Elite Event: Bunches of Brunches at Tavern at Mission Farms

I had an 11am seating.
I had high expectations, as I’ve been to Tavern at both locations numerous times in the evening but never during the day and definitely not for lunch. It was excellent.
Service was great — we were never more than a few minutes without being checked on — but not in the annoying nosy way — just the glance over to make sure everything is okay and no one is trying to make eye contact with the waiter over an issue way.
Food was great. I had the saussice Madame-​provencal. It was a french baguette with homemade sausage, fried egg, tomato jam, gruyère & mornay sauce and tavern potatoes. That dish itself was plenty and the potatoes make it a very hearty meal.
The started us with doughnuts and beignets as well as tea/​coffee/​juice.
One of the benefits of being elite — breakfast with old and new friends for the cost of the tip to your waiter. Of course I’ll return and bring friends. They are doing things right here at the Tavern.

OMG what an amazing brunch! A great event with amazing food and a wonderful way to meet new people — our fellow elites!
We were all seated together (as each reservation group anyway) and the food was amazing. They brought us ‘dessert’ at the beginning of our service… probably because we had 11:30 reservations. Amazing doughnuts and beignets with crème englaise. what a sweet and delicious way to start our meal. I ordered a mimosa as well as coffee, because birthday weekend and why not? Can’t have brunch without mimosas!
Ok now for the rest of the food… I ordered… I don’t know what it’s called… but it was a baguette with sausage, egg, sun dried tomato jam, and some other magical yummy stuff! My boyfriend ordered the croissant sandwich which looked amazing; and as he inhaled it pretty quickly I’d say it was delicious.
Not only was the food amazing, but service was also amazing. Everyone was so attentive and helpful! Plus i believe the manager/​owner? came by to say hi and speak with us briefly. I’ll definitely be back (boyfriend in tow) for their weekend bunch very soon in the future!!!

Delicious brunch. My mom had the biscuits and gravy, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the farmer’s benedict with sausage, gravy and biscuits. The biscuits were light and fluffy, and the poached eggs were perfect.
I enjoyed the Roasterie coffee, and the ‘dessert’ they brought at the end — cinnamon sugar donuts with crème englaise, were great.
My mom had a mimosa, which she loved mainly because of the fresh-​squeezed orange juice. I had a bloody mary, which was extremely fresh and tasty.
Our server, Kevin, was outstanding. He kept us entertained, and well served.

First off the service was excellent! From the Manager greeting us enthusiastically at the door, to the servers, and the Manager again making sure to say goodbye and thank us for coming when we left. It would be great to get this level of service everywhere… all the time.
The Roasterie coffee was smooth and above average coffee for a restaurant in my opinion. The fresh, warm beignets were sweet, melted in your mouth, and made me want more. I did not care for the fresh donuts. Too much cinnamon and sugar on those and the chocolate sauce didn’t really go well with them.
We both ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. I had never had this for breakfast and/​or brunch so my opinion may not be worth much. I have had crab many times and I thought theirs to be a little on the fishy-​tasting side. The poached eggs were perfection but found they didn’t really go well with the fishy-​tasting crab cake. When eating the crab cake with the asparagus I found it to be much more palatable. The fried potatoes were both cooked well and tasty enough not to have to ask for ketchup or hot sauce.
Overall, good job Tavern! Keep up the good work and the level of service and you’ll have repeat business.
