They pulled me in with their large pizza slice sign on their window. Yummmm, pizza. So I step in only to find that they don’t actually have pizza slices. Maybe they make them in the morning, but certainly not for people wanting to have a slice for dinner. So I figured I would get a small pizza… have you seen their prices?!? For the amout they charge they must think they are up north, or they better have the best ever pizza… ever. This place is crossed off my list.

I love, love, love their pizza by the slice. We get pizza slices to go at least once a week. For whatever reason, when we buy whole pizzas, the flavor is just not as good. I really cannot explain it. By the slice, the pizza is a solid 9.5 out of 10. Whole pizzas I would rate at 7 – 8. The service is always fast. I think these guys serve much better pizza than most of the big name pizza franchises.

I recently moved to Leander and have tried several of the local pizza joints(AJs, Al Capricio, Brooklyn Heights). I definitely prefer AJ’s above them all. I lived in Austin before and I’d even say this is my favorite pizza from anywhere in the area. They don’t skimp on the cheese for sure :) I’d definitely recommend just buying a whole pizza. By-the-slice is just never as fresh. That goes for anywhere.

Amazing pizza, you can tell she puts her heart in it. Great customer service. The pizza is perfectly even and not greasy and I love that her meat toppings are not pork.

How can you run a pizza delivery shop when you don’t answer your phone on a Friday night? We called several times on a Friday night around 9 pm and no one would answer. Unacceptable. Nothing bad about the pizza just the service.

I’ve been curious about this place since moving to Leander a year ago. Every time I went to the HEB I thought about checking it out, but never did. I guess the little snob that I try to ignore got the better of me. Maybe the fact that it was connected to a grocery store had the ever so fancy part of me worried that it wouldn’t be very good. After putting it off, I finally gave it a shot and I’m so glad I did. So far, it’s been one of the best and most consistent pizza I’ve found in my new area. Nice crust, just the right amount of that perfect pizza grease working it’s way in. Good cheese. Just a damned fine pizza all around. Plus, you can order a pizza and go get your groceries and your order will be ready when you’re done. What more can you ask. The staff is pretty cool and very polite. May I recommend the gyro pizza with extra gyro sauce. It’s a little different, but absolutely fantastic.

Simple location, great service, and classic NY pizza. They sell slices all the time, which are reheated in the oven when you order, just like every pizzeria in NY does it. In my opinion, this makes the slices taste better. Places like this are wonderful little gems, a great reminder of home. Having this option for the folks who live up here is awesome! Don’t change a thing. :)

I read these review and what a crock of crap. They were great on the phone. On a Saturday night, 15 minutes and I had a pizza roll in my mouth. I cant believe the sorry and stuffy comments because I was a little hesitant to eat here because of them. How wrong were you. Great stuff, Will never eat the chain crap again.

I went here for a fast lunch before grocery shopping next door. The per-slice pizza is kept at room temperature until purchased. Then it’s warmed in the pizza oven. The only problem was that mine was still cold after being warmed. The taste was good but it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t at the right temperature.

This place has great sandwiches and pizza. Plus they deliver without charging an arm and a leg for trip charge. We have always been pleased with their service and will continue to go there.

To all of you who keep Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Pappa John’s & Mr Gatti’s in business this might not be the place for you! In fact, if you like a whole pie best then you don’t know anything about East Coast or NY Pizza. Born in Maryland and having spent lots of time in NY. I have a particular taste I’m looking for when I want pizza. For all of you that wonder how long a slice has been sitting out you don’t know East Coast Pizza! I actually am a bit disappointed if they have to bake a new pizza for me because there’s no cheese or pepperoni pizza sitting out. The reason for my disappointment is that, in my opinion, the crust is crisper when it is heated up a second time. Yes, that’s exactly how they serve most slice pizza on the East Coast and NYC. Different strokes for different folks, but this Pizza at AJ’s is NY Pizza! Delish! Ok. This review was for the 2243 store next to HEB plus. I’ll check this one out soon.

Tried them yesterday and the the taste of their pizza is ok not the best I’ve tried in cedar park but ok if you need a quick slice and don’t mind them not baking slices with ingredients but adding them to a slice of cheese pizza that’s been sitting for who knows how long. I asked for a slice of pepperoni so I could try them out and that was too complicated to keep in stock with the other old pizza they have sitting on the counter and had to wait for them to make it. I would agree with previous reviewers on the lack of sauce though. It doesn’t have to be swimming in it but it’s one of the prerequisites of being a pizza.

This is real east coast pizza. If you just LOVE Marcos or DiGiorno, hit the back button on your browser now. If you’ve ever bought a take and bake pizza, back button. AJ’s pizza doesn’t have lots of sauce because it’s not supposed to. It has great cheese and a perfect crust, like it’s supposed to. The wings are great too, some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere.

The reviews and pictures looked good so I figured I would spend the extra money and order a better quality pizza than dominoes or Pizza Hut. They minimum delivery order price was 15 $. I ordered an extra large for my family and I. The guy who answered the phone picked it up laughing and talking to somebody in the background. I should of known right away about the quality of business I’d be dealing with. The kid on the phone continued to laugh and pause as I asked him questions about toppings and prices– I felt like I was dealing with high schoolers. Clearly nobody cared about being professional or customer friendly on the phone. They said it would take 30 – 45 mins– it took a good 45 – 50 mins. After I tipped the driver and went to feed my girls I noticed the pizza was undercooked and the topping were sliding off. I went to cut my girls a piece and noticed the pizza appeared to have extremely light sauce. I tried some and couldn’t understand how there could be absolutely NOSAUCE on the pizza. I normally never complain– but I figured I’d call them and tell them they made a mistake. As I did so I got the same kid on the phone who didn’t understand what to do or say and said he’d talk to his manager? I asked if I could talk to her instead and after a very long hold she got on the phone. Not nice and trying to tell me I was wrong and the guy put sauce on it. Last time I checked my eye sight was 20⁄20 and my taste buds could clearly taste sauce from no sauce! I wanted my money back but she didn’t even offer and quickly said we’ll make u another one and take that one back… As though she didnt believe me. When the second one arrived I had already made something else for my girls because they were starving– the delivery guy seemed a little awkward and like something was up. I opened the pizza and it was super watery on top! All of the toppings had fallen off in the car ride over and there was just sawgy crust remaining. Wtf! Not only did it take forever, was disgusting, watery, rude manager, horrible customer service on the phone, and refusing to even apologize, I didn’t trust people handling my food as far as I could throw them! That’s just what I did to my money– threw it and the«pizza“in the trash! Oh and by the way– no! There was still no sauce under all that water! Horrible! Would have been fine if the manager knew how to deal with customers! Do not plan to eat here unless you like overpriced pizza without sauce!

I drove a long way to get this pizza because someone said it was really good. WRONG! Crappy pizza, crappy customer service. The pizza was the most flavorless, blah pizza I have ever had. There was almost no sauce on it at all, to the point where most of the pizza was just cheese on crust. We asked about ordering mushrooms but were told the mushrooms came out of a can. For $ 22 for a medium/large pizza, I don’t think fresh ingredients are too much to ask for! We ordered half pineapple and and even the pineapple had no flavor. I asked about ordering gyro meat on the other half once I got there but they said they couldn’t put it on and put it back in the oven for me so she offered to sell me a baggie of the meat, which they didn’t heat up. Gyro meat is supposed to be shaved off the spit and this was in chunks. Strange. So, overall, a VERY disappointing pizza experience. Was wishing I’d just ordered Domino’s! Then, I called them the next day because I was not happy about paying $ 22 for one horrible pizza. The manager said she would refund my money(because I wasn’t about to drive all the way from Austin to Leander again to get more potentially crappy pizza) but that the credit card orders had gone out for the day so it probably wouldn’t be until early next week. Um, I’ve never met a business that couldn’t do instant refunds on their credit card machines but whatever. I tried to be nice about it. So, by the end of the week, still no credit on my card. I called back, asked to talk to the manager again after explaining why I was calling, and, wouldn’t you know it, the manager was«busy» and never called me back. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company after I was told they would refund my money. Ridiculous!

The crust is tasty! But; why oh why; canned mushrooms. Are fresh ingredients too much to ask?

Well, it was good pizza. I had it delivered and it arrived still hot, unlike the pizza I got from Mr Gattis last month. Punks. I enjoyed the thin crust. We got pepperoni, sausage and black olives. It was $ 15. They won’t deliver unless you spend 15 bucks. Thats kinda lame. It was definitely better than any chain I’ve had. Is it THAT much better than DiGiorno that I will spend the extra 10 bucks for a pizza again? No. Nothing spectacular. But, better than the chains. I don’t eat a lot of pizza so feel free to ignore me if you want. Except for you, Mr. Gattis. You can kiss it!

Randomly ended up here after an afternoon of shopping at lowes and 1890 ranch. We were going to go to mcdonalds for fries but the line was crazzzzyyy long so we were gonna go to the new pizza hut in leader but there is no area to sit down and eat. So we headed to the grocery store where there was AJs pizzeria. Right in HEB plus pretty much. Decided to go grab a bite before our grocery bill was gonna rack up because you’re never supposed to go grocery shopping while hungry. Only downside of this joint is that it’s small so your better off to get something to go. I think there was about five or six tables. However, pizza was delish! Fiancé got mushrooms on his pizza I got feta cheese, spinach, fresh tomatoes, basil, and olives. Talk about yummy! The pizza slice was huge for $ 2.00 and it was good. The crust was thin and crispy, not too much sauce on the pizza where it falls of the edges when you take a bite, and perfect amount of toppings. The prices were good and they had a whole huge menu to order from. I can say next time I’m looking for some NY style pizza this place reminds me of new england and I will def. be back. Give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised. :-)
