Nice and prices are reasonable BUT you should not pay again if your car cant be tested. Not that t failed, but it could not be tested until I drove a certain amount of miles and returned for the test. This is not a «re-​test» as I was charged for. Its the first test!

Great place to take your car for a fast and friendly smog check. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes– and I was reminded that I could use a coupon! Had a wonderful experience here– I will definitely come back.

I was a drive-​in. I didn’t have an appointment, but only had to wait until Jose was finishing up the car he was currently testing, which only took 10 minutes. (I had printed out a coupon and had it with me in case I was in the area.)
While I was waiting, he got a phone call inquiring about services… I couldn’t believe my ears, he recommended to the caller to go to the website to download the coupon. He was actually telling the customer how to save money on the smog. That was crazy kind, if you ask me. Most businesses want you to pay full price. The total price which included the test, electronic certificate filing, hard copy certificate and taxes was $ 40.00.
It took only 15 minutes and I was out the door. I got my passing certificate, and he reminded me that I could send it in, or if I had AAA, I could go take care of it straight away. I went to AAA, so now I have no worries about waiting for the tags to come in the mail. Jose was very courteous, accommodating and helpful. Great service, friendly.
I highly recommend A1 Smog Test Center. I will be returning when the rest of our family cars are due for their smog checks, and have already told other family and friends about the quick and friendly service.

Called an hour before I wanted to come in, and the guy told me he only had 2 cars right now. So I waited 45 mins and brought my car in to get a smog check.
I of course, used the check in offer and to get my car a smog check only cost me $ 40!
Only took 20 mins as well and then it was done and I had proper papers in my hand saying everything passed.
Will definitely be coming back when it’s time to get my new car a smog again.

* Super fast — 15 mins in and out
* Close to 405 freeway offramp
* Cheaper than other places I called by over $ 15!

For anyone that’s wondering, the $ 28.75 deal comes out to $ 40 flat when it’s all said and done. Regardless, that’s cheaper or as cheaper as most places. This place is pretty close to South Bay Galleria mall so it’s in a decent area. I went in and only waited 15 – 20 minutest total and I was gone. Will come back here next time I need their services.

Has it been two years since your last smog check? Received that DMV registration bill that requires your car to get and pass a smog check? If you’re from or in the area, then A1 Smog Test Center is a solid option. They’re open 7 days a week. You really don’t need to call in for any appointments if you don’t feel like it. I randomly swung by on a Monday afternoon. I was literally out the door with a passed status in 15 minutes. No stress, no frills.
Mr. Jae took care of my smog test and paperwork. He told me to go on Unilocal,check in, and use that coupon. Most places would probably shy away from that suggestion. Not him.
If you are heading west bound on Redondo Beach Blvd, stay in the right lane. After the 405 underpass and the car dealership on the right, you’ll see a row of automotive shops. A bunch of «mechanic» looking shops basically. Turn in because A1 Smog Test Center is sandwiched in between all that so it’s somewhat easy to miss. Look for the smog test banners.
They got me in and out quick status. Gave me a discount and sent me on my merry way. They take credit cards. What else can I say?

Once I was able to get over how fast time goes, I consulted my trusty Unilocal to find a nearby smog check center.
I’m really happy with what I found. This place offers very speedy service (I had no waiting time), no frills, no up-​sell. They are purely for smog checks. Done in about 10 mins.
