I ate at this new place in Laurel right after it opened. I got the cheese steak with the Cheese Whiz on it. This was their recommendation, so I went with it. Awesome very filling sandwich. The taste was awesome with high quality meat. They offered a homemade concoction to put on the sandwich if you want it spicy. That stuff really put it over the top. Highly recommend this new place.

While in Laurel for Thanksgiving, I noticed there was a new eat place on Hwy 15 N. With a name like Fat Boys I had to try it out. It is located at the corner of Parker Drive and Highway 15 in a small white building. There is a parking lot in front. Upon entering I noticed that the interior is small consisting of only two 4 seat tables. I went to the counter and looked at the menu. It is a limited one in that it primarily offers Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and hot dogs. I also noticed that with the sandwiches they only offered potato chips and soft drinks and with the limited seating space decided to get the food to go and eat it at home. That’s why I only ordered a cheesesteak and went with the foot long with mushrooms and provolone for $ 11.95. It came out in about 10 minutes and I took it home. First of all it was a real foot long in length. The bread was very fresh and the meat flavorful and tasty. I must say I really enjoyed the sandwich. Also it was a full meal by itself and therefore very filling. These people have a good product. The footlong is plenty to share with someone else. The ½ sized cheesesteaks are probably more in line with most people’s appetites. My only concern here is that while the food is very good it is also expensive by Laurel standards. With tax my footlong was $ 13 and remember that was without chips or a drink. Even the ½ sized sandwich prices might cause some people to go somewhere else for a meal.
