Before this visit I was a chiropractic virgin. I can’t really say that I’ve had someone mess around with my bones before, so I was a little apprehensive. The appointment making process was really easy. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very patient with me and willing to work with my overly hectic work and school schedule. A+ on that. The office itself is situated in an unassuming beige stucco building, and also has a medical clinic attached(which I feel like is a plus.) Again, the receptionist was very sweet and told me what to fill out on my «new patient» forms. The wait was actually pretty nice. My appointment was at 4:15 and I was seen at 4:16. Not bad compared to other medical centers I’ve been to. The chiropractor was really warm and welcoming, which totally helped to calm my nerves. By far one of the best doctors I’ve ever had(and I’m in nursing school so I feel like I’m qualified to say that he has the qualities of a humdinger health professional.) Let me give you a break down of what happened when I went back: I went into a room where I was asked about pain levels and such, and asked to lay down on a table. The doctor felt around on my spine and neck. After that he picked up a spine model and showed me what he felt in my break and where certain problems were. Then I was taken to a room where I layed face-down on a table and had electrodes and a warm compress placed on my back. Now, I’ll admit when he said the world«electrode» I was slightly freaked out. I’d never had them on before so I wasn’t exactly sure what they felt like. Don’t be scared, it’s painless! The electrodes paired with the hot compress is what I’m pretty sure heaven feels like. After 15 minutes of that, I was placed face up on a machine that kind of felt like those massage chairs in the mall where something rolls up and down your spine. Finally, I was taken to another room and adjusted. I’ve never heard my neck or back pop like that before, but dang did I feel good afterward.
