Great restaurant. Owner was taking care of us. Great hospitality and food was beyond awesome. Will recommend to everyone to come and try.

Excellent! The owner are friendly — a husband and wife team. The sauces are rich and creamy, and more importantly they make their own spice combinations. Food is cooked fresh to order. The basmati rice is fragrant, the naan bread is soft and delicious. This is primarily a take out establishment however we ate in and enjoyed chatting to the owners.

GOHERERIGHTNOW! Amazing food. Amazing. Uncle and aunty cook closest to authentic Kerala food(south Indian) I have ever had in USA Amazing dry roasted beef with coconut adjusted to your level of spices. Amazing chicken korma — a gravy chicken dish with coconut milk in the gravy for a saucy effect. Excellent porothas– a variant of Kerala style bread made with flour and yoghurt(I guess — I should try and make these soon!) It is listed to be open till 9 but we ate and ate till 10:20. And they kept making hot breads for us again and again Somehow this is what I miss about door back home — the hospitality. Now the ambience is just to eat — NOTYOURFINEDINE. Few plastic chairs and tables, with flat lighting and can only accommodate few. About 15. TAKEOUTS. what else? Just try it out out.

This is a really great to go Indian place in Gwinnett. I ordered two masala dosa, chicken biryani, butter chicken, chicken 65, and shrimp curry with veggies. I really like the way they cooked the food — not too much oil and butter and very good amount of flavor. The butter chicken was perfect and so was the dosa. I would recommend to call ahead and then pick up since it was obvious they are cooking fresh! The owners were friendly and accommodating as well. The chicken 65 was not as deep fried as it as at other places, so the less oil alternative at Kerala Kitchen is better in my opinion. Definitely going to return here for my Indian cravings when we are too lazy to cook since this is something like my moms cooking!

Glad we made the decision to stop! The photos other Unilocalers have posted of the menu are accurate and the prices seem about right, too. Great menu choices and wonderful taste to the chicken tikka masala. The ladies that run this place know to ask which level of spice you prefer and they prepare your food fresh to order. Kind people, too, not overly pushy like we’ve experienced at other Indian restaurants. I believe the owners are Christian Indians. Authentic taste(a plus) and not as much of an American twist to their dishes. There is nothing too fancy about this place, so prepare for an order-at-the-counter, seat yourself, paper plate kind of joint. Ain’t no thing. We noticed we were the only white folks, which is a good sign. As many Unilocalers also mentioned, there are many take out orders that pass through. Will visit again to try other menu items.

I stumbled upon this great restaurant while visiting Alexander Park. On the down side they serve food in paper bowls and use plasticware for eating utensils. On the upside, this service is great and the food is delicious and made to order. Making food to order frustrates some people who are used to prepared food that is heated to order. To me, what makes this eating experience so good is the time and care put into each order. I have learned to call ahead for my order if I am a little rushed for time. Orders take about 25 to 30 minutes to prepare. I am just in love with the Aloo Gobi. I have eaten at many Indian establishments in GA and Kerala Kitchen is the best. Their Pazham Pori(fried plantains) and Unniyappam(fried banana /rice balls) make for delicious desserts.

Yesterday we were not planning to eat out but on our way to shopping we saw this place and decided to try the Kerala cuisine. Wow — what a surprise. The place was small but clean, the lady at the counter was very pleasant and the food was amazing. Initially we ordered one vegetarian dish Avial, goat curry and rice. It was so delicious and we ordered one uthappam, fish curry, raita and Karimeen fish fry. The fish fry was uniquely Keralan and made me feel as if I was on a house boat in Kerala backwaters. We also ordered a couple of items for take out. We will definitely go back there again.

I ordered the Daal curry, chicken tikka masala, goat biryani and Naan. Everything was great, but I feel like the size of the naans were relatively small. Definitely would come back again!

Finally found a GOOD Indian place in Lawrenceville! The search is over! We came around 4pm to a small, nearly empty restaurant(but don’t let that deter you, the bulk of their orders are takeout). We went up to the counter and you buzz a button when you’re ready to order. We ordered: naan, veggie samosas, chicken biriyani, goat biriyani, bhinda masala, and aloo gobi. Everything was delicious. Every single thing. Not only that, prices are good & the lady who took our order was so nice. Even the cook came out and said hello. One thing my husband and I both picked up on was that all the customers were Indian. That tells you that this food is the real deal. No phony baloney food over here. Please check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Due to the UGA vs Alabama game we decided not to venture into downtown but instead drive 45min to Keral Kitchen. I am so excited to have made this decision. One sign that this is an authentic place is that of the 20 or so people who came to pick up or eat in the restaurant we were the only americans. Most everyone was Indian. When you arrive you have to press a button on the counter in order for them to come out of the kitchen to take your order. You order at the counter. It was a female who took our order. I am assuming she was a co-owner. She was very nice and helpful. We ordered a vegetable samosa(best I’ve ever had) a masal dosa(best I’ve ever had, but I’ve never had this before), chicken tika masala(amazing), vegetable biryani, and an order of Naan. The only thing that was not exceptional was the Naan. I’m pretty sure that they do not have a Tandoori oven and thus the Naan is not cooked in one. Of note, they did not give us any white rice, possibly because we had ordered the biryani, but when I asked about this when I was getting boxes to take the leftovers home, she provided me with two containers of rice. So you might just have to ask. I can’t wait to return to this place and try other dishes. I had my mother with me on this trip instead of my wife and thus was not as adventurous as I might otherwise have been. The place was also very clean.

This is a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant that most people order their food takeout from. But, don’t let that stop you from trying it out because of that! It’s owned by a Christian Indian family, so some of the dishes are a bit different in that they serve beef. My wife and I love eating their food because of the great flavor and the fact that you can customize how spicy you want your food(scale of 1 – 10) which we love as we can handle«authentic» spice levels. We tend to get the chicken tikka masala and chicken biriyani rice, which is almost like Indian style fried rice, some naan, and some of their delicious samosas. Other notable dishes that we had were beef ularthu(not sure I spelled that correctly), all of their chicken curry options, and the samosas with beef which were marvelous. It’s a rare treat to find beef curry options, so we’ve taken advantage and tried it. The best part of this restaurant is that the portions are large, especially considering how inexpensive it is relative to other comparable Indian restaurants. We are typically able to get 2 meals a piece from our order. Don’t let the smaller restaurant deter you. If you are a fan of South Indian food especially, you will love the food here and the exceptionally friendly owners. We have been coming for months after we discovered this place thanks to Unilocal, and it seems we will continue to do so in the near future. The summary: Great food, great value, and friendly staff.

Kind of like a hole in the wall but the food is good authentic Indian cooking. You can get it as spicy or as mild as you want. Very friendly services and they are attentive to the kids needs as it relates to spiciness. I had the chicken biriyani and loved it. My husband who is an Executive Chef was equally satisfied. Not always the case as one can understand why. The yogurt sauce complimented my dish very well. We loved, loved, loved it. Portion sizes were also great too. Will return…

My friend wanted her favorite — Indian food. So, I «Yelped» to find an Indian Restaurant in the area. After seeing so many wonderful reviews, we decided to come here. We walked in and not a soul was in the restaurant. OK, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, since it’s 4 o’clock. We took two steps inside the door and BAM — chilling on the table, waiting for it’s own dinner was a cockroach! Not a water bug. Not an outside bug. But a nasty COCKROACH! If that was on the table, I can’t imagine what’s in the kitchen. The lady begins to «try» to explain that they’re coming from outside. So she’s pointing at the ceiling and out the window. Saying that’s where they’re coming from. We politely just backed out the door. On to the next one…

The food here is absolutely amazing! It’s a Mom & Pop hole in the wall restaurant, but everything we had was cooked to order and delicious. Very authentic. Even the naan was good! It’s a strip mall storefront, so there are no frills in the décor. Like I said, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a few minutes for food. This isn’t fast food. I’ve found my new favorite place to eat!

Excellent Indian food… If you want to try different variety of non veg and veg, this is the place to watch out. Everything will be prepared on order and therefore be patient to have items come to table. 100% satisfaction guaranteed… You can try all varieties of Indian spices here… They are served fresh… Excellent taste… Super chef… I am sure if you try atleast once here, will be back to Kerala Kitchen to try out another item. It is always hard to find out CHEF’s taste around where we have lots o Indian restaurants. So TRY out FOLKS… Have a happy new year…

Why haven’t you gone here? If you’re a fan of Indian food, this place serves up some really good South-Indian treats. Most people don’t know the differences between the different regional cooking traits in India. Kerela Kitchen knows their craft. South-Indian specialties that will warm your belly, clear your sinuses, make you happy, and won’t empty your wallet. This is a true mom & pop establishent. No frills. There are four tables inside with four chairs, each. A husband & wife team run the place. And each dish is made to order, so don’t be in a rush. In fact, call ahead. I have learned the owners would encourage you to call ahead in order to speed things up. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy. My friend and I had the beef ularthu. This is like a hearty beef stew without the gravy. Spiced just right. Truly hearty. Goes well with some flatbreads, or you could even put some on rice. I’m telling you, just go. Give your palate some adventure. I’ll look forward to my next trip there. Holler if you’re coming with.

Summary: South Indian food made with love My first time trying South Indian Food was a… success! And my first time trying it ended it up not being at Fellow Unilocaler Praveen’s house! I heard about this place opening about two months and ever since then I have been looking for an opportunity to try the food here. I kept telling all my South Indian friends about it trying to persuade them to go with me. On election day, my mom had a day off, so I finally had the opportunity to go! I got there and it was… closed. Womp womp. Kerala Kitchen is closed every Tuesday. However, I was determined! So a couple of days later I finally went and got some food to-go. The location itself is very small, cozy. It reminds me of little New York corner places, but inside is a soothing aqua color and the rich smells of Indian spices. The owner was really nice too. I had no idea what I wanted just that I wanted to try something authentic and I like chicken or fish. She helped me decide on getting the Madras chicken boneless and the Kerala fish curry. It was interesting to try two dishes with such different tastes from the same place. Madras is actually really far from Kerala in India. Using Google Maps, I found that they are 595 km apart. Kerala is on the southwest side of India near the coast and Madras is on the east side of the coast. Both of these dishes were made with a mild-spicy level customized for my taste buds. These are suppose to be eaten much spicier. Both meats were very soft and flavorful. They were served with rice and there was more than enough curry/sauce to mix with the rice. The madras chicken was a coconut-base so it almost tasted like an indian version of a Thai Curry. Both were made fresh with love. The owner even let me try some fresh plantain chips. I hope to bring a South Indian friend soon and with their expertise try another authentic dish!
