This is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant! I’m addicted to their chicken fried rice I for sure recommend it. Well I recommend all of their food, I have yet to try an item that I didn’t like. I’ve been ordering here now for two years and can see myself being a customer for life.

The food is decent at a reasonable price. However the only complaint I have is the chicken fingers… too much grease! The owner is a nice person. But, the other host(when the owner is not in) you need to repeat the orders like 3 times for him to understand. My recommendations are scalion panckake, the pad thai(any), the pan fry ravioli, or the house fried rice.

YEARS ago this was my favorite Chinese place in Lawrence. Back then they had a much wider menu and had far more non-American-Chinese items. Lately, it seems that every time I try to place an order, something gets in the way. Let’s see — depending on the day: 1) we don’t deliver anymore, or we do; 2) we don’t take credit cards, or we might; 3) we don’t have things on our menu, or we do. I don’t know the history of the ownership(has the place changes owners over time), but it’s a pale specter of the place it used to be. Current management is apathetic at best, acerbic at worst. It’s too bad because Lawrence DESPERATELYNEEDS a GOOD Chinese place that is consistent and delivers. If Evergreen would step up and get back to its roots, I think it COULD contend for that position. But until then? Pass.

This is our go to spot when we have a craving for tasty Americanized Chinese food. We usually get their combo plates with a few appetizers on the side. I am in love with their crab rangoon, and my husband really likes their shrimp with lobster sauce. Portions are huge! One combo plate will easily feed 2 hungry people. Prices are decent, quality is fairly consistent, and customer service is great. The owners are super friendly, and are always smiling and cracking jokes. Delivery is SUPER fast. All in all, this place is great, and hits the spot every time. I deducted one star because they accept cash only, and I find that a little sketchy, not to mention inconvenient.

The year is 2012 and you operate a cash only business? Really? What kind of restaurant only takes cash? I’m sorry, the food might be good, but I won’t trust any business that operates like this — not sure if they do this to hide income from the government(though I can’t think of any other reason to do this), but c’mon, get with the program!

Completely inconsistent to the point where you might not even get food. Delivery? No or maybe yes. Only takes cash. The menu MIGHT be up to date, or they might not have things that are on it. It’s a waste of time.

Food is pretty good. Read some of the reviews on Unilocal and decided to try it. Had a luncheon combo and Pad Thai. Pad Thai was decent but certainly not authentic. Good in a pinch. Saw they had Chinatown style Chow Food and Udon which I’ll try soon. The appetizers, chow mein in the luncheon combo were very good. My pet peeve with chinese restaurants lately is the fried rice. Why are they making the rice light in color. Old school chinese restaurants darken it with chinese molasses and makes it tasty with a touch of sweetness. Note, this place is CASHONLY.

My boyfriend has been telling me about this place since forever. His uncle used to bring him to this chinese restaurant when he was a little boy. Since we were in the neighborhood we decided to stop by for lunch. The restaurant is very little .had about three small tables and no waiter service. The lady who took our order was friendly and even spoke spanish(from what i overheard!) kind of took me by surprise.. . The lunch combination plates were really cheap and even valid on SATURDAYS! Everything was decent, Def. recommend the pork lo mein & chicken fingers! My brother ordered chinese after the beach one day and introduced us to fried dumplings, which are very good! He also recommends the beef teriyaki! All in all, good food decent prices. –MAKESUREYOUBRINGCASH, THEYDON’T TAKEDEBITCARDS.

STILLTHEUNDISPUTEDPADTHAICHICKENCHAMPION !!! Over the last four years I’ve tried to find a Pad Thai Chicken dish that can beat the Evergreen from the taste & value combination, and I haven’t done it. Don’t get me wrong there are some places that are tastier, but the portion is so small, and they price is more expensive. I’ve been to place as far North as a Thai place near the outlets in North Conway, to Chinatown in Boston, Burlington, and Woburn, but the winner still is EVERGREENCHINESESALEM& S. UNIONST. LAWRENCE, MA. The size of the portion is ridiculous definitely two meal out of it for $ 10 and once they get to know you will make it as spicy as you want it. I’ve seen the chef wearing a face mask so they can cook chili peppers in the wok with chili paste and hot oil.(Not for me, some body that must have an iron cast stomach). The owners are always smiling and genuinely nice people. You can eat there there are a few tables, but most people are scared to eat in Lawrence. Nevertheless, call for take out is a frequent occasion. If I’m not ordering Pad Thai, the usual is Lg. House Fried Rice, Lg, Crab Rangoon, Lg. Boneless spareribs well done, and Lg Chicken Wings, and two people are eating that in more than two meals!

I have to say I had high expectations for this place. With how good the pricing is and the portions I thought the food would be much better. Overall for the money we did get a lot of food but besides that there’s not much more to rave about. The portions were huge but the key parts of our meals — the shrimp and the chicken was sparse and just doesn’t add up to other places in the area. The sauces were excellent and were abundant but when you don’t have much meat to dip them in what’s the point? The delivery took longer than expected although he was very nice. All in all I’d pay more money and pick up at our usual haunts instead of having the convenience of take out at this particular restaurant.
