep them that way, so I brought in a picture to resemble how thick I wanted to keep them.
When I shared this with who was originally suppose to do my brows, the news was yelled across the salon and all eyes were on me. Little did they know I could understand what they were saying and their demeanor & laughter was just enough for everyone else in the salon to realize how rude they were being through laughing & giving me side-​eyed stares.
Once someone decided to take care of me, she came over, again laughing at me, and asked was it me in the picture. I said no, but I would like to have them similarly curved, since in the past I’ve left with straight lines on my face. She then proceeded to tell me that my eyebrows won’t look like the example I brought, which is obvious because it wasn’t me. SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT ABOUT IT NOT LOOKING THE SAME, BECAUSE THEY DIDN’T EVEN LOOK SIMILAR SINCE SHE DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER actually looking at the picture of what I wanted & did as she pleased.
As she was waxing them, she even busted out into laughter as she was making them thinner and thinner.
HERE COMES THE BEST PART
Her phone rang, & she didn’t even hesitate to pick it up AS she was doing my brows. I find this very rude & unprofessional, since a nail salon is suppose to be a place of relaxation & plus, if she’s going to jack up my brows @ least focus on it. So she proceeded to talk loudly in my ear and then hands me the mirror. GIRL BYE.
My brows have no character and are much thinner than I wanted.
I tipped her because I’m kind, but don’t say I didn’t warn you with this review.
Save your time & request NATHAN, not one of the newbies that sit in vacant chairs curled up on their iPhone & ready to judge their next customer.
THEY TALK ABOUT YOU LOUDLY IN THE THEIR SALON, IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE, THINKING YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND.
If you’re going to be rude to people who are paying you, at least be discreet about it and don’t look at me like I’m crazy for not wanting ratchet eyebrows.
They’ve also increased their brow prices from $ 8 to $ 10, which isn’t much to rant about, but they should at least have better customer service if I’m paying more.

I am apparently doing an impromptu tour of the nail salons in the area. I went to this place on a recommendation by a friend.
Service was kind of touch and go. Some things were great others needed work. They take their time with you even if it is crowded. They also listen if you ask for changes. At first my nails had this dramatic crooked slant when she applied the acrylic. I asked her to even it out and she did. My nails were thin, didn’t look like tree bark, and didn’t have excess polish or acrylic.
For me the place just felt like it was packed too tightly. It also fell flat with regard to design technique. Not sure if I will return.

I’ve been going here for quite awhile now and recently have noticed a real drop in sanitary conditions. Not sure if they have properly trained their employees in appropriate handling of clean instruments. They are often mixed with contaminated ones on the same tray. Ick. I have been hesitant to post this on line — each visit I figure will be better than the one before. The technicians are all very nice, try to be accommodating overall; but I will be taking my business somewhere else.

I went in for a simple manicure. I had a gel manicure previously, so that had to be removed first. The nail tech I had was nice but very inexperienced. It took him 35 minutes to get the old gel polish off. Then he preceded to take almost an hour to shape, buff my nails and trim my cuticles. It looked decent but not as good as I am accustomed to. I did not get my polish done, because I had already been there so long and I was not sure of his abilities. When I went to pay they charged me 10 to remove the old gel polish and 10 for my «manicure». I could have did better just doing my nails at home. I guess if you are not getting something fancy, they don’t care who they stick you with. I will never return.

I use to come here in the past but it has been a few months since my last visit.
I went with a pedicure (no paraffin wax this time). Even though it was a Saturday afternoon I didn’t have to wait long. I was greeted when I walked in the door and seated quickly. My technician was Shawn. He wasn’t too talkative and that was fine with me. He took his time and really cleaned those puppies up (again it’s been a few months).
I made another appointment to see him in a few weeks… summer will be here before you know it and I have to begin prepping.
But I think this time I will add the wax.

This is the best nail salon and spa I’ve been to in a long time. I’m very particular about my nails and Lynn does an excellent job!

Came here for a foot massage which was in their «massage «service menu.
When the receptionist announce a foot massage order everyone just looked at each other… another and another.
Like no one wanted to accommodate that service request? Whats that all about???
All the employees kept on whispering to each other like push each other to do it… weird.
Foot massage was great tho for 30 min.

From the moment we walked this place was extremely welcoming. The young black woman at the desk was so warm and helpful. Offered us mimosas. My cousin didn’t get any services but she told her to get comfortable next to me and gave her a mimosa. They are lucky to have her as an employee. The woman doing my feet was superficially nice. But it’s alright. I’m definitely going to do my feet here whenever I’m in town. I got a pedicure and it was fine.

Dear salon owners — please don’t apologize for bad work and offer to fix it later. People come to get things done right the first time.
I walked in this place once before because of its convenience to my boyfriends house, and the reception was just way off on prices. $ 50 for a gel mani? So I left.
I should have known then.
8 months later I decide to return because they are close. I call and make an early morning appointment. 15min later I’m there. First things first– if you are a nail salon and you don’t even have your polish in order — effin’ warning!!!
The pedicure was ok. It’s inconsistent. I paid for a deluxe, but no paraffin was was used. I paid for that. Probably because my tech was too busy talking. Almost scrubbed a hole in my foot in one place, other places were left untouched. Maybe if she could put her phone down… just maybe a little better execution.
Now the manicure. I had to have it fixed TWICE before I just said take it all off. Yes. I have plain nails now. The nail polish was so thick it just would never dry or look right. The correct procedure is base — dry — first thinner coat — dry (by fan) — second coat –dry — top coat — dry. What I got was something completely different. When the second girl tried to fix it, I asked if she was using a gel topcoat. Nope. We just put regular clear polish in gel polish containers. Wtf? And that was a lie. Now I had tacky nails. I was furious and just wanted to leave after 2 hours!!!
The owner guy after that just couldn’t get all the gel/​gunk/​old polish off. So my nails look like they have mold growing on the edges. He noticed they looked bad, and offered for even someone else to fix it. Yeah right dude.
I am however going back for them to fix tomorrow. And I don’t care how long it takes. I paid for this and I’m going to get what I paid for. I just couldn’t take another second in there today. I shouldn’t have tipped.
Anyways, save your time, money and sanity and go to one of the other great places in the area.

I love this place. I have had consistently great pedicures, acrylic services, and waxing for a few years now. There is never too much of a wait and they are very good at accommodating groups of 2 or more. Very clean and the atmosphere is quite nice.

I decided to stop by this place on a Saturday to get a mani/​pedi. An hour later, I realized that I had made a huge mistake. The language barrier didn’t bother me so much as the quality of service that I received. I asked for color, brought the color to the tech. However, she proceeded to apply clear polish to my nails. It took another customer next to me to almost yell at her that I wanted a color on my nails! Frustrating. My mani was done in a total of 2 mins. I felt completely rushed. I spoke to 2 manager who could only offer up an apology. I paid for a spa mani/​pedi and left the store feeling like I was robbed.
If you want assembly line service, this is the perfect place. Terrible work and bad customer service. I will never go back! Save your money.

I was not sure to go to this place but a fellow Unilocaler made me think twice and I am glad I went! They did a fantastic job and I am a picky ass person when it comes to my nails and waxing. I am def going back there again and again! To all those negative posts. Y’all full of crap! This place is great!

I used to go to this salon because of the convenience, but I stopped going years ago since I felt like there was poor customer service and attention given to the client (i.e. I felt like I was just a set of nails to them, not a woman getting her nails done). I recently stopped though the salon because I was rushing to an event, and again for the convenience. However, I was reminded why I no longer go to this salon. The nail tech was actually personable, and she did a great job for my gel mani and pedi (hence the 2 stars). But when I paid for the services I was told a price higher than I expected. And I even told the receptionist «Oh your prices have gone up,» which she replied no these have always been their prices. Well since I was in a rush I didn’t bother to argue and paid, but kept the receipt and grabbed their brochure of services to check the prices later.
The next day I realized they charged me $ 10 more than what they should have, so I went to the salon to inquire why I was charged $ 10 extra. I told the receptionist what services I had done, and she informed me that callous treatment costs an extra $ 5, and getting a manicure WITH the Gellish application costs an extra $ 5. Neither of these extra charges are listed in their brochure. I suggested to the receptionist that the nail techs should inform their clients of the extra charge for callous treatment, which at my salon and others that I’ve visited this is included in the pedicure service. And I also suggested that although I think it’s ridiculous to charge extra for a manicure that is included in getting a gel manicure (!!!), they should include that extra charge in their brochure as well as the callous treatment. The receptionist then told me that different salons do different things (no $ – t), and that they don’t give a breakdown of the costs unless requested. The lack of a cost breakdown is not new to me, but at least the prices for all services are listed at other nail salons so the clients know what they’ll be expected to pay.
This place will never again receive my business, regardless of the convenience.
