Lawrenceville Family Practice

My family has been coming here for many years now and we have been very happy. So much so that when any of my friends and coworkers are searching for a good doctor, I give them Dr. Whiteneck’s name and they soon become long term patients as well. Great doctor with a sense of humor which always goes a long way in by book!

I’ve been coming here about 5 years now but today was my last day. The nurse practitioner I see, Sue Neal is very nice and helpful. I only need to see her when I need a refill on my meds, because it’s unfortunately the kind of drug they won’t give you without a visit first.
I don’t mind having to make an appointment but I DO the excessive wait times. Today my appointment was at 1:45 and I came in at 1:30 to fill out the same paperwork they make you fill out EVERY single time (yes I have been here multiple times THIS year, but I’ll sit here and fill it out again). I was called back at 2, and nobody came into the room until 2:45, a full hour after my appointment time.
The wait time is usually an entire hour, regardless of the time you schedule the appointment. It’s enough of a pain to have to make an appointment for the same drug every time, let alone wait 45 min in a isolated doctor room to ask for a script. Going some place else.

The front office staff was wonderful. I booked an appointment on the same day and had no issues. The waiting time was also fast. I was in and out in less than an hour. Susan Neal (APNR) and the medical assistant definitely took care of me. For the first time, I actually felt comfortable at the doctor’s office. I also love that they are only five minutes away from my house. Super convenient location. This will be my new primary family practice.

This was the best experience. I’ve been looking for a doctor (not my normal doc in a box ha) for some time now. The front desk was wonderful, super nice and they called me back right on time, the nurses were wonderful and I loved the PA that saw me. I will be back!

I have been visiting Lawrenceville Family Practice for the past seven years. I would get sick more often just to go see their delightful team!!!
The moment you walk in the door at LFP, you are greeted by a warm welcome from the front-​end staff. Their check-​in process is a breeze and they’re always happy to assist you with the needed forms to be filled out. Also, the waiting room is a very large/​spacious well decorated area. Lots of windows and comfy furniture too!
More importantly, wait times here are rarely an issue. I have always been called back within 15 minutes of arriving (they are happy to work with you even if you’re running late). Moreover, the medical staff does a great job keeping patients informed and engaged. The lead Medical Assistant, Judi, is probably one of the most personable people on the planet! From the start, Judi does a fantastic job making patients feel comfortable and well taken care of. Paige has done an exemplary job as well with addressing patient needs (thank you for the quick & painless blood draw last time I was in :-])!!!
As for my Primary Physician, Dr. Robert Guerreso was the initial provider that I began seeing. He was the reason I continued to come back. Dr. Guerreso has natural communication skills that make patients immediately feel at ease. His ability at listening to patients, picking-​up on detail, asking questions, providing feedback, and solving the problem is unmatched in healthcare. He is what you want in a provider!
Dr. Guerreso has also surrounded himself with excellent staff. I have actually had the pleasure of seeing several different people over my time here. Each Physician or Physician Assistant has always treated me with respect and done a great job at LISTENING to my concerns/​problems as well as addressing them. These are among the most capable MDs, DOs, PAs, etc… that you can get! Specifically, the main providers I have seen here include:
–Dr. Guerreso
–Dr. Whiteneck
–Their Physician Assistants have seen me on several occasions too. The PAs & NPs are wonderful providers with great bed side manner as well. I have recommended several of family members to see them too!
*Great relationship skills and treatment from all of their staff! Each of the above has taken my well-​being beyond the norm. They have made special calls to follow-​up on my care, review courses of treatment, and to EDUCATE me.
Another great plus is LFPs forward progress with TECHNOLOGY. Their Medical Record system has done a super great job at communicating with other facilities and specialists. LFP has always been above exceptional with getting my prescriptions called into/​transferred to my Pharmacy of choice. Additionally, they have a really easy to use Patient Portal and payment process!
Speaking of bill payment and understanding the complexities of healthcare payments… They have an excellent back-​office/​billing clerk who has always been really helpful with deciphering any confusion here :) Sarah is definitely the person that you want to speak with to assist with the billing process.
Last, but certainly not least, Lawrenceville Family Practice has an absolutely delightful & competent Office Manager! Cathy Lehotan has been another main reason that I always return to this facility. She is a warm and caring individual that is delightful to interact with. Cathy has definitely helped build a BEST ALL AROUND Medical Practice here.
The only reason I look forward to getting sick is because I know LFP will take good care of me. :) *Definitely a practice you are in good hands with and one that you can trust with your family.

Outstanding professionals. Always get personal attention. Great follow up on test results and encourage me to manage my health.

We live in an era where instant gratification in the form of a pill is so desired, that physicians have even fallen for this concept. We, as patients, have trained physicians to do this. Has this contributed to the ego mindset of physicians who we have lifted up to believe they are Gods and believe they have ultimate control on what they deem is necessary for our health, even if we do not agree? Or how about if we are even unaware of the drugs they are prescribing us? Is it a conspiracy to gain more money from the pharmaceutical companies now? Slip them this drug along with the ones they know they are getting… they won’t know the difference because 9 out of 10 people don’t really check to see what they are given at the pharmacies because they TRUST their medical team? And then when you find out and fight for your right (or their overstepping your rights), you are ridiculed and humiliated with no recourse or compensation. It’s now on your records, your insurance, and in your memories as a reminder that you are a mere, uneducated layperson who did not have the education to question their God-​like approach. Here is what happened to me:
I am a 37 yr old woman, married, no kids. I was sick with a bad cold or flu so I decided to go to the dr just up the road. Dr Guerreso’s PA checked me out for about10 minutes, and we also spoke about my anxiety for maybe 10 minutes (not 20 as per her notes). She goes into another room to send my prescriptions to the pharmacy, some antibiotics to my knowledge. Then she said I was good to go. Lo and behold I get to my pharmacy and everything prescribed was tightly placed in a bag and stapled (with brochures inside). He ask me to sign the kiosk, i$ 70!!! I though, «wow those are expensive antibiotics. Got home and saw I have $ 40 worth of WELLBUTRIN!
fNot once was this discussed and had it been I would have put my foot down because I DO NOT TAKE ANTIDEPRESSANTS!
Took it back to the pharmacy who in not so friendly terms said they will not take it back to take it back to the dr.
So I went to the dr. The pa who saw me was there but conveniently stayed hidden the entire time. They tried to tell me Wellbutrin was on the chart. asked what my reply to that was and no one could can answer BECAUSE THRERE WASNT ONE. This PA decided upon herself to prescribe this to me without even notifying me or asking what I thought. Which, by the way, I REFUSE antidepressants.
So then a «manager» showed up claiming she was a manager and I would not get a refund – even due to their error. I was reasonable up until she came with an extremely condescending attitude, as if I was nothing but a stupid patient. She said I would NOT get a refund or anything else for that matter and if I did not get off the premises, then she was calling the cops. (I was very reasonable up to this point). Then she proceeded to KICK ME OFF THE PREMISES! I wish I got her name, but I did get her picture, which she did NOT like. She even threatened bodily harm if I did not remove myself, which, I am embarrassed to say, I lowered my standards and made an obscene retort to that comment.
UPDATE: Spoke to a seasoned doctor who said that Wellbutrin is never given lightly===that it is mandatory to have an in=depth conversation with the patient before putting them on Wellbutrin.
UPDATE: I got a copy of my medical records, and NO WHERE was this medication discussed or brought up to me. It was entered into to my pharmacy along with my antibiotics, while she was in another room. I was never informed of this, nor even how to take it. I spoke with another physician about this and he said that Wellbutrin is a medication that is mandatory to speak with clients at length about before prescribing. DO NOT GO TO LAWRENCEVILLE FAMILY PRACTICE! After all their awards, they seem to have a God-​like attitude and are too proud to admit when they are wrong. And this puts people in DANGER.
Now, their defense was «why didn’t I look in the bag before I purchased it» (same thing the pharmacy said. Well, in an ideal world, that would be true. But realistically speaking, when a pharmacy tech handed me a full bag, stapled WITH THE BROCHURES INSIDE, and a line behind me – I trust my medical team to have done the right thing. I’ve been prescribed a medication I was allergic to, so mistakes happen. But they fixed it. There is NO EXCUSE FOR THIS and how DARE these medical professionals make it sound as if WE are the ones at fault when they err. Shame on all of them involved.
By the way, this was all done by Dr. Guerreso’s team and the PA was Alex (who refused to see me during this). My concern is not as much over the $ 40 as it is that it is now on my insurance, a medication I never agreed to, and my insurance paid over $ 100 for it. I will need to speak to my insurance company regarding this now and let them investigate.
Update: AMA has been contacted, as well as consumer right

This place sucks and runs like a scam. So I go in for a physical and blood tests which is covered under my insurance as «Wellness» so they cannot bill me. All goes well. Then they call me a couple days later to repeat the blood test b/​c they think I have low Hb. I go in, get more blood drawn, do not speak to a doctor, and leave. My results are fine; I ask for the results for the first set of blood tests and those are fine; there is nothing wrong with my Hb but they charge me $ 100 anyway for the visit. They couldn’t charge me for the first visit so they make something up so I have to come back so they can charge me for that visit. I’m never going back there again!

Terrible experience today. The doctor took no time to listen to my symptoms/​complaints, did not explain to me his diagnosis and findings during the exam, and called in prescriptions that were not even discussed with me. I have never felt more rushed and ignored by a physician in all my life. They may not notice the absence of my average once a year visits, but neither I nor any of my family members will ever patronize this business again.

Worst experience ever! Besides the hateful staff and long waits both on the phone and when you are there– my husband was misdiagnosed and now has seen a new doctor and they have had to do a biopsy on his leg which lawrenceville family practice said there was nothing to worry about– this place should be closed down!!!

I took my son there last week for a sports physical. I was very happy that they were able to give me a 6:45pm appointment time so I didn’t have to miss any work. In my rush to leave work and not be late I forgot the paperwork for the school required physical on my desk 45 minutes away. I didn’t realize that until I arrived at their office with 5 minutes to spare. They were so nice. They tried really hard to help me locate a replacement form so that my son could participate in football practice the next day. The lady at the front counter could have just said no or been rude about it since it was my fault. She wasn’t and I was very thankful. I’m a single parent of 5 children. Everything is usually hard for me. Lawrenceville Family Practice has earned my business. Being that 4 of those 5 kids are boys, they will get LOTS OF BUSINESS from my family.

Staff not very friendly and it is hit or miss if you see the same provider. This practice works on lots of VOLUME. If you’re looking for the old fashioned kind of provider/​staff who takes great interest in you and your healthcare look further. The best way I could describe this practice is «cattle call». Very impersonal and goal is to run through as many patients as possible therefore creating the «volume».

Although the docs are good, the wait time on the phone to make an appointment is crazy ! I just waited 46 minutes before speaking to a human. When asked why it took so long, her reply, «I’m not sure ma’m.»

Can I give a 0 star?!? Seriously! We have been coming here for about 8 years now. The office is nice and pretty, the staff is OK, it isn’t the cheapest place around but we have insurance. So why the low rating?!? Because every time we come here we wait 2 – 3 hours. Seriously. They double and triple book appointments. Your appointment is at 10? You’ll get pulled back at 10:30, you’ll get weighed and sit in a room until 11:15 — 11:30. How do I know? I am sitting here right now waiting as I write this! We are here for a simple checkup on my son and a refill of his medication. Last time we had to go in we came at 5:30pm and got out at 8:00pm. The doctor does nothing but spend 10 minutes with us, asked if everything is OK and writes a prescription. If my time is not valuable to them it sure is to me. I am giving it 10 more minutes then I am walking out. Obviously the have so many clients that they don’t need me!!!

Friendly staff and helpful. A star off because it was expense to see a physician because I have no insurance but they offer options for self pay patients.
