I want it made perfectly clear that Dr. Patel was a fine, caring and knowledgeable doctor. From the first time I saw him as a very hard patient to treat due to severe pain issues and a track record that is hard to explain but totally understandable, he took me on. That was about 2 years ago and his staff was friendly and professional. But 8 months ago, approximately, he started opening new offices and patients were seen by new people who were not familiar with his tough to treat patients, like me. Because of the DEA Medical Board putting pressure on doctors who write strong medicine, Dr. Patel became gun shy(so to speak) and didn’t want to write for those types of medicines. Well after a few visits when my urine test came up negative for one of my medicines and I knew I had taken them, I demanded a blood test where the test showed I was taking them. Then I was given a medicine that was contraindicated with other medicine I was taking and I had a dangerous reaction. I told him about it at a special appointment, because he only saw patients on a specific day(I had to wait a week for this appointment after the severe reaction) and after a deep discussion where I was told his policy was to NOT write for strong pain killers(he knew when I started, of my worsening condition) I saw where he had written for the same medicine that I had such a strong adverse reaction to. Well, with my PTSD raging, I lost my control and pitched a fit, to put it mildly and I lost Dr. Patel. Well he wasn’t going to increase or change my medicines anyway. To be blunt, his practice has gone downhill because, I think, he’s spreading himself too thin and can’t give his patients the proper attention and he won’t write for medicine that some patients absolutely need. So in the rating category, I have to give Dr. Patel 4 stars, but his practice only 1star because his staff, however friendly, is lacking in prompt response when you need anything, especially records and doctors letters. It really upsets me about such a great doctor becoming so poor at caring for his patients. Especially when he was so loved two years ago. I looked up to him because he was so attentive and a damn good doctor. I hope he returns to that person. I’m not in his care any longer but his patients deserve what they are paying for.

Stay far, far away if you actually want any care. Very rude & inexperienced staff. You’ll spend 3+ HR there waiting for every appointment. 1+ week to get insurance authorization for pain medicine while you wait around in agony. They say they’ll call back but never do. You show up to an appt, they don’t have you on the books. You cancel an appt and they claim you no-showed. They care more about making money than helping patients and have zero compassion for people in pain. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here.

Friendly customer service, and great doctors. The staff is extremely friendly — they greet you when you first walk in the door, and once you’re being seen, the staff in the back really makes you feel at home. I had an injection a few weeks back, and the staff on the procedure side, particularly the nurse, Oya, was so friendly and made me feel at ease prior to my injection. It’s a great, comfortable environment and I would recommend this practice to anyone dealing with chronic pain. You will be treated well!

It’s been 3 weeks, still no referral for the MRI. Office was seriously overcrowded and I waited 1 ½ hrs to be seen. The prescription he gave me caused sleepiness, nightmares, and constipation. The best part? I just got notice from my insurance company that the lab billed $ 7600 for the routine drug screen — I’m on the hook for $ 7400. Needless to say, I’ll be reporting that.

Have been taking my 90 year old father in law to Georgia Pain and Wellness Center for almost a year. He has chronic and painful arthritis understandably due to mature age. We have seen both doctors there. Dr Patel and Dr Nguyen are both great! Staff is friendly and I recommend this office if you need help with pain.

Dr. Patel is short, sweet, and to the point. He is VERY focused on making sure he does his job the right way. We are taking about people’s backs here… not jumping car batteries! I will stay loyal to GA Pain & Wellness because the bottom line is my quality of life is better now that I see Dr. Patel. Can’t thank him enough. Keep it up!
